Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "After 6 months of severe congestion, sinusitis, and bronchitis that triggered wheezing with my asthma, unsuccessfully treated with other antibiotics, my doctor prescribed Avelox. I can breathe and not wheezing and on my way to less congestion! I have not had side effects that preclude my stopping this medicine. Powerful and effective."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I have chronic sinus infections that are not unbearable...mostly annoying. I was prescribed Avelox recently and am halfway done with my dose. I have had some seriously horrible reactions to this drug. Granted, it is obviously helping with my sinus infection, but the dizziness, nausea, lightheadedness, dehydration, and overall sick feeling are worse than the sinus infection itself. I am glad that I will no longer have an infection in my body, but isn't there another way? This is awful!"

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "After years of sinus infections, my germs sneer at the usual antibiotics. Augmentin and Ceftin do nothing, in fact, I got more sick every day on Ceftin. Avelox has been the magic bullet for me, and I really don't have any side effects. This doesn't mean someone out there won't be allergic to it, but I am not. Relief begins within hours of the first dose."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I took a second pill and had a severe reaction to it in less than 25 minutes. It started with nausea, hives, extremely dizzy and lightheaded, slurred speech, shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat and rise in blood pressure and heart rate, severe anxiety and weakness."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I had a severe allergic reaction within 1 1/2 hours of taking my first dose. Pounding heartbeat, redness, and fainted for the first time in 57 years of life. I was rushed to the hospital and given steroids and Benadryl to counteract the effects. My blood pressure dropped from a normal 135/80 to 90/45."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "My experience is that I experienced arthritic symptoms in my joints. In particular, my top finger joints where red knobs appeared, and I experienced pain and sometimes itching. I also experienced pain in my Achilles tendon and weakness in legs."

Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "I was prescribed 5 days of Avelox for bronchitis/sinusitis. Seems to have cleared up all the green mucus, but the cough lingered for another week. Another possible side effect is tremendous pain/swelling in my Achilles tendon. Don't know if this was caused by Avelox, but have been doing some research, and that is a possibility. I will be going back to the doctor tomorrow for follow-up, as I can barely walk."

Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "Found this to be a very intense medicine. I am 64 and have a history of chronic bronchitis due to non-repaired scoliosis and am quite susceptible to respiratory issues. On day 1 and 2, my chest and the ability to breathe were tight and restricted. On day 3, much improvement, but followed with severe abdominal cramping and nausea with dry mouth. I have lost 6 pounds and feel quite weak and dread the next dose. I am on it for 10 days."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "This is only the second day I have been on it, and I already notice a tremendous improvement. I took my first dose yesterday afternoon, and when I woke up this morning, I could tell my ears felt much better, as did the never-ending sinus headache. No bad side effects for me so far, and they would have to be very bad for me to quit taking this! Finally, relief!"

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "Only took 1 dose so far, but already feeling better. Had bronchitis and upper respiratory tract infection for a month. Saw the doctor yesterday and diagnosed me with a sinus infection. Avelox 400mg 1/day would have been the highest tier on my copay, so she gave me a full 10 days with samples. Worked amazingly well, though I felt really sleepy the first hour. Could very well be that I'm SICK, not reacting. I'm allergic to other antibiotics (rash/hives), so this was a relief. MAKE NOTE OF THE MANY FOODS/DRUGS TO AVOID WHILE ON THIS. Others have posted their use of vitamins with it, but it clearly states to avoid them."

Moxifloxacin for Bacterial Infection "Taken to address a long-standing prostate infection. On the 4th day of a 20-day course (400 mg once daily). Side effects include: slight to moderate confusion and vertigo. Slight to moderate tinnitus, loss of appetite, pasty mouth, thirst, mild tendonitis in the left knee. I'm not my positive, engaging self, and it's affecting my teaching (high school chemistry). I drive a motorcycle, so the vertigo and confusion symptoms are worrisome. I can deal with the above side effects provided they do not worsen. Prostatitis seems better, but it's too early for any conclusions in that regard. I'm continuing with the treatment."

Moxifloxacin for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I went into the hospital for surgery. I was on three medicines the day of surgery, and an infection happened. I was given Avelox by IV for 6 weeks. In 2011, I had the same situation, so again 6 weeks, calling it an extended amount of Avelox. So I had 24 weeks in all by IV. I have tendon damage so severe that Mayo can do nothing to help me. My toes curl under, and my feet have muscle wasting, fat pad syndrome, the bones now have cysts, and I haven't been able to walk on my feet at all. I went through all of the neuropathy, crying in pain, then I couldn't find my feet because I lost sense of where they were. The motor function burned out to where walking became impossible. Everything else has been ruled out, even by Mayo, one other major hospital, and one is working it out now just to see if they can give me any relief of pain. It's just going up higher, the atrophy is muscle gone forever."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I suffer from sinus/ear infections at least 2-3 times a year. My doctor first prescribed Augmentin, but this only made my symptoms worse. After feeling miserable for 2 weeks, my doctor then prescribed Avelox. Besides the jitteriness, rapid heart rate, and anxiousness, it worked wonders. This medicine cures symptoms quickly, but does have side effects. Everyone is different, so be aware of your body and let your doctor know if you're uncomfortable."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "My brother took this and felt very anxious, my only side effect is feeling super tired and kind of out of it. It really helped my cough, and I think it is starting to help with my chronic sinus infection. I am allergic to Levaquin, so I was nervous taking it since it is in the same drug family. I did not have the same reactions that I had when I was taking Levaquin. I have had five sinus infections in the past six months, and the Z-pac has quit working... so overall things are getting better."

For Pneumonia "I was suffering symptoms from sinusitis (a few months already) and uncontrollable coughing, couldn't breathe. Doc put me on amoxicillin, it didn't even touch my symptoms. Doc took an x-ray, it turns out I have pneumonia. She prescribed a 400 mg/10 day course. I could definitely feel the medicine working its way into my body. Crazy feeling! Anyway, I slept for about three days straight. I was exhausted from feeling so crappy. Just noticing on day 5, my sinuses are clearer, my ear is clear, and the coughing is more productive. The only side effects I have really noticed are tightening in my calf muscles, almost restless legs, and a bit of constipation. Oh, I also had a loss of appetite, but I was okay with it. Not sure if I'll be all better by the end of treatment, but so far, so good. Pleased with the results."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "Avelox was prescribed for my pneumonia, and it’s my 5th day on it, 2 more to go... I feel like it’s helping, but side effects are terrible. I have a lot of pressure on the top of my head, I feel dizzy, and also my blood pressure gets really low. It’s awful, and I don’t know how I’m going to take the last two pills."

Moxifloxacin for Bacterial Infection "Took my first dose of Avelox while I was at work (I am a nurse). About 15-20 minutes later, I began to itch on my neck, then my face and mouth began to swell and itch. Luckily, I was at a place where I could get epinephrine on board right away to prevent an anaphylactic reaction!"

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "It must be my body, but this medicine works within 30 minutes to an hour after ingestion. This is fast-acting per the information I researched. I only had a sinus infection in my left nostril, and it cleared up where I was able to breathe through my nose without an issue. I used to carry around tissue for this purpose. No side effects for me."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "The first two days of taking Avelox were the worst for me; terrible headache and weakness. On the third day, the headache was not as severe. I ended up having an upset stomach for the entire ten days. However, I can breathe better, but I did look forward to taking that last pill."

Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "I am 32 years old, and have no allergies to anything. After taking this drug, I had depression, hallucinations, and very odd thoughts, and felt no consequences to anything I did... so I looked up the side effects, and I had almost everyone. I went to another doctor, and she advised me that this drug has profound mental side effects in adults."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "Numb hands for an hour, severe headache, blurry vision, rash on my arms. And this was with my first dosage. Doctor didn't even ask to see what previous antibiotics worked for me in the past. He just gave me Avelox and prednisone and said, 'On your way.'"

Moxifloxacin for Bacterial Infection "Please read my experience carefully. Months before I took Avelox, the landlord had sprayed all the complex with insect repellent, it was so strong that I felt I couldn't breathe. I went straight away to the doctor, where they administered Ventolin and oxygen. I felt better, but ever since, I became extremely sensitive. I could not smell perfumes or Dettol/gas stations without feeling suffocated. Months later, I got sick with the flu, and the flu went to my chest, and I couldn't breathe and experienced pain in my chest. I was taken to the hospital and was given a nebulizer but didn't feel better, so they did an X-ray and gave me Avelox. I got all the side effects, but it cleared it, and my asthma! Not sensitive anymore! So to keep it short, it fixed my lungs."

Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "So far, I'm on day two, and my coughing has almost stopped. I've had a cough for three weeks, but it got worse almost overnight with a fever of 102 and chills three days ago. My doctor said I had a sinus infection, upper respiratory infection, and bronchitis. I can already tell this antibiotic really works, with only a little dizziness for a side effect."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I have never reacted to an antibiotic, ever, in my whole life. Until now. Within 30 minutes of taking Avelox, I was experiencing nausea, sweats, shortness of breath, and heart flutters. I was so weak I had to be carried to bed. Then the vomiting started, it was short-lived but violent. It also has many NSAID contraindications, so be careful. Especially if your sinus infection is very painful, watch what you take. Glad to see it's worked for some, but for me."
