Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "On day 3 of 7 being treated for pneumonia, sinusitis, and ear infection. PROS: I can breathe again. I feel like the pressure in my chest is lifting. My ear pain is almost completely gone. CONS: Extreme fatigue, severe body pain (hands, wrists, ankles, and knees), insomnia."

For Bacterial Infection "I'm a 20-year-old girl. I was diagnosed with mycoplasma genitalium. I didn't know how long I had it or where or who I received it from. I was so scared I found myself Googling the medication and symptoms every second. First, my doctor tried doxycycline 2 by mouth every day for 7 days, it didn't work. I was still positive. I started losing hope, but I went back to my doctor, and she prescribed me moxifloxacin 2 doses for 7 days, and my test came back negative!!! Moxifloxacin does the job, everyone's body is different. Doxycycline works for some people, others may need a stronger dose like me."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I suffer from sinus infections about every two months that lead into bronchitis within days of the first symptom. Usually I get the Z-Pack, but have been on Augmentin and Ceftin trying to find something that works better. This time the clinic doctor prescribed the Avelox, and I am on day 3 right now, my sinuses are draining, and the tightness in my chest is better. Unfortunately, I am getting horrible diarrhea now, which is not fun when you are coughing a lot."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "I am on day 5 of ten days at 400 mg for pneumonia/bronchitis/sinusitis. I am also taking codeine syrup as needed for cough and pain. Each day, I have noticed improvement in the infection in my sinuses and lungs, which means it is, so far, quite worth it for me. The side effects for me are drowsiness for about 4-5 hours after taking the pill, then some nervousness and jitteriness after the drowsiness wears off. No other side effects. So, for me, it has been a very effective medicine, without enough side effects to override the clear benefits. I have been avoiding dairy, taking vitamins. I've been eating foods such as oatmeal, apples, granola bars, chicken noodle soup, etc. Have had no stomach problems, nausea, etc."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I tried so many antibiotics for a sinus infection that lasted over 3 months. My doctor finally decided to prescribe Avelox because it is one of the stronger antibiotics (at least that is what she told me). Within 3 days, I honestly could feel relief. I was so happy to have finally found something that worked. About 1 1/2 years later, I had another sinus infection, and my doctor put me on Avelox right away. Again, within 2-3 days, there was so much relief. I never had any side effects that I knew of."

Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "I was prescribed this after a sinus infection turned into bronchitis. The take with food sign on the bottle should be in bold letters. I took the pill before my breakfast and threw up thirty minutes later. You need food in your stomach before the pill. This pill is the only pill that helps cure my horrible sinus infections. Eat first and you should be fine."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "I am allergic to penicillin, so the next course of meds for me is Biaxin for everything. I had pneumonia in Nov, and they gave me two bottles of antibiotics before I felt somewhat better. However, the cough kind of lingered on a little, but the breathing was the worst. Ended up at urgent care 3 times in March and, first time, asthma and they gave me inhalers even though I disagreed. 2nd trip, Singulair for sinuses and an inhaler, 3rd trip, two inhalers and Biaxin. Last trip, and at this point, beyond mad because I couldn't breathe. I couldn't go anywhere as I'd use my inhaler sometimes 10 times a day. Finally, she put me on a powder puffer and Avelox. I just finished the Avelox yesterday and haven't felt this good since last September. It's my miracle."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "I was diagnosed with pneumonia after a few days of taking amoxicillin because of being misdiagnosed with acute bronchitis. Before I started taking the Avelox, I had a fever of 103, a pretty bad headache, and was super tired and didn't want to do anything. My doctor told me the Avelox would make me even more tired. For the first 2 days it did, but my fever also broke and my headache went away. I also started coughing up more and more phlegm. By the 3rd day, I started feeling better but still had a cough and was just a bit tired. It seems I missed out on some of the side effects, but I did experience a bit of dizziness in the beginning and a loss of appetite. I'm on day 5 of my 8-day dosage. Going back to the doctor Thursday morning."

For Bacterial Infection "I took a 7-day cycle of moxifloxacin for an infection and had the worst side effects: extremely dizzy, agitated, tingling hands, tensed fingers, confused, severe panic attacks, depression, headaches, and just all around in a fog. I’ve been off the medication for a week, and I’m still experiencing these side effects. It’s horrible!"

Moxifloxacin for Bacterial Infection "My second time taking Avelox for pneumonia. The benefits outweigh the side effects. I had most of the side effects associated with this medication: feeling extremely weak and tired, anxious, fast heartbeat, nausea, vomiting, headache. However, it cleared up my pneumonia."

Moxifloxacin for Prostatitis "Started taking for prostatitis for 20 days. I went to the gym, which I was never told I shouldn't do, the next day, tendon damage in wrists, fingers, elbow, shoulder, and sternum. Been 6 days since the pain, and still no relief. Took 14 of the tablets and stopped. Hoping it goes soon, as unable to work due to being a tradesman. Taking everything very carefully, as do not want these issues with my leg, ankle, and feet tendons. Oh, and prostatitis not cleared up."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "Recurring sinus infections sent me to the doctor again after a Z-pack didn't work. Brought home the Avelox and was scared to take it after reading other people's reactions and problems. Have taken three pills now, and I am noticeably better. Sinus headache gone, and even my ears feel better too (reduced tinnitus). Previously took Levaquin years ago and had some anxiety, so I was expecting not to feel good with the Avelox. Only problem thus far is minor nausea, but I just take it with food and stay upright and busy as to not notice the wooziness. No serious reaction, and the nausea is tolerable, so I will continue to take it."

Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "It is one of the most powerful medications I have taken for an infection, but it works immediately-which rocks! Yet I wondered why I had trouble sleeping, felt anxious (almost to the point of an anxiety attack), and nauseated. Now I know it was a side effect. It's good, but be prepared for some of the side effects."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "My doctor gave me Avelox after Zithromax didn't work. I am on my 3rd day (out of 10), and I have been feeling better every day. I went online, and the reviews for this medicine can be very scary. I am happy to say that the only side effect I have experienced is slight insomnia, which is frustrating because I am EXHAUSTED at around 7:30 pm, but I wind up in my bed (awake) until about 12. Frustrating, yes, but the medicine seems to be working, so I can't complain too much."

Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "I love Avelox. Every winter, I am sick for months. I spend thousands of dollars on doctor visits, blood tests, chest x-rays. We go through rounds and rounds of antibiotics. I used to have great success with Augmentin, but it doesn't work anymore. Levaquin did the job one year, but hasn't been effective since. Last year, I combed the internet and found people like me that had success with Avelox. After one dose, I was feeling better (after being sick for 3 months). It completely knocked out the infection, and I was back on my feet the very next day. I've been sick for 3 weeks and took my first dose of Avelox yesterday. I am already feeling better. I am so thankful for this medication."

Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "I have COPD, so when I get bronchitis, it knocks me for a loop! Because we moved, we had to find a new doctor. Lo and behold, I get bronchitis. He prescribed Avelox, and to say it was a Godsend is an understatement. I personally haven't had any side effects, and on the second day, there was a distinct slowdown in my coughing. Now, I tell everyone who believes they have an URI or bronchitis to ask their doctor for Avelox. I just pray I never grow immune to it!"

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "Hope things work out for the best. Have taken this medicine in the past for a severe bout of pneumonia and bronchitis. It worked excellently! After just about the second day, lungs, breathing, cough, all were much better. That was about two years ago. Recently developed the same set of symptoms. Physician prescribed Avelox. Am hoping it works as well this time as last time. Side effects are common, but well worth it when this medicine works, it works great and fast at getting you well."

Moxifloxacin for Bacterial Infection "I will ALWAYS remember back in 1998 when I was prescribed Avelox 400 mg. After taking one dose, this left me lethargic and with a feeling of being in a catatonic state of mind! I literally felt overpowered by this antibiotic. When I discussed it with my doctor, he educated me NOT to take any medications related to Avelox, such as Levaquin! Why? They're in the same family of drugs! (Quinolones) Do your research so you are well aware of what you're taking!"

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I was prescribed Avelox for severe bronchitis, an ear infection, and a throat infection. I took the first pill and drank most of a 20 oz. bottle of water. Within 20 minutes, I fell asleep and napped for about 2 hrs. When I woke up, the throbbing pain in my ear was gone, and the swelling in my throat was significantly better! I couldn't believe it after one dose and only a 2-hr nap! This medicine worked wonders for me, and I had no side effects at all, that I know of. But then again, with bronchitis, a throat infection, and an ear infection all at once, I probably wouldn't have noticed if I did!"

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "Have had a sinus infection for two weeks with a round of azithromycin that didn't work. My doctor prescribed Avelox, and I was pretty scared after reading some of the side effects others have had. I'm on day 4, and my sinus infection is so much better, and the coughing from my bronchitis is almost gone. So much better! Only side effect is not being able to fall asleep."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "While the side effects given makes a nervous-making read, I've been lucky in having no noticeable side effects. On day 9 of 10. Had gone to ER, felt like I was drowning, could not breathe well, not enough oxygen. They put me on an inhaler to dilate bronchia, started me on Avelox, I got an Albuterol inhaler the next morning. Started feeling much better day 2. Had a bit of coughing now and then, clearing phlegm. Only concern is how they tell pneumonia is actually gone, apart from symptom relief."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "I am on a 14-day course of Avelox for pneumonia. Apparently, it was quite well spread over both lungs. The first course of antibiotics made no difference. Ended up in emergency, where they did a CT scan, and I was given 2 lots of antibiotics via a drip. Was sent home with Avelox, which has improved things greatly. The side effects are I am very tired, no appetite! This medication is well worth the side effects. A very frightening experience!"

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "I've been on a 7-day schedule of Avelox, it has worked pretty well to clear up the bacterial infection in my lung. However, I have experienced pretty bad diarrhea that started about 3 days into the schedule. The rest of the symptoms have been mild, such as nausea, feeling cloudy, etc. I am really looking forward to taking the last pill, this medicine's side effects are not too pleasant."

Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "I took this medicine while at work (Police/Fire Dept) because of bronchitis. I started out with a red rash that went up my arms, then started to itch, terrible stomach pains, passed out, and was placed in an ambulance. Once awake and being prepped with IV, I watched my body walk out of my body out the ambulance door. My body was literally shutting down, and I was dying on the way to the hospital. The doctors at the hospital told me that if I had been by myself, I would have surely died. This was a horrible experience, and since then my body has shut down to all medications, and if I am prescribed any kind of medications, I have to sit in the doctor's office waiting for another reaction. I had surgery in 2015 and had a team on standby."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "This is an amazing medicine. By day 2, I was feeling significantly well. Notwithstanding, the side effects of the medication for me personally are not comfortable: sore kidneys in the morning, stomach upset, intestinal discomfort, headaches, and muscle soreness. However, I realize that it's really important to finish my dosage (7-day supply), and I'm on day 4. This feels like a powerful antibiotic in my system, and I'm aware that it is effective against resistant gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial infections. 3 more days... yay."
