Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Wegovy 6 weeks ago at 0.25 mg for 4 weeks, and for the last 2 weeks at 1 mg. I started at 211 lbs and am now 197 lbs, so have lost 14 lbs and counting in 6 weeks. Not bad! Symptoms I've experienced include being slightly more tired than usual on the day of the injection, and some constipation at first but I use Miralax if there's an issue and it works fine for me. I haven't had any extreme nausea, but the injection definitely makes me less hungry and there are certain foods that I feel slightly queasy even considering eating-like high-fat foods-so I don't eat them. I eat a lot more fruits and vegetables and get full very quickly. I work out 4-5 days a week, my energy has been good and I feel like I'm getting back to my old self. I'd like to be about 135 lbs eventually. Wegovy has been a lifesaver. I'm 55 years old and had considerable cravings, especially at night. I'm happy to be free of them. I hope to make my new habits permanent."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I started taking Ozempic in June for weight loss. The side effects aren't bad: constipation and nausea. I've lost 50 lbs so far, 40 more to go!"

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "At this time, I’m on my 5th week of the maintenance dose. The only side effect I’ve had is occasional constipation, but as a 25-year medical professional, I know how to deal with it medically and in conjunction with my VA doctor and pharmacist. At times, I would get hypoglycemic, but again I knew how to combat that. At this dose, I find myself somewhat more fatigued but I can deal with that. Cat naps usually do the trick. I started at 393 and 6’3”. I’m 56 years old. I’m down to 349 since I started, which for me is great. I have critical low testosterone and can’t take testosterone due to my history of pulmonary embolisms. So, I don’t mind losing only 2 pounds a week. I can now walk so much better and farther. I’m 95% VA disability rated, and I’ll tell you, I feel and look so much better after starting to use Wegovy. The VA truly cares for us veterans no matter what you hear. Stay blessed and hang in there."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Was placed on this medication to help with PCOS-caused insulin resistance and obesity. The first two months were a bit uncomfortable - I was nauseated a lot and had bouts of constipation and diarrhea. Fortunately, immediately starting it, my sugar cravings disappeared. I think I had a rough couple of months because of my old eating habits since this medicine slows how fast your stomach empties. As I developed better eating habits, this has gone away completely. I’ve been on this for almost a year now and have lost almost 60 lbs. I’m about 5 lbs away from being a normal weight and I’m barely making any effort at this point; the weight is just coming off. I feel the healthiest I’ve felt in over a decade and have been seeing my PCOS symptoms reduce as the weight comes off. This medicine was a miracle for me. I’ve struggled for a decade trying to get my weight under control. Once the insulin resistance was resolved, it literally fell off."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’m very happy with my weight loss progress on semaglutide! I’m currently using 0.5 mg and have had a bit of nausea in the beginning, but that’s greatly improved. The only other negative side effect I’ve noticed is some constipation, which I manage with sugar-free Citrucel. I’m easily able to extend my daily fasting to 22:2. Cravings are gone, and I definitely don’t eat as much as before (this also changes bowel habits, so less in = less out.) I’m easily losing +8 lbs/month. Grateful as anything to my endocrinologist for helping me with this project. I find it very easy to use. I do log my food, watch my macros, and drink lots of water (100 oz/daily.) I sip all day long, so it’s more of a habit and little effort."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I started taking Ozempic one year ago: 4 weeks at .25, 4 weeks at .5, and then 1 mg for the remainder of the year. My A1C has fallen from 6.9 (diabetes) to 5.6 (normal), and I have lost 48 pounds. My blood pressure was high, and now it is 120/76 without medication. I had serious diarrhea for about two weeks when I went from the .5 dose to the 1 mg dose, but I waited it out, and it eventually went away, and I have had constipation off and on. Those are the only side effects. I am 65 years old, and I never thought I could lose this much weight and normalize my blood sugar. I have another 50 pounds to lose, so my doctor is going to move me to the 2 mg dose to see if that helps with the weight loss, since my weight loss has slowed down. I highly recommend sticking out the side effects for a few weeks to see if they improve."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Please state how much you are on, it is helpful to others. I am on .5. Type 2 diabetic, 25 years. I started on .25 and moved up to .5 after a month. I have lost about 17 lbs thus far and am back into a size 8 (US) dress. I have had a lot of nausea, constipation, and dizziness. They may move me up to a .75 dose, as my sugar is controlled, but not as well as it could be. However, this medication has been life-changing. I have stopped taking all glucose-lowering pills and take no insulin now. I am on Jardiance too, a similar drug. These new meds are fantastic. If you are on the fence, give these a try, they are much more effective than the older drugs, in my opinion."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Working with a board-certified obesity physician who suggested I try Ozempic. I am not diabetic but was pre-diabetic in 2015 and was on 1,000 mg Metformin until February of this year. I LOVE Ozempic. I feel like a normal human who doesn't think about food constantly, who can now leave food on my plate (because of Ozempic) and not pick at other people's plates. I've lost 32 pounds in 19 weeks!! I never had any gastrointestinal problems with the exception of being constipated, so I take something for that a couple of times a week. It is much better than the diarrhea I had with Metformin. I started on .025 mg for the first four weeks, then went to .05 mg and plan to stay on that as long as it works. BUT PLEASE BE AWARE, you have to cut down on carbs like breads, pastas, and sweets. I don't have a craving for sweets anymore. My doctor said Ozempic doesn't work as well if you keep eating those kinds of carbs, and I have noticed that when I cheat. I'm 74, something about 'old dog new tricks'"

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "57-year-old on this for 3 1/2 weeks. I'd like to tell you how much I lost (was 4 pounds at 3 weeks), but I am so constipated for 4 days I cannot be sure what my real weight is (it could be 6 pounds now). Get a telemedicine provider to send you a vial of semaglutide (not the pre-loaded syringes) and use an insulin syringe to administer 1/2 the dose on one day with an ODT Zofran, then take the second half of the dose 24 hours later with another ODT Zofran. I administer in my outer thigh, like you would give insulin. The provider will tell you exactly how many 'units' to administer per week, just cut it in half, say Saturday and Sunday. Take a stool softener on Sunday, which I forgot to do this week! I have had zero gastrointestinal issues, no nausea, no vomiting. The Zofran may be causing some of the constipation, and I don't consider this a real issue, just a minor side effect with an easy fix. I am a Nurse Practitioner, so I have been watching everything for real side effects. I'll update."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I have been prescribed Ozempic off-label in the UK for the last 5 months for weight loss purposes. At the beginning, the side effects were quite bad, but my prescriber gave me anti-nausea, acid reflux, and constipation relief with every prescription, which helped immensely. I no longer need to use any of these meds, as the side effects have gone, aside from occasional acid reflux. The side effects started to ease around week 8 for me, so consistency and perseverance are key. I have gradually titrated up to 2mg once a week, which is amazing for me. I can't eat as much as I used to, and I'm not tempted to binge as much. I have lost just over 2 stone. This is a MIRACLE DRUG for me, as no matter how much effort I put into exercising, I couldn't lose the weight. It's cheaper here in the UK to buy than it is in the US, but it's still costly to pay for monthly. For me, the cost is nothing compared to the sense of my physical appearance and feelings. I feel so much healthier and look so much healthier."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Ozempic last October. I started on 0.25 and had mild digestive issues. Constipation was the worst. Then my dose was increased to 0.5, and my abdominal pain was unbearable. Switched back to 0.25 and still had problems with the lower dose. Read online about injecting in the thigh instead of the stomach and feel much better. Continuing on 0.25 with only mild discomfort. I won’t inject in my stomach anymore!"

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I have been battling hypoactive thyroid and autoimmune disease for several years. I gained weight with hypoactive thyroid (apparently it can happen to some people) and even more with all the medication and medication side effects. My doctors decided to put me on Ozempic to aid with the uncontrollable weight gain. I have just started, it is day 6 for me and so far no side effects apart from some constipation, but this can be attributed to eating way less. I am going to be on a low dose for the first 4-6 weeks, so we started with 0.25 mg. Already a couple of hours after the injection, I had lost my appetite, I suddenly view sweets and white bread/pastries/pasta as inedible plastic, I have zero cravings, I can drink just a half a glass of water OR have just a couple of olives OR a small piece of goat cheese and I feel full (as if my stomach has shrunk into a tiny one) and do not want to eat for hours or at all, so I have reminders set that I need to have a bite. It feels amazing."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started Wegovy in Oct 2021. Down 30 lbs. It definitely curbs your appetite. The first couple of months were getting used to the change in signals from my body. Hunger pains felt different and not so intense. I did experience nausea - the doctor prescribed an anti-nausea medicine that helped greatly. Constipation was also an issue - again, the doctor suggested Milk of Magnesia, which helped with that. This has absolutely been a game changer for me. My struggles before were always being hungry, and I mean always. No matter how I curbed my diet (not a junk food/pop drinker at all) and exercised, I just could not lose weight. I had to stop it last month, not because I wanted to, but because my insurance company refuses to cover it. Even though I completely qualify for coverage, they said because the manufacturer could not keep it in stock, they won't cover it. Now I'm trying to maintain the meal portioning I was used to on Wegovy, but it's harder now that the hunger feelings are back."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I've been taking Ozempic since January 2022 for weight loss. I started out with a 0.25 mg weekly injection, which was increased to a 0.5 mg weekly injection after the first pen. To date, four months later, I've lost 33 pounds, down to 265 pounds from 298 pounds. My appetite is significantly reduced, and I've implemented healthy diet changes with the help of the weight loss clinic where I'm a patient. Recently, I began experiencing constipation, which is a known side effect. My physician recommended Miralax to combat the constipation."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started using this as a last effort to lose weight. I had tried everything I knew to do. My doctor starts out with a very low dose (0.10) and takes it up each week (0.20, 0.30, etc.). I experienced a little nausea my first week but severe nausea my second week. She just kept me at 0.20 for 2 weeks until I was no longer feeling that. I am now at 0.30, not because of nausea but because it is working so well at that dosage. I have had constipation for several days and then diarrhea for a couple of hours, but I am eating so little that I don’t have much in me. I am drinking a lot of water (always have) and haven’t experienced tiredness or fatigue. In the first 5 weeks, I lost 11 lbs. and 5 1/2 inches. I’m really happy so far. I never thought they would make anything that helped me. I do eat, just very small amounts. I do get a small rash at the injection site, but I use Benadryl cream and it slowly goes away."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I have been taking Ozempic since March 12, 2022. I started at the .025 dose for 4 weeks. I had a little nausea, but nothing serious, and some constipation. I have now been on the .050 dose and have very little appetite, and no other symptoms have remained other than occasional constipation. I have to remind myself at times to eat. I have more energy than I have had in years and feel so much better in my clothes. Since March, I have lost 25 lbs. This has been a life changer for me as I feel so much better. I am still 45 pounds from my goal weight, but this drug has definitely helped me. I give the shot in my thighs, as I have read many comments on here to do so for fewer symptoms, and I believe that is why I have done so well."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started on Ozempic 12 weeks ago in Jan 2022, which is the same as Wegovy in a lower dosage. I spent 4 weeks on the 0.25 dosage, losing 2 lbs. Moved up to the 0.5 dosage for 4 weeks, losing another 2 lbs, moved up to the 1 dosage for 4 weeks, and lost an additional 3 lbs. I just took my first dose of Wegovy at the 1.7 dosage, and wow can I tell a difference. I won’t lie, I have experienced a few side effects, such as constipation, some abdominal pain, nausea, headache, and diarrhea, but all have been mostly mild and very tolerable. Nothing that can’t be helped with eating a little less. The key to managing all of it is learning how to eat properly with the right portion sizes. Only eat until you are satisfied rather than full. For me, it is well worth dealing with mild side effects in order to achieve a healthy lifestyle!"

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Started a month ago to help lose some weight. I started with 0.25 and now increasing to 0.5 with a 1 shot a week variant. Read the instructions on how to use the pen or talk to a specialist. The description is good. Lost 5 kg/10 lbs in 4 weeks. Small reaction after getting the shot (you feel it and it burns a little) for about an hour, slightly feeling nauseous for that same period. Nothing to worry about. Have a friend on the 'every day' variant. She has red marks for 2 days but no other symptoms. The weight loss for her is the same. She switches injection place (stomach left/right - upper arm left/right - upper legs left/right)… I always use the same location. Feel more constipated… keep an eye on that (eat fresh fruits and it might help, if you’re allowed). My craving for food and sugar is less. Had a strange reaction (black spots before my eyes) when I ate a sugary snack last week. Don’t know if it’s related. Never had it before. Never had it again… (the black spots, not the snack)."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "So I am 5'4" and I found myself at the weight I was when I delivered my children, 145 pounds. For three years plus, I desperately tried to approach my goal weight of 125 pounds, dieting and feeling miserable for 3 years. I told my doctor I was dieting and exercising and could not budge the scale. At 60 years of age, the weight just doesn’t come off like when you are young. I’ve been on Wegovy for 6 weeks and have lost 12 pounds-a miracle! Now at 133 pounds, I’m staying the course to my goal. I will say the nausea is the worst side effect and comes in intermittent waves. I have Zofran (ondansetron) for when I can’t take the nausea. One of the best side effects for me has been totally eradicating my diarrhea. I have irritable bowel on the diarrhea spectrum, and luckily I did not get the diarrhea side effect but more the constipation, which has totally normalized my GI tract! I am so happy about this and assume this is due to slowing gastrointestinal motility."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am on my first week of the 2.4 dose (so I am just starting month 5). My weight loss seems a bit slower than others (story of my life), BUT I am still losing! I’ve lost 26 pounds in 5 months with making few modifications to my diet. I eat similarly to how I did before, but my portions are much smaller. I have experienced some side effects, but everyone’s experience is different. I can usually combat the upset stomach and gas with Gas-X and Pepto. I have experienced constipation, but that’s honestly something I’ve battled all of my adult life. Miralax in my morning tea or coffee certainly helps with that. Bottom line for me is this… the occasional side effects are 100% worth the results I’m seeing!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic at 0.25 mg weekly 6 months ago and have gradually increased to 1.0 mg weekly. I did experience very mild nausea at first, but I paid attention to my body and just ate less. I have experienced some constipation and have taken over-the-counter medication for that. I have lost just under 4 pounds a month for the last 5 months. I need about 30 percent less insulin. My appetite has decreased. I eat less at meals and rarely snack. My A1c is under 7. For me, Ozempic has caused a significant improvement in my life."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took my ninth shot on Saturday at 1.0 mg after 4 weeks on .25 mg and .50 mg. As of today, I have lost 16 lbs and am a 66-year-old female. I have had very few side effects, just a little nauseous feeling and constipation. I lost over 9 lbs in my first 4 weeks and just a few lbs in the next 4 weeks. I did drink a soft drink each day during weeks 5-8 and have quit that, and the loss seems to be working better."
