Cyclobenzaprine for Sciatica "I have been taking this medicine for almost a year and a half, it has caused me to have uncontrollable tremors, muscle spasms in my shoulders making them rise up, and I have had mental challenges, thinking this could be a neurological disease. I only took it at night, as soon as it wore off, all the nerves took off worse than when I wasn't on it. I stopped the medicine, and my body took 3 days to go back to normal. I made an appointment with the chiropractor 3 weeks later, and he could see the difference. The doctors don't always tell you the information you need. I have been in 3 car wrecks within 1 1/2 years, and none of the doctors caught what this medicine was doing to me. I was suffering in a lot of pain, all I could say is I'm better without Flexeril."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "Been taking this medication (10 mg twice a day) along with Meloxicam for neck pain and severely compressed disc in my back (what they call Degenerative Disc Disease). Also taking extra strength Tylenol because the Flexeril and Meloxicam are barely giving me any relief from the pain, which persists constantly."

Cyclobenzaprine for Migraine "I have Flexeril prescribed to me because I suffer from migraines. I'm 17, have been getting migraines for about 9 years, and have been on Flexeril for about 2 years. I only take it occasionally when I get a bad migraine and need sleep to help with the pain. Although it's not usually prescribed for headaches or migraines, it helps reduce the pain a lot and helps me sleep while I have a bad migraine."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "My doctor recommended this medication for relief of muscle spasms associated with trigger points in my upper back. This is the first medication that really helps to take the edge off when the trigger point fires up. I still get pain, but it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be. I have had no noticeable side effects other than some mild constipation. One 15 mg capsule twice a day works for me."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I've tried Flexeril twice in my life, once at least 6 years ago, and the last time was in December. I'd been on Carisoprodol (generic Soma) long term (about 20 years with only about a 9 month break). December 2016, my pain management doctor and practice decided to completely stop writing Carisoprodol/Soma prescriptions for all patients. The excuse was that studies have determined that Carisoprodol/Soma only work to relieve musculoskeletal pain for up to 21 days and then have zero effect on pain. After I picked up my Flexeril, I found out that it is not recommended for long term use either, as a matter of fact, it's recommended to not be used for more than 14 days before it becomes ineffective. But Flexeril didn't even touch me."

Cyclobenzaprine for Sciatica "Bad disc in neck causing severe muscle spasms. This provided great relief, but had all the side effects. Dry mouth, bloating, brain in a fog. I only took 0.5 per day for 5 straight days. I am stopping now to clear my brain."

For Muscle Spasm "This stuff doesn't work for me, it just doesn't. I've had joint disease in my neck since I was 18. I'm always locking up. Flexeril just doesn't work for me. It never really has. It used to make me sleepy, but now it doesn't even do that. I get such bad spasms, the only relief I've ever gotten was the one month in my life my doctor prescribed me Soma. That was after I had surgery. Soma worked so much better than anything else I had ever tried. It felt amazing to move my body freely again. I just used it at night, I would stretch and go to bed. After a month, my doctor said he wouldn't prescribe it to me anymore and went back to Flexeril. It obviously didn't work, and I'm locked up again with no relief in sight. I just wish something worked. I feel hopeless."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I had pretty significant muscle spasms in my neck after my car was rear-ended. This medicine pretty much stopped all of the pain and allowed me to sleep soundly. The only problem is that it makes me drowsy."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I've been on Flexeril now for about 2 years. My neurologist was treating me for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome. I was okay taking 10 mg once a day. It was when he increased my dosage that I started to have very, very serious side effects. Among the normal side effects-sleepiness, grogginess, confusion-that's a given, but it was working, so I tolerated it. When I jumped to 20 mg a day, within a week or two, I started to develop much more serious side effects. I developed a rapid heart rate, and one of the most serious was I could not urinate. I was put on a catheter on Easter Sunday for about 5 weeks. Just prior to that, I was having difficulty swallowing. Along with that, I started to have hallucinations big time. I ended up with such bad nightmares that I literally fell out of my bed three nights in a row. My urologist finally put the pieces together when he found out how long I had been on Flexeril. He told me to stop immediately, and when I did, within a week or two, most of my symptoms have disappeared."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I had severe bilateral sacral pain, had a caudal epidural with no effect. I began Flexeril 10 mg prior to the epidural, which improved my condition. After the epidural, I stopped Flexeril, and the pain came back big time. I resumed Flexeril, which kicked in two days later. I take it 2x daily and meloxicam 15 mg once daily. I am scheduled for another epidural on January 2, but will cancel if Flexeril keeps working."

For Fibromyalgia "Using the elimination diagnosis 'protocol,' I was determined to have fibromyalgia in 2007. Flexeril, 10 mg three times per day, has been part of my treatment regardless of the actual pain reliever prescribed since the beginning. My doctor suddenly determines that Flexeril is not safe with my low dosage of pain medication (300 mg Tramadol total per day) and dropped me to 10 mg of Flexeril per day. It is very evident to me that Flexeril contributed significantly to the reduction/elimination of the throbbing nerve pain that the 'opioid' I am taking does not touch. Twelve years at 30 mg per day in three 10 mg doses resulted in zero side effects and a better quality of life compared to the current lower dosage."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I have severe back spasms in my lower and mid back sections. This medication works, however, I feel like a complete zombie when I wake up. I'm super tired for another day or two after a 15-milligram dose. Dry mouth is a huge factor for me, but staying hydrated is a great way to keep dry mouth at bay."

For Temporomandibular Joint Disorder "It's not a miracle cure, but it definitely helps. First time I was prescribed it, my jaw had been locked for a little over three weeks. Needless to say, I was pretty desperate to have any kind of fix. After yet another failed appointment with the TMJ specialists, I went to my primary doctor hoping that she had been able to find something new. This time, she prescribed cyclobenzaprine. No joke, four hours later I could open my jaw. Works like a charm. The pain goes away with it too (no more tension). Only downside is it makes me sleepy and a little loopy. No driving on this stuff (for me anyway)."

For Sciatica "I would rather endure the pain. This knocked me down for 2 whole days. I took a half because I did not know how my body would react. I slept for 2 days, only getting up to use the bathroom and get a drink of water. If you are sensitive to medications, as I am, I would not suggest this. How did it do with the pain? It was still there when I finally woke up, it wasn't as severe, but it was still there."

Cyclobenzaprine for Sciatica "I'm on a lot of other scripts, so maybe others may or may not be helping. I'm taking two extra-strength Tylenol AM & PM with the Flex, they usually help pretty well, but it still hurts, especially when sitting, standing, or walking."

Cyclobenzaprine for Migraine "I have used Flexeril for back pain but took one the other night because I had a migraine and couldn't sleep. I've never had relief from any migraine, so I was amazed when, after about 2 1/2 hours, I got out of bed and felt OK to move around. After another hour or two, I was feeling drowsy, so I ended up going to bed, but I was happy to discover that Flexeril helped my migraine. It does make me VERY sleepy, so I only take it when I don't have much to do the next day. I usually feel lethargic the day after."

For Migraine "I take this drug cyclobenzaprine at night so I can sleep through my severe back pain. Tonight, I coincidentally got an intense migraine with aura (flashing lights and vision loss) around the time I normally take my meds. Within 10 minutes of taking the cyclobenzaprine, the aura stopped. I have never had it gone that fast and very little headache pain following it."

For Muscle Spasm "(Pink Lemonade) I have fibromyalgia and constantly in pain. My chest muscles always hurt and I have body aches as well. I have 5 mg Flexeril and 15 mg. I can't take the 15 because it keeps you drowsy. Even after 8 to 10 hours of sleep. I wish they had a cure for fibromyalgia. It's hard living with this condition. Especially when you have high blood pressure and diabetes. I've also noticed the kind of care you get depends on your insurance. Private insurance fixes the problem, Medicaid prolongs it by giving prescriptions. This is why you never see older politicians ever get sick. They have the funds for the best treatment. We have to settle. Everyone pray for one another because this world is definitely divided."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "5 or 10 mg works for muscle spasms, but dangerous if taken during the daytime. Caused uncontrolled drowsiness, deep sleep, difficulty waking up, constipation, blurred vision, and sudden unbearable headaches, leaving me unable to function. (5 or 10 mg doses had the same effects.) Lost a new job just 2 months after starting due to not realizing it was this medication's side effects of blurred vision, migraines, and exhaustion. I was unable to keep up with the workload and didn't relate it to Flexeril because I had been on it many years ago when I was much younger. I tried to explain to my PCP, but some docs just don't listen. I have since stopped Flexeril, no more headaches!"

For Sciatica "Ever since falling down the stairs in 2014, my back has never been the same. I get muscle pain in the exact same way and in the exact same spot about three times a year, which lasts for 3 months. Chiropractors stretch and pop my back, but it just goes back to how it was. I get on the 10 mg dose pill form. I love it. I can walk around and not feel like cursing and crying. I love how it makes me have not much muscle pain after taking it! I think it works so well with my back problems!"

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "I have been suffering horrible chronic pain for the past 15 years (after being struck by lightning). If only the doctors had tried this before, it could have saved me numerous hours of horrific pain with seemingly no end in sight. This is the best I've felt in years. Now I can start weaning myself off of the hard narcotics, I hope. I would recommend this medication for anyone that is suffering from severe neuropathy. What a major difference."

For Migraine "I get migraines very bad, so bad I have to sit in a pitch-dark room with no sounds and have to try my hardest not to cry. They get so bad I want to literally punch myself to make it go away or focus pain somewhere else. On a scale of 1 to 10, they are way above a 10, nothing, and I mean nothing, was helping. Not Excedrin, not Advil, not Tylenol. Nothing. These are my miracle medicine. They take my migraines right away. 'Bout 25 min and gone. I highly, highly recommend for people who get migraines 3 times a month, as bad as mine. These ARE MAGNIFICENT."

Cyclobenzaprine for Fibromyalgia "Helps overall, but leaves me with a terrible hung-over-type grogginess until mid-afternoon the next day. Doctor said it should go away after a week, but no luck - still had the next day druggy haze feeling even after 3 weeks on it. I do still use it occasionally for bad shoulder or back spasms, but not every day for my fibromyalgia anymore."

Cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm "Flexeril is a miracle med for me. It kind of resets my body, taking the areas of pain out, unwinding my body to again go forward in this world. The hangover fog goes away for me with coffee. Appreciation to the developers of this miracle for me medicine. Those giving bad reports - I respect that, but the ones using it in conjunction with Tramadol, it is the Tramadol, in my opinion, that causes the issues."
