Just seeing a fast-food commercial on TV made me feel nauseous. I thought if that's the worst of the side effects that affect me, then I'll be very happy with that. By the next day, stomach pain and nausea increased. By 4:00 am, BAM! Diarrhea, severe stomach pain, projectile vomiting, headache, chest pain, severe itching mainly on the palms of my hands and arms. I truly thought 'this must be what it feels like to be poisoned!' I was scared. It is now the next day and I feel fine. A little tired from lack of sleep from feeling so sick. I think I will do my second dose next week...but I'm quite nervous of a repeat of feeling like I was dying from the stomach pains and vomiting. Will I continue with this drug?...jury is still out! On the positive side, I've already lost 5 pounds; but of course, I can't & don't want to eat, too much nausea and vomiting."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "First 4 weeks I injected 0.25 mg units once a week. Second 2 weeks I injected 0.50 mg units once a week. I have lost 7 lbs. I am injecting 40% less insulin. My A1c has reduced from 7.0 to 6.6. This all sounds great, but the adverse side effects have me on the verge of stopping my use of Ozempic permanently. I have experienced confusion, dizziness, nausea, unusual tiredness, weakness, passing gas, and feeling the need to vomit, these are the most prevalent side effects. The side effects are interfering with my lifestyle too much."

For Type 2 Diabetes "During the 4th week of taking .25 mg of Ozempic, I developed severe vomiting for three days. I have an ostomy and experienced very high output while vomiting. The vomiting and high-output ostomy have stopped, but I continue to be very tired and sleep a lot. I lost about 15 lbs during this period. I assume most of this was water weight. My last dose was 11 days ago, but my appetite continues to be minimal. I recently had a HA1C, and it was down to 5.9 from 6.4 six months ago. I have also taken Metformin during this time."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been on Ozempic for about 3 months. Always feel full. The uncomfortable kind of full. I get heartburn. Bowel movements were super slow to empty. General unwell feeling after I take the injection. Very quickly lost 10 lbs. I feel super exhausted. I just turned 60. I really don't like the way I feel but deal with it and hope and pray the side effects go away. I will try injections on the thigh rather than the belly area and pray it helps. Meantime, I'm going to get Prilosec and hope that helps the heartburn. I took Victoza previously and felt amazing. But still high sugars."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have taken Ozempic, 1 injection of .25 on Feb 1st, 2020. I have had diarrhea ever since: nausea, gastritis (inflamed stomach), reflux, stomach pain (can't touch my stomach), dizzy, tired all the time, had to call an ambulance as I almost passed out, shaky, dehydrated from going to the washroom so often. Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "So I have been on Ozempic for 5 weeks. I am tired a lot. Not sure if this is the drug or my poor sleep, but now that I see others are tired a lot, it makes me wonder. I have nasty burps a lot. I started on a dose of 0.25 for 4 weeks. I had a lot of low-level nausea, but not too bad except for one day. Then last Sunday, I took the higher dose of 0.5, and I was okay on Sunday and Monday, but Tuesday the nausea was horrible, and I had explosive diarrhea all day to the point I had to take Imodium, and I got my doctor's office to prescribe an anti-nausea med, Zofran, which helped a little. The next day, less nausea, and today is Thursday of that week, and I still have the burps and more BMs than I would like, as well as a lot of gas. I know I have lost weight just by how my clothes fit. I have very little appetite. Not sure if the pluses outweigh the minuses yet. I am probably going to try one more week and see how I feel. It has had a modest impact on blood sugars. I have been using less insulin."

I work out 4 days a week and I just can’t seem to find the energy to work out. I may stop using this drug because I’m so active and the past few days I can’t seem to do much. Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I lost 15 lbs in 2 months, but during the end of my treatment, I discontinued use due to worsening side effects such as: chest tightness, weakness, lethargy, extreme nausea, diarrhea, shortness of breath. I also experienced cotton mouth; however, I am unsure if this was due to this medication, as I had a wisdom tooth removal during this time. My treatment started at 0.25 mg for 4 weeks and then increased to 0.5 mg for weeks 5-8, then increased to 1.0 mg at week 9, which is when the side effects became alarming, and I chose not to increase the dose. At week 10, I did increase to 1.0 mg and decided to stop after, as I chose to listen to my body and not push it. The ease of use was fine as I don't mind needles too much; the sensation was slightly uncomfortable but not painful."

I didn’t start losing weight until I started the 1.7 mg dosage (third month), and at that dosage, I was exceedingly tired and achy. I lost 10 pounds in 4 months but stopped taking it because of these side effects. Four months later, without Wegovy, I’m still down 5 pounds. My insurance partially covered this with a significant copay because I also have cardiovascular risks. I’d recommend only if you don’t experience the same side effects."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Seven weeks using a weekly shot. That part is so easy. It killed off my appetite, but I'm only losing 1 lb a week; I expected it to work faster. I was on 0.25 for a month, then 0.5 this month. I tend to have heartburn, and it has been much worse, but is starting to calm down. The meds also gave me constipation and a lot of gas. The constipation is getting better. I've been tired. But I'm still taking it. I have lost my craving for sugar and have found that I'm attracted to healthy foods, although I don't eat much. I plan to continue on the semaglutide for some months more. Diets never worked for me. This works, just slowly."

In the second week, I started feeling the side effects of nausea, burping, gas, diarrhea, and bloating. I noticed that I did eat more. Make sure your portions are small and stick to fruit and vegetables. Soups and not greasy processed foods. You may feel sick and will take longer to digest. I am currently reconsidering if I should continue. I am not sure if I want to experience the side effects at a higher dose. I feel terrible all the time and have a headache. Didn't lose any weight until I started exercising with a diet of less than 1,000 calories a day. Worse side effects: significant sleepiness, especially after eating, severe indigestion, and GERD. Injections easy to do and usually no associated pain. Am finishing my last dose of 1.7 mg this week, and after all these months, I have finally lost 9 lbs, all in the last month, once I started bike riding and water aerobics. But you have to decide if the side effects are worth it. I am retired, so I have been taking a 2-hour nap almost daily since I feel extremely tired a few hours after getting up in the morning. I have felt generally unwell the whole time I have taken it, although I am able to continue my life as usual. I can't wait to get off it, although they say it may be a lifelong medication. I hope that my body will eventually get used to it."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic 5 weeks ago for type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol and triglycerides, and high blood pressure. I am obese at 5'2" and 222 lbs. I had no bad effects with feeling nauseous, etc., from day one, starting at a dose of 0.25 for the first month. However, I have had seasonal affective disorder for most of my life and feel slight depression during the winter months. I did not feel bad before starting, but from the first week, I was very tired and depressed. I was in slow motion, and for the last 5 weeks, I've felt more and more depressed. My stomach felt so heavy, and I could barely eat 900 calories a day. I realized that was not good for me and tried to eat more, but sometimes the only way to up the calories was to eat junk. I was worried after 5 weeks, so I have just stopped the meds. After 5 weeks, I lost 7 lbs. My cholesterol went from 260 to 237, my A1C went from 6.2 to 6.4 (I'd been working on that before). I will now try more lifestyle changes, and I'm starting to feel my old self again."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Ozempic for weight loss. I paid cash since I wasn't approved by insurance. I was about 15-20 pounds overweight and pre-diabetic with a family history of type 2 diabetes. No matter what I did, nothing made me lose weight. The first month at .25 mg was a dream come true. I had no appetite and felt very few side effects. I lost 10-12 pounds in the first month. The 5th shot was .5 mg. I became so ill. It started with huge belches and nausea. That night I vomited and was so lethargic and nauseous that I didn't get out of bed for 3 days. I had weird sores on my tongue. The next day I vomited again. I had to get Zofran for the nausea, which helped a bit. Almost a week later, I am due for this week's shot, and I have decided not to continue. I still have the belches from hell, weakness, and lethargy, but I am at least able to function and work. Climbing the stairs feels like Mt. Everest. I hope I feel normal again soon."

But I was extremely nauseated and exhausted most of the time. Another thing I found and would love to know if anyone else experienced it. It extremely triggered my adenomyosis. I was constantly bleeding and had severe stomach and back pain. I just got off Ozempic to see if it will settle. Then they took the discount away, and insurance wouldn’t cover it, so I was off for about 4-5 months. All my cravings came back, and my appetite was feeling hungry a lot. I gained back the weight I had lost. Now they have approved the semaglutide Wegovy injection, and I have terrible constipation. Also noticed my mood is very negative, and depression is worse.
