What is Refresh Plus?

There are many brands and forms of ocular lubricant available and not all are listed on this leaflet.

Refresh Plus is used in adults to relieve burning, irritation, and discomfort caused by dry eyes.

Refresh Plus may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

You should not use an Refresh Plus to treat or prevent an eye infection.

Before taking this medicine

You should not use an Refresh Plus if you are allergic to it. This medicine will not treat or prevent an eye infection.

Ask a doctor or pharmacist if it is safe for you to use Refresh Plus if you have any type of infection in your eye.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How should I use Refresh Plus?

Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Use the medicine exactly as directed.

Wash your hands before using Refresh Plus.

Do not use Refresh Plus and call your pharmacist if the medicine looks cloudy or has changed color.

Do not touch the tip of the eye dropper or ointment tube or place it directly on your eye. A contaminated tip can infect your eye, which could lead to serious vision problems.

Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve, or if they get worse while using Refresh Plus.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Refresh Plus is used when needed. If you are on a dosing schedule, skip any missed dose. Do not use two doses at one time.

What happens if I overdose?

An overdose of ocular lubricant is not expected to be dangerous. Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222 if anyone has accidentally swallowed the medication.

What should I avoid while using Refresh Plus?

Refresh Plus may cause blurred vision. Avoid driving or hazardous activity until you know how this medicine will affect you.

Do not use other eye medications unless your doctor tells you to.

What other drugs will affect Refresh Plus?

Medicine used in the eyes is not likely to be affected by other drugs you use. But many drugs can interact. Tell your doctor about all your current medicines, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
