Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "Felt it start to open my lungs after the first dose. Oh, but how dizzy and nauseated I felt. Side effects wear down towards the end of the day (about 10 pm... I take the pill at about 9 am). Powerful medicine, QUICK results, pretty strong side effects."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I know everybody's body is different and reacts differently to medications, but after the second dose, I was tingly all over, had a headache, severe anxiety, muscle aches, weakness, tiredness, dry mouth, and impulsiveness. Just be careful!"

Moxifloxacin for Bacterial Infection "First of all, I'm so saddened by so many horrified stories on this blog. My heart goes out to you all. I am on day 9 with Avelox. My doctor prescribed other medicines for this bacterial infection and bad cough that I have had for three months now. The first 2 days were horrible for me on Avelox. I was throwing up all night, heart beating fast, severe itching. By day 3, I felt great and my side effects now are not as bad, minor itching now. But I must say this medicine does work for me. It also has cleared up my skin on my face and I had blisters on my hand, big ones that also have cleared up. So I'm going to do a refill on this and continue this medicine for another 10 days. Good luck to all that had a bad experience with this medicine."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "Amazing stuff. After 1 pill, I coughed up stuff that would scare Dr. House, but felt much better immediately. I will live with mild side effects considering that pneumonia can kill you or cause permanent damage. 3 doses left, and I continue to practice breathing deeply and slowly. I'm grateful for medicines like these."

Moxifloxacin for Bacterial Infection "I did get a bit dizzy, so I would take this at bedtime, and did at first get a faster heartbeat, but may have been because I read all the crazy side effects online. This medicine did work for me. Had an awful case of tonsillitis. Be sure to read the package and how other meds (even vitamins) you may be taking can alter the effects and increase chances of side effects."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I'm allergic to penicillin and Zithromax, so my doctor prescribed Avelox after I'd had a sinus infection for 3 weeks. (I try to avoid taking antibiotics since I'm allergic to the normal prescriptions.) I started to feel better after the first dose. My only complaint is that the pills were a lot more expensive than simple amoxicillin."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "I have the most horrible experience with all antibiotics. They make me feel worse than whatever I have! Was prescribed Avelox for my pneumonia, and within 24 hours, all symptoms had abated and lung function had returned to normal. Best of all, I experienced zero side effects! Have since had pneumonia a second time and was prescribed Avelox, and it was like 'Groundhog Day.' Powerful antibiotic, but works extremely well!"

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "Very powerful med. Doc prescribed for my sinus infection. Major dizziness within half an hour of taking the meds. It stays for about 5 hours. Congestion does clear up really fast. However, I took it at night for the first dose and could not sleep the whole night. The 2nd day till today (5th), I took them after lunch and rested. The dizziness is overpowering. I literally can't function, but I can sleep at night 2nd day onward, though it takes slightly longer than usual to doze off. Happy today is my last day, and I will probably never want to take this again if I can help it."

Moxifloxacin for Bacterial Infection "I get horrible side effects from literally every other antibiotic out there, except for Avelox. Of course, all medications affect people differently, but I have never felt any of the effects people list here, except for a little fatigue. This medication works very well."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "I took Avelox first at the hospital intravenously, and then pills afterwards for pneumonia. I think the side effects were worse than my pneumonia. I broke out in blisters on my lips, a rash on my chest, and horrific intestinal problems that would not resolve themselves without going back to the doctor. I also experienced nerve damage from this medication. Shortly after stopping the medication, I noticed the bottoms of my feet were killing me if I didn't wear shoes, and it only progressed. I definitely have suffered nerve damage from this medication, so please be aware of these side effects if you intend to take it. Speak to your doctor in detail. I wish they would have just given me Levaquin, which is the most common medication for pneumonia. I would never, ever, ever take this medication again. I now suffer extreme numbness in my feet, and I'm unable to walk without shoes on due to pain. From what I have read, I am not the only one. It can cause severe nerve and neurological problems. Check with your doctor."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "The medicine worked great to counter my sinusitis, and I was breathing better after just one dose. But the side effects are almost unbearable: nausea, dizziness, headache, lightheadedness, dry mouth, and constipation. The dizziness and lightheadedness kick in after about an hour of taking the pill and last for about 5 hours. Very difficult to function normally and trying to work while taking this medicine."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I was put on Avelox for a horrible sinus infection and chest congestion. My doctor never mentioned any of the possible side effects. Within an hour of taking the first dose, I became very tired, weak, and I had heart palpitations, and I had overwhelming anxiety. I am now on day 5, and the side effects have only progressed. The joint pain and muscle cramping, heart fluttering, fatigue, muscle weakness, nausea, blurred vision, loss of appetite, and tremors are enough to scare anyone. It has helped my congestion and sinus infection, but there are other antibiotics that are just as good and so much safer."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I suffer from sinusitis probably 3-4 times a year, and every time I go to my regular doctor, he would prescribe amoxicillin. I found this drug to take up to 2-3 days to begin its effect, but also had to deal with 3 tablets a day for 10 days. Recently, I contracted it, and amoxicillin failed to rid me of my sickness, so my doctor gave me Avelox. This is my third day on it, and almost all the symptoms have disappeared. Probably the only problem I've experienced with this is mild to moderate nausea when first ingesting the pill. This lasted anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Other than that, even on the first day, I could feel myself feeling better. Definitely will choose this route next time."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I suffer from COPD. When I get a respiratory infection of any kind, it is a big problem. When I take Avelox, the symptoms are gone before they get out of hand, 2 or 3 doses and I feel great again. Personally, I have not experienced any side effects. Have used the drug 3 times now."

Moxifloxacin for Bacterial Infection "I have taken moxifloxacin for 2 days so far - and no side effects! In fact, I finally feel normal and healthy again. I wanted to die of flu symptoms before I took Avelox. I took Amoxicillin for 8 days (prior to Avelox), which did nothing! I went to my doctor, desperate, and he prescribed me 5 days of Avelox. I have taken 2, no side effects, and finally, finally feel well again. I was sick for over 2 weeks, flu, severe body aches, severe sore throat/majorly swollen glands on the right side of my neck, severe earache on the right side, fever, headache - miserable! Avelox fixed me. Thank you, Doctor. Thank you, Avelox! Just educate yourself on precautions! There are many things you need to do (take in morning, don't take with certain medicines)."

Moxifloxacin for Bacterial Infection "The next day after taking it, I began to have twitching in my hands and fingers, dizzy, could not walk a straight line, and was extremely tired, sleeping 20 hours (I usually sleep 6 hours). After being taken off, after 3 days, most of my strength has returned, still a bit lightheaded. Apparently, these effects affect 2% who take the medicine."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "Although the drug's effects reduce symptoms rapidly (I felt better after the first day on it), I had extreme possible side effects (especially vomiting, long after the illness had passed) which seemed disproportionate to the benefits of taking the drug. This includes vomiting days after being on the drug."

For Bacterial Infection "I have been on this medication for 6 days due to my infection. Took azithromycin, didn’t work. Now this. I’m still experiencing pain from my infection and weird abdominal movements, emptying my bowels, constantly hungry, always scared this pill won't work for me. :( Just want this pain gone."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I have chronic sinusitis and have taken many different antibiotics, including cefazolin, erythromycin, azithromycin, Augmentin, and ampicillin. I have never felt the nearly immediate relief with any of these that I felt when I took Avelox."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I have used Avelox twice before, and took it at night as my doctor said there might be dizziness or sleepiness. Then I didn't need it for several years until this week. On my third dose, my sinus infection already feels like it has gone, but I can't fall asleep and my thoughts are racing - I would say agitated. I'm not sure if I can take this for seven more days."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "If you take SSRIs (antidepressants) for anxiety and/or depression, watch it while on this medicine. In addition to the dizziness, lightheadedness, and stomach problems, it might reduce the overall effectiveness of your SSRI."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "I am on my sixth day of Avelox 400 mg for pneumonia. I have noticed a big change in my breathing, and I do feel better. Still counting down to the last 4. Mostly because after I take it, I start feeling depressed, ill, tired, and still cannot eat or drink much. So I dehydrated to the point that I could not understand what people were saying. Nothing made any sense. That is better now, but still get confused, dizzy, lightheaded when I walk, depressed, and so on."

Moxifloxacin for Sinusitis "I was put on Avelox after Augmentin didn't work over a period of time, and my symptoms were worsening. I had relief within twenty-four hours. I have found that Biaxin XL works well too if it is prescribed immediately instead of wasting time with Augmentin or Ceftin. Avelox is a big gun, though, and should really only be used if other antibiotics fail."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "I had shortness of breath and chest pains on the right side, the doctor sent me for X-rays. I called the next day and was told I had pneumonia in the left lung. It's been 5 days now, and I slept throughout the night yesterday for the first time in a week, chest pains are still there but less intense. After 10 days on the medicine, I am going back for X-rays. So far, so good."

Moxifloxacin for Pneumonia "I have chronic inflammation of my lungs and get bronchitis easily. I recently had the worst episode.... I took 17 days of Avelox. I am finally feeling human again. I don't like the side effects too much, but mitigate them by taking potassium (orange in the a.m. and banana in p.m., sometimes a 99 mg supplement). I also eat yogurt with extra acidophilus in the evening and take calcium/magnesium/Vitamin D before bedtime to prevent cramping. That along with potassium prevents cramping."
