Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "One word - amazing. I was so skeptical when starting this medication. I thought it would be just like everything I've tried before, but it's not. It works. Two months in and 20 pounds down. It's like magic! I have had some brief periods of nausea, but I drink some ginger ale and it helps a lot. I read that this medication would be a game changer for weight loss, and it has not disappointed."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was originally prescribed Ozempic in the needle form about 4 years ago. This was an experience I will never forget. Although I dropped weight, the nausea was just too much to bear. I was sick every single day for months on end, it just wouldn't give up, so I was taken off it. Fast forward a few years, and all the weight is back. Last week, after an appointment with my doctor, I was asked to try a tablet form, which they said has less severe side effects. Now, 6 days in, and I'm over the moon, I've lost 8 lbs already. My appetite has been curbed to 3 very small meals a day, but I feel full to my stomach. Now, here's where I have to be 100% honest: this medication is not for the light-hearted. The nausea, headaches, and bad stomach are very, very real. The difference between this and the needle is I'm not physically sick but just feel it all day, every day!!! This is only the 3 mg dose, I will be put up to 6 mg next week and 14 mg in 3 weeks' time. I will post my progress. Good luck, everyone."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "A little background: I am 6'2", 24 years old, and the most I ever weighed was 316 lbs. Always used to wear the baggiest clothes and was not confident in myself. The crazy thing is that it was a “trim” 316 lbs (if that makes sense), like, I play hockey and get around just fine - I was just overweight. In college, I managed to get down to 280 from being poor and walking everywhere. But now I am in the real world working, and about 4 months ago, when I began Ozempic, I was back up to 310 lbs. My mom started it, she liked it, she was down about 10 lbs and told me I should try it. I started at .25 for about 6 weeks. I had not lost much weight in the beginning and had some nausea and pretty decent headaches, but that goes away after about a week or so. I am now taking the 1.7 Wegovy, and I am now down to 265. I feel great, look great, and I look forward to taking the 2.4."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I have been prescribed Ozempic off-label in the UK for the last 5 months for weight loss purposes. At the beginning, the side effects were quite bad, but my prescriber gave me anti-nausea, acid reflux, and constipation relief with every prescription, which helped immensely. I no longer need to use any of these meds, as the side effects have gone, aside from occasional acid reflux. The side effects started to ease around week 8 for me, so consistency and perseverance are key. I have gradually titrated up to 2mg once a week, which is amazing for me. I can't eat as much as I used to, and I'm not tempted to binge as much. I have lost just over 2 stone. This is a MIRACLE DRUG for me, as no matter how much effort I put into exercising, I couldn't lose the weight. It's cheaper here in the UK to buy than it is in the US, but it's still costly to pay for monthly. For me, the cost is nothing compared to the sense of my physical appearance and feelings. I feel so much healthier and look so much healthier."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started Wegovy in Oct 2021. Down 30 lbs. It definitely curbs your appetite. The first couple of months were getting used to the change in signals from my body. Hunger pains felt different and not so intense. I did experience nausea - the doctor prescribed an anti-nausea medicine that helped greatly. Constipation was also an issue - again, the doctor suggested Milk of Magnesia, which helped with that. This has absolutely been a game changer for me. My struggles before were always being hungry, and I mean always. No matter how I curbed my diet (not a junk food/pop drinker at all) and exercised, I just could not lose weight. I had to stop it last month, not because I wanted to, but because my insurance company refuses to cover it. Even though I completely qualify for coverage, they said because the manufacturer could not keep it in stock, they won't cover it. Now I'm trying to maintain the meal portioning I was used to on Wegovy, but it's harder now that the hunger feelings are back."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started using this as a last effort to lose weight. I had tried everything I knew to do. My doctor starts out with a very low dose (0.10) and takes it up each week (0.20, 0.30, etc.). I experienced a little nausea my first week but severe nausea my second week. She just kept me at 0.20 for 2 weeks until I was no longer feeling that. I am now at 0.30, not because of nausea but because it is working so well at that dosage. I have had constipation for several days and then diarrhea for a couple of hours, but I am eating so little that I don’t have much in me. I am drinking a lot of water (always have) and haven’t experienced tiredness or fatigue. In the first 5 weeks, I lost 11 lbs. and 5 1/2 inches. I’m really happy so far. I never thought they would make anything that helped me. I do eat, just very small amounts. I do get a small rash at the injection site, but I use Benadryl cream and it slowly goes away."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I have been taking Ozempic since March 12, 2022. I started at the .025 dose for 4 weeks. I had a little nausea, but nothing serious, and some constipation. I have now been on the .050 dose and have very little appetite, and no other symptoms have remained other than occasional constipation. I have to remind myself at times to eat. I have more energy than I have had in years and feel so much better in my clothes. Since March, I have lost 25 lbs. This has been a life changer for me as I feel so much better. I am still 45 pounds from my goal weight, but this drug has definitely helped me. I give the shot in my thighs, as I have read many comments on here to do so for fewer symptoms, and I believe that is why I have done so well."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I had been on a Keto diet for 10 weeks with very little weight loss and then added 16:8 intermittent fasting for another 4, and only lost about 5 lbs in that time. 14 weeks! I had lost 50 lbs in about 8 months a few short years ago and kept it off, thank goodness, doing just a keto diet, no fasting. It was truly confounding why the weight wasn’t budging this time. I went to my doctor because I believe there is a biological reason I wasn’t losing weight, and she referred me to an endocrinologist. BTW, my blood sugar is normal. She asked if I wanted to try Ozempic, as one of the “side effects” was weight loss. I was skeptical, but I was at my wit's end with the poor weight loss results. Decided to try it, injected myself a mere 2 days ago, and I’m down 2 lbs! Only side effects so far are mild and transient dizziness and nausea, and this pressure/heavy feeling after eating even a small meal. I didn’t eat big meals anyway. So far, I’m impressed."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking the 3 mg Rybelsus pill on April 12th at 208 lbs. It is currently May 9th, and I am down to 194 lbs. My ideal weight is 165, which is probably a little low for me. I increase my dose in a few days to 7 mg per direction. I have a decreased appetite and only eat one healthy meal and drink a lot of fluids. I was nauseated during the first week of taking it, but I just took it as prescribed in the AM and waited 30 minutes before eating or drinking. I have a coffee every day in the AM. I eat my main sensible meal in the AM or at lunch. I can’t eat anything else, and to be honest, food is not my go-to any longer. I am no longer eating the white foods, but I am eating well. I walk 2-3 times a week, and I feel great. I have not had a test of my A1C, but I will at my next doctor appointment. I got a coupon from Rybelsus, and my cost went from $24 to $10. I am very pleased with this medication and not sure I need the 7 mg because I may not even want food. I also have high blood pressure, which has decreased significantly."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Ok, so it's been 2.5 months. I made it to the 1 mg dose and had to stop. I did fine with the 0.25 and 0.5 doses and lost weight. The trouble started when I hit the 1 mg dose. I felt horrible the first week, like absolute death, with side effects of nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain-just awful. I reached out to my MD, and she said this was normal to go ahead and keep going. The second week on this hasn't been much better, with vomiting, and I'm stopping it myself. I have lost 20 lbs the last couple of months even on the lower doses, but due to supply chain issues, my pharmacy cannot get them in, so I'm having to switch medications now. Lower doses have way less side effects and are just as effective. I wish I could've continued with it."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Ozempic last June. I switched to Wegovy in September. My starting weight was 216.8 pounds at 5’6”, and I’m a 50-year-old post-menopausal woman. In 9 months, I’m down to 148.2 pounds (-68 lbs; almost 35%), and went from a size 16 to a size 8. Could only take 1.0 due to kidneys not functioning normally when upped to 1.7. I do not have time to work out. I thought it would be hard to give myself a shot, but it’s so easy! Absolutely amazing! Side effects are limited appetite and sleep (especially the first couple of days after the shot), nausea (especially when brushing teeth or smelling things), and hair loss (started more around month 6). But no other diet worked after menopause and stress for over 10 years. I love my new body (something I have NEVER said)! Will stay on it forever! Excited for warmer weather and outside activities (and the strength to do things)!"

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was 236.6, I'm 4 months in and now I'm 199 and feeling wonderful. I can't really say I've had any bad side effects except for a little nausea. I used to have 3 shots of espresso in the morning in my latte, so I tried only doing 2 shots and the nausea went away immediately. I can drink coffee later in the day just fine, it's just something in the early morning, so I just do the 2 shots when I wake up now and I'm fine. I have a high deductible crappy insurance plan, but my insurance for whatever reason covers this drug 100% with no copay or anything, which is absolutely amazing."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I began Wegovy in late August '21. I had bariatric surgery in 2000. Menopause, major life changes, and COVID resulted in a 60 lb weight gain over 5 years. It's May 1, and I've lost a total of 81 lbs. My BMI has gone from 38 to 25, and I never got to the 2.4 injection. I had slight nausea and 2 incidents of gastrointestinal uncertainty ('sharts') the first 2 weeks, but nothing after that. I walked 1.5 - 2.0 miles 6 or 7 days weekly, ate a high-protein, low-carb diet, switched to 50/50 Stevia/Sugar as a sweetener, and ceased eating after 8 pm nightly. I feel great, and because of my weight loss, I can delay my other hip replacement. Wegovy gave me a second chance at better health, and I'll continue to use it for maintenance."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started on Ozempic 12 weeks ago in Jan 2022, which is the same as Wegovy in a lower dosage. I spent 4 weeks on the 0.25 dosage, losing 2 lbs. Moved up to the 0.5 dosage for 4 weeks, losing another 2 lbs, moved up to the 1 dosage for 4 weeks, and lost an additional 3 lbs. I just took my first dose of Wegovy at the 1.7 dosage, and wow can I tell a difference. I won’t lie, I have experienced a few side effects, such as constipation, some abdominal pain, nausea, headache, and diarrhea, but all have been mostly mild and very tolerable. Nothing that can’t be helped with eating a little less. The key to managing all of it is learning how to eat properly with the right portion sizes. Only eat until you are satisfied rather than full. For me, it is well worth dealing with mild side effects in order to achieve a healthy lifestyle!"

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Started a month ago to help lose some weight. I started with 0.25 and now increasing to 0.5 with a 1 shot a week variant. Read the instructions on how to use the pen or talk to a specialist. The description is good. Lost 5 kg/10 lbs in 4 weeks. Small reaction after getting the shot (you feel it and it burns a little) for about an hour, slightly feeling nauseous for that same period. Nothing to worry about. Have a friend on the 'every day' variant. She has red marks for 2 days but no other symptoms. The weight loss for her is the same. She switches injection place (stomach left/right - upper arm left/right - upper legs left/right)… I always use the same location. Feel more constipated… keep an eye on that (eat fresh fruits and it might help, if you’re allowed). My craving for food and sugar is less. Had a strange reaction (black spots before my eyes) when I ate a sugary snack last week. Don’t know if it’s related. Never had it before. Never had it again… (the black spots, not the snack)."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Ozempic has changed my life and put my diabetes in remission. I am 5 foot 5 and weighed 155 pounds. I now weigh 120. The downside is that it took me two months to adjust to the drug. I went from .25 to eventually a weekly dose of .50. Those two months were horrible, but I persevered. The symptoms were extreme nausea and fatigue. The other challenge is that I have to be sure to keep up my caloric intake so that I don’t continue to lose weight. I am at my ideal weight, but I want to maintain it rather than lose any more."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm on my third month of Wegovy. The day after my injection, I usually puke at least once and sleep 10+ hours with extreme fatigue and nausea. I started in February 2022, and now it's April 2022. I went from 247 lbs to 222 lbs. 25 pounds. I get ill if I eat sugary foods with this. I eat three small meals a day, a plant-based diet, with around 5,000 steps a day and little to no exercise outside of work. I felt good usually a couple of days after injections, and by the third week at the same dose, I had no side effects. The first two injections at a new dose aren't easy for me. I have missed work and had a hard time watching my two-year-old due to puking and fatigue. I gave 10 stars because it does as it says with side effects you are aware of to begin with."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "So I am 5'4" and I found myself at the weight I was when I delivered my children, 145 pounds. For three years plus, I desperately tried to approach my goal weight of 125 pounds, dieting and feeling miserable for 3 years. I told my doctor I was dieting and exercising and could not budge the scale. At 60 years of age, the weight just doesn’t come off like when you are young. I’ve been on Wegovy for 6 weeks and have lost 12 pounds-a miracle! Now at 133 pounds, I’m staying the course to my goal. I will say the nausea is the worst side effect and comes in intermittent waves. I have Zofran (ondansetron) for when I can’t take the nausea. One of the best side effects for me has been totally eradicating my diarrhea. I have irritable bowel on the diarrhea spectrum, and luckily I did not get the diarrhea side effect but more the constipation, which has totally normalized my GI tract! I am so happy about this and assume this is due to slowing gastrointestinal motility."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "On week 8 at 1.0, lost about 12 lbs so far, very happy, even though I do feel nauseous, gas, acid reflux the first 2-3 days after the shot. I’ll take the temporary nausea for the weight loss. For those that mentioned hair loss, try taking Biotin. That has worked great for me before with hair and nails when nutrients are low due to fewer calories. Good luck, everyone!!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have taken Ozempic for a year now. I suffered through 5 weeks of nausea, but my doctor gave me anti-nausea meds to get through it. My A1C has stabilized at 5.1, I’ve gotten rid of Metformin, and lost 60 pounds. If I eat too much, or eat unhealthy foods, I will still get sick. My weight loss has tapered off, and the 'negative' long-term side effect I’ve had is that meat no longer tastes good. I’ve transitioned to a mostly vegetarian diet. Occasionally, I’ll have a favorite meat meal, but it just doesn’t taste as good and is liable to make me feel sick afterwards. I’m fine with this trade-off."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I was initially hesitant to try this drug, but after taking it every other day for the first month, I started taking it daily once I started the 7 mg, and it has worked wonders for my A1C. It went from a high of 6.8 to 5.7 in a couple of months. My glucose number was 83. First time it was under 100 on my blood test. Although I did experience some nausea at first, that seemed to go away. I always try to eat something 30 to 45 minutes after taking my dose in the morning. Food portions are very small, which has led to a weight loss of almost 20 lbs. So far, very happy with the results."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Seven weeks in and it’s great! I’ve lost 12 lbs already. I don’t have that many side effects to discuss, but you do have to be careful what you eat and how much you eat. If you try to eat too much food that is high in fat or high in sugar, you will not feel well. You do have to listen to your stomach as you get full very quickly, if you push it you could become queasy. As long as I pay attention to this, I feel fine and have little side effects. I do inject it in my thigh as I have read that it reduces bad side effects. Perhaps that’s the key."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "57-year-old on this for 3 1/2 weeks. I'd like to tell you how much I lost (was 4 pounds at 3 weeks), but I am so constipated for 4 days I cannot be sure what my real weight is (it could be 6 pounds now). Get a telemedicine provider to send you a vial of semaglutide (not the pre-loaded syringes) and use an insulin syringe to administer 1/2 the dose on one day with an ODT Zofran, then take the second half of the dose 24 hours later with another ODT Zofran. I administer in my outer thigh, like you would give insulin. The provider will tell you exactly how many 'units' to administer per week, just cut it in half, say Saturday and Sunday. Take a stool softener on Sunday, which I forgot to do this week! I have had zero gastrointestinal issues, no nausea, no vomiting. The Zofran may be causing some of the constipation, and I don't consider this a real issue, just a minor side effect with an easy fix. I am a Nurse Practitioner, so I have been watching everything for real side effects. I'll update."
