For Urinary Incontinence "I’m on the oxybutynin tablets 5mg. I had a full hysterectomy in 2013. I’m 49 years old now, and I’ve been on these tablets now maybe two weeks. I’m suffering severe mouth dryness. It’s painful, sticky, and I’ve tried oral 7 for dry mouth, biotene dry mouth wash, and sprays, nothing works for it. It appears it’s one cause from these tablets. I can’t stop taking them as I can’t hold my bladder. I’m a female, and it’s embarrassing. Can anyone help me with ideas, please?"

For Hyperhidrosis "I've been on methadone maintenance for 5 years. Shortly after starting, I quickly realized it was making me sweat profusely on my face and neck. The sweating would start if I exerted myself any amount or was in the smallest amount of heat. I read about methadone-induced hyperhidrosis, and I tried the vitamins and other treatments. Nothing worked, ever. One day I came across a study that found oxybutynin had a dramatic effect on some people's hyperhidrosis, so I said why not try it. I was absolutely shocked on the first day. I use the patches, and a few hours after applying, I was not sweating, and I realized it while out in the heat of summer. I was so happy. I've been using them now for 2 years, and I'll never stop. You can buy the patches at Walmart, Rite Aid, or on Amazon. The patches are Oxytrol. They stay on for 3 to 5 days."

For Hyperhidrosis "The Diagnose Me episode 'Woman Who Couldn't Stop Sweating'-that's me in the documentary. Took 10 years from 2000-2010 for the diagnosis of generalized hyperhidrosis. From active, social, outgoing, world traveler diplomat's wife to housebound, depressed sweat mess. Finally, in 2010, a reaction to a drug (won't name) for 'depression' saw me bedridden 24/7, sweaty, and suicidal. Never depressed before sweating began! My husband found on the internet a Dutch study on hyperhidrosis and oxybutynin in 2010. One doctor (thankfully) agreed to try it. I stopped sweating completely in 4 days-never sweated a day since. 5 mg twice a day still works perfectly for me. I'm overjoyed my story has helped many others. I hear from some personally. Shockingly, many doctors today are still unfamiliar with the condition or oxybutynin to treat it. I have to explain why I'm taking oxybutynin."

For Hyperhidrosis "I had hyperhidrosis for years, and I couldn't even drive because my hands would sweat so much I couldn't grip the wheel. My hyperhidrosis was generalized all over. I was put on Rubinol Forte for this. The sweats stopped within HOURS of the first dose. I now take 3 mg in the morning and 3 mg at night. This drug is an anticholinergic, which is why it works. If oxybutynin isn't making you 100% dry, try Rubinol instead. I was to the point where I was so uncomfortable in my own skin after two years of looking like I'd just had a shower all the time that I considered suicide. I tried hyoscyamine before Rubinol, which did NOTHING. Please look up Rubinol on this same site drugs.com. It is prescribed for IBS, but its side effect will stop your sweats in their tracks."

For Hyperhidrosis "Thank goodness for a diagnosis! And oxybutynin. The truth is I have hypothyroidism, which gives me terrible temperature fluctuations. I can be cold, then I can be hot, and so on. I also have fibromyalgia, which is an autoimmune disease. And the last annoying temperature changer is Raynaud's. Another pesky temperature changer that affects your nose, fingers, and toes. I told my doctor about my reading about oxybutynin and how it treats temperature changes. I started on 5 mg of oxybutynin, that was a little too much for me. So I take 2.5 mg in the morning, and I'm good for the day. I dripped, changed clothes three times a day, sweated at night, and now I'm free."

For Hyperhidrosis "I just got put on this at 5 mg 3x a day, and today was my first dose. I pray this is the answer, cause feeling sweaty, and there's nothing you can do to stop, makes me feel nasty. I can't even stand for my husband to hug or touch me, and God forbid I go into a public place, it's embarrassing. I read the success stories, and I hope it works for me like them! Thank you all for your input."

For Hyperhidrosis "I have been on the medication for nearly ten years, and it has changed my life! However, if I miss a dose, the sweating comes back. I take two a night because it makes me extremely drowsy. Another side effect I have noticed is that it can make me feel anxious. But overall, it's the only thing that controls my hands and feet from sweating!"

For Hyperhidrosis "I only started sweating after being on narcotic drugs and several other prescriptions in 2005. The sweating on my face, chest, neck, and back is horrible! I joke with people that I don't need to shower as I'm showering with sweat every day! I stopped doing everything, even cleaning, and I was completely embarrassed just going shopping. I now sit in my bedroom doing as little as possible. I've had the oxybutynin only a month, and I don't take it every day, but when I do, there seems to be an already marked improvement! I've been getting regular Botox shots in my hairline and along the back of my neck, but to no avail. If the few 'OxyBs' I've taken are a sign of what's to come, then THANK GOD... I truly believe I WILL get my life back!"

For Hyperhidrosis "I have Sjögren's syndrome for almost 7 years, and the sweating comes along with that. All the symptoms are there: dry mouth, eyes, the sweating started in the last 2 years as soon as the humidity and heat start up until the start of late fall. It has gotten worse where I can't stand around the stove to cook. Don't eat too much hot food in those months. I've learned so much on the computer, and I found 1 medication that helps pretty much. It is a towelette that you dab on your body, it's called SweatBlock, and it's pretty good. Also, my rheumatologist put me on oxybutynin. So far, so good. Don't sweat at night, and thankful for that. Good luck to all, can't wait for winter here in N.C."

For Hyperhidrosis "I’ve had hyperhidrosis since I can remember in my hands, feet, armpits, back of my legs. I’ve tried the electric current, Botox injections, everything that was recommended by the doctors, deodorant, etc. Then I finally tried the oxybutynin hydrochloride 5 mg tablets, which I started a week ago, and I feel so happy. I wore a tight top yesterday, and my armpit didn’t sweat once, usually, it would be soaked. My hands and feet are also dry! I have noticed, though, if I feel stressed or panic, my hands do break out in a sweat. So it’s 50/50. I’d still recommend a try, it’s much better than it was before!"

For Hyperhidrosis "I have tried another drug, and it was called Glycopyrrolate Tabs 2 mg, and that really worked well until my insurance company told my doctor that it wouldn't be covered anymore. I took it three times a day, which seemed to work better than oxybutynin does, and I take it once a day at 15 mg. For me, it sucks because I still sweat so badly when I do dishes or just things around the house. I take anxiety pills if I go someplace, that helps me out too, so I'm not so nervous around people. I never had this problem until I had back surgery in 2013 and never sweated as I do now. This kind of sweat has a different smell to it than regular sweat does, I am told. When I sweat, my hair gets pretty wet just doing normal things around the house, and I also sweat in the pubic area and my stomach. I can't imagine sweating like this if I were a younger person having to go to school or having a job to go to. I am retired now, so it's not so bad because I live alone."

Oxybutynin for Urinary Frequency "This is the third medicine I've tried. You rub it into your thigh or arm area (I couldn't do arms because I have tattoos and was told not to because of that). It takes a while to dry and is sticky. I was paranoid one of my dogs would get it on their skin, as they are always on my lap. On a scale of 1 to 10, if 10 is perfect, I would give this a 4. It worked a little, enough to notice, but not enough to be happy. I did not like applying it at all. I am now on Santura and love it. See my review of that medicine. Good luck!"

For Urinary Frequency "I actually take it for both overactive bladder as well as excessive sweating. I've been taking 10 mg 2x a day. I've been taking it about a year. I still have excessive sweating, and I have severe constipation...to the point where stool softeners don't even work. I also feel like I have a bladder infection a lot of the time. I'm going to the doctor in a few days, and I'm getting off of this stuff. It has helped my bladder problems, though, so I'm bummed about that. It was nice while it lasted. Hopefully my doctor has something else to try."

For Hyperhidrosis "I am on methadone maintenance. At first, I didn't really have an issue with sweating. Then over time, it just got worse and worse, getting to the point that it was hindering my everyday life. I couldn't work, I was embarrassed to go out in public. I tried light clothing, vitamins, and cutting down my dose, but nothing was working. I knew I wasn't ready to come completely off of the methadone, but I was getting close to giving up. So one day, talking with someone at the clinic, they told me about this medication, oxybutynin. So I thought I would give it a try, and it has changed my life. I can still continue my path of methadone maintenance so I can continue to stay sober and cut down when I'm ready, and now I can go back to work. I finally am starting to feel like a normal person again. I'm so grateful."

For Hyperhidrosis "I am starting this drug tomorrow. I have always had some issues with extreme sweating, and now I've been on methadone for the last 5 months, and my sweating has gotten even more out of control. I got a prescription from my doctor today, and I read these reviews, and I am optimistic and looking forward to trying this. I'll write again to document how it goes. Thank you."

For Hyperhidrosis "This condition came from nowhere. I never had any problems with sweating at all, so four years ago when I turned 30 is when it all started. Usually, when I was out in public, I would get anxious and start sweating. I'd just want the earth to open up and swallow me, it was so embarrassing. I went to see my doctor and a specialist and got a medical roll-on and prescribed oxybutynin. The sweating stopped under my arms but started on my face and head. It's really affected my social life, as I don't want to go places because of this condition. The pills have definitely helped, don't get me wrong, they've just not stopped the sweating completely."

For Hyperhidrosis "I'm 52, going through menopause, and also on medication called venlafaxine for my mental health. I sweat so bad, it's destroying my life. My doctor gave me 2.5 twice a day, although this week has upped it to 5 mg twice a day. Has anyone had this, and it hasn't worked? Would really love some help to see what else is out there. Thanks so much."

For Hyperhidrosis "I have been on this a couple of months as directed by my surgeon (one 5 mg a day), and I am still soaking all my clothes, mainly back, buttocks, thighs, torso, and underarms. I even have to wear disposable incontinence panties, as the sweat just pours into regular ones and leaves wet marks on seats if I don't. (I am 40, so it's not a big deal for me to wear them.) I had the surgery (2008) for cranial facial sweating, and it was marvelous. Now in 2015, my head and face are still sweat-free, while the compensatory sweating is out of control. I drink many liters of water a day, but with the amount of sweat I produce, I have to keep drinking or my throat and mouth get so dry that food sticks in it. Waiting for word on surgery number two."

For Hyperhidrosis "I was so negative about Oxybutynin as an alternative to Propantheline Bromide (a supply issue from China caused this). From day one of taking, I think this medication has totally changed and improved my QOF. I take 10 mg first thing, but don't have to wait till I feel really dry before doing anything as I did with Propantheline, which is great. I can get on with my day, and I can eat without choking with a normal dry mouth. I'm not sweating making or eating dinner, and at night just relax watching TV. I'm no longer sleeping with a fan on to stay cool. Absolutely love these tablets and am so happy I'm not sweating from my head/face."

For Hyperhidrosis "I am on another medication for an unrelated medical issue. The medicine I am taking gives me a wide variety of unpleasant side effects, but I need it to get through each day for the time being. One of the major side effects I get from it is uncontrollable sweating and hot flashes. They plagued me multiple times a day on a daily basis, and at work it was the worst having to stop and run to the bathroom to try and remedy it. Ever since being on oxybutynin, my life has gotten much more controllable. I recently went on to 10 mg and believe I had OAB before this because the sweating and hot flashes are gone, but I pee in a much more regular fashion as well."
