Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "First month had some minor stomach issues, to be expected, then acclimated to the drug. Once the dose increased to 1 mg, began having blurry vision due to one eye having a BRVO, Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion. Never had issues with my eyes prior to taking the medication. Two doctors told me to stop taking the medication. Only restarted the Ozempic after my ophthalmologist confirmed my eyes were healthy and healed, this was 6 months later. Now, only inject 0.5 mg, which maintains stable normal blood sugar levels and keeps a strict low-carb diet. I take an antioxidant, pycnogenol, which protects veins, especially retinal veins. Also, being my food intake was greatly reduced, it may have caused nutritional deficiencies, so I take a multivitamin and taurine. Taurine is very important for retinal health as well as heart health."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been injecting Wegovy for the past three months on a weekly basis. I am at the 1 mg dosage. I have been having brief dizzy episodes. These could be related to my Lisinopril dosage. I have had stomach upsets and fatigue, but no trouble with the injecting. I have lost 25 pounds since starting - 220 - 195 lbs. I have been able to tolerate the side effects."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I started on Ozempic when my health professional informed me I was pre-diabetic and had high cholesterol. Because I wanted to lose some weight, I asked her if I could try Ozempic, and she agreed to write the prescription for me. I've been on Ozempic since mid-April 2023, and I've had some success. I've lost 8 pounds since starting, but like many people, I've experienced nasty side effects, for example, sulfur burps, gas, and stomach discomfort. Although I've had these side effects, they have not been that serious, and I'm able to deal with them. I've tried increasing my dose to 0.5 mg, but the side effects got worse, and considering that my appetite and my cravings have decreased, I've decided to stay at 0.25 mg. I do find, however, that the day before my next dose, my appetite comes back. I need to be more mindful when that happens, and old habits are hard to change. I see a dietitian to help me plan balanced meals. In conclusion, I've stuck with Ozempic."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have lost about 15 lbs from my first vial. This was at 13 weeks. I have noticed really bad heartburn. Now on the second vial, I went up to 0.75 mg from 0.50 mg, and on the first day, yesterday, I had terrible stomach cramps and diarrhea. Not 100% sure it is related to the medication, but it started after getting the injection."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I'm on my 4th week, and so far, the only thing I've experienced is stomach discomfort and diarrhea. My stomach usually turns the day of and after the injection, and I have a few days of diarrhea. I must admit that spicy food may have contributed to it a few times. My appetite is light, and my 5th dose will be an increase in milligrams. So, I don't know if the higher dose will come with more side effects. I inject myself in my upper arm because I have less fat there, and I want to get the full effects of the medication."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I just started taking this med for my type 2 diabetes. It seems to work well for diabetes, but the side effects are my main concern. I've only been on the low dose for a week, and during that week, I spent 3 days throwing up, and my stomach has been upset. Since then, I haven't been able to eat much without having a constant burning in my stomach. Overall, it's keeping my blood sugars more normal now, which is a big plus."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am in my fourth week of Wegovy (at .25 mg). I am a female in my early 50s, 5'8", and have struggled to lose weight and need to lose 100 lbs. So far, I have not experienced any significant side effects but have seen a little more fatigue than normal, and after injection during the day only a slightly upset stomach. I have lost 13 pounds. I work out five times a week and watch/track my diet. I find that drinking a lot of water and watching what I am eating (staying at about 1,500 to 1,800 calories) with high protein helps. Because you feel full, it is a challenge to reach calories - smaller meals throughout the day help. Also, find a support group of others on the medication to get tips and ideas. I found this to be very helpful."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Taking Rybelsus tablets, started with 3 mg, then 7 mg, then 14 mg. Was OK until 14 mg, then started with stomach cramps, vomiting, and feeling like I was dying, frankly awful. Stopped, and after 3 days, symptoms stopped. Started on 10 mg (7 + 3) after discussing with the doctor. Same symptoms, feel ill all day, can't eat (have lost weight from 105 kg down to 96 kg in a couple of months), then at night it's the worst, can't sleep, feel ill until about 2 am, then get vomiting and dry heaves, exhausting, so cannot live life normally. I am always in bed resting from a bad bout. I am now, after reading so many good reviews and having lost weight, really want this to work, so will start again at 3 mg and see if I can live with it. It does work, you do not want to eat, but the side effects are daunting."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been taking Ozempic for about two years. I started at .5 and now at 1. The pros have been much lower A1c. I was at a 9.4, now it’s 6.2. I’ve also lost about 20 pounds… very much suppresses your appetite. I went from 175 to 155. I’m 5’8. So in that respect, it’s been great. However, I have had terrible nausea, especially the first 72 hours after taking it. Some stomach issues, especially that gagging feeling. I remain on it because of the A1c and weight loss, but I gotta tell you guys it’s been really rough. My husband is on a .5 dose, and he doesn’t seem to be having these issues."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started with Ozempic .25 ml dosage and have ramped up to 1 ml dosage over 3 months. They started me on Ozempic due to the shortage of Wegovy back then. Today I start Wegovy at 1.7 ml and I'm not even on the maximum dosage yet. I just got back from the doctor and I have lost 9.5 percent of my body weight, my blood pressure is way down, and my A1C level has gone from 7 to 5.8 in that time! One drawback is that I have had significant stomach issues with this drug that come and go. Forget about eating anything spicy or heavy at night, and it does curb your appetite, big time. I probably eat half as much as I used to. Overall, it is the best thing that has happened to me."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Doctor asked me if I wanted to switch from my weekly injection of Trulicity (been on Trulicity for over 4 years) and try Ozempic. He said that Ozempic was more effective. I agreed to try it. He asked if I wanted to start on a low 0.5 mg dose because of the adverse side effects that some people experience with their digestive system/stomach. I told him I have a pretty strong stomach and eat a lot of spicy/hot food, so I'd go for the full 1 mg dose. Started it on a Sunday (2 weeks ago) and my stomach did feel kind of lousy for the first 3 or 4 days. Pretty much went away after that though. I have been accustomed to giving myself a moderate dose of Novolog (16-20 mg depending on how high my blood glucose is) without eating anything when I check my glucose level. That has always worked well for me to bring my glucose down from say 220 to around 120 or 130. With Ozempic, doing that will cause my glucose to crash to 60 or 70."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been taking Ozempic for a while now. While it's working, I find I'm getting a lot of stomach discomfort and nausea, which I've put down to the medication! I'm willing to put up with it as long as it stays mild!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started a little over 2 months ago. I was excited when the doctor told me that this would help me lose weight. I was 235 at the time, and PCOS makes it hard to lose. Was warned of nausea but figured I'd be okay. Wasn't warned about sour stomach and sulfur belches. I started with the .25 mg dose. I learned what I could eat to steer clear of the sulfur burps. After 4 weeks, I moved to .5 mg and again had the sulfur burps. Had to re-learn eating limits. Last week, I moved up to 1.0 mg and didn't really have any issues until the day I was supposed to take the next dose. The discomfort was bearable. I took my injection and for the last 2 days have been nauseous. Went to bed this evening and am having trouble staying asleep. Anytime I move, the contents of my stomach shift and I feel like I'm going to be sick. 2 days prior to the last dose, I was told that my sugar has gone from the 350s to 88-120, but my weight loss is nowhere near what it should be. I hope it gets better soon."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Been on this for almost a year. Have had type 2 for 18 years now. A1C's always in the 6.5-7.5 range. Was primarily using Humalog to control BS. With Ozempic, sugars stay lower. The peaks aren't as high, and don't have to use as much insulin. The only side effect I get is diarrhea and stomach cramps (mainly gas buildup) 12-48 hours after taking it. On occasion, I will get nauseated. I have stayed on .25 and never increased. So far, I like this drug, and those side effects are manageable. As long as I'm near a toilet the first 48 hours, just in case."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "25-year-old female taking Ozempic for PCOS and insulin resistance. I take Ozempic along with a strict paleo diet and workout regime. Started on 0.25 for 3 weeks with severe nausea and flu-like symptoms for the first 1.5 weeks. Felt terrible. Only remaining symptoms are constipation and upset stomach if I make a bad food choice. I have been taking 0.5 since May, Dr. not upping my dose to 1. Started taking Ozempic in April 2019 and was 193 lbs and last week weighed in at 177.4 lbs. Lots of people seem to have very severe symptoms, but I have been lucky and have not had any issues with ongoing problems or anything serious enough to skip work or end up in a hospital."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "This is my 2nd week on Ozempic. I was already having some issues (possibly the flu or COVID) when I first started Ozempic. By the time I got to see my doctor, I had already been sick for well over a week, so no testing was done. However, after talking to my diabetes doctor and taking my second dose, I am fairly sure the Ozempic is causing me some stomach issues. Nothing major, just an upset stomach and running to the restroom. I am currently taking 0.25 units a week. I am going to stay at this dosage for about 4 weeks and see how my system adjusts. It is very simple to use. I was surprised that there were needles with my pen, and they are so tiny. I wish the ones I use with my Lantus were this small. I was down 10 lbs when I went to the doctor, but I don't think it was just the Ozempic. Like I said, I hadn't been feeling well already and not eating very much because of it. But I will take what I can get!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "This is week 1, and I’m already feeling the side effects: headaches, diarrhea, stomach ache, burping frequently that smells like rotten eggs. I get nauseous and gassy. I don’t have an appetite for food. I just started this medication, but I like its cleaning out my digestive system. I am reaching out to my healthcare provider to see what I can take to help eliminate the burping."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I have been on Ozempic for 3 weeks now. I notice I get full faster and do not think of eating as much. I have had constipation with it even though I take a bowel softener and laxative. I had trouble yesterday and felt like my bowel almost got blocked up. Had not gone in two days and got severe stomach cramps. I finally did go with a lot of straining. Went a whole lot at one time. I have not lost any weight yet so far. I am going to check with my doctor on Monday. I am on 0.5 dose every week."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Checking in about my experience on Wegovy thus far. Tomorrow, Monday, May 8th, 2023, will be my second box of Wegovy 0.25 mg. So my 5th injection. I’ve lost 6 pounds since I first started. My biggest issue is diarrhea and nausea. I get occasional stomach cramping. Otherwise, I too have noticed that drinking more water seems to help. Lots of saltine crackers for me. The first week, I was scared to eat. I felt like I had the flu. It wasn’t a good experience for me. Then, gradually it let up, and by that first Friday, I felt like myself again, but still ate with caution. I have no taste! It’s odd. I know I’m eating, but it’s like I’ve lost my sense of taste. I will update after these 2 boxes are complete and hopefully will have a total weight loss that’s up to date. I don’t own a scale, lol."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have started Rybelsus 3 mg for 20 days and now on 7 mg since the last 22 days. Feeling much lighter, but stomach is upset and severe acidity issue. Have lost 4 kg in the last 40 days, but most loss is waterless. So wanted to know if others have fat loss or waterless. But very happy to take this medicine. And planning to continue."
