"I took Oxybutinin ER 10mg for almost 5 years before it stopped working over the course of one week. It was my absolute savior while it worked. I have never leaked but had the maddening sensation that I urgently needed to pee, CONSTANTLY, even if I just peed a second ago. I had dry mouth and some fatigue at first but the side effects dissipated over time. Try this med!"

"This drug worked great with very few side effects when I was taking a 5mg pill. I was still leaking a little, so my Dr increased it to 10mg. That's when the problems began. Dizziness, extreme fatigue, gas, bloating, nausea and it appeared to not work at all on the higher dosage. I'm going back down to 5mg. At least I could function at work and had no fatigue.I guess sometimes a lower dose is better. Especially when it comes to the horrible side effects."

Oxytrol (oxybutynin) "Started having an overactive bladder after having a UTI treated with the wrong antibiotic. I was given two different samples of meds by a urologist and had negative reactions to both. I took a gamble with Oxytrol and omg it started working within a few hours. I left the first patch on for 4 days and only used 1/2 and changed it today using the leftover other half. I am so impressed. What a relief not to have that constant feeling. I am thrilled."

"I've been taking it for over 6 months. I started with 5mg 2x a day, but didn't help a lot. The only difference I noticed was that I didn't get up as many times during the night. My doctor upped me to 10mg a day, but have a lot of what I call bladder pressure, which actually hurts. It felt like I had a bad UTI (but didn't). I'm getting new RX for 15mg extended release, which I think will work, since I've tried taking a 10mg in the morning, & 5mg at night, which worked great! The side effects of dry mouth & dry eyes are tolerable to me, ditto the cough, because I have congestive heart failure, & heart meds give me the same side effects, so I'm used to it. I still have to wear a pad, but went from heavy overnight poise pads to moderate leakage pads. "

"This product so far has been horrible for me. I suffer from IC (intersistital cystitis) and it's suppose to reduce the amount of times I urinate, but it hasn't . And honestly sometimes I can't get all of the urine out of my bladder because of this medication. It causes constipation , I pee more with this medication then without . I just feel like I'm never gonna find a pill that'll actually help me. I'm miserable"

Oxytrol (oxybutynin) "I am very upset and disappointed in this product. It says the patch last for 4 days, (well it might if it stayed on) no matter where I put it as soon as I took a shower it became a hard plastic and fell off. So every day I had to put a new patch on, so instead of 4 patches lasting me 16 days I only got 4 patches for 4 days. I don't know about any other women there but I take a shower everyday, I am not going 4 days without a shower! Not happy at all! :("

"I have been taking oxybutynin for the past four years. IT was effective when I first started taking it. Last year I had a TURP surgery on my prostate. Even since then it seems that the oxybutynin has stopped working. I'm now sitting here with extreme urge that is non stop. I need a new med that is different from Oxy. Hopefully my dr will prescribe me myrbetriq or something."

"I have multiple sclerosis and one of the most annoying symptoms is urinary issues. I have to go A LOT, don't have a lot of time to actually get to the bathroom and I wake up 4-5 times per night to go. I have tried a few other medicines for this but Oxybutynin ER has been the only one that made a difference. Now I only get up 1-2 times per night and I can go out without fear of finding a bathroom in time. Only side effect I've had is severe dry mouth, but it does make me drink more water so not a total negative."

"I actually take it for both overactive bladder as well as excessive sweating I've been taking 10mg 2x a day. I've been taking it about a year. I still have EXCESSIVE sweating and I have SEVERE constipaton...to the point where stool softeners don't even work. I also feel like I have a bladder infection a lot of the time. I'm going to the dr in a few days and I'm getting off of this stuff. It has helped my bladder problems though, so I'm bummed about that. It was nice while it lasted. Hopefully my dr has something else to try."

Oxytrol (oxybutynin) "It helps but unfortunately all Walmarts in Reno Nv are constantly out of stock. I went to a pharmacy thinking surly they must stock the product but I had no luck. The pharmacist had no I deal what this product was. I felt like the pharmacist thought I was asking for OxyContin. I wish they would change the name and stock the store better with this product. What a shame now I will have to depend on a physician for a perscription. This product only helps for the first two days not for four days as advertised."

"I have Interstitial cystitis and was going like every thirty minutes. Oxybutynin worked great at first but then eventually caused retention so bad that I had to stop taking it because I was actually using the bathroom even more because my bladder wasn’t emptying. It also made me so constipated I developed hemorrhoids."

"This was prescribed to me for bladder spasms and I took it for a couple months and it did nothing but make the spasms worse. It actually made my pelvic floor muscles so tight that I had to push to urinate. I've tried it on more than one occasion and it was always an unpleasant and unhelpful experience."

"I took this drug for three days. Starting on day 2, I experienced slight nausea and didn't eat for the next 48 hours. On day 3, I had slight diarrhea a couple of times. In the afternoon of day 3, I had such severe diarrhea that I didn't make it to the bathroom while at work. This has never happened to me before, and I'm 60 years old. This drug is awful, and I will never take it again. It didn't even work for my overactive bladder (OAB). I switched to Myrbetriq, and it works without any side effects. It may be pricey, but you get what you pay for."

"This was prescribed as an alternative to Myrbetriq due to expense and increased blood pressure when I tried sample for a few weeks. Initially it seemed to help with frequency but it was short lived. I continued to give it a try for 2 months but the side effects of stomach pain and gas worsened in addition to weakness and I had to stop. I would not recommend if you have any stomach sensitivity."

Oxytrol for Women (oxybutynin) "I just started this patch today, but I must say..so far I am in love! I am 27, and over the past year I have became more and more irritated with my bladder. I am a bartender, and I have very busy, hectic nights when walking away from the bar just isn't an option....and yet I always have to ask my boss to cover the bar for me while I use the ladies room. I'm talking up to 14 times in one shift. I constantly felt like I had to pee, and 20 minutes after I would pee, I felt like if I didn't go again, it would just start coming out on its own. I only went to the bathroom FIVE times while at work. (From 2pm-11pm). I am very pleased. No side affects so far, even with my sensitive skin. This product is life changing!!!"

"I experienced most of the side effects listed and stopped taking it. At present 2day after my vision was impaired it remains in that state. I would like to know if just stopping use is sufficient to cause the side effects to cease."

"From day 2 of taking this medication I suffered all the major side effects you are told about plus the ones you have to search for, the worst being a permanent headache and wanting to sleep constantly. After 2 weeks of use my pharmacist told me to stop taking the tablets, this was over a week ago and the side effects still persist, have had to visit my doctor who doesn't know the half life of this medicine (it was prescribed by my surgeon). I have had to have blood and urine tests and won't know what damage has been done until I get the results back. I can't even drive until the symptoms settle."

Oxytrol (oxybutynin) "In less than 48 hours I developed extreme itching, redness and blistering under the patch. I removed the patch and there were large water blisters underneath. So, obviously I discontinued using the patches. Out of 32.00 bucks."

"Love it! Immediate relief! I take 10mg of Oxybutynin every morning and it gets me through the day. I've been on this approx a year and don't feel I have any side effects. I should ask my husband if he notices any differences in me.. more forgetful, etc. Maybe some dry mouth but nothing I can't live with. Sips of water help that. I feel like I have my life again :) I have noticed that I now can't go through the night without an accident so I need to ask my Dr. if I can take some in the late afternoon to get me through the night. Overall... love it!!"

Oxytrol (oxybutynin) "Absolute life changer, after taking sleeping medications for 3 weeks solid, I had a new unexpected urinary urgency impacting my ability to go out at all. 12-15 times a day and a horrible depression associated. After urologist consultation and within 1 hour of application of patch immediate relief from all symptoms. No side effects or problems with adhesive patch. Was able to stretch out to 5 days and off after 5 months."

"I have been on Oxybutynin for a little over a month, it has helped reduce the urgency and frequency of urination. I started with a 5mg extended-release tablet and went to 10mg to see if it was more effective. I haven't been on the higher dose long enough to know if it increases the effectiveness or not, all I know is that there has been an improvement since I started taking it, but I still have times when the urgency is strong, just not as strong. After reading the comments here I must say that I am fortunate that the only side effect I have had is mild dry mouth, and that is only when I first wake up in the morning."

"I'm 21 and unfortunately have had this condition for awhile but just recently seeked treatment for it. This is the only medication I have tried so far but it is pretty decent and helps the majority of the time. I really have no side efffects except occasionally dry mouth. It also cause constipation so I also have to take laxatives on the side. Overall, I have had no problems on it."

"I use the patch and it has helped very much but also I had problems with the adhesive not coming off so I talked to Walgreens and ordered a adhesive remover (they ordered it came in the next day). The remover works great. I also get the red rash but it don't itch so all in all I'm very happy with the product.I wish I could get a coupon to help with the cost. I hope this helps."

"Took this for my overactive bladder. Then all the sudden it was really hard to pee. Now I have to pee all the time and I can’t fully empty my bladder. Would not recommend this to anyone. My skin also dried out horribly."
