For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So yes, YIs SUCK! If you have to buy Monistat, you are already in a very uncomfortable place. I have used both Monistat and the generic brands, and both cause burning. It's unfortunately just a side effect of the medication working. For me, it's no worse than the itching of a YI. But if it's unbearable for you, call your doctor next time to get the pill instead. I don't like the pill because I always seem to get a YI when I'm out of town, or on a weekend/holiday (or both! Hello Labor Day weekend!)"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I got this 7-day cream from Dollar General pretty cheap, around $7, and when I first put it in, it burned pretty bad, but I just sat on my phone or ran around to keep my mind off of it, and after an hour, it doesn’t burn as bad, and I already feel like my yeast infection is gone. It works super well. When you put alcohol on a cut, it burns, but that’s how you know it’s cleaning. You have to deal with the bad to get the good, but everyone's body is different."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Now I know why my doctor advised me to use M7, not M3...! M7 is a lower strength than M3, which is 'regular strength.' The first applicator I used itched and burned like crazy within a few minutes. It was so unbearable I ended up using the bathroom to push it out and then took a shower to rinse it out. BUT...to my astonishment, the next day both itch and discharge diminished - not completely, but definitely and noticeably much less. That encouraged me to apply the second dosage. Except this time I took my sweet time pushing in the plunger. I pushed a little, then paused, and repeated until the entire dosage was applied. It took me a good 10 minutes total. There was a long continuous mild itching, which was irritating, but it did not burn. I took Benadryl to take the edge off and fall asleep. Fingers crossed..."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've looked online for lots of reviews for Monistat. I've used it in the past, and every time I have horrible burning and irritation right after applying. It was worse than the yeast infection itself. It took hours for me to just be able to sleep."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have never in my life left a review on anything. Not Amazon, not a restaurant, not a game, nor a forum. What has Monistat changed???? I used this several times in the past, and I have never experienced this terrible burning/itching. Like seriously, if it weren’t for everyone else’s reviews, I would think I had an STD that I didn’t know about. I am on fire and trying my best not to run to the tub, turn the shower on, and hit a handstand. And wait... what’s that smell? Oh! That’s just my vagina burning to a black crisp!!! Save your cookies, ladies. I remember I used to have one twenty minutes ago!!! Seriously, just get Diflucan."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've never had a yeast infection before, but I went on antibiotics for kidney stones (side note, worst experience of my life), and for the first time ever, it severely messed up my downstairs. I keep a very clean house, my door is locked at all times, the Chamber of Secrets stays closed, so when stuff hits the fan, it gets ugly. After several days of burning, itching, pain, I finally followed my mother's advice to get the 3-day Monistat syringes. I had used Vagisil previously, and even that burned, but it went away eventually. So when this started burning and itching after I used it, it was almost expected. I thought, oh okay, it'll go away. Nope. Nope. Nope. NOPE. My downstairs has become deeper downstairs. It is the worst. It is a lava pit. It is the depths of the hottest lava pit in existence. But with a colony of fire ants living in it. I don't even care if this works to fix my yeast infection, there's not a chance that I'm using this ever again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used Monistat in the past for yeast infections, and its consistency was thicker, and it was an immediate cooling sensation and relief from the YI. Now, using it today, an immediate burning sensation, it’s the worst feeling I’ve ever experienced. I had to wash it out best I could, crying the whole time. I really think they changed the ingredients and made it a different cream, and it burns now."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "What are these people trying to do to us? I haven’t had a YI in a long time, but I know that I never experienced the burn like I have with the 3-day! I feel like I have a very high pain tolerance, but this was like someone was playing a sick joke on me! I’ve never burned so badly in my life! I thought it was just me until I came across this site! PLEASE DON'T USE THIS! We’re all here to warn you!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "DO NOT BUY!!! I’ve used this product for YEARS with much success - until last night! I had a mild YI (slight itch at night, thick white discharge, discomfort after peeing). I’ve obviously had a few YIs before, so I knew this was the start. I figured I would just buy the 1-day treatment and clear it up easy peasy. WRONG. They must have changed their formula because what I felt inside and out of my vagina was like fire. I inserted the cream about 11:30 last night, and less than a minute later, I felt what could have been someone dumping acid in my vagina. I’m talking the heat of flames. I used a towel to wipe excess off and ended up just counting numbers in my head to take my mind off the pain and eventually fell asleep. Thank God. This morning, I wake up, and while I’m not itching or have discomfort when I pee, the top outside of my vulva is ON FIRE!!! So here I am, writing a review as I have a cold water bottle and a fan blowing on my lady bits."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Get what you pay for, I guess. Chose this as it was the cheaper alternative, and I was concerned the no-name brand wouldn’t work. Severely regret it! As everyone’s said, unbelievable burning that I’ve never experienced when using Canesten, another yeast infection medication. I turned to Google to check if this is normal. Clearly, this medication is the problem!!! I can’t believe this is on shelves."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I tried the 1-day Monistat, and my vagina feels like my vagina is a burning ring of fire. I woke up in so much pain. For anyone reading this and experiencing the same thing, I showered to try to get as much out as I could, and then kept a washcloth with cold water on it for a while to soothe the burning. Then I applied some coconut oil, and after about an hour of agonizing pain, I’m left with only a mild burning sensation. Good luck, ladies :(."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Experiencing some itching and burning that got progressively worse, so I go to the doctor and get a YI diagnosis and decide to use OTC Monistat 3. Worst decision ever! 'Mild burning' equates to it would be more comfortable to take your whoha on a magical journey to the sun, being carried by fire ants and bees, and then return to the fiery gates of hell."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I started using the Monistat 3 treatment last night. Of course, I felt a burning sensation at first. I was worried, but I began to think that only means it's working. I'm not quick to write something off because of everyone else's opinion about it. Two more days to go, and I'll give my final feedback."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ladies, it only burns if your yeast infection is really bad. I have used Monistat a million times. Sometimes my yeast infections were not so bad, so when inserted, there was no itching. But when you have a full-blown, nasty yeast infection, when you apply Monistat, it’s going to burn like anything. But it gets rid of the infection for sure."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I bought the Monistat 7 since I am pregnant and my doctor recommended it for my yeast infection. I have the plastic applicators, and I took a bath and applied the cream inside with the applicator. I am currently squirming around as I'm writing this. I don't understand why it feels like this. I'm trying to stick it out in hopes that it is killing the infection, but I seriously want to scrape it all out. It is burning... not too painful, but enough to drive me INSANE. I mean, I cannot stay in one position for more than 10 seconds. It's like an itch that can't be scratched way up in there. It's literally torturing me. My advice is to try something else."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used Monistat for the first time today, and it was okay at first. Then, when I went to sleep, I woke up with the cream all over my pad and on the inside of my vagina lips. I was woken up by the burning of my vagina and ran to the bathroom to get it off and tried to get most of it out. This is very painful, and I wouldn’t recommend buying this."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "First time with a YI. Decided to try and treat it quickly OTC instead of going to the doctor and paying more. Used the Monistat 1 combination pack with the ovule and itch relief cream. Immediately after inserting it and using the cream, I felt intense burning inside and outside of my vagina. I toughed it out for an hour before getting in the bath and trying to remove as much of the cream from inside as I could. Currently laying in my bed with an ice pack against my cooter to try and make the burning go away. Definitely do not recommend and not worth the money spent. Unfortunately, if you're reading this, it’s most likely too late and you’ve already bought and used this product, so good luck."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Same as most on here. 3 am laying in bed, reading reviews, debating on whether or not I should go wash this medicine out. The burning and itching are so much worse than it was before I inserted the cream. Day 1 of the 3-day process, don't think I'll be using anymore. Scared now after reading about chemical burns."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I’m so happy to hear I’m not the only one that had burning. This was the first time I used Monistat and holy moly. I told my fiancé I wanted my vagina OFF. It was the most pain I’ve ever had in that area (and I’m a mom). Definitely burned for a couple of hours, but after that it felt so much better. I don’t think I’d ever buy this again because honestly, that burn is definitely not worth it."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "The reaction to the Monistat was much, much, much, much, much worse than the yeast infection symptoms to the point I dreaded time to use the product each night. It’s like injecting liquid yeast infection into your vagina! The directions say to apply some onto the outside if you have itching, but it seems like a cruel joke. It will only make it itch worse. So much regret. Itching, burning, and stomach cramping. Lesson learned, I won’t make this mistake again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I figured I’d try to self-treat my YI to save some coin...but looking back, I’d pay anything to never feel that burn again. I picked up the three-day treatment. I put the cream up the ja-ja and applied the external cream as directed. I felt instant relief. It was amazing, I was finally able to get a good night’s sleep...FALSE. I woke up at a lovely 3 o’clock a.m., experiencing pure fire. I quietly walked to the bathroom. I tried to investigate what went horribly wrong. Redness. Swelling. Cream everywhere. The sensation can only be described as sitting on a cactus filled with battery acid. I panicked trying to get the cream out, but it was too late. The damage had been done. I took the rest of the day to recover, figuring I’d purchase the 7-day treatment because of the lower dosage. That was my plan. I’m brilliant, right? FALSE. As predicted, this was another horrible idea. The OBGYN was called."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "OMG! So before I used this Monistat cream, I inserted plain, natural, low-fat yogurt into my vagina once a day. I didn’t like the mess it made and how often it would leak out of my vagina. I decided to purchase the Monistat cream this morning at around 9. I took a shower, and then I inserted the Monistat cream. I’m thinking to myself, “Ok, maybe I won’t burn this time.” Literally, 10 seconds later, the most intense burning sensation eeevvverrrrrrr. The itching is so intense as well. I tried to lay down to take a nap, it’s just so uncomfortable. I literally sit with my legs crossed."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Lord, help me! I had some itching down there for a couple of days with irritation after being on antibiotics. Wish I had taken a probiotic with it. Took Monistat 1 instead of the 3-day that I have tried before. It's now the next morning, and I've been up all night! For a few hours after inserting it, it swelled up, and the burn was unbearable. It subsided slightly overnight, but it's still so, so bad - feels like lemon juice to an open wound down there all over! My poor pootang! I almost want to go to the doctor, I'm scared! I currently have a frozen burrito on it, lol. Only little relief I got is with an ice pack."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "On Monday, I was hit by a car. I got a concussion. I didn't cry. On Wednesday, I got Monistat to treat my yeast infection. The itching and burning were so incredibly intense, I panicked, cried, and rinsed as much of it out as I could. I would rather get hit by the car again than continue to use Monistat. Please, please, PLEASE, if you have any other options, DO NOT use Monistat. Also, did you know you can get one (1) fluconazole pill for $4, and it will get rid of your yeast infection??? You have to get a prescription, but if your insurance covers a hospital visit, it's so, so, so much better than anything Monistat has to offer. Please don't use Monistat if you can avoid it. Full disclosure, I have no idea whether or not Monistat would have gotten rid of my yeast infection because I couldn't stand the pain long enough to find out!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Oh my goodness. I have used Monistat in the distant past. No problem. Took care of my YI. Found out on Friday the 13th I have another one. Doc was going to call in a script but didn’t. I figured I can take OTC Monistat. Welp. I figured wrong. Popped it in at bedtime. Two hours later, I wanted to call 911 to get the fire department to put the fire out in my vajayjay. I am now sitting on a bag of frozen peas after taking ibuprofen and making out my will."
