For Muscle Spasm "I was prescribed this med for neck pain and muscle spasms. I don’t use it that often; and only for a few days, but when I need to reduce neck pain immediately, it is awesome. It can make you feel disconnected if your dose is too high. I split my 10 mg tablet into quarters and that will do the trick. I will take it before bed if the pain is so extreme that nothing else will work. Within 30 min, I am sleeping and have absolutely no pain throughout the night and the next day. Experiment with the dosage; I am over 200 pounds and 2.5 mg is plenty for me. It is very powerful; 10 mg will put me out for 15 hours, and the residual effects at this high dose are not good. Lower the dose, and you will see that this is a miracle drug."

Cyclobenzaprine for Migraine "I was first prescribed Flexeril in 1994 and have been in love with it ever since. I suffer from recurring migraines and bad sinus headaches. My doctor at the time tried many different remedies, but the combination of 10 mg of Flexeril along with 500 mg of Naproxen has been a '100%' effective result since I first took it. I only take it when I am at home, though, because the Flexeril makes me very sleepy. FYI: body size doesn't matter to this little pill as I'm 6'4" and 230 lbs!"

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I was prescribed Flexeril 5 mg every 4-6 hours after having back surgery on my L5S1. It was prescribed along with hydrocodone. Absolutely no issues with it while I took it every day for a week. Now I only use it as needed for my back. I have had no hallucinations or foggy brain with it. I'll usually take it before bed if my back muscles are tense. It does what it is supposed to do and helps relax my muscles enough to go to sleep. This medication is not supposed to be used long term, every single day. I only use it once or twice every few months. It's also helpful to do some stretches with it to help loosen those strained muscles. It is also not supposed to be taken with Tramadol. If you're taking Tramadol with it, please stop. That is what is causing your hallucinations. Look up Tramadol, the reviews are awful. I was prescribed Tramadol a few months before my back surgery, and it did nothing for my pain. Tramadol is known to make people 'crazy'."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I thought this was helping my back and sciatica. Today was my 4th day taking it, and I have stomach pain so bad I am contemplating going to the emergency room. I can't keep any food down at all either. This is worse than the back/leg pain."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "My mom, who is 92 and has dementia, was prescribed Flexeril along with Tramadol for muscle pain. After 4 days of taking them, she woke up this morning totally confused and hallucinating. She had no idea where she was and was in tears. This forgetfulness was not her normal. The doctor prescribed Tramadol to be taken twice a day and the Flexeril 3 times. On the 1st day, she slept all day, and early evening sat with her head in her hand. When I'd ask how she was feeling, she looked at me dazed and said great, and then her head would drop back into her hand. The next day, I reduced the meds to once a day. She was still sleeping a lot, but this morning she was very confused and dazed! She is done with both meds. Dementia and these meds are NOT good!!!"

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I took this for muscle pain, and it physically worked well but left me feeling incredibly depressed and hopeless to the point I had to discontinue. Not taking in combination with any other meds that could cause this, so unfortunately, I think this didn't vibe with my chemistry, even though the muscular relief and ability to sleep through the night was nice. I was only on 5 mg."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I have taken Flexeril for over 6 years on and off. I use Flexeril for chronic pain due to a fall and a spinal birth abnormality. I cannot take most pain pills. I'm allergic to aspirin. I find that when the pain is so bad that I cannot sleep, Flexeril allows me a good night's sleep, in turn, I am less agitated, making me better able to cope with the pain on my own. It has been a lifesaver for me."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "Stay away from this garbage. I was stupid enough to try it for 3 days, 10 mg before bedtime. All those days, I was like a zombie. Dry mouth. Crazy dreams. Constant nausea. Stomach stabbing pain. No energy at all. Sleepy during the day and crazy at night. I don't know who's writing positive reviews, maybe pharma people, lol. Do your research. Stay away from this drug!"

For Migraine "I had a terrible migraine and took 1/2 of a 5 mg. It worked great. Yes, it knocked me out for about 12 hrs, but that was a small price to pay in order to get rid of the pain. It just works differently for people. My boyfriend takes a 10 mg for back spasms, and he can barely tell he took one. He is a little under 200 lbs, and I'm about 140 lbs. I do not take this medication on a regular basis. Maybe twice a month, if that."

Cyclobenzaprine for Sciatica "Was prescribed this for severe sciatica and piriformis inflammation. This drug did absolutely nothing other than knock me out for a few hours of deep sleep every time. Bad drowsiness. I was then able to find some SOMA, which is a miracle painkiller drug by comparison. Even better than the Percocets without apparent side effects. Yet, the doctors are completely paranoid to prescribe it, unlike this useless Flexeril. Just check out the reviews on both drugs and compare."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I am a 39-year-old male and injured my back and neck about 7 years ago in a terrible car accident. I have had a spinal fusion C5, C6, C7 and a vertebroplasty T10, T11 and tried everything under the sun including opiates for the pain. For Temporomandibular Joint Disorder "It has helped me so much. I wake up with locked jaw, and the nightguard doesn't do anything for me. It does make me sleepy, so I usually only take one at night when my jaw starts to hurt. Usually, after 3 nights of taking it, my pain and the locked jaw go away for months. No side effects. My TMJ is horrible, this has been the only relief I've had."

For Fibromyalgia "I have always experienced a 'bruising' type sensation when the least amount of pressure is applied to my fleshy areas, especially my legs and arms. I wrote this off as 'just weird me.' Additionally, I am extremely and overly tactile! One tiny invisible seam on the neck of a clothing tag can completely throw me over the edge until it's cut out, ripped out, or simply trashed! Same with sock seams... Sometimes every inch of my skin felt bruised (which was not uncommon). I did a simple Google search, and fibromyalgia popped up! Every symptom, including traumatic childhood causing dopamine receptors to 'warp,' was me. My psych put me on cyclobenzaprine 10 mg up to 2x a day. I take 1 at bedtime, and I am finally able to sleep!!!"

Cyclobenzaprine for Fibromyalgia "I have had fibromyalgia for over 15 years. When my muscles feel extremely tight, I definitely hurt more. Thank God for Flexeril! I take 10 mg before bed, and this helps me to sleep and feel less muscle pain. I tried to live without this medicine for 1 week, and my pain level went up considerably, along with many more muscle spasms and tightness. I do have a dry mouth, especially after I wake up. I do work night shifts as a nurse, this helps me to get better sleep, in turn making me feel better after I get up."

Cyclobenzaprine for Sciatica "I have a very bad sciatic nerve problem, and it travels down my left leg and feels like somebody is shocking me whenever I hit a certain point or walk a certain way. So I started taking Flexeril, and one day later I started feeling better, it dulled the pain. But now I have pain in my middle back that feels like I have something there? Anyway, I still feel pain, but these definitely dull the sharp pain!"

For Fibromyalgia "After years of suffering, a rheumatologist finally diagnosed fibromyalgia. He prescribed Flexeril 5 mg at bedtime. I had forgotten what it feels like to actually be rested in the morning! Much less pain the next day, as well as not waking up to spasms during the night. The only problem I have with it is constipation, but I started Forteo injections for osteoporosis at the same time, which can also be constipating, so I can't blame the Flexeril entirely."

Cyclobenzaprine "My doctor prescribed Flexeril after finding I had a posterior disc protrusion in my neck and degenerative disc disease in my lower back. I must say it worked great in reducing my pain and helped me sleep at night when the pain was the worst. My doctor told me Flexeril was far less addictive than similar drugs such as Soma. I am very pleased with its results."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "Told to take 5 mg once a day - 1 pill. Felt like I had taken Benadryl and Claritin at the same time. Took yesterday at 1:30 pm, it is now 10:30 am the next day. I feel drowsy, incoherent, and disoriented. My heartbeat is fast. Called and told the doctor to get me something else. I will never take it again. Makes no sense considering it’s been 21 hours later that it is not out of my system. This is the exact reason I don't take medications. I could have just dealt with the pain from my neck, than the side effects of this drug."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I had right shoulder, arm, and neck pain for 2 weeks - I had taken Norco at night so I could sleep, but the pain was too much, and I had no relief. My orthopedic doc prescribed Flexeril 5 mg. I took one at dinner, but 3 hours in, still no relief - took a pain med (Oxy), fell asleep a while later - next morning I woke up and no pain - first time in two weeks! Since the pain meds had no effect, I know the Flexeril did its job. I felt a little 'hungover,' but okay - next night I took it alone, and I had no side effects the next day."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "This medication is bad. I was put on it for knee pain. Caused me extreme constipation and headache. I was taking 20 mg once per day. I am not using it anymore. Since the crackdown on hydrocodone (which I used to have prescribed to me), my doctor prescribed this drug. Never again will I use this medication. Check the side effects before getting it from your pharmacy. Caused me too many stomach issues, both digestive, etc. I am 58 years old."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I've taken Flexeril off and on since late '98 when I was (mis)diagnosed with muscle spasms (ER trip was due to a kidney stone). Flex was great at relieving muscle spasms for 7 out of 10 days prescribed. I took it for all 10 days, though the low back spasms were gone after day 7-the kidney stone pain, however, remained. I've been taking it as needed (having fractured my T12 or L1 vertebra when I was 8, herniated discs, etc.-at this writing, I'm 59) for about 6 months, per my PCP. After the first bottle, I told him about the soporific/zombie effects, and he now requires me to take it only when I go to bed to sleep. Flex has a half-life of 18-23 hours. Thus, it doesn't wear off fast. A bit of Melatonin helps me get better-than-zombie sleep. :)"

Cyclobenzaprine for Fibromyalgia "I have fibromyalgia and compression fractures in my lower back and neck from an automobile accident. I have tried everything for pain and stiffness. I changed doctors and she gave me a prescription for Flexeril 10 mg to take at bedtime to help me sleep. For me, this is the best medication I have tried. I had to cut the pills in quarters, however, because the 10 mg was too strong."

Cyclobenzaprine for Sciatica "Brand Name works great. Does the job and not even noticeable to myself that I've taken it. It will make me sleepy once I lay down, but fully functional on this medication until then. I've taken this drug since 1992. Unfortunately, can NOT find this medicine in Brand Name."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "Ok, so I got Flexeril 10 mg prescribed from an ER NP, after going through ultrasounds, etc. for what I feared was a DVT. Things came back normal, so she gave me this. I took one the next night, and about 30 minutes later, started nodding off... but this wasn't your normal dozing off. Every time I would feel myself dozing, I'd start hearing voices. These sleepiness/auditory hallucinations were the first effects. I didn't even notice if the pains were still there because I was constantly fighting to stay awake because the auditory hallucinations started to really scare me. Probably about an hour or so later, I completely knocked out (around 11:30) and didn't wake up until 1 pm the next day. Won't take this ever again."
