Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "On the fence. Took my first shot of Ozempic .25 last Wed at the doc's office. I was nervous as I couldn't tolerate Metformin's side effects. But she reassured me this was gonna be the answer to my prayers, so I agreed to try it. First day I was fine, then they hit. Woke up feeling dizzy, nauseous, and shaky. My fasting blood sugar was 157. Lower than it's been in quite some time. Ozempic does its job. My BS has been managed quite well. I definitely don't have an appetite. Have to make myself eat and drink. Have very low energy. Tired all the time. Aside from that, it's the other side effects I'm having trouble living with. Waking up in the wee hours of the morning clammy with severe nausea, mild headache, and dizzy. But it's only been 6 days. The constant nausea, dizziness, and headaches are almost unbearable. Not sure if I'm gonna continue. If the effects are like this now, what are they gonna be with the increased dose? There's gotta be a better way!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Have been on this med for about 6 weeks. Started at 0.25, now at 1 mg. I have to say I am loving my numbers now. Have lost 12 lbs, and the only side effect is mild stomach cramps occasionally and a slight headache. I only hope the trend continues, since some posts have me concerned."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I’m into my 5th week and have increased to .5. In addition to diabetes type 2, I have PCOS and IBS. I’ve been doing well so far, other than a mild headache and stomach upset. My appetite is obliterated, and I have to make sure I’m eating regularly. Otherwise, nausea and lightheadedness end up being my trigger to eat because I’ve gone too long in between meals. It’s been confusing for me, as overeating has always been an issue. Now I have no desire to eat and am working at adjusting by eating small portions throughout the day. I’m definitely losing weight, which is much needed. In addition to Ozempic, I take Metformin and Tradjenta, which I’ve been on for a very long time. This week, my fasting blood sugar decreased from 155 to 135. That makes me happy."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Only second week in on the lowest dose. Feel lighter, no hunger at all. Suffering from nausea, wind, and headaches. I would really like to go the distance with this medication. I have overeaten for years and am wanting this to work. Not thinking of eating is quite liberating."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been on this med for 7 weeks. I’ve lost 25 lbs and my daily blood sugars range from 60 - 90. I use it along with 500 mg Metformin. The first couple of weeks were hard with nausea and stomach cramps. I also had the headaches that others have mentioned in the first couple of days. In week 3, I increased from 0.25 to 0.50. Then came the diarrhea. It wasn't too bad, I was just happy that I could go. I’m now taking 1.0 and experiencing sulfuric burping. Ugh! After doing some research on home remedies to help with the burping, I’m trying a spoon of apple cider vinegar. If you can make it through the first few weeks and you can be somewhat disciplined, you will notice a huge difference in how you feel. In my opinion, the side effects are manageable when I compare the weight gain while taking Insulin. BTW - I’m not severely obese. Prior to being on this drug, my weight was 205, and I’m 5’9 and 47 years old. I hope this is helpful to someone."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "When I heard about Ozempic, the insulin is being used as weight loss, then I thought it wouldn't work for me as a type 2 patient. With another insulin, I was tired and frustrated. So I asked the specialist to try Ozempic. She agreed. I have just started this 5 days ago, so far, I have had headache, vomiting, but no stomach upset. With 2.5 mil dosage and regular medication, it's working. Hopefully, it will help me in the long run. Thank you."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have type 2 diabetes and I am obese. I started this medication in November 2023. I stopped using it for three months due to a shortage in the market in my country. I used 0.25mg for the first month, 0.5mg for the next three months, and 1mg for two months. The last dose of 1mg was taken on May 17, 2024. In November, I weighed 91kg, and I have reached 75kg or perhaps even less now. For my health, I feel significantly better while working or going upstairs. Regarding side effects, I experienced tiredness, vomiting, headaches, nausea, constipation, and stomach pain."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Just completing week one at the low dose. I did the research after being given the prescription and expected there would be side effects, so planned for it. I bought antacids and Gravol and waited. The injection site is the thigh, and I got a small bruise. I did not feel the injection at all. I had minor side effects on day one, of a headache and feeling queasy. Since then, only some belching if I overeat. It is like my brain suddenly recognizes I have eaten."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "OK, I gained over 40 pounds due to injuries, then COVID. I started at 257 lbs, today I'm at 237, and I'm on the second month of 0.5 ml injection. The side effects are a pure nightmare! But as I got to 0.5 ml, they taper off. I carry Tylenol for the headaches, and my gastroenterologist prescribed Carafate for indigestion, Pepto-Bismol works too. If you can hang in there for the first 2 months, you'll be good."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "3 weeks in... Initially prescribed for weight management. While my appetite's drastically reduced, I've experienced headaches, some brain fog, and felt a little under the weather. Nausea slightly though it reduced day by day. Fatigue's unbearable. I typically have an upbeat, positive attitude and noticed a not-so-good version of myself just recently. Contemplating discontinuing treatment as excited as I am for the weight loss aspect of it :("

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been taking Rybelsus, along with metformin and Farxiga, for over 3 months. I had some minor diarrhea/constipation with the 3 mg that worked itself out quickly, but I lost over 5 lbs and A1C went down over 1 pt (8.3 to 7.2). Just started the 7 mg dose 5 days ago. So far, the diarrhea is a lot worse, and I'm having a lot of dizziness/nausea/fatigue/headaches, but I'm hoping it'll stop soon. I seem to start feeling worse about 5-6 hrs after taking the pill, so I'm sick in bed for hours in the afternoon and evening lately. Not good, as I'm a disabled housewife with two special needs adult children who depend on me. Not sure how someone who works a 9 to 5 job would be able to handle this transition period. If it doesn't sort itself out within a couple of weeks, I'll call my doctor. One tip: keep some saltine crackers and eat a few every hour or so. I know, against diabetic diet, but that and plenty of water help the nausea."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Thank you all for your comments. I didn't realize the headaches were from the Ozempic. I have not suffered from the runs, but did get the reflux. I have had it before and already take meds for it. It is a relief to see my symptoms are, while not great, fairly normal. I am on week 4 at .25 and will go up to .5 in two more weeks."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started this med last week at 0.25 and stopped my insulin and metformin for now. I told my doc I was scared that my blood sugar would drop too low. Last week, no major symptoms. I increased the dosage week 2 to 0.5, and I’ve been super sick with a headache. I’m going to drop my dosage next week back to 0.25 and see if the symptoms subside. I’m hopeful this will drop my blood sugar to where I can get off my insulin. We'll see what happens."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking the .25 a week ago. The first 2-3 days, I had stomach pain, headache, and vomiting, none of which were bad. I took my second shot yesterday, and the gas was awful. The one thing that I really wanted to do was to lose some weight, and so far, I've lost 3 lbs. My appetite is slowly fading, but I have to watch myself because I'm still craving sweets at night. I have to make myself drink fluids, but luckily the one thing I did crave was Cokes, and I don't even think about them anymore. I love this med."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am on my 3rd week of Ozempic. So far, the only noticeable side effects have been fatigue, slight headache after injection, and it has stirred up my GERD a bit. It seems to be working with me. I am hoping all stays as it is now. Probably lucky on the side effects. I delayed taking for 2 weeks to wrestle with the possible side effects."

Semaglutide "I'm on week 5 in a few days. Started at 0.25 cc inj. Mild nausea and headaches. 5' 10'', 186 initial weight. I'm 40 lbs overweight. I tried to eat right and exercise, but the weight was not budging. Just going up, and I'm very active outside. Today I'm down 10 pounds, it's a slow process for me, it seems. Very little appetite, and you can't eat much at one time or you feel terrible, bloated, nauseated, headaches... but I'm determined to drop another 30 lbs. I'm just surprised at how little I eat for a portion and am completely full... and still the weight clings on. I could not do it without this drug."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After 7 weeks, I've lost 10 lbs. Minimal side effects, nausea occasionally, some headache, probably because I don't drink enough water. Definite decrease in appetite and full after very small portions. One would think the weight would have fallen off, but it's been about 1+ lbs a week. My dose has been .25 ml, on week 8 it is .50 ml. We shall see. I'm committed to losing 40 lbs, 30 lbs to go. I eat nutritionally rich foods, no junk, period, protein-rich fish, venison, and seafood, any kind of salad, but the weight has been so hard to drop. I'm not really hungry and late-night snacking desires, just gone, a thing of the past, so it's a kind of painless waiting game on this medication."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Wegovy was prescribed for weight loss, with a secondary potential benefit being a reduction in glucose levels and A1C. Began at minimal dose of 0.25 mg/0.5 ml. Had virtually no side effects. Also lost exactly 0 lbs. However, this first month included Thanksgiving, so a bonus that no weight was gained. Second month dose increased to 0.5 mg/0.5 ml. Side effects were primarily indigestion, some headaches, and very occasionally low blood pressure, but it included Christmas, so a positive was no gain. Month 3 increased dose to 1.0 mg/0.5 ml. In the first week at this dosage, can finally feel the appetite suppression. Side effects have included indigestion, burping, headache, and a bit of feeling sluggish. It has been very easy to administer the injections. I have been using the lower part of my stomach as the injection site, alternating from left to right side each week. So far, each injection has succeeded."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "This is week 1, and I’m already feeling the side effects: headaches, diarrhea, stomach ache, burping frequently that smells like rotten eggs. I get nauseous and gassy. I don’t have an appetite for food. I just started this medication, but I like its cleaning out my digestive system. I am reaching out to my healthcare provider to see what I can take to help eliminate the burping."

I experienced headaches behind my eye and head, fatigued, no energy. I have contacted my doctor for advice. Ease of making it part of your daily routine is easy."
