Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've felt some slight itchiness, external pain, and irritation for a couple of days. I've resisted scratching it. I just had a course of amoxicillin, and that got rid of healthy vaginal bacteria, which can cause yeast infections. I took my first applicator of 3-day Monistat last night and had no issues inserting it. I laid down immediately and could definitely feel something going on down there, but no pain; it was just like an intense tingling. I fell asleep for a couple of hours and woke up (due to my insomnia). It has now been almost 6 hours, and it's still tingling, but actually feels refreshing. I combed the internet obsessively right before I took it, and an overwhelming number of women reported horribly unbearable burning. I seem to be the only one who actually likes the feeling. It feels tingly and cool. Maybe my infection is not as bad as everyone else's. I know people are more inclined to write a review if they have a bad experience, so maybe that's why there are so few positive reviews."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So today I bought the 7-day Monistat. I inserted the cream about an hour ago, and it does not feel too bad. The first couple of minutes were irritating, but after a while, the burning subsided. It's just like you putting alcohol in a cut, and it burning for a few minutes, then it goes away. This is only day 1 for me, and I feel the burning going away already. I will do a follow-up tomorrow for my day 2."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm on day 3 of the 7-day treatment. I'm a college student, so I went to the store and purchased this product after my yeast infection had been irritating me to the point I wanted to scratch in public. I wanted immediate relief, so I didn't wait until the nighttime to insert. I immediately started to itch something freaking horrible, I was sawing at my vagina through my pants. But I thought this was the infection. I did the next two treatments at night, and I've come to realize that it's the freaking product making me itch so bad. I can't sleep for trying to tighten my Kegel muscles to get some relief. I also tried to push it out - I'm so irritated. I will not do the next 4 treatments."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Wow. If I could go back and redo anything in my life, I would read the reviews on this product before trying it. Thought it was kind of gross to shove a huge tube of cream up my vag before bed. Had no idea what it would become. Woke up a few hours later to crazy, miserable itching, irritation, and swelling. My lady bits are so swollen and tender, it hurts to wipe. Not sure if this means the stuff is working??? But seriously, don't use Monistat 7 & go to the doctor. This stuff is miserable."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Had minor irritation and suspected a Y/I. Got this product and put it in, almost immediately, I felt the burn. It's like putting rubbing alcohol on your bits, then shaving the inside of your vagina. I couldn't even pull up my pants. I went to bed and lasted like 10 minutes before I had to run to the bath and wash it all off and try to get it out."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was actually prescribed the pill to get rid of my YI. Unfortunately, I was still feeling a bit uncomfortable a couple days after, so I decided to buy the generic version of Monistat 1 to get rid of it once and for all. BIGGEST REGRET OF MY LIFE. I SHOULD HAVE READ THESE REVIEWS BECAUSE THE BURNING AND ITCHING I EXPERIENCED WAS LIKE NO OTHER. I used it before bed, and I couldn't even fall asleep because the itching and irritation was so bad. I finally got up and tried to wash it out of me because it had leaked out and was covering my entire genital area and causing it to burn SO BAD. It's better now, but still uncomfortable. I'm going to use an ice pack to ease the pain, but omg. NEVER AGAIN. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I really wish I would have read these reviews before I tried this awful product, which was probably formulated and approved by men. I had a mild infection, just slight itching and irritation, so I figured I’d try Monistat 1 first before making a big deal out of it and to avoid racking up medical bills... Boy, was that the wrong decision. I inserted what I now assume to be the awful lava egg into my vagina at 11:30 pm. I fell into a deep sleep shortly after, only to wake up out of my slumber at 3:33 am in excruciating pain. The itchiness, irritation, and burning were now 1,000 times worse! I thought this stuff was supposed to help, not torture me! It felt like Lucifer himself unlocked the fiery gates of hell inside me. And there was nothing I could do to soothe it. I didn’t sleep at all, and I’ve been using ice packs and cold washcloths, but it barely helps. It’s now 9 am, and I’m not sure I can go to work today."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "It burns...welcome to the wonderful world of being a female. The leakage of the ovule/cream irritates the outside of your vagina. The tough pregnant woman said it above...put a very small amount of Vaseline or bag balm on the outside to protect your skin from the irritation and burning. To the person who 'dug it out'...you realize that made it worse, right?"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Let me share. A few days ago I noticed slight irritation at the top of my vaginal opening. I didn't think too much of it as I had changed my cleaning habits and was sure I washed way too hard and too much. The next day it was itching. No discharge, no odor, but itching. I got some anti-itch cream and hoped for the best. Today comes, and it's not better, but now I have discharge, and that's when I knew. It was a yeast infection. Oh goody. I was already very depressed, and this just added to my sadness. Anywho, I went and grabbed Monistat 3. I've read all the reviews, and I was nervous, but hey, I figured no pain, no gain. I am currently lying in bed. It's been 8 minutes since insertion. I feel a tingle, but I also used the cortisone. No pain yet."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm 19, and I have no idea what is going on with my body. Just last week, I had strep, and now this. The antibiotics I was put on made my 'flower' burn and itch. I thought I could handle it if I gently wiped and washed, but it didn't go away. I bought Vagisil cream to help the irritation, it helped some but yet burned. I was then sure it was something more. I bought the Monistat 7 today, and I used the first application, and boy, do I regret it! At first, it felt fine, and like 5 seconds later, I had a horrible itchy sensation, and it began to burn. I felt myself cringe and my legs together, and it was unbearable! I jumped in the shower and washed it out and all off of my area. I'm now laying in bed with an ice pack on it. Good lord!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "So yes, the first use was an experience. I had been so raw from constant itching that seemed to get worse within a few hours. I applied the cream to my lady parts, and talk about wanting to take a cheese grater to your down under itchy fire parts. I had to take some Benadryl to help the itching. The vaginal insert of the cream wasn't bad until it melts... and then it gets itchy inside your lady cave, so to speak. After the first hour, it seemed to calm down a lot! I shouldn't have waited so long to have done something about it. I never had any thick discharge, so I thought it was just a little irritated. I had never had a yeast infection, and lord knows I don't ever want to go through this again. But the product overall works."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "After reading the reviews for this product on here, I was terrified! All the ladies who said it burned them so bad and to never use it made me hesitate a few days because my infection was mild. However, it got worse, so I decided to suck it up and use it! I was lying down after applying it, and I was shocked that I felt no burning or anything! It actually felt good, and the irritation immediately subsided! I'm on my 3rd day, and I feel excellent! I still have a slight redness, but it has gotten better!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is my first time trying Monistat, and honestly, I should’ve just stuck a piece of hot coal up my vagina. Never have I ever felt such burning like this in my life. It’s been like 30 minutes, and now it’s kind of numb, but the burning, irritation, and throbbing were insane. It gets better eventually, ladies. Stay strong! Praying for comfort for all of you."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used Monistat 7 as well as their vulvar cream. While I didn’t have the intense, fire burning with application, at the end of the treatment my vulva and vagina are still very irritated and I am very, very dry. I went to urgent care and tested negative for BV and yeast, so while the infection is gone, the medication left that area a mess. I have found things that have helped: I stopped using toilet paper after peeing and am just rinsing with water and patting dry with a towel, and that has made the biggest difference. I also rinse off after sweating because the sweat burns. Hydrocortisone ointment (not cream because it’s drying, and make sure the only ingredient it had is petrolatum—some have alcohol, which will burn) once or twice a day has helped. A thin layer of olive oil has helped the discomfort caused by any rubbing from walking, sitting, or clothing. I will never use this medication again. Next time, I’ll go straight to urgent care and ask for Diflucan."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is NOT right, ladies! It's been at least 3 years since I had a yeast infection. I was prone to at least a couple of yeast infections every one to two years, and I always used Monistat 3 or 7. This time I bought the same stuff I had always used, and for the FIRST time I experienced the burning, itching, and irritation that everyone else is experiencing. I had never felt this before, and I am calling them first thing in the morning. There has to be something wrong. It should not feel this bad."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm 8 1/2 months pregnant, and even though I've used this exact medicine earlier in my pregnancy (7 day), I don't remember feeling like my vagina was on fire and way more itchy than the yeast itself. I know this is common, that it will burn before it gets better. But I was in pain, crying, dancing-holding my crotch after I peed and some of it came out. I had to wipe away what I could and apply a wet washcloth. I've honestly never had this experience with miconazole 7. The pain is gone now, and I know it's a typical reaction. I'm just surprised it hurt this much this time. I'm lying here straddling the wet washcloth, focusing on knowing it's an effective medicine, and the box states that you will experience burning and irritation."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I suffer from chronic yeast infections, and my doctor prescribed me terconazole, and it works wonderfully. Since I am pregnant, my midwife doesn't recommend it because it's a higher dose, so she said to try Monistat 7. Worst pain ever. I never once had any irritation from my other cream, and I was seriously balled up on my bed waiting for the pain to stop. I ended up trying to get it out and took a bath to soothe the pain. A yeast infection has never hurt this bad!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Oh wow. I got Monistat 3, hoping to clear up the infection over the weekend. At first, I thought insertion had irritated my already irritated skin. Then I started to get scared. I looked up symptoms to see if I should go to minor emergency, and here I am. To the person who said, don’t be a hero, wash it out and get Monistat 7 tomorrow-thank you. A bath helped a little, but I have to suffer since I got the cream. I have used Monistat 7 and don’t remember this. Bad reviews here are overwhelmingly for 1- and 3-day treatments. Someone said this can mean your infection is bacterial, but I think most of us recognize a yeast infection. I’m 40 and have had 3 or 4. UTIs have different symptoms. I’m certain that I have a yeast infection, and I feel like I just stuffed my vagina full of peppers."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have your standard vaginal yeast infection. I went to Walgreens to purchase an over-the-counter cream and saw this combo box was on sale. Save yourself the misery, gals, and don't buy this product. I have never felt such misery. I feel like I just inserted a nest of red ants in lady town. I've been on fire for well over an hour and have taken a cold washcloth to wipe off as much as I could. How long shall this misery last? I'm taking the box and receipt back tomorrow for this junk. We're already miserable from an infection, and this just makes it a million times worse. Don't do it... just don't."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I had a YI and had my mom buy me miconazole. The directions say to insert it at night, so I showered and then proceeded to use the medicine. No later than a minute, I felt like I had fire ants all over my vag. I jumped back in the shower and got it out, but I’m laying in bed an hour later with what feels like Vick’s rub all over my vag."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "First time having a yeast infection at 29. I was recommended Monistat. I didn't have any issues when it was first inserted. The next morning when it started to leak out was awful. I was miserable, the itching was unbearable. It took hours to subside. I did the insert the second night, again, no issues when first inserted. Irritation came after it fell out in the am. It didn't last as long on the second day. I decided to finish treatment. Slight irritation after inserted. Now it's 2:30 am, and I was woken up with intense itching and burning. I have to be up at 5 for work. Currently laying with an ice pack, hoping to get some relief and sleep."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have recurring yeast infections and couldn’t get to the doctor until next week. I decided to try the name brand, which was the worst mistake of my life. Day one I used the suppository and cleaned as directed and had so minimal burning, but my skin was very irritated and sore. Assuming it was doing what it was supposed to, I decided to just use the cream on my vulva. Wrong! I looked in the mirror and saw frightening red bumps like pimples on my vulva. I have health anxiety and automatically went to Google and self-diagnosed. The burning was unbearable! I rinsed my vulva multiple times and took Benadryl and Tylenol to reduce the swelling, redness, and itching/discomfort. I had a little bit of my prescription cream left and applied it. This morning I woke up around 4 a.m. with a slight burning sensation and I grabbed my mirror and flashlight. The bumps were gone but still had redness and a swollen vulva. I’ll never use this product again. Seeing those bumps scared the living poop out of me."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm at work writing this. This morning I felt kind of irritated and worried I was developing a yeast infection. So during my lunch break, I bought a 1-day miconazole capsule. I didn't want to develop a full-blown yeast infection. Oh, how I wish I had read the reviews before unleashing this abomination onto tender parts! I put the capsule in, used some of the cream it came with, washed up, and as I walked back to my office, I almost fell over in pain. It felt like someone had stuffed a lit Molotov cocktail in my vagina. I thought maybe it was a severe allergic reaction. Three hours later, and I'm still trapped at work in pain, praying I can get home because I can barely walk. This is not medication, this is chemical warfare on lady parts. The mild irritation I felt before using this product is nothing compared to the pain of its use. The only thing I can liken it to is one time a bleach product splashed in my eye, and I had to be treated for a chemical burn to my eyeball. So yeah, it's like that."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I picked up the Equate 3 Day on a Thursday as I had beginning signs of a yeast infection: itching, irritation, slight white discharge. First night, Thurs., took at bedtime. Next morning, Fri., woke up and felt more irritated than before, slightly clumpy-maybe medicine with the discharge? Showered, used external cream, and felt somewhat better, but by the end of the day felt itchy/irritated again. Showered, inserted medicine, and went to bed. Again, awoke with the same level of irritation, itchiness (Sat.) as the previous morning...maybe everything clearing out? Showered and used external cream again morning and afternoon. Showered, took the last dose, and off to bed. Sun. morning better with some irritation/itchiness, but better as the day continued and continued to be symptom-free."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "The first time I used this, it was the regular suppository. Burned like lava. I thought I was dying... But it worked! Currently on day 2 of the 3-day, but it's the pre-filled inserts, and the burn is far less painful. It really is only irritating on the inside - like burning pain. I hope these pre-filled work as well as the other ones did because I would hate to have to use those again... Too painful."
