Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "This is very strong medication. I came from abroad with a bronchial infection and had to see my doctor. Cephalexin and Clarithromycin prescribed to me abroad by doctors apparently could not suppress the infection, and my doctor put me on Avelox on a 7-day course. I finished the course with great reluctance yesterday. It did relieve the symptoms to a great degree, but the side effects have been severe. I have severe loss of appetite, continue to be nauseous, lethargic, experience loss of energy, and became dizzy. I had extremely uncomfortable palpitations, tightness, and pain in the chest throughout the course and several sleepless nights. I have lost nearly 5 pounds over the seven days."

For Bacterial Infection "Worst medication. Ruined me. Had 8 days of antibiotics, moxifloxacin, for a chest infection. I started to feel dizzy, and had heart palpitations, pain, tingling in my legs and arm, headaches, felt lightheaded, and losing balance. I also found it hard to sleep, felt anxious and nervous, and paranoid. Some weird feelings. Been off the medication for 5 days and still feel side effects. Might even be for life. Hope not."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "On day 3 of 7 being treated for pneumonia, sinusitis, and ear infection. PROS: I can breathe again. I feel like the pressure in my chest is lifting. My ear pain is almost completely gone. CONS: Extreme fatigue, severe body pain (hands, wrists, ankles, and knees), insomnia."

Moxifloxacin for Bronchitis "It is one of the most powerful medications I have taken for an infection, but it works immediately-which rocks! Yet I wondered why I had trouble sleeping, felt anxious (almost to the point of an anxiety attack), and nauseated. Now I know it was a side effect. It's good, but be prepared for some of the side effects."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "My doctor gave me Avelox after Zithromax didn't work. I am on my 3rd day (out of 10), and I have been feeling better every day. I went online, and the reviews for this medicine can be very scary. I am happy to say that the only side effect I have experienced is slight insomnia, which is frustrating because I am EXHAUSTED at around 7:30 pm, but I wind up in my bed (awake) until about 12. Frustrating, yes, but the medicine seems to be working, so I can't complain too much."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "Have had a sinus infection for two weeks with a round of azithromycin that didn't work. My doctor prescribed Avelox, and I was pretty scared after reading some of the side effects others have had. I'm on day 4, and my sinus infection is so much better, and the coughing from my bronchitis is almost gone. So much better! Only side effect is not being able to fall asleep."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "Awful side effects! I was fatigued, trembling, and experienced shortness of breath and tachycardia. I even started feeling knee pain after the second day of treatment. I couldn't sleep for three days and just had a mild improvement in my sinuses."

For Bacterial Infection "Had a flu and then resulting bronchitis, laryngitis, and 2 ear infections. Was a total mess. Doc gave me these pills, and felt a little better the next day, and it's day 3 and improving lots. I did have some rapid heart rate (not too serious) and lack of sleep/appetite. Then again, that might be from the flu on the tail end. So happy I am feeling better."

For Sinusitis "My doctor prescribed me this medication because after a different round of antibiotics I still was not feeling better. I took 1 dose of this drug at 6 pm and within an hour my legs and arms were numb. I felt like I was having panic attacks with my heart racing, plus I was unable to sleep. It lasted for about 15 hours. During the morning after through about early afternoon, I was still feeling very anxious but completely exhausted from not sleeping, and I was in a complete fog. All I kept thinking to myself is when are these side effects going to end! I am not even thinking about taking the 2nd pill! Do not take this medication! The side effects are very dangerous!"

For Sinusitis "I’ve had chronic sinusitis for years. Surgery, allergy testing, all sorts of medications, sinus rinse, antibiotics in the sinus rinses, have tried everything. Antibiotics in the sinus rinse are greatly effective but gave me oral thrush. Levaquin caused tendinitis in my elbow, so I was very leery of this “cousin” quinolone drug. I was prescribed 14 days, but have only taken 4 doses so far. The good news is my sore ear, throat, and sinuses are much improved! The insomnia and fuzzy head are pretty unpleasant, but I’m so glad to feel better that I’m sticking with it. Trying to decide whether to take all 14 doses. I need to be able to go back to work in 3 more days. Praying I’ll be well enough to stop taking it by then."
