Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Ozempic for Type 2 diabetes. Was overweight as well, I am 4'11 and had ballooned to over 170 pounds. I was taking medicine for blood pressure, anxiety, depression, you know, all the things. I started in March 2022. My A1c was 7.9. Today I am down to 105 (hold up, that is normal for my height). No more high pressure. Beginning, I wasn't sure I would get past the nausea, but I fought through it, and yes, it does go away. I have been on stool softeners for a while, so I have never had any issues going to the restroom. My A1c is 5.4 now. I don't feel good, though. I can't put my finger on it, but I am severely exhausted and fatigued. I will not trash this medicine because I think it works as it should and has been amazing for diabetics. I just wish I didn't feel like poo all the time. The side effects do subside over time. My doctor and I have found the perfect dosing and schedule for me to keep my blood sugar under control."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor started me at the 0.25 mg dose for the first 2 weeks, then increased it to the 0.5 mg dose after that. Having taken the Byetta injections over 10 years ago (had to stop due to developing pancreatitis), using the Ozempic is similar, except for taking only once per week instead of taking several times a day with the Byetta. When I first started the Ozempic, I had nausea and constipation symptoms. At times, I still have some nausea, but it subsides quickly. After several weeks of being on the Ozempic, the constipation has decreased and I have developed a once-daily routine for bowel movements, which is okay by me... LOL. (Had my gallbladder out a year ago.) I have lost 14 lbs. since the start (over 4 months ago). I am still trying to regulate my diet to get the best advantage of the medication, but I work the night shift. I am happy with my Hemoglobin A1C levels, it dropped from 6.7 down to 6.2 in 1 month. Hoping it drops even further with the next lab work."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I began taking the 0.25 dose 4 weeks ago (I will take my first dose of 0.5 this upcoming week). I was VERY hesitant to begin this journey due to the reviews I have read regarding side effects, but I am fortunate enough to not have experienced many. I can say I was a bit lethargic the first few days, and I do experience mild nausea if I do not eat. Prior to taking this drug, I was constantly hungry, and the food noise I experienced was constant - it regularly affected my daily functioning. However, about 48 hours after taking the first dose, I began to notice a difference. I legitimately have not experienced the sensation of hunger in 4 weeks, which is a GAME changer for me. I have not made any drastic changes to my diet or exercise, as I was already eating quite healthy and working out 3-6 days a week. I have lost 16 lbs - will update on my journey in a month or two."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Wegovy exactly 1 year ago with a starting weight of 220 pounds. I titrated up through the doses with some nausea while doing that, but manageable and tolerable. I began to see the weight come off gradually. Now I've been on the maintenance dose of 2.4 for 5-6 months and currently fluctuate between 143-145 pounds, weighing 143 today. I must say Wegovy was the best choice I've made with all other failed attempts to lose weight. I am no longer pre-diabetic, and I no longer take blood pressure medication. My labs look great as well. I am amazingly pleased with my progress while on this Wegovy journey, and my doctor was pleased with my progress at my recent annual physical appointment. For anyone hesitant about trying this medication, it is a game changer and REALLY works over time. It's not an immediate fix, but a tool with healthy eating, moderate exercise, determination, and a goal."

Semaglutide "I was a 59-year-old woman, and at 5'4" tall, I weighed 212 lbs. My knees had been replaced a couple of years ago, as well as back and foot surgery. I was in constant pain and miserable. Eight months later, I am proud to say I am at 159 and stalled out. I need to get out and walk more, and that'll help. I am not overeating or eating junk... it just stalls out on occasion. I feel SO much better! I move with ease and don't groan getting up from my chair! The day after my weekly shot, I do get nauseated. On occasion, I will vomit. It's not terrible, and it is well worth it!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I take the 14 mg once in the morning. Totally kills my appetite. That allows me to eat less and plan my meals. In the last 6 months since starting, I have lost 1-3 pounds every week and am still losing. The only side effect for me is I get a little nauseous when first taken, but it gets better."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I sat out on a journey to lose weight in January 2023. I am a heart patient, and I was weighing 220 lbs for the first time in my life. I started in the beginning, I had lots of nausea and vomiting as I went through the different doses. It wasn’t until I got to the highest dose that I really saw the change in my body weight. The weight just slid off. I lost a total of 100 lbs. I definitely changed my diet: high protein, grilled veggies, and fruit. I will say it changed my taste buds. Salty things were overwhelming to me while on Wegovy, and so was sugar. I can’t eat cheese at all without getting sick. But I feel better. My heart is doing well, and my lipids are finally in the normal range. This medication helped save my life, and I feel so blessed. Good luck on your new journey, and don’t be afraid to ask your doctor for nausea meds, it helps a lot."

Semaglutide "I started using Rybelsus in October of 2023. My starting dosage was 3 mg, and then raised to 7 mg about 4 months later. I have encountered redness, hives, and itching on my calves, scaly skin, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, cramping, and dizziness. Most of those symptoms have gone away. I take it each morning alone and do not take anything else for at least 30 minutes. When I get to work, an hour later, I take my heart and blood pressure medicine (for Afib). I gained a lot of weight for multiple reasons. The main reason was because of depression and chronic back disease. I just had lower back fusion, which has stopped my back pain. This means I can exercise now without severe pain. The good news: since I have been taking Rybelsus, I have lost 70 pounds. I now weigh 330, and by January 1, 2025, I want to be 299. It works, but does have side effects. The key is using it as directed and learning to eat smaller, healthier food portions."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm 60 years old, started taking Wegovy for weight loss, high blood pressure, high cholesterol. I’ve been on the medication now for 10 weeks. My starting weight was 296. Currently, I weigh 266, and my numbers are great. The cons are I only feel good 4 days a week. The first 3 days after the injection are tough: nausea, headaches. But as far as I’m concerned, it works great. I’m not hungry at all. I feel much better. Another added bonus for me was I was a heavy drinker. On this medication, I have no desire to drink at all. I went from 5 cases a week to absolutely nothing. I don’t miss it at all. Miracle drug."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Wegovy about 17 months ago. I really had no bad symptoms, however, due to availability, I had to stay on a few of the doses for a couple of months at a time. I am now at the highest dose, and this one and the one before did cause a little nausea, but it goes away. I started at 320 lbs, I am now down to 210 lbs. My goal was to lose half of me, so I'm still working on the last 50 lbs, averaging 2 to 5 lbs a month or so, sometimes more. So good luck to you all. I feel so much better now, I can breathe, I can walk, and do so many more things now. It truly changed my life."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have taken 1 dose of the 0.25 mg. Tomorrow I will be taking my 2nd dose. So it has been 6 days for me. I have already lost 4 lbs. I was very nauseated and had some heartburn the first 24 hours after I took the dose. It got better with Pepto-Bismol and Tums. I didn't really get sick after that day. I don't have an appetite at all. I eat enough to keep me healthy, no more. I have gotten mild nausea once when I ate some chocolate chip cookies, but no nausea with healthy foods like fruit and veggies. I haven't done much exercise either."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’m on the starter dose 0.25 mg. I have had zero side effects. Mild nausea in a car - not sure if related? No real appetite, but I am able to eat. No food aversions, but no cravings. I didn’t want a glass of wine after work. My clothes already feel different after 2 weeks. I’m so thankful to be on this journey as my primary did not support me asking for help losing weight. I do not overeat or have issues with food. I had a fractured knee, then a hip replacement, and then two fractured ankles. I was unable to move normally for 2.5 years and gained about 50 lbs. The weight gain brought on joint pain, trouble breathing, sleep apnea, afib, raised blood pressure, and cholesterol. Hopefully in 6 months, I will be down 40-50 lbs."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I was a 63-year-old female when I started Ozempic. 5'2", 208#. A1C of 7.2. History of stroke, cardiovascular disease, Hashimoto's, fibromyalgia, and the list goes on. At the beginning, I had some nausea, but not terribly. I have been on it for 14 months and have lost 85#! From 208# to 125#. Average about 5#/month. When increased to 2.0, I had some issues with constipation but worked through it. Now, with a normal BMI, A1C is at 4.9 and steady. Continuing at 2.0 to maintain. I would highly recommend this to anyone! Following recent labs, my endocrinologist sent a message, 'Diabetes is in remission!' Woohoo! Good luck, everyone!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "This is an update on my success journey. The semaglutide is such a wonderful Rx for weight loss. My starting weight is 261 lbs. I started taking semaglutide 0.10 syringe injection dosage for 4 weeks, Monday, 03/11/24 - 04/01/24. The total weight loss is 7 lbs, to 254 lbs for the 1st 4-week period with no side effects that are listed. Monday, 04/08/24 - 04/29/24 semaglutide 0.20 syringe injection dosage for 4 weeks. Weight loss is 5 lbs, to 249 lbs for the 2nd 4-week period. I experienced mild nausea the next day after taking the shot. The nausea stopped within an hour after waking up that morning. I will start the semaglutide 0.40 syringe injection on Monday, 05/06/24. I recommend this semaglutide for anyone who has struggled to lose weight. It has worked for me without any exercise. I will be giving an update 4 weeks from this date."

Semaglutide "I have been on Metformin for many years and A1C kept climbing. MD prescribed Ozempic. Started 0.025 1x per week for 4 weeks. Really decreased my appetite. Continued 2nd month on 0.50 with no side effects. Now on max dose of 2.0 mg per week for the last 4 months and have lost a total of 25 lbs. Main problem is constipation, but once taking 1 dose of Miralax per day, eat Raisin Bran and fruit, and more veggies and lots of water, it improved. Has cleared that up. Also got the doc to prescribe Zofran for nausea, and all is great! Take the Zofran in the am and you prevent it altogether! I have never read a review where anyone said they took steps to help their side effects, so thought I'd let you know what works for me! I have gone down 2 pants sizes after losing just 25 lbs. A1C is down from 6.4 to 5.7, cholesterol and triglycerides normal. It's a game changer, just get what you need from your doc to prevent the nausea and constipation, and you will be amazed!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have had a great experience on the medication. I have been on it since May and have lost 17 pounds. I had a stall early on for about 3 weeks, but since then, I have been losing about a pound a week. I feel great on the medication. Occasionally, I feel nauseous, but that is a sign to my body to drink more water, and once I do, I instantly feel better. I am really glad I gave this medicine a try. I’m happier with my weight than I have been in years."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started on 5/23/23. I’m a 47-year-old female, and my starting weight was 193. I am down 21 lbs with no diet or exercise change as of 8/23/23. The first month, I had nausea and significant heartburn, but pushed through it. After I moved to 1 mg, I stopped having the heartburn. I think my body just adjusted. I plan on moving up to the 2.4 mg in two weeks. So happy to be on this medication!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started semaglutide in March of 2023. I immediately lost all of my appetite and lost weight. I have tried every diet out there in the past, and none were successful. I am 65 years old and have joint and heart issues, so I felt that the benefits outweighed the negative effects. As of today, I have lost 38 lbs. It has not been easy. I have had nausea, mild vomiting, and stomach discomfort. My appetite has been mostly nonexistent. For most meals, I have only been able to eat 3-4 bites of food without feeling like I am stuffed. All in all, I would still recommend it. I am proud of my weight loss and have recently joined a gym again. I want to work on regaining muscle mass and make sure I don't gain the weight back. My biggest fear is gaining the weight back after all I went through to lose it. There are no real guidelines on how long or at what dose to stay on after losing the desired amount of weight."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I gained 70 pounds during the pandemic. December 2019, I was 138 pounds standing at 5'3. Then in January 2021, I was 209. I started having back pain and foot pain from the weight. I tried dieting, but I am a single mom that doesn't have time to cook healthy every night, and I work around food, so I told my doctor he has to prescribe me something to lose weight. He saw it was taking a toll on my health as well, so he started me on .25 Wegovy injections. I lost 13 pounds my first month. I had nausea once or twice, nothing I couldn't handle, and I vomited only once. I even had more energy. Then he prescribed me the .5 the next month, but pharmacies all in a 30-mile radius were on backorder for the entire summer with no hopes of getting it in until the end of September. I kept being persistent with the pharmacist, and she said, have your doctor call me, he can up your milligram, and we can get that dose in 2 days, so at this point, I was desperate and starting to gain back the 13 pounds I lost. So I was upped to 1.7. OMG"

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a type 2 diabetic and need to lose weight. I started using Wegovy 8 weeks ago. It took a few days for the nausea to go away, but it did as my body got acclimated to the medicine. It has curbed my appetite, and I’m eating healthier. I’ve lost almost 19 lbs, my A1C is lower, and I feel better daily. Now, I have to stop it because so many people are on it, it’s backordered for months. I guess they weren’t prepared for how popular it would be."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on it for about a year now. So far, I haven't had much in the way of side effects. The only thing I have noticed is some nausea and reduced appetite, especially when I increase the dose. Constipation also has been an issue off and on. I have experienced the bonus of weight loss while on it, losing 27 pounds so far. It has definitely helped my blood sugar, as I have been able to reduce the amount of insulin needed by 6 units so far, and it is rare I need to use any shorter-acting insulin at all. Pleased with my results so far."
