Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Migraine "I was first prescribed Flexeril in 1994 and have been in love with it ever since. I suffer from recurring migraines and bad sinus headaches. My doctor at the time tried many different remedies, but the combination of 10 mg of Flexeril along with 500 mg of Naproxen has been a '100%' effective result since I first took it. I only take it when I am at home, though, because the Flexeril makes me very sleepy. FYI: body size doesn't matter to this little pill as I'm 6'4" and 230 lbs!"

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "Woke up totally drowsy. Too strong for me. I will not be taking it again. Called pharmacy, and they said it hits some people this hard. Others can handle it. It takes up to 20 hrs to leave your system. Drowsiness may go on a second day. Sleep it off. Don’t drive!"

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "5 or 10 mg works for muscle spasms, but dangerous if taken during the daytime. Caused uncontrolled drowsiness, deep sleep, difficulty waking up, constipation, blurred vision, and sudden unbearable headaches, leaving me unable to function. (5 or 10 mg doses had the same effects.) Lost a new job just 2 months after starting due to not realizing it was this medication's side effects of blurred vision, migraines, and exhaustion. I was unable to keep up with the workload and didn't relate it to Flexeril because I had been on it many years ago when I was much younger. I tried to explain to my PCP, but some docs just don't listen. I have since stopped Flexeril, no more headaches!"

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) "My doctor prescribed Flexeril after finding I had a posterior disc protrusion in my neck and degenerative disc disease in my lower back. I must say it worked great in reducing my pain and helped me sleep at night when the pain was the worst. My doctor told me Flexeril was far less addictive than similar drugs such as Soma. I am very pleased with its results."

For Fibromyalgia "After years of suffering, a rheumatologist finally diagnosed fibromyalgia. He prescribed Flexeril 5 mg at bedtime. I had forgotten what it feels like to actually be rested in the morning! Much less pain the next day, as well as not waking up to spasms during the night. The only problem I have with it is constipation, but I started Forteo injections for osteoporosis at the same time, which can also be constipating, so I can't blame the Flexeril entirely."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "I've been on Flexeril now for about 2 years. My neurologist was treating me for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome. I was okay taking 10 mg once a day. It was when he increased my dosage that I started to have very, very serious side effects. Among the normal side effects-sleepiness, grogginess, confusion-that's a given, but it was working, so I tolerated it. When I jumped to 20 mg a day, within a week or two, I started to develop much more serious side effects. I developed a rapid heart rate, and one of the most serious was I could not urinate. I was put on a catheter on Easter Sunday for about 5 weeks. Just prior to that, I was having difficulty swallowing. Along with that, I started to have hallucinations big time. I ended up with such bad nightmares that I literally fell out of my bed three nights in a row. My urologist finally put the pieces together when he found out how long I had been on Flexeril. He told me to stop immediately, and when I did, within a week or two, most of my symptoms have disappeared."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Sciatica "Brand Name works great. Does the job and not even noticeable to myself that I've taken it. It will make me sleepy once I lay down, but fully functional on this medication until then. I've taken this drug since 1992. Unfortunately, can NOT find this medicine in Brand Name."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Migraine "I have Flexeril prescribed to me because I suffer from migraines. I'm 17, have been getting migraines for about 9 years, and have been on Flexeril for about 2 years. I only take it occasionally when I get a bad migraine and need sleep to help with the pain. Although it's not usually prescribed for headaches or migraines, it helps reduce the pain a lot and helps me sleep while I have a bad migraine."

For Sciatica "I would rather endure the pain. This knocked me down for 2 whole days. I took a half because I did not know how my body would react. I slept for 2 days, only getting up to use the bathroom and get a drink of water. If you are sensitive to medications, as I am, I would not suggest this. How did it do with the pain? It was still there when I finally woke up, it wasn't as severe, but it was still there."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "I was prescribed Flexeril 10mg to take as needed for muscle spasms in my neck. They have been a saving grace when I can't get my spasms to calm down, however, the dry mouth that they cause the next day is UNREAL. I suffer through the dry mouth because I need the pain relief, but the next day I look like a damn dog with peanut butter stuck in its mouth. If you are prescribed this, go out and get some sugar-free candy or gum because water doesn't do anything to help."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "I tore my labrum in my left hip, the doctor gave me Robaxin at first, but it didn't seem to work. I take 2 of these and 1 Vicodin, and I feel much better. After surgery, I will hopefully be able to get rid of these and get back to normal."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Sciatica "Bad disc in neck causing severe muscle spasms. This provided great relief, but had all the side effects. Dry mouth, bloating, brain in a fog. I only took 0.5 per day for 5 straight days. I am stopping now to clear my brain."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "I've taken Flexeril off and on since late '98 when I was (mis)diagnosed with muscle spasms (ER trip was due to a kidney stone). Flex was great at relieving muscle spasms for 7 out of 10 days prescribed. I took it for all 10 days, though the low back spasms were gone after day 7-the kidney stone pain, however, remained. I've been taking it as needed (having fractured my T12 or L1 vertebra when I was 8, herniated discs, etc.-at this writing, I'm 59) for about 6 months, per my PCP. After the first bottle, I told him about the soporific/zombie effects, and he now requires me to take it only when I go to bed to sleep. Flex has a half-life of 18-23 hours. Thus, it doesn't wear off fast. A bit of Melatonin helps me get better-than-zombie sleep. :)"

For Back Pain "I've had really bad back pain since an injury back in 2014. I fell and injured my L4, L5, and S1. I've had pain off and on throughout then and now, but for the past 2-3 months, I've been catching hell with this excruciating pain. It's been hard to get in and out of bed, move around, sit up, etc. I went to my PCP five days ago, and she prescribed me cyclobenzaprine. I'm so grateful that she did. I take 10mg at night just before bed. I have never slept so well. I wake up feeling a lot less pained. I am in a much better mood now. The difference is like night and day. I have been able to focus more at work, and I'm able to get much more work done around the house. This med has definitely been a game-changer for me. It DOES make you sleep, so it might be best to take it before you go to bed. Other than that, there's nothing negative I can say about my experience."

For Muscle Spasm "I don't recommend this medication to anyone. It did help with the muscle spasm but the side effects of this pill is ridiculous! I had very bad anxiety, my heart pounding like I was going to have a heart attack with every move I made, shaky hands, numb legs and waking up in the middle of the night with my left arm hurting and pressure on my left side of my chest. You wake up like you have a hangover, groggy, panicky and cranky. Never again. I only took it for 4 days."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "I had severe bilateral sacral pain, had a caudal epidural with no effect. I began flexeril 10 mg prior to the epidural which improved my condition. After the epidural I stopped flexeril and the pain came back big time. I resumed flexeril which kicked in two days later. I take it 2x daily and meloxicam 15mg once daily. I am scheduled for another epidural on 2 January but will cancel if flexeril keeps working."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "I read through some of the reviews here and wow, what doctors are you seeing that prescribe 10 mgs, 3 times a day?! Of course you have side effects lol. That's jumping off the deep end. You always start low and ramp up. Make sure you google medications before just taking them. Doctors can be wrong and are wrong lots of times. My doctor told me 5mg to 10mg a day only at night. I'm on my first day after taking 10 mg last night and feel pretty groggy but I only slept 7 hours (more than I usually get). I took a 5 mg pill at about 10:20 pm last night and was laying down for an hour before I took another 5 mg pill at 11:20 pm. It was about 12:20 am when I last looked at the time. I did wake up with a headache that went away after an hour though"

Amrix (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "My doctor recommended this medication for relief of muscle spasms associated with trigger points in my upper back. This is the first medication that really helps to take the edge off when the trigger point fires up. I still get pain, but it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be. I have had no noticeable side effects other than some mild constipation. One 15 mg capsule twice a day works for me."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Fibromyalgia "I have had fibromyalgia for over 15 years. When my muscles feel extremely tight, I definitely hurt more. Thank God for Flexeril! I take 10 mg before bed, and this helps me to sleep and feel less muscle pain. I tried to live without this medicine for 1 week, and my pain level went up considerably, along with many more muscle spasms and tightness. I do have a dry mouth, especially after I wake up. I do work night shifts as a nurse, this helps me to get better sleep, in turn making me feel better after I get up."

For Migraine "I take this drug cyclobenzaprine at night so I can sleep through my severe back pain. Tonight I coincidentally got an intense migraine with aura (flashing lights and vision loss) around the time I normally take my meds, Within 10 minutes of taking the cyclobenzaprine the aura stopped. I have never had it gone that fast and very little headache pain following it."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Fibromyalgia "I have fibromyalgia and compression fractures in my lower back and neck from an automobile accident. I have tried everything for pain and stiffness. I changed doctors and she gave me a prescription for Flexeril 10 mg to take at bedtime to help me sleep. For me, this is the best medication I have tried. I had to cut the pills in quarters, however, because the 10 mg was too strong."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Migraine "I have used Flexeril for back pain but took one the other night because I had a migraine and couldn't sleep. I've never had relief from any migraine, so I was amazed when, after about 2 1/2 hours, I got out of bed and felt OK to move around. After another hour or two, I was feeling drowsy, so I ended up going to bed, but I was happy to discover that Flexeril helped my migraine. It does make me VERY sleepy, so I only take it when I don't have much to do the next day. I usually feel lethargic the day after."

For Fibromyalgia "Using the elimination diagnosis 'protocol' I was determined to have fibromyalgia in 2007. Flexeril, 10mg 3 times per day, has been part of my treatment regardless of the actual pain reliever prescribed since the beginning. My doctor suddenly determines that Flexeril is not safe with my low dosage of pain medication (300 mg Tramadol total per day) and dropped me to 10 mg of Flexeril per day. It is very evident to me that Flexeril contributed significantly to the reduction/elimination of the throbbing nerve pain that the 'opioid' I am taking does not touch. 12 years at 30 mg per day in three 10 mg doses resulted in zero side effects and a better quality of life compared to the current lower dosage."
