For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’ve had a yeast infection for about a month now, called my gyno, got a prescription for Diflucan and thought all was right. I was wrong. After the itching and irritation came back, I decided on a one-night treatment of Monistat suppository. When I woke up, let me tell you, I was in agony. My vagina has swelled to be about twice its normal size, and now my further nether regions were on fire too. I called my doctor right away, she got me in on her lunch break and told me to never, ever use Monistat because there is a chemical irritant in it, causing you to become more itchy and swollen. Not only did Monistat make it worse, I now had chemical burns on my anus, butt crack, and butt cheeks (where the cream leaked to while sleeping). I will NEVER use this product ever again, and I advise anyone who thinks they have a yeast infection to NOT self-diagnose and just call your doctor or go to urgent care."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Same as most on here. 3 am laying in bed, reading reviews, debating on whether or not I should go wash this medicine out. The burning and itching are so much worse than it was before I inserted the cream. Day 1 of the 3-day process, don't think I'll be using anymore. Scared now after reading about chemical burns."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "The reaction to the Monistat was much, much, much, much, much worse than the yeast infection symptoms to the point I dreaded time to use the product each night. It’s like injecting liquid yeast infection into your vagina! The directions say to apply some onto the outside if you have itching, but it seems like a cruel joke. It will only make it itch worse. So much regret. Itching, burning, and stomach cramping. Lesson learned, I won’t make this mistake again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "OMG! So before I used this Monistat cream, I inserted plain, natural, low-fat yogurt into my vagina once a day. I didn’t like the mess it made and how often it would leak out of my vagina. I decided to purchase the Monistat cream this morning at around 9. I took a shower, and then I inserted the Monistat cream. I’m thinking to myself, “Ok, maybe I won’t burn this time.” Literally, 10 seconds later, the most intense burning sensation eeevvverrrrrrr. The itching is so intense as well. I tried to lay down to take a nap, it’s just so uncomfortable. I literally sit with my legs crossed."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is my first time using Monistat 3, and it works GREAT and FAST. The first night I used it, I was experiencing itching and overall irritation, and the next morning I had very, very minor irritation and no itching, as if the infection cleared overnight. I would definitely use this again! It works wonders."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Lord, help me! I had some itching down there for a couple of days with irritation after being on antibiotics. Wish I had taken a probiotic with it. Took Monistat 1 instead of the 3-day that I have tried before. It's now the next morning, and I've been up all night! For a few hours after inserting it, it swelled up, and the burn was unbearable. It subsided slightly overnight, but it's still so, so bad - feels like lemon juice to an open wound down there all over! My poor pootang! I almost want to go to the doctor, I'm scared! I currently have a frozen burrito on it, lol. Only little relief I got is with an ice pack."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "On Monday, I was hit by a car. I got a concussion. I didn't cry. On Wednesday, I got Monistat to treat my yeast infection. The itching and burning were so incredibly intense, I panicked, cried, and rinsed as much of it out as I could. I would rather get hit by the car again than continue to use Monistat. Please, please, PLEASE, if you have any other options, DO NOT use Monistat. Also, did you know you can get one (1) fluconazole pill for $4, and it will get rid of your yeast infection??? You have to get a prescription, but if your insurance covers a hospital visit, it's so, so, so much better than anything Monistat has to offer. Please don't use Monistat if you can avoid it. Full disclosure, I have no idea whether or not Monistat would have gotten rid of my yeast infection because I couldn't stand the pain long enough to find out!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I never experienced this before with Monistat in the past, but my special place is burning and itching so bad. I want to take a bristle brush and just scratch the skin off my labias. It itches more than it burns 'in my case,' but I'm only an hour in writing this. Who is to say how it will feel in 3 hours or more."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This stuff burns like crazy. But it helps. My yeast infection was horrible, the itching was unbearable. I’ve used Monistat before, and the first time there was only mild burning and itching after inserting the cream. I think they must’ve changed the formula because this time it was like being lit on fire. My entire vagina feels like it is engulfed in flames, and I cannot control the spasms of my body as I claw the bed hoping for some relief. I’m on my third night of the 3-day Monistat. The first time did not burn like this. Each day the burning intensity got worse after insertion, but I believe that it’s helping. The second day the symptoms of my yeast infection were way less noticeable, and I’m hoping tomorrow it’ll feel even better. The pain lasted about 30 minutes. If you can tough it out, it can provide relief later on. Squeeze a pillow between your legs. Grind your hips if you need to, that’s what I’ve found helped a lot to manage the pain. Once it stops, you don’t even feel it."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "DO NOT BUY!! It was my first time getting a YI. I went online to see if I could find a product that would help me, and I decided to go with Monistat 3. BIG MISTAKE! Day 1 wasn’t so bad, I had trouble sleeping. The burning and itching was mildly intense. I took it like a champ. Now, on day 2, I applied the product around 10:30 pm. It’s now 1:30 am, and I cannot sleep for anything. My coochie meow meow is on fire. It is burning and itching so intensely. I’m bouncing off the walls! My kitty is about to fall off me. It feels like I put 10 ghost peppers, 10 bottles of Tapatio, and 300 jalapeños up there!! It is literally the opening of a volcano!!! I cannot stand the pain. I have work tomorrow, and I'm honestly considering going to the urgent care! I wish I would have read these comments sooner, it would have saved me from this pain. I am SUFFERING. THE WORST PAIN I'VE EVER BEEN IN!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Do not buy this. I last used Monistat for a yeast infection a couple of years ago with no issues. Used it last night and woke up this morning with itching and burning 100 times worse than before I used it. Sat on an ice pack for an hour, now I'm in the bath trying to flush it out. I will never buy this product again. I will be calling my doctor's office tomorrow when they open to have someone look at my poor vagina to make sure it's not chemically burned."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’ve only had a yeast infection one other time in my life, maybe 10 years ago. I used the Monistat egg back then, and it worked like a charm. Fast forward to this week when I got one. I bought the 3-day cream because it was all that was available. About 20 minutes after insertion, I was so uncomfortable I could feel my blood pressure rising. This stuff is no joke! The intense itching from the inside and the burning pain I felt was awful. I ended up taking Tylenol and a Benadryl, thinking maybe it was an allergic reaction! I woke up today swollen and in more pain than I was before the medication. I really hope the company decides to take action over these reviews."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Stop. Don’t purchase it. I bought Monistat earlier today for this yeast infection. Put in the suppository around 11 pm. It is currently 12:55 am, and I have been up for an hour with the ABSOLUTE WORST BURNING SENSATION EVER! I wish to everything I would’ve read about this sooner because this is pain. This is itching. This is burning. My vajayjay is so raw and sore because I can’t help but want to get this all out. Please do not get it. It isn’t worth it. At. All."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I got a yeast infection for the first time from taking an antibiotic. I saw reviews online for Monistat and decided to give it a try. I am an extremely squeamish person, so the thought of inserting a cream through a tube was a bit terrifying for me, but I managed. I got Monistat 7 because it was the only one available at my Walmart, however, I am glad it worked out that way. The first three nights of application, I experienced an increase of itchiness and burning, which was rather uncomfortable for about an hour, then it would calm down and I could go to sleep. Nights four through seven, I did not feel anything. Symptoms were gone and no burning or itching when I applied the cream. This thing really did the job. I am glad I ended up with the seven-day because I know the 1-day or 3-day one would’ve burned more because they are higher dosages."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I get frequent yeast infections, and while I usually go to a doctor, I decided to save some time and get Monistat. DO NOT EVER USE THIS PRODUCT. I inserted it and immediately felt like I dumped gasoline in my vagina and lit it on fire. I was in tears from the itching and burning and had to flush it out. I am calling the FDA about this product because it is unsafe. I followed up and saw a doctor two days later, and they found burn marks that were bleeding along with my yeast infection. Stay safe, and if you are reading this and it has happened to you, call the FDA!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’ve used the 3-day treatment a few times in the past and had burning and itching, but it was tolerable and wasn’t bad. But this time around was quite worse. My vagina currently has 4 chemical burns: 1 on the labia, 2 on the side of the labia, and 1 right above the opening. I am in severe pain and cannot pee without screaming and damn near crying. I literally try to avoid peeing as much as possible right now until I can get to my doctor on Tuesday. This cream should be taken off the shelf with how many complaints it has. There’s also no telling what it’s doing to our insides either! DO NOT BUY THIS STUFF! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have to agree with most everyone: it makes your vagina itch like absolute crazy! It feels like a yeast infection on steroids. I didn’t get the unbearable burn like most people, for me, it was mostly the itch that bothered me. But yeah, I don’t think I’ll endure this ever again. Much rather pay more for a one-dose pill. Good lord, it’s miserable."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "The Monistat burn and itch is real. It's been 30 minutes so far, and I am on fire. Some say that this symptom is the Monistat working. Maybe it will be better in a few hours. If significant relief doesn't occur in the AM, I won't be using it again. What an uncomfortable experience!!! Cannot rate yet, only 30 minutes in . . ."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Damn! I purchased Monistat 3, used it last night, and immediately after using it, I started to feel terrible burning and horrible itching. Now keep in mind I’ve never had this happen to me before ever, and I’ve used these whenever I had a YI. I don’t know what they did to this product, but I won’t be buying again, and I’m going to call them up and file a complaint because this is ridiculous. And it’s the following day, and I’m still burning and itching. I don’t recommend using this product. Just see your doctor if you can. I would give it a 0 if I could. And for those saying it’s supposed to do that, no, it’s not supposed to do this at all. This is the first time this has happened to me, and I’ve used them numerous times with no issues till now."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Omg. I have had maybe 3 YIs in my life. I have used apple cider vinegar, which typically works. OTC prescription, easy. This is my first time using Monistat 3, and I am losing it. I am on day 2 and I don't know why I went back after day 1. After the first dose, I thought I was having an allergic reaction with how itchy my vag was. Definitely way worse than the YI itself. Day 2 is a little easier. It's still very uncomfortable. I will not be using the 3rd dose. I will say, however, the morning after the 1st dose, my vagina did feel a lot better. But I don’t think 2 hours of a flaming, itchy vagina is worth it. I’d rather have the YI."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was experiencing some slight itching that I was sure was a yeast infection since I had just finished a course of antibiotics. I often will get a yeast infection after taking antibiotics. Immediately after using the cream, I felt intense burning and itching like I've never felt before. I washed off the cream as best I could and applied some cortisone cream and took an antihistamine. The burning and itching subsided after about a half an hour. I've used Monistat numerous times in the past and have never had this happen before. I'm wondering, based on all these reviews, if it was a bad batch."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Do NOT use this! After a couple of days of dealing with a YI, I decided this may speed up healing. I inserted the cream and instantly had itching that was so unbearable I literally cried because after 15 minutes I couldn’t do it and scratched, which resulted in burning. I rinsed most of it off and things subsided. The next day my YI symptoms were better, so tonight I thought, hey, it must’ve been getting rid of the yeast, and maybe that’s why it got so intense, so tonight couldn’t be nearly as bad. Let me do the second dose. Horrible idea, within seconds I regretted that decision as I had gone ALL day with hardly an itch and barely any burning to a ridiculously unbearable itch that again resulted in tears, itching, burning, and washing. I will be calling my OB tomorrow for a different course of action because Monistat made things so much worse than the YI on its own. Awful experience and awful product. If I ever get another YI, I will never try this again!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "My only symptoms were slight vaginal itching and malodor, so I decided to pick it up at the store to try and see if it helps. Application was very simple and effective. I got some pretty bad itching for about 20 minutes on my first try (tonight), and it was bad, but it’s about 30 minutes later, and honestly, it’s almost gone. Let’s see how the rest of the week goes!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Don't do it! I am not sure what happened to this product, I used it years ago with zero problems. This time, after an hour of extreme burning and itching, I got online. As almost every woman on here said, I should have read the reviews first. Attempted to wash it all out, but I am laying here in terrible pain. I guess I won't be sleeping tonight. They should have to print a giant warning on the box."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I bought the Monistat 7 since I am pregnant and my doctor recommended it for my yeast infection. I have the plastic applicators, and I took a bath and applied the cream inside with the applicator. I am currently squirming around as I'm writing this. I don't understand why it feels like this. I'm trying to stick it out in hopes that it is killing the infection, but I seriously want to scrape it all out. It is burning... not too painful, but enough to drive me INSANE. I mean, I cannot stay in one position for more than 10 seconds. It's like an itch that can't be scratched way up in there. It's literally torturing me. My advice is to try something else."
