Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Ozempic 0.25 for five weeks, it's great for losing weight, but the side effects are not worth it. Let me review what Ozempic has been like. The first three weeks were okay, and then I started noticing nausea, stomach burning, headache, dizziness, upper back pain, severe constipation, and feeling very tired and depressed. I ended up in the ER with a mild pancreatic attack and high lipase levels. I've had no desire to eat or even drink water. It makes me gag, and I used to drink a lot of water. I'm done with these injections. I will stay on my metformin, but I can do better on a healthy eating lifestyle than on Ozempic and all the negative side effects. Quality of life has gone from a 10 to a 1, and that is not me. I'm taking my life back. It's really just healthy eating, and we can all do that with willpower. Good luck to everyone else."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Ozempic for 2 weeks, and I'm very tired. It came out of nowhere. I'm on 0.5 dose. No other side effects, but this tiredness is outrageous. Will do another week. Also, no weight lost, plus appetite is still the same. Boy, I wish my appetite would go away."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "My first week, I felt tired and had no energy. Mild, intermittent nausea. Guess that's the appetite suppressant part. After the first 3 days, I started getting quite a bit of stomach discomfort and diarrhea. Anything I ate or drank went right through me, as well as gas. Also, an unusual amount of belching. Hope this goes away soon and does not happen after every dose. I teach 4-year-olds, and it greatly affected my ability to do my job. My BS numbers are not much different."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Initially began Ozempic 0.25mg for 4 weeks. Side effects were tiredness, constipation. My fasting blood sugar numbers were lower in the morning. When I began the 0.50mg dose at 5 weeks, I had nausea, dizziness, and lethargy the day following the first dose. The second day following that dose, I felt about 70% better. With the second dose of 0.50mg, side effects were less severe, some minor nausea, headaches, and the tiredness continued. I hope that these side effects disappear. I plan to take this medication until I get my 3-month labs, and I expect that my A1c will be down significantly. It was at 5.9 in July of 2017. Due to the stress of caring for a dying relative from September through December, it jumped to 9.3. At my next appointment, my doctor suggested I try Ozempic in combination with Metformin 500mg twice a day. I received a 3-month discount card and have not yet checked with my health insurance provider to see if it will be covered. I am an active 61-year-old female, but type 2 diabetes does run in my mother’s family."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I tested borderline diabetic and am overweight, so I was prescribed .5 mg Ozempic once per week. I started it six weeks ago and have lost about 3% of my body weight. I have been eating less and more healthfully, but haven't been as active as I'd like. Right within 12 hours of my first dose, I felt nauseous, tired, and just plain sick. Constipated. I was hoping the side effects would go away, they haven't. I can pretty much write off the two days after a dose because I feel so ill and very tired. It has taught me not to eat too late before bed because I get severe reflux and usually make myself vomit. I wish it worked, but for me, I think it's a no. I'm weaning myself off, injecting .25 mg until I've used all the Ozempic."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am on week 4 of Wegovy, the first 2 doses were 0.25 mg. The last 2 were 0.5 mg. I've had stomach pains and nausea to the point I'm in tears, it aches so much. My weight is going from 221 lbs to 215 lbs, I'm 5'9". I hardly eat for fear of worsening stomach issues. While my pharmacist says the side effects should go away by now, they haven't. I also have no energy, want to sleep, and have a hard time getting my blood sugar above 98, that's after a healthy meal with protein and a vegetable. Not sure this is worth it."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Rybelsus for over three months now. Initially, I saw multiple doctors with a complaint of chronic diarrhea while on Metformin. No one would consider taking me off of the Metformin. Finally, I went to a teaching facility, and they did stop it, and they put me on the Rybelsus. No problems at all with a 3 mg, and then we went to 7 mg. My taste buds suddenly changed, and I could not eat anything that was greasy or sweet, and I could not eat any meat. From the diarrhea, I lost 30 pounds. I have also been weak and tired every day. I have weird nightmares, and I am now walking and talking in my sleep. I have been on the 14 mg for two weeks now, and I was fine up until yesterday. It was as though I could feel my belly swelling up with gas, and it was very painful. Diarrhea has now turned to constipation. I used to drink three bottles of water a day, now I can’t even get down one because I can’t stand the taste of anything. I did not take my pill today because I am sick."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I've taken this to help with decreasing my appetite and got a higher BMI, I'm just under 15 stone. On 1 mg and talk about feeling tired, feeling a bit sick too. I not long woke up with bad reflux and nearly being sick that I couldn't breathe properly! (Basically nearly choked in my sleep!) I don't eat rubbish or drink fizzy pop, so I know it's not that. My throat hurts with the reflux. I really hope it doesn't stay for days or be sick often."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor gave me a sample box of 3 mg Rybelsus for T2D. I could only tolerate it for 10 days. The first thing I noticed was my appetite was gone. As days went on, I felt like I was in my first trimester of pregnancy, although I didn’t ever feel like vomiting. Continuous nausea, lack of appetite, lethargy, and horrible constipation were my friends during the time I took the drug and for about a week afterward. I ended up in the ER with terrible IBS with very painful cramps. I thought I had a blockage from no BMs for 12 days. After being off the drug for about a week, one day I woke up and the symptoms were gone (about a week after I stopped taking it). I felt like myself again. During that short time period, the pounds just started melting off me, and I only weighed 138 going into this. I dropped down to 130. I really wanted this drug to work for me. My doctor tried to prescribe Trulicity after this. No way. It’s too similar. My A1C is 8. Not sure where to go from here."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I took my first dose a week ago. I began to have a reaction the next day. It started with a mild headache, a little nausea. Then, as the week progressed, I began to be super lethargic, tired, taking day naps. Fast forward to Sunday, I am literally near passing out at a wedding. This is not for me. I will continue to watch my calories and stay on my regular regimen. I have been ill for 4 days and can't wait for this to be over."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Run away. Just run away from Ozempic. Yeah, this will help with your blood sugar, sure. It will also give you terrible side effects. I have been nauseous for 2 weeks, dizzy, headache, lethargy, have gas constantly. My guts hurt so much I've cried. I ended up at the emergency room in the middle of the night, it got so severe. They gave me 2 different types of IV medicine to help and a bag of saline. They told me to quit the medicine immediately but also warned me these side effects could last WEEKS after my last dose. Can't even function. If I take the meds to keep from puking, I'm basically comatose, if I don't, my stomach, neck, and head hurt so much I cry."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started 4 weeks ago. None of the bad side effects listed. Felt full all day, have to eat very small meals. Have lost 3 lbs. Started the 0.05 Friday and have felt terrible since. No energy and tired all the time. Have not left my house in 3 days."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Awful. I felt tired and like I had morning sickness the whole time. Was on one month of .25 mg and two months on .5 mg. It never got better. I was constipated and on the verge of throwing up constantly. Also started post-menopausal bleeding despite being on HRT. All of this, and I only lost a whopping 9 pounds despite barely being able to eat even cereal. Your diet turns to garbage because you just stick to stuff that won’t make you feel more nauseous. You will not learn how to eat properly; just how not to eat foods that make you throw up. I just switched to phentermine, and I’ve already lost two pounds in 5 days. My energy is back. Zero side effects and less than $15/month. Read the long-term reviews, people. Unless you are going to stay on this for life, which I would never do seeing how it messed with my hormones, you will 100% gain it all back and then some."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am on my second week. First week (day after shot) I got severe nausea and dry heaving. I was so exhausted and zero energy. My depression got way worse. Second week the same. I don’t think I will continue, but I signed a contract, and I was told I can cancel at any time, but it looks like this is going to be a problem. This has been a wake-up call, and the nausea has taught me a lesson to never eat bad foods again and really focus on portion control. The side effects aren’t worth any weight loss in my opinion!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started Ozempic about 7 weeks ago. Dosage .25. First week noticed some nausea, a lot of gas, some reflux, and diarrhea. Each week, side effects were getting worse. Nausea very bad, pains in left side, waves of heat, no energy at all. In all, just feeling BAD! Diarrhea is bad and a bit uncontrollable. Have not raised dosage due to being afraid of worse side effects. Have lost 5 pounds. Appetite is definitely less. My sugar numbers have not improved that much, which leads me to believe it is what I am eating. I still crave sweets. I have some jittery feelings at times! I am very discouraged."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Dr put me on Rybelsus since I had bad luck with Trulicity and feeling sick every time I took the shot. The first month of the dose 3mg, I noticed I never ate. I had a complete lack of appetite. I was exhausted, had weird dreams, and a constant feeling of anxiety, and sometimes insomnia. I put up with it. The second round with the 7 mg, the first day I was sicker than heck. I felt like I was on a cliff dangling, my anxiety turned into panic, rapid heartbeat, and I was unable to sleep. I stopped after day 4. I called the doctor but she never got back to me. I am debating trying to take 7mg every other day or go back to the 3mg and see if there is a difference now that it is almost out of my system. It is brutal to the body. The warnings say nothing about the feelings of anxiety or the insomnia."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Bad news: I started taking the 3 mg Rybelsus for 30 days, did well. Have been taking the 7 mg for the past 3 weeks, and I have had diarrhea, stomach bloating, nausea, and can barely eat anything or drink. Even the smell of food makes me sick. I am extremely exhausted and hate feeling like this. Calling doctor tomorrow. Good news: dropped A1C from 8.4 to 7.3 in 6 weeks and lost 10 pounds, and also cut back on my 24 hr insulin and fast acting due to not eating. — Is it really worth it though???"

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Never again! I have been taking this for 4 weeks now along with 3 family members, and we all say the same thing. We feel exhausted. I’ve never felt so tired in my life. My son, who’s so fit but has always struggled with his weight, runs several miles a day and is struggling with tiredness too. If I take it on a Sunday, by Wednesday I could sleep standing up. Be warned."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started in December 2022 and on a compounded version, and to date have lost maybe 5 lbs. It's hard to tell as I am constantly bloated, constipated, and have gas pains, terrible heartburn, nausea, and feel really tired. I have experienced these side effects from the first 0.05 dose up to the 2.4 that I am on now. I am weaning myself off of it as it is not beneficial to me."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I suffered from - Loss of appetite - Exhaustion - Nausea - Vomiting (once a week, usually 2 days after my injection) - Low blood sugar events (probably caused because I just had no appetite). When I spoke to my pharmacist, she encouraged me to try to hang in there, telling me it would get better, and it finally has. I was not expecting it to take over 3 months though. My readings are all good, and I've lost 28 lbs, so there were benefits to sticking it out, but it was hard. I had decided that I would continue to take the medication until my next appointment, and if things were still bad, I would tell the doctor that I no longer wanted to use it. Things are better, and my appointment is next week."
