Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "It’s been a week on Rybelsus 3mg. I feel pretty good (except for seasonal allergies). No nausea, no vomiting, no diarrhea, smaller appetite. I am prediabetic with BMI >30. I would like to lose 30 to 40 pounds. I think Rybelsus will help me. (Prior to taking Rybelsus, I was fasting (16-hour/8-hour) and exercising EVERY day and STILL gaining weight.) I think Rybelsus will help. I weigh daily, and I am beginning to see the numbers ever so slightly trend down. I am optimistic. I will start 7mg after 30 days. I hope to come back here and share my journey with you."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I had awful side effects with the 3 mg and 7 mg. Constant nausea and vomiting. I lost 12 pounds in 2 months. Once I went to 14 mg, I have no side effects. I’ve gained back the 12 pounds and am hungry all the time. My sugar stays low. I’m wondering if going back to 7 mg would help with my appetite."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "After reading the reviews, a lot of my problems using Ozempic have been answered. I was wondering why I had the side effects that I did, such as vomiting, diarrhea, bloating, stomach gurgling, and belching or egg taste, etc., but a lot has been answered here. My only comment about this is that I am to use .50 every week, and my pen only holds 3 weeks' worth. I have called 2X after I mentioned it to my nurse practitioner, and the only thing I get is offered a voucher for a free pen. My question is, am I the only one that doesn't get the full 4 weeks' worth of the pen if using .50? I tried to ask that to customer service this morning, and she could not answer my question but only offer yet another voucher. Please tell me if I am the only one that this happens to or not. Overall, I am extremely happy with the product."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking the Ozempic injection a week before Christmas and took my second 0.25 dose on Xmas Eve. I've felt slight nausea since taking it and very little desire to eat. My BS levels have been 95% in range ever since and have managed to reduce my long-acting insulin by 20 units. I have lost 6 lbs so far. I was astounded it came off in the first week. The only time I have had bad stomach pains is when I've eaten something bad, and I get terrible runs 20 mins after eating, but once I've been to the loo, pain stops. I had vomiting once because I think I overate a few days after taking it. I was super bloated, and a few hours later I threw up, then I felt fine again. So I just eat little and often, mostly grazing and picking at fruit. I was worried about taking this because of the comments I've read, and with having IBS, I didn't know if it would be bad for me. But I have no issues taking it, and so far, so good. It's still early days for me, but I would 100% recommend it."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I lost 25 pounds in six months, and A1C dropped from 7.2 to 6.1. While I didn’t feel like eating early on, I didn’t feel sick with nausea. In six months, I have vomited perhaps 8 times. Small price for a big improvement in weight and blood sugar."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started at a dose of 0.25 mg Ozempic, advancing to 1 mg weekly. The first week, I experienced reduced appetite and some nausea. Within 3 months, I have lost 35 pounds, and my HgA1C went from 9 down to 6. I have, on several occasions, experienced nausea and vomiting if I overate or had very greasy food. It does reduce your appetite substantially. I found eating my main meal at lunch and soup for supper has reduced nausea."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started on Ozempic in January this year. I have been type 2 diabetic for over 15 years. I was on metformin but found my A1C increasing, so it was recommended that I try this. I have had no problems with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach pains, etc. that others have had. I have lost 26 lbs and am using 1 ml per week. I started with the .25, after two weeks increased to .5, and then after 4 weeks increased to 1 ml. My daily blood test has decreased down from around 10-11 to 4.5-6, and my A1C reduced down from 11 to 8, that was 2 months ago. I will redo next month. I truly think it will be down under 7 when I do it. For me, it is the miracle drug, I feel so much better, and with the weight loss, I feel less tired. I am sure it does not work for everyone, but for those it does, it is a very good product. I did have to get approval through my endocrinologist for my drug plan to cover this. Those without a drug plan would be well advised to think carefully as it is very expensive."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Wegovy for 2 weeks, and I take my next injection on Monday. After taking my first injection, I was sick and had nausea and vomiting, but it got better. I've lost 8 pounds, but it does make me have anxiety. I am on a low-carb diet, but I've cheated a couple of times. So far, the nausea and vomiting and the anxiety are the only side effects I've had, but I'm sure more side effects will come later."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "So far, I love it. Did 0.25 mg for 4 weeks and lost 5 pounds (SW 162; GW 135). I just started the 0.5 mg injection this week. I don't have any of the negative side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, etc. Have had a little heartburn, but manageable with Pepcid AC. It has helped curb my appetite some and helps me control myself not to overeat, but it's not magic. I'm hopeful the appetite suppression will increase as my dosage increases. My only concern is that the 1.0 mg will not be available when I need it."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Wegovy (2.4 mg) 5 months ago, weighing in at 417 lbs. Today I'm down 82 lbs. Not bad for no exercise and extreme dieting! Wegovy is NOT for the weak! My first dose almost canceled me completely out of the plan! I experienced severe nausea and vomiting the first 3 days, accompanied by fatigue. I felt horrible, but I chose to stick it out after I stepped on the scale and saw amazing results! After the first month, my vomiting stopped, however, if I ate anything that didn't agree with me, it would come up. I still experience nausea, for which I take Zofran to help keep it to a minimum. The most important thing I love about Wegovy is it makes me think about what I'm going to put in my mouth and if I'm even hungry. I have to remind myself to eat a little something, but most of the time I'm not hungry at all. Most of the time, I'll make a plate and only take a few bites, wrap it up for another time. If you are serious about losing weight, Wegovy is the way to go!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "The first dose I took (0.25 mg) I had nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea for three days. The second dose was also 0.25 mg. Thereafter, the dose increased to 0.5 mg, and I have found that my glucose readings have stabilized to just below 7. I am now in my 7th week. I occasionally have a loose stool, perhaps once a month. My appetite has reduced a lot, and I have lost weight. I haven't weighed myself, but I would say about 6 kg. I feel good. I do need more sleep, and my body craves rest."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took my first shot of 0.25 five days ago. I was extremely nervous about taking it due to all of the negative side effects that I read others have had. I decided to inject in my upper thigh late on a Friday afternoon so that if I did feel sick, I had the weekend to take it easy and deal with it. The injection was painless and very easy to administer myself. I honestly noticed no side effects after taking it, other than not thinking about food as much and wanting to eat a little less. I did push the boundaries on the third evening after taking it, and I did have bad nausea, I actually vomited and felt generally ill for about 16 hours (not bad enough to not work though). I pushed the boundaries by overeating air-fried chicken wings (no sauce) that were a bit more greasy/oily than normal. Those really set me off, and I realized that I: 1. can no longer eat any type of greasy food and 2. cannot eat too much. As long as I stick to my normal healthy, low-carb diet, I feel just fine (so far)."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Starting week 9 with the second injection of 1 mg. I have lost 24 pounds in 8 weeks. The side effects happen about 3 - 4 days a week. The first weekend on 0.25 mg was the worst! I really thought I needed my last rites! I have had headaches, nausea, vomiting, and bowel issues but not like the first-week episode. I try to eat light the day of the shot and take it at night because it makes me tired. You have to stay positive and just buy meds that will help with side effects because the side effects will probably always happen a couple of days a week. Try to drink 1/2 gallon of water a day and stay away from red meat, fried food, fast food, (most) dairy and sugar. If you don't, you will feel sick from eating that stuff. Also only eating one cup of food every couple of hours has made a huge difference in the nausea. Stock up on SF ice pops and SF Gatorade. I am so grateful that I got Wegovy with my insurance and when I want to quit, I just remember how many people would love the opportunity."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I just had my third injection, making it 2 full weeks on the drug. I am officially down 14 pounds as of last night. I am starting actually to see it in the mirror as well. I can't tell you how much of a confidence booster it is to know that this stuff actually works. I never feel hungry (which is a blessing because I have PCOS and used to be hungry 24/7) and still eat at normal times (i.e., breakfast, lunch, dinner) just way smaller portions than I'm used to. I work 2 full-time jobs and have worked 29 days straight without a day off and still have energy to continue, which is shocking with how little I am eating compared to before. I have found that if I stick to high protein and veggies, my stomach and nausea are under control, however, each time I have indulged and followed old eating habits (unhealthy/large portions), it's almost as if my body rejects it and I have either the runs or vomit that follows. In my opinion, it is worth it and I would recommend it to someone who struggles with portion sizes and WL."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Started one week ago. The first two days were awful, but it was only awful because I ate too much food. If you lower your portions and eat small portions, you won’t be sick, but if you eat your normal amount of food, or try to, which you can’t, you will be set with nausea, vomiting, and just feeling awful. Looking forward to seeing how much good I do on this medication and exercise and help."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Began on 0.25 in May 2021. At first, zero side effects, no appetite at all and glucose plummeting. Went up to 0.50 in July. After 3 weeks, I had 2 days of severe stomach pain, vomiting (which I never do), and weakness. Was supposed to take an injection that day, but I did not. The next day, went back to 0.25 and so far so good. Outside of mild constipation (I don't eat much), I have to say the drug is a great one. I may change my mind if I start feeling pain every week, but so far so good. I see my MD next month and will ask him if I should go back up to 0.50."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Been taking it for 4 doses. First dose was in my arm. Felt horrible, violent vomiting for 45 minutes. The first week was bad but not unmanageable. I stayed away from certain foods, and that helped. The next week moved injection location to leg, no problem since. Moral of the story, pick your shot location and eat right."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Rybelsus for 3 months, along with Metformin and Glyburide. Overall, it has been great, with morning sugar in the 130 range from the 180s before. Haven’t done A1C, but I’m hopeful. Some stomach issues - feel bloated a lot, and one time had dry heaves. But I’ve adapted and found just eating less avoids the issues. A side benefit is lost about ten pounds without any effort, really. Only real issue is cost, Medicare coverage sucks on this drug."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been on Ozempic for 8 weeks, .25 starter dose for the first 4 weeks; it suppressed my appetite, a couple of mild headaches, and intermittent nausea. Moved to .5 at week 5 and have no desire to eat at all. It’s almost a problem as I feel so weak and have all-day nausea. Hard to tell if the nausea is from not eating, Ozempic, or both. At week 6, I also started taking Humira for spondyloarthritis; the combined side effects are brutal. Sick nearly 24 hours a day, constant nausea, vomiting with any exertion. Backed off the Ozempic to .25; the side effects are better, but still troubling. As a positive, I’ve lost 30 lbs in 8 weeks, all from not eating as I feel too sick and weak to walk or work out. The docs prescribed Zofran 8 mg po every 8 hours as needed. It helps, and I do manage to eat a couple of small meals. Weigh the benefits and downsides, but it does work. A1C dropped from 8.7 to 7.4 in the first 8 weeks and should continue downward with prolonged use and accompanied weight loss."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Rybelsus for 2 months. I started on the 3 mg and did fine, no side effects, and actually felt more awake and focused. Then I went to the 7 mg and was very nauseous and vomited almost nightly. It felt like my food never digested. I apparently am pretty sensitive to this medication and since my blood glucose and A1C have been good, I am taking this every other day, which has lessened the nausea and discomfort. I have lost 6 lbs in the past month and that has been great because I needed that. So we will see how this continues, but I feel pretty good."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Ozempic for about two months now. I haven't really been nauseous, but my stomach would just feel yucky. I'm on the 0.5 dose now. I had vomiting and diarrhea only one time, and that was two days after my first dose. My appetite has decreased, and I have lost weight, but I'm not sure how much. I won't find out how my A1C is for another month or so."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been on Ozempic about 8 months. I went to the 1 mg dose pretty quickly. My sugars became normal. I was losing about 5 lbs every two weeks. My A1C went from 6.8 to 5.6. No side effects at all. I’ve lost about 30 pounds overall. About 6 weeks ago, I got sulfur burps, then nausea, then vomiting. I vomited 9 times over maybe 6 hrs. Thought it was food poisoning. Yesterday, I again got sulfur burps followed by nausea and then vomiting. This morning again, burps, vomiting, and watery diarrhea. Thought it odd it would again be food poisoning. I never get sick. Then thought maybe it was E. coli or gastroparesis. Then I happened upon this site and started reading the reviews of Ozempic. I don’t know why it would take so many months for any side effects to show, but it sounds like this is most likely the cause of my vomiting and diarrhea. I took my last dose two days ago. I take it every two weeks. I think I’ll cut back to 0.50 next time and see what happens."
