Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "2024 I am 75 years old and my doctor prescribed Ozempic for me. My A1C was 7.6 and climbing. I was overweight and could not keep the weight off even with exercise. My first dose was 0.5 mg, which I injected into my stomach. I was very sick after that - nausea and just feeling sick. So, I Googled the medication and found out I could inject it into my thigh, so I did that the next time - no symptoms this time. I have been on it for about 5 months now. My last A1C was 6.3, and I have lost weight. At times, I still have symptoms of nausea and constipation, but they go away. The worst one is low libido, and that's hard to fix. Also, muscle wasting - you must exercise to keep your muscles strong. Loss of energy might be due to eating less. I only eat small meals throughout the day. I hope this review was able to help."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "On the plus side, Ozempic quickly began to lower my blood sugar, which metformin alone was no longer able to do, despite exercise & diet control, so that I was back into more normal numbers. I still take metformin. I had some constipation, but worked through that issue & mild nausea also appeared, but then disappeared. My overeating for stress & or boredom was much easier to manage, I thought about eating poor choices & then was able to push the thought away. The biggest challenge was fatigue, I often am feeling very sluggish & sleepy & have to push through chores like grocery shopping. I’ve lost 5 lbs in 2 months & want to lose 15 more lbs to achieve my goal, so I hope the fatigued side effect will diminish. Easy to learn how to administer from the instructions. I’m on 0.5 dosage & believe I will increase to 1 dosage within the month."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am in my fourth week of Wegovy (at .25 mg). I am a female in my early 50s, 5'8", and have struggled to lose weight and need to lose 100 lbs. So far, I have not experienced any significant side effects but have seen a little more fatigue than normal, and after injection during the day only a slightly upset stomach. I have lost 13 pounds. I work out five times a week and watch/track my diet. I find that drinking a lot of water and watching what I am eating (staying at about 1,500 to 1,800 calories) with high protein helps. Because you feel full, it is a challenge to reach calories - smaller meals throughout the day help. Also, find a support group of others on the medication to get tips and ideas. I found this to be very helpful."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started on January 24 on the 0.25 mg dose for 5 weeks, currently on 1 mg, and have lost a total of 20 lbs exactly as of this morning. It did cause some fatigue, stomach pain, and severe constipation (however, I have dealt with this all my adult life). I am loving how I feel regardless of the side effects. I find intermittent fasting has been so easy compared to prior attempts. I am not exercising more than walking. I am losing weight that I have never been able to lose, and I look forward to continuing until I reach my goal weight and maintain it."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was recently put on a generic form of Ozempic for weight loss. I’m prediabetic and have tried other forms of weight loss programs that were not sustainable. It’s day 3 now, and although I feel fatigued, my appetite is substantially reduced, and I don’t have nausea anymore. The nausea is actually almost non-existent. I only get it in the morning right after I wake up, and it goes away within minutes. I’m honestly amazed by this medication, but I’m just concerned about the long-term effects of it, such as cancer."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "The medical weight loss program kicked me out because their drugs weren't helping. I lost minimal weight, and the weight I lost was trying to come back on. I had already been eating very moderately for years at this point. I would try to get in some walking, but exercise was limited due to fatigue, pain, and weight. When I went on Ozempic, I experienced a slight increase in fatigue (barely noteworthy), I experienced slight nausea (barely noteworthy), and acid reflux (I took an acid pill on shot day and kept my carbs minimal). Immediately, my feet and hands stopped hurting all the time, and the swelling I wasn't noticing went down, and I realized how swollen I had been. I lost about 20 lbs that stayed off and stable. I eat small amounts, and the reduction in pain made exercising easier, but I have stalled on weight loss. That said, my new weight seems stable. Reduce sugars and carbs, and the acid reflux stays at bay. I've been on it for about 3 years."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Just took my last injection of month 5, 1.7. I have lost about 25-30 lbs along with 3-5 days a week at the gym. Definitely curbs your appetite. The nausea is very real! Each month I thought it would get easier. It never does. A couple times I puked for hours. Lots of belching. In the beginning, a little constipation. The first day or 2 after the injection, you can feel fatigue. It works for weight loss if you can tolerate the nausea. This will be my last month. I have a 6-month prescription but I can’t deal with the nausea anymore."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Rybelsus for 11 days now. The first few days were horrible. I had diarrhea and stomach pains, even threw up twice. I am still having side effects on day 11 but not as bad. I’m taking Zofran for the nausea. I have already lost 8 lbs, which I’m sure is not healthy, but I don’t have an appetite on this medication. Before this medication, I would eat all the time, it seemed like I never was full. My sugar levels are as low as they’ve ever been. I am tired and have lower energy. I'm hoping after another week on it the side effects will subside. I have been struggling with weight loss my whole adult life and can never break through the plateau phase. I think this medication will help if I can withstand the side effects."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "3 weeks in... Initially prescribed for weight management. While my appetite's drastically reduced, I've experienced headaches, some brain fog, and felt a little under the weather. Nausea slightly though it reduced day by day. Fatigue's unbearable. I typically have an upbeat, positive attitude and noticed a not-so-good version of myself just recently. Contemplating discontinuing treatment as excited as I am for the weight loss aspect of it :("

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been taking Rybelsus, along with metformin and Farxiga, for over 3 months. I had some minor diarrhea/constipation with the 3 mg that worked itself out quickly, but I lost over 5 lbs and A1C went down over 1 pt (8.3 to 7.2). Just started the 7 mg dose 5 days ago. So far, the diarrhea is a lot worse, and I'm having a lot of dizziness/nausea/fatigue/headaches, but I'm hoping it'll stop soon. I seem to start feeling worse about 5-6 hrs after taking the pill, so I'm sick in bed for hours in the afternoon and evening lately. Not good, as I'm a disabled housewife with two special needs adult children who depend on me. Not sure how someone who works a 9 to 5 job would be able to handle this transition period. If it doesn't sort itself out within a couple of weeks, I'll call my doctor. One tip: keep some saltine crackers and eat a few every hour or so. I know, against diabetic diet, but that and plenty of water help the nausea."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I had my first Ozempic 1mg shot on Monday for weight loss. My appetite is well under control. I am experiencing fatigue, especially after eating, requiring me to take a couple of naps a day. I hope my body adjusts to it. I am still able to function and am actually going to the gym every day and eating about 1000 calories per day. My goal is to lose about 35 pounds and then hope to be able to maintain my weight on diet and exercise alone."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am on my 3rd week of Ozempic. So far, the only noticeable side effects have been fatigue, slight headache after injection, and it has stirred up my GERD a bit. It seems to be working with me. I am hoping all stays as it is now. Probably lucky on the side effects. I delayed taking for 2 weeks to wrestle with the possible side effects."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Ozempic for about 3 months. Started at 0.25, then went to 0.5, then went to 1.00 2 weeks ago. Had some minor side effects (a little stomach upset, fatigue) with the lower doses, but just this past week, I have started severe diarrhea. I literally can't keep anything in my system. It is working okay... I have lost almost 15 pounds, but I am going to adjust the dosage down if the diarrhea doesn't stop. I also have had a huge increase in burping, which is manageable. Overall, I have positive things to say about this medication, but I think that dosing is pretty specific to the person and should be discussed with your primary doctor if severe side effects continue."

Semaglutide "In the beginning, I was taking 7 mg, it made me hungry and fatigued. After 6 months, I moved to 14 mg due to weight gain. After taking it for a week, it helped my hunger pangs. I experienced headaches behind my eye and head, fatigued, no energy. I have contacted my doctor for advice. Ease of making it part of your daily routine is easy."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "One month on Rybelsus. Blood sugar levels are down from 150 to 116-96. I have extreme nausea, constipation, and I am unable to eat more than 1-2 cups of food at a meal. I am rarely hungry. Food seems to become lodged in my esophagus and is painful. I have lost 13 lbs. in a month. Fatigue is an issue. My autoimmune retinopathy, which surfaced after cataract surgery, is worse. I fear I will not be able to continue this med."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "User, I followed the prescribed regimen of 3mg daily for two months, taking the pill with minimal water between 5 and 8 AM. However, I experienced persistent nausea, burping with a peculiar taste, and a sharp decline in appetite, particularly for sweets. I lost around 10-12 lbs and struggled to drink water, feeling as if my throat was constricted at times. This led to dehydration and widespread body cramps. Trying Gatorade alleviated the issue temporarily, but the discomfort persisted. Upgrading to 7mg exacerbated the symptoms, causing extreme fatigue, body aches, and lightheadedness. I stopped three pills short of completing the 30-day dose to restore my well-being. In total, I've shed 19 lbs."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I started Ozempic in January 2022. Began with the standard .25 for 4 weeks, then .50 for an additional 4. When I injected the 1 mg, I was sick constantly. Vomiting, fatigue, and horrible heartburn. I had to stop for several weeks as I was completely worn out. I started again with the .25 and am now on the .50, but I'm noticing I am much more hungry than I was the first time around. I was wondering if any of you have injected .75 and if you found it to be helpful? I am afraid to try the 1 mg again as sick as it made me."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking this 3 weeks ago. I didn’t really have any terrible side effects other than fatigue, but after my third injection, nausea, diarrhea, and stomach pain hit me with a vengeance. I feel like I ate rotten eggs. I’m not sure I want to continue taking this. I might try injecting it in my thigh like some others have tried. I hope it works because my glucose readings have been in the 90s to 120."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on semaglutide for nearly 4 months. I struggled with fatigue, nausea, and constipation the first few weeks. I almost gave up, felt like I'm wasting my time and money. Honestly, the change felt like it happened overnight, I looked in the mirror and saw a different me. I feel lighter, and my tummy feels soft. I struggle with back pain, but it's calmed down already. I feel happier and more active. I'm far from my goal, but definitely sticking to this. My appetite has reduced a lot. It won't work overnight, but it sure does work. Giving myself 8 more months, I'm confident I'll have my body back. Eating healthy and keeping up helps. Love this, it works for me, and it can work for everyone."
