Oxybutynin "Drug works, but the patch is horrible. It is plastic and wrinkles up. The edges don't adhere well, so the patch is always sticking to my clothes. I hope they fix this issue. If they do, I will buy again, but for now, I'm going to save my money."

"Started taking oxybutynin as I was having a frequent need to urinate, terrible bladder spasms/pressure/discomfort, and the need to urinate after I had already gone. It was almost constant and depressing. Sometimes I used a heating pad on my pelvis to relax as much as possible. Started taking oxybutynin, but it wasn't helping a great deal until I started taking the extended release. That has been a lifesaver for me. It started working within 2 weeks, even though it could take up to 6 weeks to kick in. Maybe because I had already been taking the regular oxybutynin a few weeks prior. Either way, a miracle, and I don't think I will have to increase the dose at this point. I am drinking plenty of water and trying to eat plenty of fiber to avoid side effects."

"I have only rated this med a 1 simply because of the side effects. I am so disappointed. The meds actually work so well, I went from going to the bathroom every 20 minutes and 5 or 6 times a night to around 8 times a day, but oh my, the side effects. After 2 days I had to stop the medication. The worst migraine of my life, nausea, dizziness, blurred vision, and I felt like my heart was about to jump out of my chest. Please whoever makes this, please fix the side effects, so that I can take this med."

Oxybutynin "Using for bladder problems (inflexible bladder muscles). Lengthens the time between needing to go and stops the spasms while trying to hold on. Only the maximum dose really does much. Makes me drowsy and makes my mouth so dry it gets sore. It's better than nothing at all."

Oxybutynin "Red, raised skin, itchy and uncomfortable reaction at each site to the adhesive that was lasting for a week - so not only site with a patch but also from the previous patch. Dry mouth, dizziness, and nausea, but yes, reduced need to run for the bathroom, just the side effects starting causing as many problems as it was meant to be solving."

"Have used this for 3-1/2 years. It seemed to lose effectiveness after 2-1/2 years. But it is still helpful. I still go frequently and get up 2-3 times at night (vs. 3-4 times), but it takes 'the edge off' and I can wait longer and feel less urgency. I take 5 mg at night. I've stopped taking it for 60 days at a time on two separate occasions, and I can clearly see the medicine helps a lot."

Oxybutynin "I've been on the patch for almost 24 hours now. The only issue I am having is bad stomach cramps along with diarrhea, so hopefully that stops in the next few days. I don't want to get my hopes up just yet, but I have noticed that the urgency and frequency have decreased for me."

"The side effects are horrible! For me, it causes really bad dizziness and blurred vision, and my eyes don't focus like they should. It also causes me to feel spaced out, and it affects my cognitive function. I've had really bad short-term memory with this drug, and the dry eyes and dry mouth are horrible. It has mostly helped with my overactive bladder, but I don't think it's worth the side effects."

Oxybutynin "Medicine made me feel very ill, nausea, extreme drowsiness, slept twelve hours after just two doses. Had difficulty swallowing and it felt like there were sticks in my throat. The drug did not seem to work that well but stopped taking due to the side effects."

"Worked really well to keep my urination down from 20 times a day to maybe 6, depending, of course, on the amount of liquid I consume. I was also prescribed this to help with my out-of-control sweating, and it has helped immensely with this problem also. I do experience severe dry mouth, but I keep gum or a drink handy always. To me, the dry mouth is a worthwhile trade-off for the benefits I get."

"I have been taking this medication for one month, and while it works great for my overactive bladder problem, the side effects are so great I have stopped taking it as of yesterday. I can deal with the dry mouth and sinus problems, but in the 3rd week, I developed severe dizziness/vertigo, and that I can't deal with. I will try something else now."

"I experienced every side effect from oxybutynin that there is. I had to stop taking it after 8 days. I started having involuntary rapid eye movement, massive burning in my chest, dry eyes and throat, dry mouth, bad taste in my mouth, palpitations, and anxiety. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It never worked for the problem it was prescribed for, it only added extra problems."

"First day on Oxybutynin and the urge to urinate every 1 to 5 minutes is gone. Lately, it had gotten so bad that I almost wet myself inside a movie theater. I had to run out of the theater without being able to tell my date where I was running to. I've had this problem for years, but no more with Oxy. My problem slowly progressed to near incontinence. I have previously tried Detrol LA, but had serious side effects and had to quit that one. With Oxybutynin, I still don't have any side effects. I feel great, sharp, and able to concentrate so far."

"I have been taking 5 mg oxybutynin twice a day for about a month now for my overactive bladder. I’m 55. I have sporadic stomach pain, bloating, dry mouth, dry eyes. I’m concerned about the stomach pain and wonder if I should stop taking the medicine. It has helped me, going from 6 trips to the bathroom to about 3. Any feedback about my stomach pain is appreciated."

Oxybutynin "I got a very dry mouth from oxybutynin, my gums were terrible, and sexual dysfunction on 5 mg. It did help with nighttime nocturia. My side effects were okay on 2.5 mg, but it doesn't help the bladder as much."

Oxybutynin "I think the patch worked better for me in the beginning. Less effective now. As far as the sticking, I found it works best on my lower back area. You have to make sure there is no lotion or soap where you apply and then hold your hand over the patch for at least 15 seconds to make sure it adheres. The heat of your hand activates the adhesive. Didn't work on my abdomen, caused severe itching, but not on my backside. My local Walmart is out of stock. I am going to try eBay."

Oxybutynin "I've been struggling for months. I pee. I still need to pee badly. Go again. Same feeling. No burning, but cramps like a period, and sex is terribly painful. Haven't been to the doctor yet, but I think I know what's going on. As a nurse, I've seen this. Struggled for months. I put the patch on yesterday, not even 24 hours, and I feel 80% better. I still feel it, but not near how I did. And if it gets better from here, that would be amazing! I recommend this patch highly. Maybe I should have waited a few days to post this, but the fact that I feel this good already needed to be shared. Worth every penny, and if you think about it, it is not that expensive. I usually get skin irritation from patches, and it's a little itchy already, but weighing out the pros and cons, who cares about itchy skin! Now, if it blisters, I'll be SOL. But for now, I have hope. I thought I had none."

Oxybutynin "I got put on Ditropan for overactive bladder. I had bladder pain a lot too. It helped with not having to go pee all the time. The side effect would give me actual contractions as if I was in the early stages of labor. And my back next to my kidneys would be so painful, it would radiate to my stomach. The pain was extreme. I went to the hospital to get checked out. Luckily, I was fine, nothing was wrong. I had to stop taking the medicine."

"I had 3 seizures after my 2nd dosage. 3 emergency room visits in one night, the nurses were not sure how I lived. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone, please stay away from it, there are plenty of other healthy options. It has caused me to have horrible PTSD."

Oxybutynin "Took for 2 weeks... discontinued because my throat and sinuses were so dry I was having trouble breathing. Plus, it didn't help with frequency... in fact, it seemed to lessen the time between urges. It has been over a week, and I'm just starting to feel normal with my breathing!"

Oxybutynin "Works very well for urgency, etc. An obscure side effect is diminished ability to achieve an erection (and I believe diminished sex drive as well). In addition, I developed dry mouth (no big deal). I tried the generic for Trospium extended release, which did not have the same issues but probably was less effective for bladder control. PS My bladder situation was mild to moderate."

Oxybutynin "So I have multiple sclerosis/frequent and urgent bladder issues. I used these patches for several years with very good results. Worked best for 3 days, wearing for 4 days not as good on last day. Adhesive stays on after removing patch and built up over a period of time, causing skin irritation and redness. Worked best on abdomen, not as well on buttocks. Did not stick well or stay on hip. I think the reason it didn't stay as well on hip and bottom was because of heat in those areas. Overall, very satisfied with the product."

"I was recently diagnosed with OAB a few weeks ago after suffering for the past three months. I was prescribed so many medications leading up to my diagnosis, and they all made it worse. My urologist prescribed oxybutynin 5mg twice a day. I’m on day 6, and my side effects are extreme fatigue, extreme dry eyes to the point where no eye drops help me, constipation, and extreme dry mouth. Yes, it improved my bladder symptoms, but personally, I don’t think it’s worth it."

Oxybutynin "On this for nocturnal enuresis, and I am absolutely loving to have this medication, completely helps with my condition! Have not had any of the symptoms that some of the people's reviews on this website have seemed to experience! Have taken this for about a week and would definitely recommend this drug to someone with my condition or others seen in the reviews! I love this 10g extended relief med!"

Oxybutynin "I really love this product. I don't have the irritation from the patch like some people are having. I did find out that if you have a problem with the patch not sticking, clean the area with rubbing alcohol before placing the patch, and that helps it to stick just fine. Maybe that would also help the ones with the irritation as well. Worth a try anyway. A little crinkling noise is worth dealing with compared to dealing with an overactive bladder. Another small issue is I feel that one patch is not as effective."
