Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic about 3 months ago at .25 mg. My doctor made me start my 1st dose on a Monday in her office because I would tell her I would try and then never do it. Tuesday morning I was good, then by Tuesday night, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, till the wee hours of the morning. The symptoms slowed down throughout the week. Even though I was losing at least 3-4 pounds a week, a total of 35 pounds within a 2 1/2 month period. My A1C did go down, the side effects are deadly. I like the fact that I am losing weight, but I hope I don't have permanent damage from this medication."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started on Ozempic 5 months ago for diabetes 2. Started at 0.25, then 0.50, now at 1.00, and so far I lost weight - 35 lbs. But I’m feeling really fatigued, dizzy, and occasional stomach ache, diarrhea, and my eyesight has changed. Great drug for lowering A1C and losing weight, but the side effects are horrible. I think I’m done taking this drug. Side effects are getting worse."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Ozempic 0.25 for five weeks, it's great for losing weight, but the side effects are not worth it. Let me review what Ozempic has been like. The first three weeks were okay, and then I started noticing nausea, stomach burning, headache, dizziness, upper back pain, severe constipation, and feeling very tired and depressed. I ended up in the ER with a mild pancreatic attack and high lipase levels. I've had no desire to eat or even drink water. It makes me gag, and I used to drink a lot of water. I'm done with these injections. I will stay on my metformin, but I can do better on a healthy eating lifestyle than on Ozempic and all the negative side effects. Quality of life has gone from a 10 to a 1, and that is not me. I'm taking my life back. It's really just healthy eating, and we can all do that with willpower. Good luck to everyone else."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "My first week, I felt tired and had no energy. Mild, intermittent nausea. Guess that's the appetite suppressant part. After the first 3 days, I started getting quite a bit of stomach discomfort and diarrhea. Anything I ate or drank went right through me, as well as gas. Also, an unusual amount of belching. Hope this goes away soon and does not happen after every dose. I teach 4-year-olds, and it greatly affected my ability to do my job. My BS numbers are not much different."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took 4 shots of .25 Wegovy. The first shot had no side effects and no problems. The second shot was a little different. Mild upset stomach starting about 24 hours afterward with some stomach pain. This subsided within the third day. My appetite was suppressed, felt fuller for longer. In the third shot, I had no appetite with stomach pain that lasted two days, and also felt as if I were going to pass out. I drank orange juice and ate saltine crackers with peanut butter, which helped. The last .25 shot of Wegovy… I had lost 12 pounds by this shot. But within a day, I was projectile vomiting, upset stomach, extreme pain in my abdomen, chills, and dizziness. I was taken to the emergency room. I was diagnosed with colitis that had gone to sepsis. The doctor explained a side effect from Wegovy may cause gastrointestinal problems. Wegovy attacked my colon and in turn, sepsis formed. I will not continue this shot. So many side effects go with it. It does curve your appetite, but I would be very cautious."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Ozempic 0.25 mg since last March. Had a lot of stomach problems for the first 3 months and stopped for a month to calm my stomach. Lost 16 pounds in the beginning, but that has come to a standstill. I have noticed, besides stomach issues, mood swings, mild depression I didn't have prior, fatigue, and still ongoing stomach issues. I will probably stop. While it notes there are cardiology benefits, for me, it's just not worth the side effects. My advice is to make sure you keep in touch with your doctor and tell them how you are feeling."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have started Ozempic February 2020. I experienced severe stomach problems, constipation, my sense of smell became too sensitive. I couldn’t eat any kind of meat, eggs, or vegetables because the smell of them was revolting. Gradually, my intake was bread, cheese, and sweets, so weight loss was slow with a lot of carbs that were easy to digest. Since I had depression and previous reflux disease, my doctor kept telling me it is all in your head. I developed piles (hemorrhoids) because of the abuse of laxatives. Cramps in my large intestine were so severe that I begged my doctor I might have cancer. As I stopped Ozempic, I felt an enormous pressure leave my digestive system. Now I have another problem, I lost 8 kilos by Ozempic from February 2020 till October 2021. Two weeks after stopping Ozempic, I gained 4 kilos again, and I have an enormous appetite."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started Rybelsus with the 3 mg that the doctor gave me. Nausea started right away, but I could deal with it for the most part. When it was time to go to the 7 mg, I got scared of the thyroid cancer warnings and didn't continue with the drug. But my numbers started climbing after that again. So, a couple of months later, I started with the 7 mg that I had. I used it for a month, and the diarrhea, gas, and gurgling stomach increased each day. The diarrhea would wake me up in the middle of the night! I was having 5 to 6 bowel movements a day, I was afraid to leave the house. So, I saw the doctor and am going back to Trulicity, which I had fewer side effects with. I really wanted this medication to work for me as I need to lose a lot of weight. But the side effects are not worth it for me."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "The experience seemed to be consistent. I have Type II diabetes, and I'm trying to lose a little weight, actually a lot of weight. But I have chronic IBS, so when I started Ozempic and suffered bathroom issues, I wasn't sure it was the drug. But I started feeling really not great, stomach cramps, diarrhea, and even a little depressed? Two doses and I stopped. This is not for me..."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Two days after my first injection, I had horrible sulfur burps that were making me feel sick. By that evening, I had horrific stomach cramps; by 11:30 pm, I had uncontrollable diarrhea! My prescriber advised me to eat six small meals a day and that the symptoms would improve with each injection. I left it twelve days before my next one (as I had a couple of social things I didn’t want to miss if it happened again) and thought at first it was better. A headache day one, nausea on day two, but sulfur burps again by day three. I got indigestion medicine, but it didn’t even touch it. That night, same again; cramps, diarrhea, more burps, and this time intense nausea too. I decided at that point it might not be for me! I really hope it helps some people lose weight, but don’t expect a quick easy fix! I actually felt fatter the whole time I was on it as I was so bloated and tender."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been using Ozempic for 2.5 months and suffered a lot from the first day I started using it. It was kind of okay, let's say it with side effects with 0.25 and 0.5, but when I got to 1 ml, I felt horrible. Dizzy, stomach aches, vomiting, horrific. And I lost maybe 1.5 kg in 2.5 months, so in my opinion, not worth it. I am going to go back on my meds for diabetes, eat healthier, and go back to the gym. A healthy way to lose weight and to feel like a human being and not sick in my stomach every single day."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor told me about a wonder drug called Ozempic. I am on the first dose, 0.25 mg. The first day had eye problems, stomach aches, dizziness, etc. The next day, I was not happy: eye problems, chest pain, cannot concentrate, afraid to drive my car. I will try all four doses, if problems remain, I will stop it."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Ozempic for about 6 months now, and I've had the absolute worst gastro issues. I didn't notice it much at first, and when I went to my doctor a few months ago, he said it was just my IBS, but after reading these comments, I firmly believe it's the medicine. I have terrible diarrhea. I go at least 8 times a day, and that's no exaggeration. Awful stomach cramps, and I can't even pass gas anymore, literally, I shart. I'm weak and low energy. I've lost 20 lbs, but it's because I'm pooping it away. It helps curb my appetite, and my sugar is good and my A1C is down, but I can't continue this medication. It's truly affected my daily life. I can't go out anywhere that doesn't have a bathroom because when diarrhea hits, I have to go right then. So embarrassing. I'm hoping it's not caused any other issues! Just diet, people, don't take this medicine."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am a 54-year-old overweight male who started taking Ozempic 3 months ago to help control my type 2 diabetes and to lower my A1C. For the first 3 weeks, I took a 0.25 dose weekly and felt okay. Some occasional stomach cramps and nausea. For the past 2 months, I have been taking a 0.50 dose, and side effects have gotten worse. Loss of appetite, stomach pains, feeling nauseous, and uncontrollable diarrhea while sleeping. Yes, that's right... I have been pooping the bed. On the plus side, I have lost over 20 lbs, but at quite a disgusting price to pay. Time to either quit taking this or try something else. I now understand the commercials where the people say 'O.' It's because 'O, I pooped my pants again.'"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Serious stomach issues, cramping, bloating, severe constipation, nausea, no appetite, rashes, pain in the upper and lower bowel, gas. Loss of too much weight, no taste for food. Have had previous trouble with colitis and diverticulitis but still prescribed this medication. Only have 1 kidney and now afraid it may be damaged. I have been on this drug for approximately 7-9 months. Now worried, but the doctor is not concerned enough to take me off this medication."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have lost 25 pounds on my own in the last 3 months and decided to give compounded semaglutide injections by my doctor a try to give me a helping hand. On 5/16/23 at 9 a.m., I had my first injection in my arm, and I instantly got a slight headache. By 2 p.m., I was severely nauseated and had to leave work early. Stayed that way all night, and my mouth was watering so bad I was standing over my sink for hours. My stomach was bloated and stayed that way for the next day. On days 2-4, food smelled so bad it made me nauseated. I didn't eat anything but toast. Nothing carbonated could be tolerated at all, or sweet, or cooked for that matter. But the worst part was the nonstop diarrhea and severe stomach cramps. I won't be taking this again. Ex-Lax is a lot cheaper! I hope this wears off soon. Not for me. Kudos to those who have no side effects or could stick it out. I can see why this has been so effective for weight loss (food looks and smells disgusting), but the sickness is unbearable to continue and I can't miss any more work."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I unfortunately had a very severe reaction to Ozempic. I usually do suffer side effects from most medications, but thought I would give it a try. The first two weeks were headache, general stomach ache, and constipation lasting 2 days after each injection. Weeks 3 and 4 got worse. Stronger reactions, lasting longer. Week 5, I started the double dose, and I was pretty ill for 2 days. Week 6 and 7 was rough, but I thought I could ride it out. Week 8 had me in emergency twice for diarrhea, vomiting, headache, and major dehydration. I was unable to eat or drink anything. I had to get rehydrated and be given anti-nausea meds on both occasions. I guess my body slowed the release of food so much I had a massive buildup to the point even a sip of water made me extremely nauseous. Ozempic is not for me."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I took one injection of 1 mg as prescribed. I have been sick for a week with severe constipation, nausea, dizziness, stomach upset/pain, acidity, gas bloating. I could not eat or sleep comfortably at night. This is very strong and mainly suppresses the appetite. I never had this much sickness from a drug."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am a 68-year-old male with Type 2 diabetes. I tried Ozempic .025 low dose, to also lose weight. Have been on it for 5 weeks and have had an upset stomach and constipation since the beginning. Only lost 6 lbs. To me, the side effects of always feeling sick and not hungry, which for me led to tiredness and fatigue, even though I take vitamins, is definitely not worth it. Blood sugar went down below 100 for the first 3 weeks but has gone back to upper normal, 140-150 since then. Not worth it to feel sick all the time. I am quitting this stuff."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I had my first 0.25 injection on Monday morning. I have had nausea from about 2 hours after injection, then the severe stomach cramps started, followed by vomiting. I have not eaten a meal since Sunday evening. Today, the cramps have been the worst, and now the diarrhea has started. I work full time, and this is the worst drug ever. Anyone know how long it takes to leave your system?"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started Ozempic 8 weeks ago, from the beginning I started belching. Dose was 0.25, went to 0.50 and the stomach cramps started. I am in 3 weeks now at 1mg and I have never been more miserable. Constant violent diarrhea and stomach cramps. I am losing weight at a rapid pace, didn’t necessarily need to lose. I called the doctor today because I’m unable to leave the house, she seems to think that this will subside in another week and I should be back to normal. After reading everyone’s comments I find this hard to believe!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Ozempic since March 2019, started off with 0.25, then 0.50, then to 1 mg. Side effects: nauseous, constipated, with fever. One month into taking Ozempic, started to have blood in my urine, no infection, CT, blood clots, bladder scope, bladder okay. CT with contrast upcoming to check kidneys, and my urine tests are concerning the PA. When giving the shot, medicine would make a bubble under the skin, then welt up 1 inch wide, 3 inches in length, and at least a .5 inch depth, 36 hours later with high fever, diarrhea, stomach cramps, large amounts of blood clots in urine, 3 times. Called Ozempic, which requested the medication back and sent a voucher for a new script. I have been taking this for 4 months, note I am not a doctor, just concerned, so I believe this could be a drug that has not been fully evaluated and may not have full understanding, or it's an odd situation for myself. However, these symptoms did not show up until on Ozempic. So for my own health, I have opted not to continue this drug."
