Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "Was put on a 7-day course and was instantly dizzy, extreme dizziness that made it feel like the floor was moving when walking. It does work fast, though, but the dizziness and anxiety almost makes it unbearable."

Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "Switched from Cednifir to Avelox on day 4 of treatment. Seemed to be a more potent medicine and reduced symptoms quickly. Only side effect was a sped-up metabolic euphoria feeling bordering on being a low anxiety attack. But was able to perform my job, which requires constant and close contact with the public."

Moxifloxacin for Bacterial Infection "Symptoms started clearing 12 hours after the first dose. Doctor prescribed 10 days at 400 mg/day. All of my bacterial symptoms (sore throat, headache, drainage, cough, upset stomach, fever) were gone by dose 4. No serious side effects."

Moxifloxacin for Bacterial Infection "This drug was a miracle for me! I was very skeptical about taking these because of the horrible reviews that are out there. I went to my doctor and he prescribed me Azithromycin. It did nothing for me. My ear got really inflamed, and I was half deaf in my ear. Fluid was blocked up. I went back to the doctor 2 days later (Wednesday), and he prescribed me steroids to get rid of the inflammation, and he gave me Avelox. He told me to start Avelox Saturday, if needed. Saturday came, and I seemed to be better. I didn't take it. Sunday came, and the ear pain came back. I took Avelox, and my ear infection feels like it's 80% healed! It's been about 29 hours since I took the first pill, and my ear feels amazing! NO side effects!"

For Bacterial Infection "I was sadly infected with an infection by my partner. It has been a nightmare failing both azithromycin and doxy. I am now on 10 days of moxifloxacin. By day 2, I already got a HUGE reduction in symptoms, but at a cost: I am experiencing aching in my joints and muscles, random twinges of pain in my ears, and it has exacerbated my preexisting tinnitus. My tinnitus hasn't bothered me this much in years. Understand if you take this, there is a good chance of developing tinnitus or worsening it if you already have it. I can only hope it quiets down after I finish treatment."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I hope people taking this have better luck than me. After the first dose, I felt funny, so I thought better eat with the 2nd dose. Well, I ended up in the ER, scared to death. Doc said my nerve endings were pulsating. Felt like a thousand plus bees in my chest area...never again!!!!!"

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I took one pill and had a severe allergic reaction to it in less than half an hour. It started with stomach pain, blood in the stool, rash, swelling, and shortness of breath. I had a seizure, my husband called the ambulance, and I ended up in the hospital. Scary experience, and I want to let everyone know how horrible this drug is."

For Prostatitis "I’m 36, have had an ongoing infection on and off for 1.5 years that didn’t respond to doxy or Bactrim anymore. Also, I was nervous to take Levo and panicked after days of taking it, and it was something completely different. The doctor gave me Bactrim for 5 more days, but it didn’t work. I looked up Avelox for resistant CBP, and it’s the most effective drug and treats bugs resistant to Levo and Cipro. I’ve been on it 8 days so far and have mild side effects. I felt better within days. I may need to be on it for a month, I also might need a second antibiotic to be safe, but I’m glad this is finally going away and will see my doctor soon!!"

Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "I had the H1N1 flu and then developed bronchitis. After 3 days of taking Avelox, I had hives all over my body. I stopped the medicine 5 days ago and still have hives. The bronchitis seems to be gone. I also experience pains in my muscles and weakness and tightness in my chest and palpitations. I don't think I will be taking this medicine again."

Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "A week after I had the H1N1 'swine' flu, I was having trouble breathing (bronchitis or pneumonia?), and the ER doctor prescribed 400 mg Avelox for six days. By the third day, I was breathing much clearer, and now at day five, it seems I can breathe deeper than I think I have in years. In fact, I think my lungs are a little sore from the good deep-breathing exercise! A great benefit has been that the Avelox has also been clearing up a chronic sinus infection that I've had for years (even after surgery) - the pressure headache is gone, and the post-nasal drip is barely noticeable now. I am not having any side effects that I can attribute directly to the medicine that I know of. So far, so good; thank you, Avelox!"

Moxifloxacin for Intraabdominal Infection "After 4 failed antibiotic regimens (and 6 doctors), I finally discovered mycoplasma hominis infection, which had now been in my kidneys for 8 weeks. I am a 55-year-old male and have high energy, but the extreme lethargy and fatigue kept me in bed a crazy amount of time - could do almost nothing! It was helpful reading other reviews here as I have never been so tired in my life! But the drug worked (it is one of the very few that are successful on this germ) - I took probiotics and was fortunate not to have diarrhea. Just remind yourself the drug is doing its job and try to suffer through the side effects!"

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "Had a double ear and sinus infection that didn't clear up with a round of antibiotics, went back to the walk-in and was prescribed Avelox. Scariest side effects EVER. After about 30 minutes, I felt a cold wave hit me in my stomach, I felt dizzy, lost feeling in most of the left side of my body, developed rashes and purple splotches all over my upper chest area, had trouble breathing, became hypertensive, and ended up with slurred speech and was in and out of consciousness until medical help arrived. Very scary. And that was just the first pill..."

Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "I was prescribed this medication for bronchitis, and it is hands down the most terrible medication I have ever taken. Within an hour of taking the first dose, I had nausea and vomiting so bad that I ended up in the emergency room, and even after receiving fluids and IV Phenergan, I was still dry heaving. Never again!"

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "Awful side effects! I was fatigued, trembling, and experienced shortness of breath and tachycardia. I even started feeling knee pain after the second day of treatment. I couldn't sleep for three days and just had a mild improvement in my sinuses."

For Pneumonia "Was put on moxifloxacin for bronchitis and pneumonia. Only on day 3 of the medication, however, I feel extremely disoriented and dizzy, with nausea that comes and goes. Feel that my lungs have cleared up a little so far, so it is effective."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "Yes, it works! However, the side effects are horrible. Light-headed and majorly dizzy, to the point where I was very uncomfortable driving. This is the 2nd time I've used it and the same results each time. Caused me to call out of work for a whole week until the side effects were gone."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "Have had 2 sinus surgeries in the past 5 years. This is the first sinus infection since my last surgery (2 months of sinus infection), and I just started Avelox yesterday. So far, not much of a side effect, have some nausea (but that sure beats another surgery). Good luck, all."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "The only problem I have with this medication so far is how expensive it is. So far, the only side effects I have had are a light-headed feeling, similar to a feeling of an antihistamine with pseudoephedrine in the mix. I am already starting to feel better."

Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "I am rarely ill, so have not taken a lot of medications; I also have a sensitivity to medications. I told this to the prescribing physician when seen for bronchitis. She prescribed Avelox, and by day 3, I had developed large red welts; went back to the doctor, who determined it was erythema nodosum. Avelox was overkill for someone like me - it was way too strong, and this was a horrible side effect."

Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "This is the third time I am prescribed Avelox. The first time for pneumonia and the last two times for bronchitis. This is by far one of the most potent antibiotics available. Doctors are very reluctant in prescribing this antibiotic because it is basically the last defense. Thus, doctors will tend to prescribe other, less potent antibiotics first, the reason being that bacteria will eventually adapt to any antibiotics. So it should only be prescribed when required."

Moxifloxacin for Bacterial Infection "I was diagnosed as having actinomycosis (lumpy jaw). First, I was put on amoxicillin and then changed to Avelox (now in week 2 of it). I will continue it for another month and a half, then I will be switched to another antibiotic for a while. The doctor is an infectious disease specialist and said that my condition takes a long time to cure. So far, no ill side effects. The lumpy jaw came about after mouth surgery to remove a cancer, and so far (almost 2 years), no more cancer! I also had radiation and chemo for the cancer. Keeping on keeping on!"

For Bacterial Infection "I’m on day 3. Feeling extremely anxious, multiple panic attacks, diarrhea, fatigue, lightheadedness, some back aches, fast heartbeat. I’ll continue with it as these symptoms seem to come and go alongside the anxiety. The problem is I have no way of contacting a doctor for the next few days, so I kind of just have to push through."

For Bacterial Infection "I seem to tolerate this moxifloxacin fluoroquinolone better than the others. Don't know why. Cipro gave me immediate joint/tendon pain in my left leg after one dose, and I felt like I was dying from three days on Levofloxacin, aka Levaquin."

Moxifloxacin for Bacterial Infection "Avelox rocks. I had a bacterial infection and did not realize it until I was in urgent care after 8 days of misery. I went in thinking I had a double ear infection but was diagnosed with a bacterial infection. I am allergic to Amoxicillin, so my doctor gave me Avelox. I don't like it at all because of its side effects, but it works. After one day on it, I felt like a million bucks. However, my skin itches a wee bit, I'm dizzy, feel anxious, and paranoid. I have almost every side effect. I made the mistake of taking it on an empty stomach and heading to my daughter's school to pick her up. Just be careful. Learn how your body reacts to it."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "After the second dose of Avelox, I broke out in hives. This is unfortunate, because I felt a world of difference (better) within 6 hours of taking the initial dose. Now that I've got hives, I am back to another antibiotic, and I don't know if it will work as well."
