Systane (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I notice this week my eyes were dry, I placed 2 eye drops of Systane ultra high performing dry eye relief in each of my eyes. Within minutes the back right side of my head began to hurt and throb. I knew this eye drop cause the pain. I read about the main ingredient polyethylene glycol 400 0.4 can cause head pain."

Oasis Tears (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "Oasis tears are good doctors consider it the best, however it is a rip off, the vials are a disaster you open and you lose some the drop in your eye takes time and you may miss your eye then they are difficult to close. Finally it becomes so expensive that is not worth it. Don’t buy them there are similar products that are cheaper and they do the same job. They are very difficult to use"

Refresh Plus (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I have had dry eyes for many years since 2018. I have narrow angle glaucoma and use glaucoma drops every night. I was using Hylo dry eye drops for a few years and my eyes were getting sore for no medical reason, so I chose Refresh Plus. It seems to work for my dry eyes. I use the single-use eye drops and the easy-to-use glaucoma night ones, but I found the single-use ones for Refresh Plus were harder to squeeze because I have neuropathy in my fingers. It's as if the plastic is too hard or thick. I always 'waste' the first drop of any single-use vials and then put one drop in each eye. I found that with Refresh, after that first drop, sometimes I had trouble with the second drop not coming out. Six weeks ago, I started to get sort of moving raindrops in my vision. This is under investigation, along with the floaters I already had. I doubt if it has anything to do with either eye drops, but I am searching for side effects of any eye drops or medications while waiting for a diagnosis. I am curious to read other reviews. *I never recommend meds."

Systane (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I only used Systane for 3 days for mild blepharitis. It caused blurriness and extremely pronounced puffiness under the eyes (with a red vein very pronounced). It also caused a migraine. Over-the-counter allergy pills seem to have a better effect on relieving most of the symptoms. Will not use it again."

Refresh Celluvisc (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "After using this product for a short time (1 day), I am displeased that after several uses, the drops leave a crusty residue under the eyes. The residue can only be removed using something oily like cold cream or mineral oil."

Refresh Liquigel (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I'm 79 yrs old and Eye Dr. told me my eyes are very dry and to use Refresh liquigel for relief. After using in each eye about three times, I wake up with swollen eyelids and rash around the outside of each eye. My skin seems to reject a few drops that tear out of the eye after dropping into the eye. I had to stop using and wait it out with ice compression and allergy medication. I am very allergic to whatever is in this eye medication. Thank God that my eyesight and eyeball were not affected, only the eyelids and under-eye."

Regener-Eyes Lite (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I suffer from MGD and ocular rosacea, and I've been using Regener-Eyes Lite and Professional Strength eye drops for over 18 months. My dry eyes are much more manageable and feel well-hydrated now. My eyes have never felt better, and I'm incredibly grateful to my doctor for recommending these drops. Nothing else has worked for me."

Systane (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I have allergies and my eyes get itchy so I thought I would try Systane to sooth my irritated eyes. When I put a drop in each eye my eyes became blurred over and I could not see! As it dissipated some I could not longer read the information on the box! It damaged my eyes! I flushed my eyes out three times with water and it still didn’t help! They felt itchy and sticky.. That evening my right eye had a lump that appeared on my lower lid, white is still there! And my eye sight from the eye drops on Friday are still not back to normal! How can a company produce a product that is not safe to use? I am going to call my attorney!"

Systane Ultra (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "Crazy. My eye dr pushed these eye drops so hard and using these eye drops made my eyes dryer and dryer. It took 2.5 years to discover that I should use preservative free eye drops instead —because low and behold I was allergic to the regular drops! The reg drops caused more inflammation which interfered with My normal tear production. Thousands of dollars later, a lot of pain and suffering, two ulcers on my left eye and it was the office receptionist that suggested I try preservative free eye drops! And, within a couple of weeks my devastating dry eye symptoms were gone."

Lacrisert (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I have been using Lacriserts for at least 20 years, I have dry eye from sjogrens disease. Like other people say they are a God send. I have not been able to get them this last month and I now get to be totally miserable with my dry eyes since they have absolutely no tears. This is the third time his has happened to me. It is a necessity for me. Can someone please tell me why they are not available? I am in a lot of pain and so far this is the only medication that works for me, OTC or prescription"

Systane Ultra (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I bought Systane Ultra yesterday due to supposed accolades of doctors. Used it once. Eyes became increasingly red. That night all lights had halos (maybe the viscosity of the fluid?) Eyes burned when I tried to read. I read the reviews to see if any others were having similar side effects. They were. I washed my eyes with a warm baby shampoo solution last night to start ridding my eyes of the residuals. They are better this morning. Unfortunately, the experience and the experience of others have left me skeptical of Alcon products, or at least this one."

Systane Balance (ocular lubricant) for Eye Redness "I've had chronic dry eyes for years as a consequence of an ongoing eye condition. I've used eye drops for years seeking relief includes another Systane product, generic eye lubricants and prescription restasis. This is the first product that has provided real ongoing relief. The only negative is it cannot be used while contacts are in place, but this is minor when compared to the relief provided."

Systane Ultra (ocular lubricant) "I started with regular Systane, but after a few months it was simply not enough to remedy my dry eyes, so I segued over to Ultra, which was great for a number of years. Now I don't know what changed, but the Ultra started leaving a hard crust in my eyelashes and under my eyes on the skin––kinda like sleep-sand mixed with glue. And you can't simply rub it out of your eyes; this stuff has to be picked off piece by piece. I don't know what caused this (it's only been this bad since I moved from Southern to Northern California about a year ago), but if anyone knows of a substitute, I'd be grateful for your input."

TheraTears (ocular lubricant) for Eye Redness "I had used numerous other eye drops in the course of 3 years prior to being diagnosed with Sjorgen's Syndrome. The only succesful drops were the Theratears (single usage-no preservatives). Unfortunately it has been just in the past 8 months or so that I have not been able to purchase this product at any drug store located in South Central Ontario Canada. Once again I needed to try some other drops that where accessible to me. No success and much frustration. I decided to take the big step and order on-line directly from the company. (Never thought I would do something like this but I was desparate) Thank you ever so much for shipping this product because it is indeed a life saver. Thank you Theratears."

Systane Ultra (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I started taking Systane Ultra for dry eye, and my eyes got so red and irritated, I had to quit using it. My vision became very blurry and my eyes both really hurt. I am convinced it was preservatives in them that caused my problem. I will never use these again. I hope my eyes get better soon."

Systane (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "Caused horrible migraines and nausea both times using drops, within 30-40 minutes of using 1 drop per eye. First time I did not think it was due to drops, second time, 2 days later, I realized the cause was the drops. Caused a migraine both times... not a headache, but full on migraine!"

Refresh Optive Mega-3 (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "These are the best eye drops that I have used out of the many that I have tried. I think that there is more lubrication in these eye drops than in other brands that I have tried. I am using preservative-free eye drops. I have experienced burning and itching when I use any brand of eye drops that contains a preservative."

Systane (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I used Systane Relief for Dry Eyes about 5 years ago and felt my eyes got drier every day. The day I stopped was when my both corneas tore when I woke up and opened my eyes due to my eyes being so dry. I saw my optometrist and contacted Systane. Systane quickly sent a courier to pick up their product and never reported anything back to me. I called them and they wouldn't respond. 5 years later I am having laser surgery to repair my cornea where I had the most damage and lost 1/2 my vision in that eye."

I stopped the Systane. My eyes are still bothering me but I’m 100% sure my eyes are more blurry and irritated then they were. Oasis Tears (ocular lubricant) "I have been using it for a month and my eyes are a mess. I just thought maybe I had really bad allergies all of a sudden and that my eyesight was starting to go bad due to age. Then on top of the watering and blurriness, my eyes started burning and I finally put two and two together. I will stop using it immediately and hopefully there is no permanent damage."

Oasis Tears Plus (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "Tried this brand (Oasis Tears Plus) as an alternate to my current dry eye medication. Shortly after inserting the drops in both eyes, I experienced some eye pressure pain, irritation, redness, and itching in both eyes, which shortly thereafter turned into a fairly prolonged headache. I tried these drops again the next day to see if these reactions persisted, and I had the same type reaction all over again. I didn't have any of these adverse reactions with my other brand dry eye drops, so I quit using these Oasis drops immediately. Primary ingredient is glycerin, but the incipient ingredients are questionable. Do not recommend if you have drug sensitivities or allergies."

Lacrisert (ocular lubricant) for Eye Redness "My eyes are painful if I open them too quickly. Sometimes even when just blinking, they stick closed. The Lacriserts are a God send. The only major drawback (well, minor in relation to the benefits) is that I have to remove the inserts within 10 hours or they become like a glue and actually add to the pain. But during the 10 hours it's like a miracle!"

Lubricant Eye Drops (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I'm 50 and I've used other drops all my life with no problems. After a few weeks of using these drops my eyes started burning and I noticed my vision would get blurry at night while trying to watch TV. I never had these symptoms before using these drops and it was getting so bad I finally decided to look at the reviews... sure enough, I saw a lot of other people are experiencing the same exact horrible side effects. I just threw mine in the trash... I just hope it didn't do any permanent damage."
