For Heart Failure "I’m a 56-year-old male. I had a heart attack and felt great after a stent was placed. First visit with the doctor a week later, he prescribed Entresto. Within a month, I was in the ER with total kidney failure. I am now on dialysis and in need of a kidney transplant. Kidney function is less than 20%. My kidney function was normal the week before starting this drug."

For Heart Failure "I went into sudden cardiac arrest and had to be shocked with the defibrillator. My heart was functioning at 35%. I now have an implanted defibrillator. My cardiologist said that they think I had a virus that attacked my heart, which caused myocarditis. Dr. prescribed Entresto, Carvedil, and Aldactone. I had to have the Dr. lower my dose of the Carvedil because I was experiencing very bad dizziness and lightheadedness. The Entresto has me coughing all day and night. It’s the worst feeling having to cough so much. I just recently had an ultrasound and after a few months on this medicine, my heart is still pumping at 35%. I pray that this number increases."

For Heart Failure "I am 48 years old and I have Left bundle branch block (LBBB) and a low ejection fraction of 30 to 35. I used to be on Lisinopril and Carvedilol before taking Entresto. The Lisinopril didn't suit me well and gave me anxiety. I have been on Entresto and Carvedilol for almost a year and I enjoy taking the medicines together. I workout 3 times a week and I am losing weight, and my ejection fraction is increasing. I am not having any side effects, but a very light dizziness if I sit for a long time and get up fast. I can feel that my heart works easier than before and my average blood pressure is 117/68. Entresto is about $485 a month; however, if you go online and register, they provide a discount card and after my insurance, I pay $60 a month."

For Heart Failure "The cardiologist started me on Entresto 6 months ago for my heart failure. No follow-up or blood work was done until recently, which came as a result of seeing my regular doctor who was concerned about edema on the left side. My doctor told me blood work should be done within two weeks of starting this drug. Kidney function was normal before starting this drug, now I have stage 3 kidney failure in six months on Entresto. The cardiologist dropped the ball, and I intend to sue. My life expectancy has dropped by over ten years."

For Heart Failure "A short time after having started on Entresto 50 mg, I noticed a reduction in my vision. Eye surgeons weren't quite sure what it was, except that they saw an inflammation on my optic nerve. They guessed at temporal arteritis and put me on cortisone. But even now, several months later, I feel a faint flare-up of the same feeling on my optic nerve. Could this be connected to the blurred vision listed as one of the most important side effects, do you think?"

For Heart Failure "This drug is expensive. Patients on Medicare D can soon find themselves in the donut hole, thus causing added problems for many. (Not if money is no object). There is not enough information out on this drug's ability to prolong life. Doctor mentions very few side effects. Main ones were low BP, angioedema, high potassium/kidney damage. I bring up more side effects, he does not agree yet. Drugs.com lists side effects that I am having with this med. Back pain/side pain. I have had difficulty walking due to these pains and resort to a walker. Heart failure caused by poor stent placement in LAD. My EF is sliding downwards from 40-45% to recent echo of 30-35%. I thought this med was the answer to HF. Needing more solid info."

For Heart Failure "47-year-old female. CHF at 46. DT-LVAD last year. My meds are changed often as they are still working on the perfect balance and types of drugs I respond best to. I was put on Entresto about two months ago. Significant improvement in daily functions and energy level. Feel stronger and more awake. It's like running on caffeine. No other side effects."

For Heart Failure "I felt dizzy, light-headed, confused, and my throat felt like it was closing. I can't tell if it is any good because you are on so many medications when you have stage 3 heart failure. But I do know this: the trials should have gone forward to look at all evidence, these fast-track FDA approvals have killed a lot of people because of serious side effects. Look at the law commercials you see every day."

For Heart Failure "My husband has been taking Entresto for 3 months. This past week, we have seen a big improvement in him. His E.F. is 14. His feet and legs are not swelled, his breathing is better, and he’s not so tired all the time. He was diagnosed with CHF in Oct 2018, had a quadruple bypass in Dec 2018. This is the best we have seen him in a long time!"

For Heart Failure "I think the success rate and ability to tolerate the medication may vary from patient to patient. However, I think it can be a game changer for many living with CHF and is worth a go. My husband (age 39) was diagnosed with CHF in April 2021 with an LVEF of 14%. He started carvedilol, Farixga, spironolactone, torsemide, and Entresto. It took him a week or so to adapt to the medicine, we even went back to the ER a couple of days after his release because he felt terrible and was vomiting. They adjusted his diuretics and he started feeling much better. We went back today (3.5 months later) for another Echo and EKG, and his LVEF has improved from 14% to 40%. He's not on the maximum dose of Entresto yet. We are hoping in 3-6 more months his LVEF will be at a normal range above 50%. He is a golf instructor and works in the sun all day for up to 10 hours and usually takes over 20K steps a day. He is living a completely normal life now (minus all the meds) with zero symptoms."

For Heart Failure "Male, 61 years old. I had a tissue aortic valve inserted late 2017, thanks, Grandma, for the hand-me-down. Then, in early 2019, I started to get fatigued and short of breath, it was not good. In September 2019, my cardiologist fitted my pacemaker with a defibrillator and put me on 1.5 tablets a day, 24/26 mg. I have never felt better since taking Entresto. Seriously, I feel like a new man again. It is just good to move freely, climbing stairs, hills, etc., without becoming tired and fatigued."

For Heart Failure "To clarify for those who misunderstood the ejection fraction (EF), it is the percentage of blood in your heart that is ejected. If it ejected 100%, you would be in serious trouble! Thus, the 50%-70% “normal” range. Following near-fatal heart failure and surgery, in 2009, I spent a week in an induced coma. My EF was below 30%, and 6 months later, at 30%, they implanted a defibrillator and pacemaker. Approximately in 2018, the cardiac team took me off Coversyl 2 mg and put me on Entresto 24+26 x 2 per day, total dose 48+52. My energy and ability to function shot up immediately, allowing me to do more of what I enjoy. Gradually, over 3-4 years, I have lost muscle strength and joint motility. It finally occurred to me that Entresto could be responsible for this deterioration. I called the cardiac team to tell them I am stopping the Entresto. They tried to blame my B3 for the muscle problems. I found this site and have read every review. For me, Entresto was good for 6-12 months."

For Heart Failure "Have afib and a 22% EF after exercise, went up to 35-40%. Weight gain from 308 lb to now over 360 lb and eating less and low sodium, constant joint pain, blurred vision, and depressed because I can't wear any of my clothes. After late April in the donut hole with my insurance and monthly medicine bill on Entresto and Eliquis jumps from $47.00 to $147.00 a month till almost December. I asked my doctor to put me on carvedilol or something else that does the same thing, only dirt cheap. I am now reducing my dosage to one a day instead of two and getting off it. I read these reviews and I would say 10% of people it's good for, the rest, it sucks!"

For Heart Failure "My husband was put on Entresto by a doctor who was “supposed to be the best.” I hate this stuff! His entire personality changes when he is on it. Tired, moody, sleepy, and unhappy. He fluctuates from high to low dose. I can always tell when he takes a higher dose by his mood. He has been taking it for four years and stubbornly won’t try something different because the doctor PUSHES this drug. They obviously get some sort of kickback!"

For Heart Failure "My team did not know how Entresto worked, they knew I might get GERD and that I might get low potassium. They did prescribe me potassium, and I got weaker. The last two times I had to go to their office in a wheelchair, I had trouble breathing, so they added Isosorbide. At no time did they think high dose Entresto was a problem, but when I was in there, I was not able to breathe well or walk. I realized when symptoms started it was the Entresto. I refused the drug. Next time, I was able to walk 18 hours later, but it took 110 days to have no more Entresto-caused side effect symptoms."

For Heart Failure "I’m taking Entresto for heart failure and to help raise my EF. I’m a 36-year-old male with cardiac sarcoidosis and a defibrillator pacemaker. My EF was sort of going up on its own, and I haven’t checked it since I got on Entresto. Echo soon though. It was 35% last time, so we will see. I’m surprised to see all these complaints. Maybe it’s because of my age and that I’m in good shape, but this medication hasn’t given me a single side effect I’m aware of. I feel great."

For Heart Failure "My doctor, as well as the Cleveland Clinic, recommended Entresto. To make this short, every side effect listed for this med I ended up having. After gaining 20 pounds in 30 days, I called it quits on this poison as dizziness turned into vertigo, and nausea kept me on the couch, leaving me feeling lifeless. Prior to this med, I was slowly losing weight via diet and lifestyle changes and dropped from 247 to 217 in four months. I was feeling better and on my way to recovery-NATURALLY! After a week of stopping this med, I gained another 5 pounds, as expecting quick results is like turning the Titanic. The sudden weight gain is like picking up and carrying three 1-gallon bottles of milk and carrying them with me all day long. I have never felt so near death and so pray that I come out of this spiral before this iceberg called Entresto takes me down. If Russian roulette is your game, then Entresto is the name."

For Heart Failure "I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2017. My EF was 8%. I was told I was going to die. I met a group of doctors at UCLA. A great doctor recommended Entresto. I have had several side effects from the medication: joint pain every day and weight gain of 40 pounds. It's a struggle, but I am alive, and my EF is improving."

For Heart Failure "After 3 weeks on this trial drug, Entresto, I started having breathing problems. I was out of breath going upstairs and short of breath most of the time. By my 4th month, I had gone from being a 51-year-old to seeming like an 81-year-old. I had no energy, and a 10-minute walk home now took over half an hour. Even though I was walking as slowly as possible, I had many stops to catch my breath and get my heart rate down. I can no longer walk anywhere and rely on a lift. I stopped taking the drug. Maybe I'm down to feeling like a 71-year-old now. Just hoping the side effects will completely disappear. I have a meeting with my consultant at the end of the week."

For Heart Failure "I have had CHF for 4 years and still try to body build, and my EF has been 10 to 15 and no higher. This drug better work. I was diagnosed at 39. I'm on spironolactone and Lasix. Also, if I gain weight, that will be fine, but only ten pounds. I need to gain. I've been in and out of the hospital over 50 times, and I'm in stage four heart failure. That's why I continue to hit the gym and work full time, even though it's hard, so I will keep you updated. Just started three days ago."

For Heart Failure "I’ve only been on Entresto for 3 months, and after reading a lot of negative reviews, I was very leery about this medication. However, after adjusting to the med (it does take time, it will make you tired, it did make me feel like I lost my spark), I started to feel increasingly better. My fatigue lessened and my energy increased. I started to feel more normal for the first time since being diagnosed with left ventricular noncompaction cardiomyopathy (LVNC) 2 years ago. My EF (ejection fraction) went from 12% to 32%, and I’ve only been on it a few months! I cannot express how thankful I am for Entresto! I know it’s not for everyone, but I have tolerated it so well. Every weekly blood draw has been great, and most importantly, I continue to feel a little better each week. As a mother of 5 children ranging from age 2 to 13, I’ll take all the energy I can get!"

For Heart Failure "I was diagnosed with EF of 40% 8 months ago and have cardiomyopathy. I started on Entresto 50 mg twice a day. Had many side effects for a month or two whilst my body adjusted to the medicine. But after that, I only sometimes have back pain. Now, 8 months on, I just had another Echo. 62% EF (heart function). My cardiologist is very happy for me. He said I will be on Entresto for the rest of my life. I will say that since day 1 of being on this drug, I stopped alcohol consumption. I also eat better foods and do exercise twice a day: fast walk in the mornings around 2 km and at night 1 km. The doctor said no hardcore running or anything like this with my condition and on this drug. Overall, I think my brain function has improved as well. I highly rate Entresto as a 'wonder drug,' and so does my cardiologist."

Survived an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Thank you, Jesus. Two years later, my EF is 55%. Life-saving drug. Thankful every day."

For Heart Failure "Can't give the best review as I have only been on it about a week, but I noticed that I am not nearly as tired. Hoping this is because of the Entresto. Was previously on ramipril, carvedilol, and furosemide. Currently, EF is 20%, so hoping this helps long term."
