Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Dry Eye Disease "I have dry eye, and I used Refresh gel and liquid, that worked for me. However, a friend told me to switch to Systane, and I notice that my eyes keep getting drier by the day. I woke up with my eyes red and feeling like there was sand in my eyes, and very itchy all through the day. I decided to go back to Refresh two days ago, and my problems went away. I will never use anything but Refresh again. Systane damages your eyes, in my opinion."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Dry Eye Disease "Two weeks after eye surgery (cataract), I went in to see my eye doctor. My vision was great. He said my eye looked wonderful and was now completely healed. I was delighted! Then he gave me these Refresh Optive Mega-3 eye drops to use. I told him I finished the other eye drops and didn't want any more due to the filmy cloudiness they caused, but he insisted I use them. So I went home and put one drop into my eye, and oh, was that a HUGE MISTAKE. My eye turned red, swelled up, and it felt like someone had punched me in the eye. Watering, burning, and PAIN! I returned to his office, and he told me to go home and hold an ice bag on my eye for 15 minutes at a time. It's been six hours, and still no relief. BEWARE OF THIS PRODUCT!"

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Eye Redness "Have been using SYSTANE on and off for a few weeks and have experienced severe redness, swelling, and itching around my eyes. Couldn't figure out at first what was causing it, so narrowed it down to this product and made note when I used it. Sure enough, SYSTANE seemed to be the cause. While using this eye gel and naturally blinking after it is placed in my eyes, some gel gets onto the surrounding skin around the eyes, and it has caused the redness, itching, and swelling. So, be aware of this side effect."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Eye Redness "Was prescribed this for dry eyes by optometrist, told to use twice daily. Ever since 1st use, eyes stung and got extremely red, vision got worse, blurry vision, redness, itchy, and sensitivity to light. Did not realize it was this until I stopped use. Was told to use every 2 hours, and vision was getting worse. This product did not work for me."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Dry Eye Disease "I didn't connect it to the drops, but I have had burning, redness, blurred vision, and floaters since I started using Systane Ultra. I got a new prescription for glasses as I thought my eyesight had changed. I will stop using it today. I have been using this product for the last 6 months, so hope no permanent damage has been done. Avoid. MHRA should also look into the product."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Dry Eye Disease "What a miserable experience! Something that is this expensive and preservative-free shouldn't cause such discomfort. It has been a nightmare. My eyes got swollen, irritated, and the entire eye socket area became/is bright red. I still haven't recovered from it. It looks like I got punched in the eyes. I've tried many brands and drops before and NEVER had an experience like this. I'm taking them back and will never, ever buy this brand again."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Dry Eye Disease "Tried this brand (Oasis Tears Plus) as an alternate to my current dry eye medication. Shortly after inserting the drops in both eyes, I experienced some eye pressure pain, irritation, redness, and itching in both eyes, which shortly thereafter turned into a fairly prolonged headache. I tried these drops again the next day to see if these reactions persisted, and I had the same type of reaction all over again. I didn't have any of these adverse reactions with my other brand dry eye drops, so I quit using these Oasis drops immediately. Primary ingredient is glycerin, but the incipient ingredients are questionable. Do not recommend if you have drug sensitivities or allergies."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Dry Eye Disease "Oasis Tears Plus side effects. I think my husband and I both are experiencing reactions to this product. Both of us have redder, more sensitive, itchy reactions. Today, after a week's use, my eyes are red, and clearly, this isn't working for me. My husband isn't complaining that much. Stopping use today and going back to Systane."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic "Bought this because the eye Dr. recommended it, and since I started using it, my eye is worse than ever... watering nonstop, puffy, redness, and blurry vision. Today is so bad I can't even see clearly to drive! I work in the medical field, and I will be telling everyone I can!!!"

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic "I purchased Systane Ultra by Alcon a couple of days ago. It did not help my dry and red eyes. It made my eyes itch worse than ever, they were really red too. It might have something to do with the preservative used, I don't know for sure. I went back to using Oculac by Alcon instead, it seems it has the same manufacturer, but it is cheaper and a little thinner."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Dry Eye Disease "Due to ocular rosacea, my eyes are quite dry at night, so I gave these a try. The redness, burning, light sensitivity, and tearing began after day one. I was traveling for my daughter’s wedding and was very concerned that I may have pink eye. I tried the day and night drops one more day, and the pain and symptoms worsened. I used a competitor product so I’d be presentable for the big event to whiten and soothe my eyes! I never used Systane again. Now, after five days, the symptoms are subsiding some, but the redness and burning are still present. I can’t recommend this product."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic "Ophthalmologist stated that my mother's vision was good for her age; she prescribed this medicine for dry eyes (she never complained about her eyes), but I went along with what the doctor said. After a few weeks, now it's been about two years. Into that time frame, and henceforth I noticed the redness and creamy-like substance in the eye. I thought it was normal; the nurse used to say pink eye. I said, are you sure the tip is not touching her iris, making her eye red? To this day, it still does the same thing; I have yet to relay to the doctor. I just thought when she does her eye exam, she would notice. So I too now believe there are side effects with use and prolonged use. I will let you know."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic "All of the less common side effects I have been experiencing after my cataract surgery by using this medication: burning, itching, redness, sensitivity to light, etc. This was prescribed to me by my ophthalmologist after surgery. At this point, I am going to stop using this and contact my physician for further assistance."

For Dry Eye Disease "I was given samples of Blink Tears for my dry eyes and was already having a slight eczema breakout, which I made very clear to the doctor. Since using these drops, I found for the first hour or so my eyes feel a little better but now have a full-blown rash all around my eyes. They itch and burn and are very red and inflamed. I cannot believe how bad this has gotten to the point I can’t go outside. Will not use this product any longer."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Eye Redness "I was sold this medicine as a natural remedy. All it does is make my eye worse and irritate the one eye I have used it for. It became inflamed and even redder. No wonder really as it contains a cocktail of acids, including hydrochloric. No more natural than anything you'd find in a lab. I think I'll use distilled water."
