For Helicobacter Pylori Infection: So I started antibiotic h Pyrlori combo of amoxicillin, clarithromycin, lansoprazole meds on Monday and its a 14 day course. I had this medication prescribed in the past but I was feeling so sick I couldn't do more than 10 days, unfortunately the H pylori came back , thats why I'm taking it again. I feel horrible, headaches, nausea, no energy. I just hope I can finish the course, any tips on how to minimize the side effects? |

For Sinusitis: I was instructed to take this clarithromycin antibiotic for 10 days for a suspected sinus infection. The joke is that my doctor didn't do any testing to make sure that I had a bacterial sinus infection - it could've been viral or fungal, but I was just handed these drugs & sent on my way. I got all the usual side effects, upset stomach, the worst bloating ever and gas all day long. I took them with food but it still affected me. The bitter taste in my mouth was disgusting but tolerable. By day 5 heartburn struck & I felt very unstable mentally & physically. I began to get oral thrush caused by these tablets and this is when I gave up. I couldn't push myself to take anymore & now I have to take more medicine to clear the thrush. I can't even give the tablets any credit for clearing my infection because I may not have needed them to begin with. For Sinusitis: I was prescribed clarithromycin for a sinus infection. I have been battling this for four weeks. And two prescriptions before this. I am on day three and feel only a little better. I have read it takes 4-5 days to feel better especially if you have had it awhile. The sinuses are hard to penetrate. I have had no stomach problems, I recommend probiotics. Nasty taste in my mouth...Gatorade helps a bit. I have also had fatigue and headache but I am unsure if this is due to the antibiotics or that my body has had it with medication. Hope this helps someone. |
