For Hyperhidrosis "I am a 53-year-old with profuse sweating of the head, neck, and chest area. I started the oxybutynin medication 3 days ago, 5 mg twice a day, and I have stopped sweating completely. What an amazing drug! The only side effect so far is dry mouth. 3 days and I am dry. I am so happy I could cry. I have my life back."

Oxybutynin for Urinary Incontinence "Was on them for almost 3 years. I had my gallbladder removed 2 months beforehand. I then started taking Ditropan and got dry mouth, dry nose. I then started getting spasmodic stomach pains, nausea, occasional sickness, bloating, and constipation. At its worst, I had two admissions to the hospital by ambulance and was put on a morphine drip. I saw my GP, was referred to a gastroenterologist, and then to a specialist. I had a scan, MRI scan, and endoscopy as the medical “experts” thought it was gallbladder debris. Each time I asked if it could be any of the medication I was taking. Answer: No. I was concerned that this drug could be linked to dementia. Reading up on the side effects, all my symptoms I was experiencing were exactly the same as listed. Since coming off these tablets, the symptoms have stopped, and I’ve taken great pleasure in informing the medics of the cessation of these symptoms."

For Hyperhidrosis "I suffer from craniofacial hyperhidrosis. It is really bad, to the point it can look like I have sweat-soaked hair and face. It's the worst indoors, when I am shopping, walking around, work meetings, etc. Seriously, the most embarrassing and socially debilitating issue I have ever experienced. I have gone to the dermatologist for Botox injections in my scalp several times, and it works a little bit, but nothing great. After doing research, I decided I needed to try an oral medication. I am glad I did, Oxybutynin works really well for me, I am so happy. I usually need 5mg 3x daily to get through the day. I get dry mouth pretty bad, but gum or lozenge gets me through that problem pretty well."

Oxybutynin for Urinary Frequency "Great product. I have been on other drugs that gave me back side effects - rash, itching, dry mouth, constipation, headache, dizziness, back pain, etc. I urinate on average 20-40 times a day, approximately every 15-20 minutes. After using the patch, I went as long as 2 hours without using the restroom. My skin is irritated and red, but it's better than spending my whole day in the bathroom. I can't believe my doctor didn't put me on this over-the-counter drug first before spending hundreds of dollars on prescription medications. I have suffered for over 30 years with the issue of urgency and frequency, this is a miracle for me. Praise the LORD."

For Hyperhidrosis "I was experiencing massive side effects of hyperhidrosis being on 85 mg of methadone. I was prescribed 5mg oxybutynin 2 times a day, and the 1st day all my symptoms of hyperhidrosis were completely gone. The only side effect I have experienced was dry mouth, and now I'm about 40 days on it, and it's subsided quite a bit. It has been a wonder drug for me. I'm very happy with it."

For Urinary Incontinence "I’m on the oxybutynin tablets 5mg. I had a full hysterectomy in 2013. I’m 49 years old now, and I’ve been on these tablets now maybe two weeks. I’m suffering severe mouth dryness. It’s painful, sticky, and I’ve tried oral 7 for dry mouth, biotene dry mouth wash, and sprays, nothing works for it. It appears it’s one cause from these tablets. I can’t stop taking them as I can’t hold my bladder. I’m a female, and it’s embarrassing. Can anyone help me with ideas, please?"

For Hyperhidrosis "It all began in 6th grade. My feet, underarms, and hands would sweat profusely. I had to put folded up paper or cloths under my palm when writing, otherwise, my paper was soaked. My armpits would sweat to my waist! In my late teens, the back of my legs and knees would sweat and soak through on chairs. In my mid-30s, my crotch area would soak through my clothes. I couldn't wear sandals, or my wet feet made me slip. I would have sweat stains through the sides of my shoes. I was always miserable!!! I would sweat in cold weather and icy cold air conditioning. It had nothing to do with heat. I went on Oxybutynin in my late 40s, and I am now 64. Oxybutynin saved my life!!! I can wear what I want (no more black) and no longer feel the absolute complete misery as I did for decades. Yes, I get a very dry mouth, but so what? I have water on hand, chew gum, buy dry mouth sprays. I am so happy I have Oxybutynin!"

For Hyperhidrosis "I’m a 19-year-old female and I’ve had hyperhidrosis since I can remember. It’s severely impacted my self-esteem and quality of life. I’m not going to go on about how awful it was because if you have hyperhidrosis, you know exactly what I was feeling and the struggles I would go through just to complete day-to-day tasks. I’m writing this review because I swore if I ever found something that worked, I’d spread the word. From reading other reviews on here, it’s clear this medication doesn’t work for everyone, but I’d just like to say it’s definitely worth a shot. I’ve only been on oxybutynin for a little over a week now, and knock on wood, but I haven't sweat in 4 days at all. I’m still in disbelief, I’m so thrilled I have my life back. Would 100% recommend. I do have dry mouth and eyes, but oh wow, what a small price to pay."

For Hyperhidrosis "I also have been a terrible sweater, for years now my would sweat on my back, chest, face, even stomach. It was starting to affect my personal life as I was so hesitant just to hug people. I would always wear a fitted tank top to help from showing through on my clothes. I always wore black just to hide it. I asked my PCP about this medication and as soon as I took it the next day 100% of a difference! Yes, the side effects are dry mouth and I notice my face seems to be on the drier side but I will take that ANY day over the sweating. I can’t wait until summer when I am out in the sun, that will be the real test, but so far I am so happy."

For Hyperhidrosis "Have had excessive sweating since puberty. Any change in outside temp on skin, exertion, stress, etc. brings on a large drop of sweating throughout my hair, face, and neck so bad that I look like I just came out of a shower with my clothes on, except that the drops just keep on dropping. My hyperhidrosis stems from thyroid disease, lupus, type II diabetes, high-dose prednisone, fibromyalgia, stenosis, severe sciatica, and extreme pain to name just a few of my ailments... But I live with these things - they're manageable. But the sweating is horrendous. People kept asking me if I needed help because I look like I'm having a heart attack. My endo put me on oxybutynin 5mg/2 day 3 weeks ago, and for the last 3 weeks I barely sweat. Now instead of sweating, I'm crying tears of joy! Yes, my side effects include dry mouth, skin, and eyes; dizziness; weakness; sleepiness; but all these are manageable. I can go out in public again! Get out amongst the living, so to speak! Get dry... Get happy. Good luck."

For Hyperhidrosis "I have been on Oxybutynin for hyperhidrosis since September of 2013. It has changed my life. I went to Mexico this past December and was amazed at how much less sweating I had. Prior, I was becoming a recluse as it was so embarrassing to go out in public. My air conditioner ran non-stop all summer! Every now and then I 'break' out in a sweat, but it is mild and not a big deal. The one side effect I have with it is that after taking 2 x 5mg a day I get extremely tired and feel kind of like I am 'out of it'. I now take it at bedtime, as it actually helps me fall asleep quicker (I had terrible insomnia as well). Mouth is very dry, but it has forced me to increase my water intake, which is good anyway. This is such a relief!"

For Urinary Frequency "I started taking oxybutynin a year and a half ago. I was constantly getting up every hour all night long and getting very little sleep. I am now able to sleep 4 to 5 hours and not have to run the minute I wake up into the bathroom. It has been such a relief. The lack of sleep has been going on for 4 years and was just getting worse. Yes, I do get a little bit of dry mouth, but some of my other medications have that same side effect, so I just use Biotene to solve that problem. I wish I had known about this drug years ago. Mine is a prescription in New York State and it is covered by Medicare and is very reasonable."

I have so much urge to pee, but very little comes out. Please, if you love your body, avoid this medicine. Other side effects are sore throat and extremely dry mouth. Not worth it."

For Hyperhidrosis "I started taking oxybutynin 2 weeks ago after years of suffering from head and facial sweating. I asked my doctor if I could try it to see if it helped with my sweats. I am so glad that I did. What a difference it has made, sweats are totally gone. Yes, I do have a very dry mouth, but it's a small price to pay. I know this medication does not work for everyone, but thankfully it worked for me."

For Hyperhidrosis "What a difference oxybutynin has made to my quality of life. I started developing symptoms of craniofacial hyperhidrosis (sweating) around 10 years ago in school. I would sit there in class and start to panic that I might suddenly burst out sweating. This continued for the next 10 years and made social situations really awkward, and my anxiety grew with this. I would turn to alcohol as much as possible to try and remain calm, as I just knew the slightest trigger would set me off. This disease has had such a negative impact on my life, and I took it upon myself 12 months ago to do everything I could to get some relief. I started with the Driclor and then even had Botox, none of which worked. I finally found oxybutynin for sweating through this forum and got prescribed it from the doc. What a difference to my life it has made, and the sweating has almost completely stopped. Highly recommend this drug to anyone that suffers from this disease, and the dry mouth subsides after a few weeks."

Oxybutynin for Urinary Frequency "It definitely helps with 'urgency' - I can now hang on for a while (up to an hour), whereas before I had to go immediately. My main concern with it is a feeling of vagueness and slight difficulty focusing mentally, starting around an hour after I take it and lasting 2-3 hours. It seems to be increasing. I am concerned enough about this that I am considering stopping Ditropan. Another side effect is a dry mouth. I need to have frequent sips of water, and the dryness wakes me up 2-3 times a night."

For Urinary Frequency "I started oxybutynin 5 mg 3 times a day two months ago for bladder control due to MS. Previously, I had been on Tolterodine, but when I went on Medicare, they did not want to cover it at first. However, I got an exception to use it, but still decided to try oxybutynin because it cost $2 compared to $163 a month for the Tolterodine. The oxybutynin does help with the frequency of needing to urinate, however, the side effects I experienced have made me decide to go 'cold turkey' for a while and see how I get along. I had a dry mouth, dry skin, and unusually dry and cracked fingertips, gas, loose bowels, heartburn, bloating, and burping. Additionally, when I did have to urinate, I had a hard time getting started and making sure my bladder was empty. That could be a combination of MS symptoms and drug side effects, but I did not have that feeling on Tolterodine."

For Urinary Frequency "I'm taking oxybutynin (5 mg tab) once a day at bedtime. So far, I am loving this medication. I have some trouble with sleeping, so this medication helps me fall asleep. I'm taking the lowest dose, so I really don't have the dry mouth problem. The best part is now I'm going 5 hours or more at night before peeing. I'm getting a much better night’s sleep. Insurance rates this as a tier 1 medication, so my cost is only 10 bucks a month. So, not having to get up every 2 hours to pee is outweighing any side effects."

For Hyperhidrosis "I began taking oxybutynin/Teva around June 2017 after suffering severe hyperhidrosis for nine years from methadone use. Prior to beginning oxybutynin, I was so embarrassed about my hyperhidrosis that I found myself working outdoor solitary jobs (if working at all), shopping at odd hours, avoiding restaurants, malls, farmers markets, parties, etc. My life was incredibly restricted. Ten milligrams a day of oxybutynin has, quite literally, given me my life back. The only penalty I pay is slight dry mouth on occasion. Do not be afraid to suggest this med to your doctor. Most are unaware of its use for this issue."

For Urinary Frequency "I have been on this for 1 week, and yes, it is working. I don't have the overwhelming urges and can sleep right through - great! BUT, I am hating the side effects! Constant dry mouth (Ok, I take water and chew gum), but I feel like my stomach is constantly full, have almost constant heartburn, and sometimes when eating, I feel like I am having a mild panic attack and can barely breathe. This is frustrating to say the least, and I am fed up feeling so fat with this drug! Not sure whether to carry on or end taking this. Anyone else feel these symptoms - especially the difficult to swallow/breathe/panic bit? Many thanks"

For Urinary Frequency "I'm a big guy, so the PA started me out on 10 mg once a day. Worked like a charm within a couple of days. My urge to urinate went completely away. Life was great for about two weeks until I started having moderate/severe nausea/upset stomach around the clock. I considered the dosage being a little too high, so I kicked it back to 5 mg. The stomach upset-ness went down but not away. Sometimes I'll wake up in the morning with extreme dry mouth and a splitting headache. I'm probably gonna request a new med."

The only side effect I am experiencing is a dry mouth, which is a small price to pay for in exchange for stopping the sweating. This medication has changed my life! I would give a 10 out of 10. For Hyperhidrosis "I have been on this medication for about 2 weeks, and it is a real life changer!! I have to say, though, that I first got Oxybutynin XL and that didn’t help at all. So when I went back to my doctor, she said that I probably needed the normal Oxybutynin. The one with XL is for extended release, and the normal one is for short release, and that helps most with the sweating. I cannot even begin to tell you how much this changed my life!!! Yes, I have a dry mouth and sometimes a little blurry vision, but I will take that any day over the sweating. Hope you guys try it out, I give it a 10!!!!"

For Hyperhidrosis "I have suffered excessive sweating most of my life. It started when I was around 6 years old. My hands and feet were constantly wet, I recall my mother calling me a frog, lol. A few years ago, it became out of control. I had sweat dripping down my back, my hair, my head, my groin, literally, my whole body was constantly wet. Omg, when I went on oxybutynin 5 mg, it stopped. I've been on it for 3 weeks and am beginning to slightly sweat again, which means I will go onto 10 mg. The side effects I get are a very dry mouth and drowsiness, however, I cut back my dosage and slowly increased it. I found this to limit the side effects. This medication has changed my life. I feel normal and can wear my normal clothes and now feel the cold and am so excited to wear a coat."
