Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "Definitely relaxed my back muscles. The only odd side effect is a very, very, very strong hangover. I couldn't focus my eyes on one thing for more than a second. Caused me to sleep about 18 hours at a time."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I had a breast augmentation and was required to take 10 mg 3x a day for the first few days after surgery. Never felt any pain. On my bottle, it warns of extreme drowsiness - don't know why this is such a shock to some. I ended up only taking 6 total and have some left over. It's been 3 years since my surgery, but I'm so glad I have some on hand, as I threw out my shoulder. Yes, it will either knock you out, or keep you up. You'll feel hungover either way. But it does what it's supposed to do; if you're in enough pain, it's worth the relief."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I took this when I pulled a muscle in my back and could no longer pick up my infant daughter. I took it in the middle of the day, and it helped with the pain. Initially, it didn't make me sleepy, but the next morning, it was near impossible to wake up. It was that terrible 'hangover' feeling. It was the worst I've ever felt. I could hardly make myself wake up to get dressed and use the restroom. I lay around until almost 4 pm the next day just because of pure lack of energy. Luckily, I was only prescribed it for a week or so, otherwise, I'm sure I would have quit taking it because of the drowsiness aftereffect."

For Muscle Spasm "I have taken this a few times for muscle spasms due to whiplash and other injuries over the years. I am currently prescribed it once more for a pulled gluteal muscle, but this time I am only on 5 mg once a day at night for two weeks. 10 mg simply knocks me out and leaves me feeling completely hungover and drained the next day. I gave it a 9 because sometimes it wakes me up with horrid dry mouth and it takes me a little longer to fully wake up in the morning."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I had right shoulder, arm, and neck pain for 2 weeks - I had taken Norco at night so I could sleep, but the pain was too much, and I had no relief. My orthopedic doc prescribed Flexeril 5 mg. I took one at dinner, but 3 hours in, still no relief - took a pain med (Oxy), fell asleep a while later - next morning I woke up and no pain - first time in two weeks! Since the pain meds had no effect, I know the Flexeril did its job. I felt a little 'hungover,' but okay - next night I took it alone, and I had no side effects the next day."

For Muscle Spasm "I don't recommend this medication to anyone. It did help with the muscle spasm, but the side effects of this pill are ridiculous! I had very bad anxiety, my heart pounding like I was going to have a heart attack with every move I made, shaky hands, numb legs, and waking up in the middle of the night with my left arm hurting and pressure on the left side of my chest. You wake up like you have a hangover: groggy, panicky, and cranky. Never again. I only took it for 4 days."

For Sciatica "Great for the actual issue (sciatica pain), but the side effect on me was severe night cramp in both calf muscles and 'hangover' the following day. Stopped taking them - leg cramps were worse than the back pain."

For Chronic Myofascial Pain "Cyclobenzaprine provides help with sleep, but it did nothing for my chronic muscle spasticity. But even for sleep, the results are inconsistent. Sometimes it would help me sleep through the night, but other times I got no sedation. But it *always* left me feeling hungover the next day. So, the benefits for sleep are decent, but no help with actually relaxing my muscles."

For Muscle Spasm "My experience with this medication is not great. I'm not typically a 'drug sensitive' person. I was prescribed 10 mg of this three times daily (yeah right!) for lower back spasms. I'd rather have the spasms. I took one 10 mg pill and started nodding off and drooling on myself about an hour after taking it. Then, I was out cold. The next day, I felt wasted and hungover. This was like 16 hours later. Sure, my pain was gone, but it took me about 48 hours to be able to function normally again after taking this pill. No thanks."

For Temporomandibular Joint Disorder "Helps relax muscles while I sleep, so I don't clench my teeth and wake up with pain. Unfortunately, leaves me feeling off balance and hungover the next morning. I'm going to talk to my doctor about lowering the dose to see if it is still effective."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "It was effective for muscle spasms, it knocked me out cold, though. The next day I felt like I was drinking alcohol heavily the night before. If you can handle the hangover, it is effective for back spasms...for me at least, as you know, medications are not one size fits all."

For Migraine "I was prescribed Flexeril for migraine pain and relief, but it actually seems to cause my headaches to get worse instead of better. Flexeril also makes me so drowsy that I can only take it at bedtime, and then I wake up feeling completely hungover. Also, Flexeril causes me stomach cramps and diarrhea. It definitely didn't work for my headaches, and the side effects were ridiculous, so I quit taking it."

For Muscle Spasm "This seems to work well on my muscle tension when I take 10 mg as needed. But I can't take it as the hangover is terrible, and I'm grumpy and tired on it. I am taking Soma for temporary knee spasms after a fall, which is much better."

For Muscle Spasm "Took 15 mg at like 9:30 Monday morning, slept all day until 5:30 pm. It’s Tuesday afternoon, and I’m still hungover from it. Just crazy tired and in a daze, a little dizziness as well. Hopefully, I sleep it off tonight. My point is, start out with 5 mg and see how it goes, maybe you can bypass the hangover with 5 mg. Be prepared to be unproductive and sleepy for the next two days if you’re taking 10 mg or more. Great for sleep and relaxing the muscles, though, just don’t plan on functioning for the next two days."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I have multiple chronic pain conditions, such as bulging discs, fibromyalgia, and occipital neuralgia. Fexmid is exactly the same drug as Flexeril. Both made me fall asleep and made me feel hung over when I woke up."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "This was a difficult drug to stay on. I had what felt like a perpetual hangover. It did help with the muscle spasms, but not sure it's worth the 'hangover.'"
