For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Oh my God… as I’m writing this, my poor boyfriend is in bed next to me, stroking my thigh as I writhe in pain from this God awful “treatment.” What the heck is in this stuff? Pesticides? Poison ivy? Lava? It feels like a group of fire ants just made themselves comfortable inside me. I just had a minor yeast infection and thought this would take care of the itching before it got worse. Boy, howdy, was I wrong! This is some of the worst pain I’ve felt in a while. I even got the weak 7-day cream since I figured the 1-day treatment might completely destroy my insides. I honestly didn’t think the milder treatment would cause this much distress… whatever you do, don’t buy this. Save yourself. Save your hooha."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Like other reviewers have noticed, someone must have changed the formula! I haven't had a YI in over a decade and used Monistat-1 when I did. The only pain I remember from that experience was me clawing at my hoo-haw until it was raw because it itched so bad. Fast forward like 15 years, I got a mild YI and grabbed old faithful at the store. Holy Monistat, Batman! I thought I must have misdiagnosed myself and that I was, in fact, infected with some rare vag disease that didn't take kindly to meds. Glad to know it was actually the meds and not my lady bits shriveling up and dying. If that wasn't bad enough, I thought I was pretty much cured (close to 3 days in) and got the urge for hanky-panky... now I think I just signed up for needing another dose of hellfire. Don't do what I did! Wait at least 5 days to be safe, and even then, reconsider using this ever again!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "On the 14th, I used Monistat for 1 day and the external itch cream. The next day, what was a minor itch had turned into a full-blown fire from hell burning down there. Later that evening, I could barely pee because of the pain from the pee hitting my lips, so my boyfriend took me to urgent care. The doctor told me to stop Monistat and gave me Diflucan. I showed my mom (who was an ICU nurse), and she said it looked like 3rd-degree burns. I came online to read that other people also have chemical/3rd-degree burns from this crap. I have had to lay on a towel the last few days to let her air out and dry as she simultaneously drips blood from the burns. Yesterday, the 18th, the outer lips were finally beginning to scab up. I accidentally sat down on the toilet lid, thinking it was just the toilet seat, and the pain from it touching my hoo-haw made me jump up, and the scabs ripped off, and I’m back to bleeding and excruciating pain. I will NEVER use Monistat again. How is this even legal?"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Holy moly... I needed to read this an hour ago. I am a woman with a naturally larger labia... but now it is monstrous. I mean you could create a whole sci-fi alien creature out of what is overflowing my panty line. I am sitting on the couch breathing and concentrating like I am in labor. I don't know what to do about the pain and itching. I am terrified to stand up because, God forbid, what is in me starts flowing out of me. Monistat 1 was my choice for a hormonal yeast infection. Stupid pre-menopause."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I bought Monistat 3, and just like everyone else on here, I am on fire. The first night, I was on the bathroom floor crying and scratching, it was the worst pain I've ever been in. The next day, my symptoms were nearly all gone, so I figured the medication was working. I used the second dose, and I regretted it so badly. UPDATE!!! I'm now on day 3. I noticed that on the previous days, the burning was only on the external vagina, so I put Vaseline all over the area before inserting the cream so it doesn't touch my skin. So far, this is working, and I don't feel anything."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I can’t come close to the accurate descriptions captured in these reviews. I do wish I would have read these before wasting my money on this masochistic product! I, too, used to use it frequently during my childbearing years, and it wasn’t all that pleasant then (30 years ago). But geez Louise, this old gal about came out of her skin when that Monistat 3 suppository hit my fragile lady parts! Thanks to whomever mentioned coconut oil - I might be able to sleep tonight. Seeing my gyn as fast as I can. This is ridiculous!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I thought this would clear up a yeast infection I’ve had, but man, was I wrong. I used the one day, and 30 minutes later, I’m howling in pain. It felt like somebody dumped thumbtacks into my vagina. Do yourself a favor and never buy this. I contemplated going to the emergency room until I came here and saw everybody else’s reviews. I’m currently sitting here with my cooch in the air and an ice pack on it."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This stuff is going to be my supervillain origin story. I would rather lie awake at night, physically cringing through high-def replays of my most humiliating moments than to take this “medicine” one more time. I got played like a chump for paying someone to allow me the chance to inject myself with this lava. I have NEVER experienced more pain and discomfort in my life, and I used to wear jelly sandals. It’s giving hornet stings. It’s giving road rash. It’s giving Jim Carrey eating dynamite in The Mask and playfully calling it a “spicy meatball.”"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have a feeling the only people who read these are going through it right now. I used this product 2 hours ago, and I’m in the worst pain I’ve ever been in in my entire life. Feels like someone just dumped salt on an open wound. If this doesn’t make my YI go away by morning, I’m going to be very unhappy."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have relied on Monistat products for decades with no problems. However, I recently had a YI after taking antibiotics for a sinus infection (the 7-day product), and I could not get through more than 3 days of it. My vulva swelled up, everything felt like it was on fire, urinating was excruciating even. Even sitting was painful. I ended up having to go to my GYN, who did a culture and said a slight yeast infection remained, which was understandable since I didn’t finish all 7 days. But she also found that I was swollen and inflamed still from the Monistat, and now I have to apply a topical steroid cream to the area twice a day to get that cured. I’m 4 days in, and no relief yet. I don’t know if Monistat changed their formulation or my body has just decided that I can no longer tolerate Monistat, but I will never use this product again. I will go to my doctor and get Diflucan instead."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used a little bit externally, and it took the itching away immediately. However, the second I inserted the rest later tonight in my vagina, it was like someone put icy hot up my hooha. It is awful. Never again. It burns, hurts, and itches."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "How is this even on the market still? DO NOT USE!!!! Call your gyno now and have them prescribe you something. It literally felt like someone stuck a hot curling iron into my bag and kicked my kidneys. Do not use. Never ever, ever use. I hope whoever is reading this finds these reviews BEFORE inserting this fire into your vagina."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Currently squatting over a towel trying to birth this cream out of me, highly do NOT recommend. This pain is disturbing. Contemplating the ER, but it seems like everyone else is experiencing the same thing, so I guess I’ll ride it out. Seems like nothing but time brings relief. I would never take this for a YI ever again the rest of my life."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Wow. It’s currently 2:12 AM, and I’m wide awake because my vagina feels so bad. I inserted the medicine (Monistat 1) around 10:30, and five minutes later it felt like someone put fire on the inside and outside of my vagina. NEVER HAVE I EVER FELT PAIN LIKE THIS. I currently am using an ice pack to numb everything down there..."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Just used this product prior to reading reviews. Let me just say I am in pain. I used the ovule first with no reactions, no tingling or anything. Then I used the seven-day cream because I was trying to get the process to go quicker. Initially, I had burning everywhere, nothing inside, just mainly the outside. I had to clean it off quickly, it was that painful. Suggestion to girls: don’t rub at all! Wet cloth and slowly take it off. I was fine after 45 minutes and took a shower. The ovule then dissolved, still didn’t feel a reaction till it hit outside... again, same burning feeling only I couldn’t take it out. Highly recommend, like other girls, keep a cold washcloth on it, don’t rub, keep ice (the inflammation is worse than the yeast infection) and pray that it’s going to come out faster."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I put in the horse pill before going to sleep and woke up to what I was certain was a fire in my bed. But it was dark. Where is the searing hot heat coming from if there are no flames or lasers? Oh, it's the melted white goop that is apparently made of pure acid. How on earth could a burn this debilitating be good in the long run? I showered to try to soothe my hooha and took some strong painkillers to try to do something, anything to soothe the pain. Eventually, I fell back asleep. The next morning, I still have a yeast infection. But now it is yeast infection + lingering pain + I'm pretty sure my vagina has melted off and now I am just a Ken doll down there. Please just take Diflucan."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used Monistat years ago and had no problems, so I bought it without reservation. Thankfully, I happened to take the time to read possible side effects, and when I saw increased (mild) burning and itching, I decided to just use the external cream first to see if I had a problem with it before inserting anything inside me. I am so glad I did that. The pain from the external cream was so severe for over 36 hours, and after 48 hours, I still have pain, but it is slowly calming down. After two full days, my pain has gone from 10/10 to about 5/10. It literally feels like my skin was burned. I cannot imagine what would have happened if I had used the insert as well as the external cream. It makes me cringe to think about it. It is truly ridiculous, the number of women who have had these same kinds of problems. Absolutely ridiculous."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I did the first dose of Monistat 3 last night...don't know if I can finish. Oh, the burn! I know the warning label says there might be some burning, but that label needs to be in huge font and bright red...no way was this product developed by a woman. To anyone saying 'the burn is just cleaning out the YI, stop being a baby' (I've seen a couple of those on here), they must have been lucky to not have this awful side effect. There is absolutely no reason for it to hurt that badly. Beware! This product will make you feel like someone has taken a blowtorch to your vagina! You'll feel like it's melting and slowly dripping out in an endless stream of pain and despair! You'll lay awake desperately trying not to scratch as you whimper in soul-rending agony! And whatever you do, don't pee after you've applied the torture device disguised as a medication - did you think it was bad before? A thousand flaming suns will burst into being all over all your most sensitive bits down there!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Why didn't I read these reviews first? What is being used in this formula that is causing the flames of fire to visit me? I'm so uncomfortable - no! I'm in pain! This is absolutely stupid for a product to have this kind of reaction for so many women, and to happen in such a delicate place. I'm getting madder the more I try to sit here comfortably and type."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "At first, I was scared to use the product because the thought of inserting an ovule in me was strange. I took the Monistat 1, and it took about 6 days to fully work in my body, which the amount of days it’s supposed to work is 3-7, so I definitely recommend this product if you don’t want to see a gynecologist. The only con is that it can be itchy when it first starts to work inside of you, but the cream will definitely ease that itching urge. Also, it can make your abdomen hurt at first, but for me, that went away after an hour or so."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I wish I had read these reviews first! Oh my, so I had thought I had thrush for a couple of months, treated with Canesten clotrimazole cream. (I'm in England, and that is what you get there) but actually, it turned out it was BV, so I had finished the course of metronidazole, and they said it was possible I could get thrush from the antibiotics. I did feel better but got sore a little that came on halfway through the antibiotics, so I used Monistat 3 I ordered a few weeks ago from the USA. We cannot purchase it in England, I thought it may be better than Canesten as it is miconazole rather than clotrimazole and a three-day treatment rather than just one day like Canesten. I put it in at 5 am, and it burned so bad after about ten minutes. It's 21:13 now, so 16 hours later, still burning on the left side of my vagina. Horrible. Reading these comments, I'm so shocked. Also, the Canesten clotrimazole I used in December and January when I thought I had thrush (not BV) did not burn me like this."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was trying to see if the level of burning and pain I felt was normal, and I’m so glad I stumbled across this site. The Monistat 1 made me feel as if I had sat directly on a hair straightener set to the highest setting. Using the cream along with the egg felt so bad that I had friends ask me if I was alright because I looked like I was suffering. The next day, using the cream makes me feel like I wiped my vagina with marmalade made of fire ants. I am in bed trying everything I can to stop moving around and thrashing, but it’s almost impossible. However, I would rather suffer through this than go pay an expensive copay at the doctor and deal with my YI for a longer period of time than necessary."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I woke up with a very mild YI and picked up Monistat 1 to take care of the infection before it could get worse. I get to work, after inserting the little egg thing and, as everyone else here has described, the pain, fire ants, and lava in and around my vagina. I got to a point where I was talking to customers with tears in my eyes and almost leaving because the burning was so incredibly intense. I thought it was just a really intense YI, but after reading the rest of the reviews, I'm thinking this product is just terrible."
