Semaglutide "Incredible that one's appetite just vanishes. Sadly, the side effects are quite dramatic. Nausea, burping, tiredness. Not such a good combination."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I can only thank the makers of these drugs. For 30 years, I have suffered from what is now known as food noise. Now, I feel normal. I can say no to foods that before I craved all the time. I still get cravings, but it's amazing that I can have a protein shake or something small and that feeling goes away quickly. Now, Wegovy wasn't easy at the start. I had bad symptoms at the start… very bad. I was often sick or had sulfur burps. It wasn't until I spoke with a well-educated nutritionist who supports these drugs that explained I needed to drop my dose below the 0.25. As soon as I switched to 0.10, then 0.20, then 0.40, this slower transition helped a lot. He also explained I should try a liquid diet… which I didn't like the sound of at first, but he explained if I had a small protein shake before meals or when I was hungry, it would be easily digestible and force me to eat very small solid food meals. My god, it helped. Now, after 9 months, I've lost 20% of my weight. Couldn't be happier."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "The first month was great, weight loss of 14 lbs. Felt fine. But the 5th week increased injection to 2, the fourth day I had terrible stomach pain, diarrhea, vomiting, got better but still have heartburn, burping, and unable to go to the bathroom. I take omeprazole and Peptic as I have GERD! But has not helped! Tried Pepto-Bismol, doesn’t help!"

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm almost 2 meters long, and when I started, I was more than 157 kg. Within 11 weeks, I lost 22 kg. Almost every week, I lost 1.5 kg and more after the big water loss. For me, it's an addition to the bigger plan. Yes, I use Wegovy (now on 1 mg), but I also go to the gym 5 times a week and add some hour-long walks to my day. And yes, I also have a strict timeframe where I have my meals. And yes, they are mostly veggies and some yogurt with some granola for some fiber. I had some side effects like heartburn, burping, constipation, and I'm more tired than before. But I think that's a normal thing to process, especially when you make the transition. If you are seriously overweight, please consider this medicine as a small part of the bigger plan!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I had already lost 60 lb before taking Ozempic. I've been on Ozempic for about 5 months and have lost another 10 lbs (now at 220#). I have found that eating oatmeal and taking an OTC anti-diarrheal, I handle these problems very well. The good news is my A1c is now 6.3. My morning finger sticks run between 95 and 107. Once a week very easy to use. I don't even feel the injections. The bad news: recurring diarrhea, constipation, and stomach gas and belching."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Ozempic for almost a year now. Moved up the rank of doses and was on 1 mg for 6 months. The side effects I noticed mostly were the burping and constipation. Bathroom issues might be caused by another med. Lowered my levels substantially. Per my doctor, increased to 2 mg as of yesterday. So far, so good. Not interested in eating, but made myself eat some chicken noodle soup and really tired today. This med has worked for me in the best way possible. Eat small, frequent, light meals. Keep in contact with your doctor concerning your other meds. I am on 1000 mg Metformin, don't want levels dropping too low. You know your body and what is right for it. Sending my best to all."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Some side effects of semaglutide may occur that usually do not need medical attention. Acid or sour stomach, belching, excess air or gas in the stomach, feeling pressure in the stomach, heartburn, passing gas, stomach discomfort, swelling, tenderness, or upset. I did lose 35 pounds in 3 months, and my A1C was 6.5."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was prescribed Ozempic for weight loss in Nov 2022. I started on 0.25 mg for one month. I found it slightly suppressed my appetite, and the side effects I had were awful heartburn, constipation, and sulfur burps. Sometimes I felt nauseous. I decided to stick with it anyway and increased to 0.5 mg after one month. The symptoms were the same but added in fatigue. A month later, I bumped up to 0.75, and the burps, fatigue, and heartburn subsided. I went to 1 mg two months later, and all symptoms disappeared. I started at 192 lbs on Nov 15th, and as of May 1st, I weigh 152 lbs. I found my sugar cravings disappeared once I started taking 1 mg. Up until then, I still craved sugary foods. I lost all interest in greasy food (fries, anything deep-fried, etc.) from 0.5 mg and up. I personally love Ozempic. The side effects at the beginning were worth it for me, but from the sounds of it, mine weren’t that bad. I have never once thrown up."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking semaglutide for 13 months now. I started very slowly and didn't notice much for the first few months. At the 1 mg dose, I started to lose 1.5 to 2 lbs every couple of weeks. At about 6 months, the weight started to really come off. I started at 230 lbs (5'8", 50-year-old female) with high blood pressure and now am stable at 170, normal BP. I have had some side effects: burping, nausea, sleeplessness, and 6 months after losing 45 lbs, my hair did start to fall out. Now, at 13 months, hair loss has stopped, and it's starting to grow back. After 12 months, my insurance stopped covering it. Within two weeks of stopping it, I started to feel the familiar obsession with eating coming back. I had to start over with Ozempic, which my insurance covers. I don't love that I will need to take this forever, but I also appreciate that it has totally changed my life. I am getting a lot of exercises; I still love food - but not obsessively. My brain can focus on other things now! It's a lifesaver for me."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am in my late 50s, but I feel young for my age. I have always maintained a decent body, but my health has deteriorated over the years. I gained more weight than I should have due to a prescription drug called Seroquel that I was taking under the care of my previous doctor. However, my new doctor discovered that I had borderline type 2 diabetes, and my legs were starting to hurt. Five weeks ago, I weighed 182 lbs, but I have now lost 23 lbs and weigh 159 lbs. This weight loss has been made possible by a medication called Ozempic, which has been a godsend for me. It does exactly what it promises to do by making me feel full throughout the day. Even if I eat a muffin in the morning, I cannot eat for the rest of the day. The only side effects I have experienced are sulfur burps, gas, and nausea two days after injection. I am supposed to increase my dosage to 1 mg, but I plan to stay on 5 mg for a few more weeks. I have noticed that a few days after my injection, which is every Wednesday, I feel sick, but I have not vomited. I have stocked up on Gravol and Gas-X, which have been very helpful. I am thrilled to have lost 30 lbs in just five weeks!"

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I'm on week 2 of using Ozempic for weight loss. I have suffered very little side effects because I take probiotics and magnesium and a water pill. My 3rd injection will be tomorrow, and it seems that Ozempic is just starting to kick in and work. First week, I never lost my appetite and did not fill up fast. 2nd week, I started to lose my appetite and feel full rather quickly. Also, a couple of side effects popped up in the past 2 days - but they are not bad and don't last: nausea (lasts only a couple of minutes and not that bad), burping (no weird tastes) that makes me feel relieved. I lost 5 pounds since I started this on July 15th. I actually look forward to my 3rd dose tomorrow and increasing after my 4th. Will update as things change."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Nausea, diarrhea, constipation, sulfur burps, fatigue, loss of appetite, super sensitive to smells, I have to make myself eat enough. It's like morning sickness, only it's 24/7. Zofran helps for about 6 hours. Cannot tolerate much besides chicken broth and Brussels sprouts. No fried, fatty, oily, spicy foods. Need to stay hydrated with water. Ginger ale helps. I'm up to a 1 mg dose and 14th week. This nausea is constant and impacts my daily routine significantly. However, it is the only effective weight loss option that's worked in 26 years of diets and exercise and eating healthy. I will not give up. The weight is killing me, and I needed this medication. I started at 221 lbs. and now I'm at 194.3 lbs. BMI is close to pre-obesity, and I know I'll cry the day I hit it. Full disclosure, I'm disabled in part due to my weight. There is no way I could have worked and taken Wegovy with the severity of my nausea and fatigue. But the mobility and breathing issues are improving."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Stay away from beef! It's a game changer. I have lost 43 lbs over 4 months. It really works for me. I am at 1 mg/week now, and I feel full constantly. I eat around 1/4 of what I usually did, and my sweet tooth is a lot less than it used to be. I had a lot of side effects with sulfur burps, diarrhea, and vomiting at the beginning. I found a 100% correlation with eating beef and the nasty side effects. Even as little as 1 oz! I had been feeling fine for a month when I last week tried 1 bite of a nice steak! 24 hours later, the terrible side effects were back, and I lost 5 lbs over 24 hours (mostly fluids). So stick to chicken and fish. I have not dared to test pork or lamb yet."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started taking Ozempic back in February after I asked my doctor to put me on it because of reading a British study on weight loss by semaglutide. Started at the 0.25 mg level for three weeks. Went to 0.50 for another four weeks and have been on 1 mg thereafter. No serious side effects apart from some belching, acid reflux after bedtime, and rare diarrhea. Significant loss of appetite, change of taste in foods, change of perceived texture of foods, significant reduction in alcohol enjoyment and intake, and increased sensitivity to cold. My A1C has gone from 6.7 to 6.0, and I have lost over 35 pounds since the start. My cholesterol is down to 115 and LDL down to 50, something I have never seen before. Overall, the results far outweigh the downsides of this drug and it has provided the most positive results faster than any other medication I have tried before."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking Rybelsus for 6 months. At first, I was nauseous and had bad sulfur burps, but it went away. My A1C is the best it's been in 9 years. I have had a hard time treating my diabetes, as most other oral medications and daily injections just made life harder. Now, my numbers are 6.7, and I have lost a significant amount of weight, 335 lb to 285 lb, with minimal effort. It definitely suppresses my appetite. I've read you can only lose a few pounds, but I feel like a lucky one."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "After reading the reviews, a lot of my problems using Ozempic have been answered. I was wondering why I had the side effects that I did, such as vomiting, diarrhea, bloating, stomach gurgling, and belching or egg taste, etc., but a lot has been answered here. My only comment about this is that I am to use .50 every week, and my pen only holds 3 weeks' worth. I have called 2X after I mentioned it to my nurse practitioner, and the only thing I get is offered a voucher for a free pen. My question is, am I the only one that doesn't get the full 4 weeks' worth of the pen if using .50? I tried to ask that to customer service this morning, and she could not answer my question but only offer yet another voucher. Please tell me if I am the only one that this happens to or not. Overall, I am extremely happy with the product."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have taken Ozempic for a month now, dosage being 0.25 once a week. At first, I didn’t really see any side effects or anything, but then one day I made the mistake and overate, resulting in constant gas, repeated burping, and an hour later, non-stop diarrhea. After that experience, I have learned never to do that again. I now usually eat a big breakfast and a snack later on throughout the day, which has helped me completely cut out soda. I originally started taking this because I was experiencing rapid weight gain. They checked my thyroid and said it was within normal limits, so they put me on Ozempic, and I am so glad. In the morning, I haven’t had a blood sugar reading over 130 in a month. I am looking forward to going back to my doctor to figure out my A1C. In total, I’ve lost 8 pounds in one month :)"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Only problem I had with Ozempic was when I ate late. (Lesson learned.) All the issues were present: nauseous, bloated, burps. Appetite has decreased along with my blood sugar levels. After 23 years of management of a chronic condition, diabetes. This medication, along with Lantus and Novolog, sliding scale, has helped tremendously. Put myself on insulin 15 years ago, the cleanest form of control. But have tried additional oral meds with side effects. Lizard spit (Byetta). Management requires trying new medication."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Ozempic for about 4 weeks now. Started at 0.25mg, now onto 0.5mg. The only mild side effect I have is the sulfur burps, other than that, I don't really have any. The odd sick feeling, but it's not too strong. This medication has cut the sugar cravings in half to non-existent, therefore, I have lost a bit of weight, which is noticeable. Food habits are now also non-existent. I feel fuller for longer. This drug is amazing, and to only inject once weekly is fabulous! I do recommend Ozempic highly. I held a lot of weight around my stomach, which is now starting to shift. To me, it's been a life-changer, and I hope anyone considering it has the same experience as myself. GL x"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Blood sugar levels started getting high 33 a year ago, tried several different prescriptions before being placed on Ozempic (4 months ago), metformin & Invokana. Now reading 6.5 levels, with a recent 7.0 A1C. In the past 4 months have gone from 170 to 141 lbs. I was told weight loss included muscle loss so I’m trying to keep on a high-protein diet and weight workouts. I don’t think I’ve had a hunger pang in 4 months, and eat way less. I do get burps after eating and occasional stomach pain that is tolerable. Perhaps it’s the combination of all bringing down my levels that gives me two things I didn’t expect, clear clarity in thinking (better memory recall) and a lot more energy (as in stable for a good 10 hours and then I start getting fatigued). I honestly am very happy to lose weight and eat off a smaller plate."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "A miracle drug! I have been on Ozempic for 7 months and have lost 43 pounds. Ozempic destroys my appetite. I feel 'full' most of the time, so when I do eat, I eat small portions. There is the occasional bout of mild nausea, but no vomiting. A very small price to pay! I also find that I burp more than normal. I attribute all of this to the lack of stomach emptying effect of Ozempic. My sugar level has gone down, but not as much as I thought it would with a 40-pound loss of weight (I weigh 228 now). I am hoping to lose another 20 pounds at least and am hopeful that will reduce my sugar numbers."
