Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Ozempic for 3 months now, and I find this drug works like none I have tried before. The first 6 weeks were rough: burping, headaches, fatigue, nausea, but I stuck it out. I’m so glad I did. My A1C has gone from 8 to 6.8 in three months. I have lost 20 pounds, going from 180 to 160 lbs. My daily sugars have seen a vast improvement. The major thing I have noticed after being on the drug for this long is that recovery time after eating high-carb or high-sugar foods is back to normal. Appetite is still lacking, but it’s mostly an aversion to ‘bad’ food. I can no longer sit and eat an entire burger, it’s just way too much, but a healthy salad, I can eat the whole thing! I have seen major benefits from this drug. I have way more energy and no more 3 pm crash. Tips while adjusting to the drugs: Tums, Gravol, lots of sleep, light healthy meals, and remember to drink water! Also, I found injecting Ozempic in the hip lessened the symptoms for the first while."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started at 0.25 ml mid-January 2025. After one month and no side effects, I was down 16 pounds. Second month I titrated up to 0.5 ml. No side effects and lost an additional 8 pounds. Third month titrated up to 1 ml. Three days in, I have been experiencing explosive, uncontrollable diarrhea, sulfur burps, and mild stomach cramps. Trying to control it with Pepto-Bismol and Imodium offered only a brief half-day respite, and then the diarrhea was back with a vengeance. Still losing about 2 pounds per week, but only sticking to the BRAT diet, supplementing with saltines and oatmeal. Water and Gatorade are my main sources of fluids as I am trying to stay hydrated. Decided to speak with the doctor and seek blood work and stool sampling just to make sure nothing else is going on. Depending on what comes of this, I hope to keep continuing on with this medication as it has helped me tremendously with weight loss, lowered my A1C, and boosted my self-confidence with respect to how I look and feel."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Lower doses caused constipation, at the highest dose of 2, I experienced a full day of being sick to my stomach after injection. On these days, I ate saltine crackers and drank Coke Zero. The following days, I felt bloated and experienced burping and gas. However, I continued to lose weight, and my A1c was down to 7.6."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I’m having good results as far as the type 2 diabetes. I’m losing weight, which is always a good thing. At this time, I’ve lost 20 lbs in 9 weeks. My current dose is .50 once a week. As for the side effects, I’m tolerating the medication well. No horrible symptoms, but the burping and flatulence are terrible. I’ve never dealt with anything like it. But it’s worth the little amount of nuance it causes."

Cholesterol (HDL and LDL) WNL. HDL was low and LDL high prior to Ozempic. Experienced moderate constipation, treated well with Senokot. Minor nausea at times. Belching if ate too fast."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "1. Very good to date with stabilizing my glucose levels. 2. Unpleasant gastric conditions, i.e., bloating, burping, farting, constipation. 3. I'm taking 0.5 mg weekly and finding it very, very difficult to maintain a regular supply of the 0.025 to 0.5 mg dosage."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "After 4-6 weeks, I still suffer various levels of intensities of nausea, but short-lived diarrhea, plenty of burping, and fatigue that is often overwhelming. Some days, no problems. I manage the symptoms by enduring until they ease up, or I may choose to seek fast relief using what's available. Its benefits are now close to 'tight control' and significant weight loss (overcoming the stagnant plateau of a period of weight loss)."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic to assist with my A1C. It was at 7.3 or so. After a month or two, it went down to 5.3. I have lost almost 50 pounds in the year I have been on it (up to 1 mg dose). It really works to suppress the appetite most of the time. The bad: diarrhea, belching (especially after high-carb or sugary foods), nausea at times (when I first started, it was horrible), going from not hungry to starving to puking in a matter of seconds. My husband is also on it, but he doesn't have the same side effects. It's easy to use if you can get over poking yourself with a needle every week. I get some injection site burning pain that goes away quickly."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "7/2/22 I have been on Ozempic for almost a week. My 2nd injection is this Friday. I will give my experience for the first week...and update in 3 months. My insurance covers this, and I only pay $24 for a 6-week dose. I have been on probiotics and magnesium for many years. I will keep using them through my Ozempic journey. I injected this at the starting dose of 0.25 in my thigh. The only side effects I have had are burping. No nausea and no other GI issues. I eat because I love the taste of some food. I just simply love the taste, and if it is really good, it is hard for me to stop. Not because I am hungry, but because it tastes so good. I snack when I am bored or at my desk while I work. I have found that, so far, Ozempic does not take my desire away for good-tasting foods, but I do get full very quickly, and I stop. Because of the lack of side effects and low cost, I will keep taking it and will update in 3 months!"

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started on Wegovy in December 2021. In the beginning, it made me sick to my stomach. I had the belching and very little appetite. When I got to 0.50 mg, oh my God! I could hardly eat anything for a couple of days. I was scared to go to the next level, but I did. When I was on the 1 mg dose, I didn't have any issues. Once I got to 1.7 mg, it wasn't bad either- a little belching, headaches for a couple of days, upset stomach, and constipation kicked in. Getting ready to start the maintenance level of 2.4 mg, and let's pray I tolerate it well. So far, I have only lost about 27 lbs, trying to lose about 17 more to get to my ideal weight. This is the best medicine that has helped me lose and, prayerfully, keep it off. I have learned how to eat small meals and make better choices in foods."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Halfway through the 1.7mg dose. Been on for about 4.5 months. Have lost a total of 35 pounds. My weight loss has slowed down since on the 1.7 dose. Still losing but not as quickly as in the beginning. Have no real interest in food anymore. Sometimes have to eat when not hungry due to low blood sugar (had this prior to Wegovy use). Been trying to lose weight for months. Wegovy is the only thing to work for my obesity due to medical issues. Have noticed off and on fatigue, dizziness, constipation, stomach pain, gas, belching, and hair loss. Can no longer eat fried, greasy food without feeling sick, which is good. Now I want healthy food instead."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Ozempic for 2 months, and it has done wonders for me. I had been on insulin for 1.5 months prior to starting it and gained 20 lbs. I started on Ozempic, and my A1C dropped along with my daily numbers. I just stopped all insulin! I read reviews prior to starting on it and work really hard at not overeating and eating low carbs. I get bouts of nausea and burps at times, so I carry sugar-free mints with me. Nothing major. I’ve dropped 10 lbs and am on a 0.5 dose. This drug has been amazing for me. Watch portions, carbs, and greasy foods! So happy to be off insulin!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been on Ozempic about 8 months. I went to the 1 mg dose pretty quickly. My sugars became normal. I was losing about 5 lbs every two weeks. My A1C went from 6.8 to 5.6. No side effects at all. I’ve lost about 30 pounds overall. About 6 weeks ago, I got sulfur burps, then nausea, then vomiting. I vomited 9 times over maybe 6 hrs. Thought it was food poisoning. Yesterday, I again got sulfur burps followed by nausea and then vomiting. This morning again, burps, vomiting, and watery diarrhea. Thought it odd it would again be food poisoning. I never get sick. Then thought maybe it was E. coli or gastroparesis. Then I happened upon this site and started reading the reviews of Ozempic. I don’t know why it would take so many months for any side effects to show, but it sounds like this is most likely the cause of my vomiting and diarrhea. I took my last dose two days ago. I take it every two weeks. I think I’ll cut back to 0.50 next time and see what happens."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been on this med for 7 weeks. I’ve lost 25 lbs and my daily blood sugars range from 60 - 90. I use it along with 500 mg Metformin. The first couple of weeks were hard with nausea and stomach cramps. I also had the headaches that others have mentioned in the first couple of days. In week 3, I increased from 0.25 to 0.50. Then came the diarrhea. It wasn't too bad, I was just happy that I could go. I’m now taking 1.0 and experiencing sulfuric burping. Ugh! After doing some research on home remedies to help with the burping, I’m trying a spoon of apple cider vinegar. If you can make it through the first few weeks and you can be somewhat disciplined, you will notice a huge difference in how you feel. In my opinion, the side effects are manageable when I compare the weight gain while taking Insulin. BTW - I’m not severely obese. Prior to being on this drug, my weight was 205, and I’m 5’9 and 47 years old. I hope this is helpful to someone."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Gas and belching is bothering my wife more than me. Doesn't seem to be getting any less with time. It did get worse when I started Repatha injections. Side effects aren't great, but not likely to kill me. Using 1 mg now, but the doctor is suggesting 2 mg, which to me sounds like double the effects. It's usually one or two days a week that aren't great... 3 or 4 days a week, and the wife will move to a spare room. Weight reduction has been 1 to 1.5 lbs a week."

At 1 mg on my to 2 mg. Still taking tablets and insulin for the best glucose control. Lowered my A1C by one (1) full point so far!"

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I started on Ozempic when my health professional informed me I was pre-diabetic and had high cholesterol. Because I wanted to lose some weight, I asked her if I could try Ozempic, and she agreed to write the prescription for me. I've been on Ozempic since mid-April 2023, and I've had some success. I've lost 8 pounds since starting, but like many people, I've experienced nasty side effects, for example, sulfur burps, gas, and stomach discomfort. Although I've had these side effects, they have not been that serious, and I'm able to deal with them. I've tried increasing my dose to 0.5 mg, but the side effects got worse, and considering that my appetite and my cravings have decreased, I've decided to stay at 0.25 mg. I do find, however, that the day before my next dose, my appetite comes back. I need to be more mindful when that happens, and old habits are hard to change. I see a dietitian to help me plan balanced meals. In conclusion, I've stuck with Ozempic."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Been on a 1 mg dose for 15 days, and my appetite is very low. Side effects are belching, GERD (for which I already receive treatment), and vomiting. So losing weight has been easy when food is removed from the equation. I have lost 8 lbs so far. Hoping to see improvement in A1c and lowered insulin dose in the future."
