For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have some symptoms that I have had before when I had a yeast infection, so I looked online for Clotrimazole vaginal cream (since I always use it), and this product came up in the search results! So I thought they should be the same thing with different names! (Which usually happens in medicines from different companies.) So I went to the store and bought it. I used it for two nights, and I still have one more to go. BUT apparently I am allergic to it!!! The symptoms have not changed at all and even got worse. I am still very uncomfortable, having a very irritated, red, and itchy vulva and labia! I am going to stop using it. Why should this happen?! This should be changed! People can get really hurt!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I bought the MICONAZOLE 3 generic brand. Now I have a burning, itching, and prickly sensation inside and out. I let it sit for 25 minutes and wiped it off. I never have experienced this sensation. It's awful, like 5 times worse than the irritation that made me need to buy this medicine. It's 12:47 am..."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ladies, if it wasn’t for these funny and relatable reviews, I would not have been able to finish my third/last day of treatment. I decided to take Monistat after my doctor told me that it would be the most effective way to treat YI during pregnancy, however, I had no idea that it would send me and my vagina on a trip to the inferno! What’s worse is expecting it to not hurt at all and then getting hit almost immediately with the most intense amount of burning and irritation. I thought I didn’t have words to describe it until I stumbled upon these reviews. After laying in bed curled into a ball waiting for the pain to subside (which it didn’t for about half an hour), I started to look up reviews, and boy, I got so much comfort in reading others' similar experiences. Save yourself the $17, use Vagisal wipes if you can, and stay away from this product! Yes, it is effective in treating YI, but prepare yourself for the world of hurt it’s going to cause to your vagina."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I really wish I would have read these comments first. I thought I was going crazy for like 10 minutes thinking, damn, I thought I had just a little infection ... 2 minutes after applying this bad boy, I thought, oh Lord, what did I just do! The more I tried wiping it off, the more I wanted to cry and scream. Ladies who can handle this, God bless your soul and your vagina."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Let me just say that I haven’t had an issue with Monistat 3 day until this hellish experience. I developed a yeast infection after one day on Bactrim, of course. I must have irritated my skin from itching, but they were tolerable before the Monistat. Used the Monistat a day ago and oh my. The itching kept me up ALL NIGHT. The cuts have gotten worse from the irritation from the product. And the kicker? Random discharge bleeding. I feel so awful having to go to work, and I’m now hoping the Diflucan I took the same day as using the Monistat clears this up, because I can’t use that liquid fire again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "The worst burning feeling ever. I almost cried last night. I bought the 1-day combo (Ovule + Cream), and as soon as the cream started running inside my vagina, the burning feeling was growing and growing until I couldn't take it anymore. I cleaned up the cream and took a shower, but still, the pain didn't go away. Today I'm still feeling this burning, that area is swelling and irritated. I would not recommend this to anyone, not even to an enemy."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "OK, so this is my second time catching a YI. I went and purchased the Monistat 7 day pack this round. I tried the Monistat 3 day pack my first time, and it didn’t work for me, so I am now trying the 7 day. Initially, while lying down and inserting the cream and then applying the external cream, the burning, itching, and discomfort began immediately to the point where I was scrambling a little. But you guys have to realize that the burning sensation, etc., is the cream actually doing its work and curing the infection. I can only speak for myself, but the itchy irritation and burning sensation only lasted about a good maybe 30 minutes to an hour. The next morning, I was feeling very relieved and a bit swollen a little. For me, it wasn’t as bad as some of the other comments I’m reading. I will continue moving forward to complete the full 7 days as instructed."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I usually use Canesten, which is clotrimazole, but for some reason bought the miconazole nitrate this time. I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital to get them to get the cream out of me. It burned and itched so badly I've never felt anything so horrible in my life, and I've given birth 3 times. I ended up running a bath and trying to wash it out of me. I thought I was going to throw up. This is a horrible, horrible product. I read that using tampons will decrease the effectiveness of the medication because they absorb it, so I currently have a tampon in to try to help. I also took a Benadryl for the swelling and irritation from the external cream."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took Monistat 7 last night, and it was okay. But this morning, I woke up, and it was burning, it was causing me a lot of discomfort. I took a shower with cool water to try to rinse out the rest of the medication, but it did not work. Since I am still burning, I'm going to stop using the medication and visit my doctor because it's not getting better. I'm extremely upset because I took an over-the-counter test before treatment, and the stick remained yellow, so it said if it's yellow, that means you have a yeast infection. But when I took the medication Monistat 7, I started burning and having lots of irritation. Prior to taking this medication, I did not have any burning or itching, just a slight irritation and discharge. Will never use again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've used this brand (or this type) about two years ago, but I don't remember it being like this. I have never experienced such intense itching in my life. Literally, I feel like my insides are itching :( I'm not sure if that means it's working or…? Well, I decided it was too much for me and was causing more damage than good, so I went ahead and pushed it out ;( and now it's burning! So I'm gonna have to sleep with a cold, wet rag for comfort, but even the rag isn't helping the burning and irritation from the medicine. I don't think I'm going to use this again. I wouldn't refer this to anyone. It's painful and too uncomfortable!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I experienced extreme burning for the first 3 nights using this medication. I had to discontinue medication due to the unbearable burning and irritation. My skin became more inflamed while taking this cream. I read reviews, and while most of them said there would be some burning or irritation, this pain I was experiencing was too much. I couldn’t sleep on the nights I used this medication, and on the last day I decided to use it, it burned so much that I had to scrape it out. This product is NOT for everyone."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I bought the 3-day treatment, and a few minutes after inserting it, it was burning and itching much worse than the actual infection. I did it last night before going to bed, and it was still itchy and irritated this morning. However, the itch and pain did subside around lunchtime, so I will do the second treatment tonight. The anti-itch cream that came with it didn't work at all for me."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ooweee!!! I have NEVER experienced burning like this in my life!! Called my doc today, explained my symptoms, and she recommended Monistat 7 because 1 and 3 were very strong. The pain I experienced after the first five minutes of the application was worse than the whole week of irritation I experienced without it. The directions said that mild irritation may occur after usage, so I tried to wait it out. It became unbearable!! I flushed my girl with water, washed with a glycerin bar of soap, and even packed with ice in a washcloth for about an hour before the burning subsided. The itching cream that you apply on the outside seemed to provide relief, but the insert application is agonizing! Will not continue!!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I used another generic brand from Rite Aid before, and it worked-no burning. But today, I wanted to be a little more fancy since I was feeling like crap anyway. I used Monistat 3 today. Used the cream earlier, and I will say it stings a bit. I don't know if it's because I was already irritated or if it was the cream, but it stung like hell. After about 10 minutes, it wore off. I was even more irritated and uncomfortable. I used the suppository about half an hour ago. A little sign of relief. Not as much itching. I think it's better to take the suppository at night just so the medicine can stay inside the vagina longer, and I believe I'll get better results when I use it at night before I fall asleep."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is my third night using the Monistat 3 treatment, and honestly, I would rather have pills. The first night I used it, I had intense burning and irritation to where I felt like scratching to get relief. The second night I used it, I still had some irritation and burning, but nothing compared to night one. So I thought night 3 would be even better, boy, was I wrong. It feels just like the first night. I'm really hoping this stuff works."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Inserted the suppository, no issues so far. Purchased for irritation, mild itching, and discharge. Used the external cream, and it felt as though someone opened a tube of fire ants and rubbed them all over my lady parts. It happens every time I try. First time trying in 4 years. I’m convinced there is something in the external cream I’m allergic to that’s not in the internal cream/suppository."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’m currently battling my 3rd YI. It was mild, but I wanted to treat it before it got worse and out of control. My first time trying Monistat 7, and now I have so much irritation and itch. I’m on my 3rd day, and I thought that each night the itchiness would subdue and be tolerable, but it’s not. One hour after application, it’s slowly calming down but not entirely. So irritable that it makes me want to cry because I can’t do anything about it. I feel horrible that I literally spent money to be uncomfortable. I would definitely recommend a different product, even if it’s generic. DO NOT BUY MONISTAT 7!!! Beware!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I don't think it's just the 'Monistat' brand but the active ingredients because I purchased the store brand and my crotch is on fire! I've used Monistat and the knock-off versions in the past, and I've NEVER had an issue. This time, the second I put the cream on, the burning and itching got 10x worse. So I got online (5 hours later and still burning) to see if anyone else had the same experience. Apparently, I'm not alone. Update: Two days later, and I'm still on fire! But I figured out if you use a tampon to keep the cream from leaking out and causing additional irritation, it helps. And I also got Dermoplast spray to numb it down there. Caution...it will burn like heck for a few seconds, but then goes away. I was actually able to sleep through the night."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "That too for me, and I thought it was just me experiencing the irritation after I inserted the application into my vagina. This pain is nothing I want to go through again. I've had yeast infections in the past, and the treatment was nothing like this. I hope it works because it sure feels like it's doing something down there."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Omg! I literally was in so much pain, burning and itching, that I had to call out of work. Two days later, the pain eased up a lot, but I still had slight irritation. Went to the gyno. She said I had an allergic reaction to the medicine. Now I'm on a 7-day pill to clear up everything. Terrible. If you have a yeast infection, just cure it with a pill or a couple of home remedies."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had just applied it, and immediately right after I feel the burn. I felt that the medicine should have a calming effect rather than a burning sensation to the point that it irritates your mind and the feeling of uncomfortable with slight nausea. I bought the 7-day Monistat for my YI. Let's see if tomorrow works better. I had tried other cream-insert brands like Canesten Cream, I felt relief right after use. Hence, Monistat needs to relook into the medications provided in the cream. Because I had bought two boxes, and I regretted getting two boxes (one for spare)."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Bought miconazole 3 tonight. Used one applicator, and the burning sent me to search the internet for answers beyond what the paper insert in the box could provide. The burning is not severe, but it is just as irritating as the actual YI. I hope it (the burning) eases up because I doubt I'll do doses 2-3 if it doesn't."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "DO NOT BUY. At first, there was absolutely no burning or itching. About two hours later, I was running to the bathroom to try to rinse it out! It is now 2:53 am and I have an ice pack between my legs. LITERALLY BURNING! I can’t keep still because it’s so irritating! My vagina is all red and swollen and I can’t sleep. For Vaginal Yeast Infection "“Mild increase in vaginal burning” my ass, there isn’t anything mild about this flaming inferno happening inside my vagina right now. I have used the 7 before and had slight irritation, but nothing like this. My first time using the Monistat 3 and definitely my last. I feel like I inserted hot lava into my womanhood. Why is this product still allowed to be on the market? STAY AWAY from this torturing product disguised as medicine! Pretty positive my innards have 3rd degree chemical burns."
