Semaglutide "After having my last child, I had my thyroid removed and ended up with hypothyroidism. I gained about 60 lbs within a year from 190 lbs to 252 lbs, and I was 190 lbs just after I had the baby! I am not diabetic. My Endocrinologist increased my dosage of Levothyroxine to 225 mcg and started me on Ozempic. I've taken 3 doses of Ozempic (beginning week 3 today) at .25, and I'm already down 9 lbs. Zero appetite, no side effects. Just have to stay hydrated."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Side effects are mild for me, but it really decreases your appetite. Initially, I could only tolerate fresh fruits and vegetables. I took this as an opportunity to change my lifestyle. I eat healthier and avoided sugary drinks. I lost a total of 40 lbs. in 6 months. A1C dropped from 7.3 to 5.4. Dress size dropped from 14 to size 4. I am no longer on daily insulin, BP meds, and cholesterol meds. All labs are normal. This medication is my lifesaver."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started on the low dose of 0.25 in July - had no nausea, no loss of appetite, a little loose stool once a week. It's now December, I've stayed on the 0.25 dose and have lost 35 pounds! I feel great, better than I've felt in 10 years. I've even started riding my bicycle. I make sure to drink plenty of water daily and eat regular meals."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started with a 0.25mg dose once a week. I am on week 3 of taking it and already noticed a decrease in appetite and sporadic increase in feelings of nausea. I also have noticed that I get full quicker resulting in eating less. Bowel movements are no longer consistent and can vary in type. I have noticed that I have moments where I have no energy. In order to try and improve this, I have been drinking a little orange juice. I continue to drink a lot of water since I also take Jardiance, which will dehydrate you if one doesn't drink enough."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "It has been a year since I have been on Wegovy. I went up to 2.4 by August 1, 2023, and had lost 50 pounds in those six months. The last 6 months I have not lost any weight. I have not gained but definitely stalled for 6 months. I just went down to 1.7 last week to see if the high dose of 2.4 is the reason for the stall. Appetite suppression also stopped at 8 months. No clue what to do, but I will stay on 1.7 for a month to see if it changes the stall. Good luck, everyone! I have a whole new life after losing 50 pounds! Life is good!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking Ozempic for 16 months. I have lost around 30 pounds and my A1C has gone down from 8.0 to 6.9 - the lowest ever for me. I am taking the once-weekly 1 mg dose. I have experienced loss of appetite, constipation, and depression. I have had sciatica and piriformis pain since July 2022 to the extent that I can barely stand or walk for five minutes. An MRI shows that I have issues with L4, L5, and S1. The pain has not subsided with physical therapy or a piriformis injection. I am now thinking that this pain is one of the side effects of Ozempic. I have had lower back pain on and off for years but never to the extent that I have now. It has seriously affected the quality of my life; I realize that the depression and anxiety are byproducts of a bad quality of life. I am suggesting that this severe pain that I am experiencing could be a side effect of Ozempic since that drug is the only change in my medical plan."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started on 0.25 mg. Had some side effects but not enough to stop taking it. Nausea, but not terrible, heartburn which was bad at times, Pepto-Bismol sorted it out (have some on hand). Curbed appetite, but noticed it starting to not be so effective when it was time to up the dose. I am now on 0.5 mg. The third week, and I am on a new dose, and there's a big change. I have heartburn most of the time, especially if I try to eat starchy carbs (1 slice of bread). Nausea here and there, but since I took the third dose of 0.5 mg, I have absolutely zero appetite. I know I should eat, but 1 or 2 mouthfuls of food is enough for me. I lost 12 lbs in the first month and will weigh myself at the end of the second month. Conclusion: if you really can't stop eating, and your health is suffering, speak to your doctor about Wegovy. It's not a magic wand, but will definitely help you. Make sure you drink plenty of water throughout the day."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "On December 19, 2022, I saw my medical provider and requested a prescription for Ozempic. She agreed that at 5’3” and weighing 192 lbs, it would be a good option for me. I started Ozempic on January 3, 2023. The first time I weighed myself after starting Ozempic was at the beginning of February, and I weighed 179 lbs. Through February, my weight bounced between 181-175, then I lost another 5 lbs in the first two weeks of March. I’m hoping to reach 160 by mid-April. My weight goal is 130-135. I am very happy with Ozempic’s effect on my weight loss. I have had assorted side effects. I had two days of extreme headaches after my first dose, but I’ve only had mild headaches with dosage increases since. My stomach is mild to moderately upset most of the time, and most of the time I don’t have much appetite. I’m at a 1 mg/week dosage now, and I’ve started having a lot of bad-tasting burps, but constipation is by far my worst side effect. I don’t know if I would have bowel movements without laxatives."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "My BSLs were out of control but almost immediately came under control with Ozempic, with the bonus that I also lost weight. THEN the shortages began, and I think I only managed to get hold of one, maybe two packets over the past year or so - they say it was because so many people were taking it for weight loss. Didn't notice any side effects at my first start, but have just started again, and the first night I had terrible heartburn and also seem to have completely lost my appetite. Bought some Gaviscon for the first and meal replacement shakes for the second and now all good."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve had a lot of weight gain over the past two years, which has become impossible to get off. I’m 35, 5’4, and went from 150 lb to 183 lb. Through diet and exercise, I got myself down to 171 lbs but could not lose beyond that. I found out through blood work that I was pre-diabetic. My doctor put me on injectable Semaglutide, 10 units. I’m one week in and I’ve lost 7 lbs! It’s an important 7 lbs because I had not been able to break the 170 threshold. I’m now 163.1. Excited to see what week two has in store for me. Side effects were most prevalent on days 1-3. Days 4-7 were fine, but appetite suppression definitely lessened as the week went on."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been on Ozempic for 8 weeks, .25 starter dose for the first 4 weeks; it suppressed my appetite, a couple of mild headaches, and intermittent nausea. Moved to .5 at week 5 and have no desire to eat at all. It’s almost a problem as I feel so weak and have all-day nausea. Hard to tell if the nausea is from not eating, Ozempic, or both. At week 6, I also started taking Humira for spondyloarthritis; the combined side effects are brutal. Sick nearly 24 hours a day, constant nausea, vomiting with any exertion. Backed off the Ozempic to .25; the side effects are better, but still troubling. As a positive, I’ve lost 30 lbs in 8 weeks, all from not eating as I feel too sick and weak to walk or work out. The docs prescribed Zofran 8 mg po every 8 hours as needed. It helps, and I do manage to eat a couple of small meals. Weigh the benefits and downsides, but it does work. A1C dropped from 8.7 to 7.4 in the first 8 weeks and should continue downward with prolonged use and accompanied weight loss."

Semaglutide "I have been on Ozempic for 5 full months to help me lose weight. In that time, I have lost exactly 60 pounds (I had about 100 to lose). I was on 0.25 mg for 6 weeks, moved up to 0.5 mg thereafter, and have been on 1 mg for the past 4 weeks. I certainly experience stomach pains, headaches, absolutely no appetite, severe constipation, feel full almost immediately after eating more than 3-4 bites, and I am not sleeping as well. As of right now, the benefits are outweighing the negatives. I do not plan to stay on Ozempic long term because the possible thyroid cancer/tumors scare me. I am nervous upon stopping Ozempic that the weight gain will come right back."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic Dec 4 with 0.25 the first and second week and 3rd & 4th week .05. I lost 6 pounds. The only side effects I’ve had were lack of appetite (but I do eat, but a third of what I used to), full stomach, diarrhea just 3 times in 4 weeks, and today a sudden onset of blurry vision. My eye doctor squeezed me in today and found nothing wrong. I told him I was taking this medicine and a side effect was blurry vision. It may just even off in a few days, nonetheless, I have a call into my primary doctor to make him aware and see his opinion. So far, that’s about it. I will continue to take this unless I’m told otherwise. It’s really keeping my glucose below 100 daily."

Semaglutide "I come from a family that has a long line of diabetes. I have an aunt who they just cut three of her toes off and has died just over Christmas from diabetes. I started off with a dose of 50 clicks. I felt sick within hours and had almost a total loss of appetite. So I skipped the next dose. Week three I went back to 40 clicks on the blue pen. Feeling less nausea, I was eating within a window of 6 hours a day. Feeling satisfied and not much for side effects, I went back up to 50 clicks. After one pen, I lost 17 lbs. For pen 2, I varied my days between injections according to my social schedule as it was the Christmas season. I ate whatever I wanted, sweets and everything. And over the next pen, I lost 1 lb a week. So down another 4 lbs. I'm currently 3/4 through my 3rd pen, and I'm holding at 24 lbs."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "On Ozempic for 6 weeks now. I had two pancreatitis-type pains in my upper abdomen and back. I am extremely tired a lot. I have had low blood sugar under 4 a couple of times and loss of appetite. I get dizzy and lightheaded at times. I am hoping these side effects are temporary. It does curb your appetite, most definitely."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was prescribed Wegovy for weight loss purposes. I’m 5’11, 225 pounds, with a BMI of 31%, so I can be considered obese. I’ve been on it for one week and have lost 7 pounds. I’m starting with the lowest dosage (0.25). First of all, the injection was completely painless (for me). I also inject Humira bi-weekly, so maybe I’m just used to it, but I was shocked to feel absolutely nothing. I questioned if I was doing it right, it was so painless. Do not let some testimonials scare you! I did a lot of research while waiting for the drug to come back into stock. 90% of what I read were complaints about vomiting, diarrhea, some people getting so sick they had to go off of it. Some of these reviews were written after only a week or two of the drug usage. So far, my personal experience has been completely different than what I’ve read. That could change as I go up in dosage. As of right now, the only side effect I’m experiencing is a complete lack of appetite."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started taking Ozempic in October 2022 for weight loss. Started with 0.5 mg for one month and then increased it to 1 mg. For the first few months, the only side effects were constipation and loss of appetite. However, after a couple of months, I started getting abdominal pains in the upper right quadrant that extended to my back, between my shoulders. The pains would manifest a day or two after the shots and last several hours. It was worse during standing or walking and not a problem when sitting. At the same time, the effectiveness of the drug for weight loss was reduced, and I stopped losing weight. With the combination of the side effects and the lack of weight loss, I started reducing the dosage. I went from 1 mg to 0.75 to 0.5 mg. The side effects continued but were reduced in intensity and duration. Eventually, I stopped taking Ozempic in April 2023. After two weeks without the drug, the abdominal pain is almost gone. Total weight loss was 50 lbs."

Semaglutide "I wanted to write this early in the process of taking this medication because I know how it feels to be scared to take this tablet. I’m on it for weight loss in the UK cost £139. I read a tip to take it early in the morning, I usually take it between 4 am-6 am. I started taking it 2 days ago. The first day I felt fine with no side effects, the second day I was feeling a bit nauseous but it was manageable. Today my appetite has decreased already and I only want small amounts to eat, the thought of a large meal makes me feel ill. I’m intrigued to know if this will stay or go. If it lasts I will be one of the lucky ones. I weigh about 268 lbs so I will come back in two weeks and let you know. I hope the side effects don’t ramp up each day I take it. We will see."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Rybelsus for almost 7 months, the first 3 months I was on 3 mg, then increased to 7 mg three months ago. I was previously on glimepiride and metformin for blood sugar control, but I was having multiple lows. My doctor replaced the glimepiride with Rybelsus. So far, I have lost 44 lbs and my A1C went from 7.3 to 6.6 after only 3 months. The only side effect I have is decreased appetite, which has helped immensely with the weight loss. I think this is a weight loss drug. With the weight loss and decreased appetite, obviously, your A1C levels are going to be lower. I am happy with the weight loss, I am just concerned as to when it will finally plateau and even out and if my appetite will return at some point. I have also been suffering from some insomnia, but I suffered from that periodically prior to the change of medication. I wish my insurance would cover it at the copay of $10.00 instead of it being on the list of higher-cost medications."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have pre-diabetes and obesity and started on the 3 mg dose for the first month and then moved to 7 mg. I was very nauseous and found I could eat very little. I had no appetite. Great for weight loss, but I felt really bad. Maybe two weeks into the 7 mg dose, it was a little better. Then the doctor wanted me to move to 14 mg. I don't like to throw up, and it became too much for me to tolerate. I asked to go back down to the 7 mg dose and have done fine on that ever since. Definitely still keeps appetite in check. Five months in, and I’ve lost 35 pounds. Also showing improvement in my blood sugar levels."
