Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Eye Redness "I have used Systane for about 9 weeks and have been experiencing severe swelling and irritation of my eyelids, including splitting of the skin and drying out of the sore areas. Have narrowed down the cause as Systane, and not blepharitis."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic "In preparation for cataract surgery, my ophthalmologist told me to use Systane four times a day. After the first eye was done, I was also told to use it in the operated eye for irritation as needed. So now after repeated use and both eyes getting worse and worse in terms of dryness, irritation, and light sensitivity, I finally had the DUH moment and figured out the Systane was making my eyes miserable. It's now been about 19 hours since I stopped the drops, and both eyes are SO, SO much improved. Maybe this stuff is okay for an occasional dose, but most certainly not repeatedly."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Dry Eye Disease "I have severe dry eyes due to radiation of the left eye. This is the ONLY eye drops that have really helped. I usually use them twice a day. If I do not, my eyes are very irritated. I am very disappointed because the pharmacy I use has discontinued stocking them because of the cost. Many of my friends have changed to FreshKote, they are worth the extra cost. My sight is worth the cost."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic "I was advised to use the Systane Ultra by my optometrist, but the irritation it caused and splitting and crusting of the skin around my eyes has been unbearable. The skin around my eyes is itchy and crusty and splitting at the corners. My vision is blurred and worse for using it. It will take a few days to settle down, it seems, but I won't be using it again!"

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Dry Eye Disease "Tried this brand (Oasis Tears Plus) as an alternate to my current dry eye medication. Shortly after inserting the drops in both eyes, I experienced some eye pressure pain, irritation, redness, and itching in both eyes, which shortly thereafter turned into a fairly prolonged headache. I tried these drops again the next day to see if these reactions persisted, and I had the same type of reaction all over again. I didn't have any of these adverse reactions with my other brand dry eye drops, so I quit using these Oasis drops immediately. Primary ingredient is glycerin, but the incipient ingredients are questionable. Do not recommend if you have drug sensitivities or allergies."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Dry Eye Disease "Recently, I noticed that my eyes were burning and becoming cloudy after using my most recent bottle of Systane. Initially, I assumed there was something wrong with my eyes. However, I spent the past week at our vacation home and used a different bottle of the same product (with a different lot code), and I didn't experience any irritation. When I returned home and used the original bottle, the burning and clouding returned. To test whether the issue was with the particular bottle, I tried another bottle of the same product with a different lot number and didn't experience any problems. The problematic product has lot number 117EX and expires in May 2023."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic "I used Lacriserts for years and found them to be the best solution for dry eyes. Then they went off the market in early spring and couldn't find them anywhere. When they became available again, I could only wear them for 3-4 hours a day without irritation. I am wondering if the formulation changed when they were unavailable."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Dry Eye Disease "I ran out of my REFRESH and have tried SYSTANE in the past, so I bought the ULTRA. Not aware that it could be causing problems. I recently have been having a lot of irritation, especially in my left eye, to the point I woke up one morning with a broken blood vessel in my eye. While looking online to see if it's still okay to use my Restasis with the broken vessel, I came across these complaints against SYSTANE ULTRA. Now I know why my eyes have seemed drier and more irritated than usual. When I put REFRESH in, they soothed right away, but with the SYSTANE ULTRA, it didn't even feel like I was getting any relief, just the opposite!"

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Eye Redness "I was sold this medicine as a natural remedy. All it does is make my eye worse and irritate the one eye I have used it for. It became inflamed and even redder. No wonder really as it contains a cocktail of acids, including hydrochloric. No more natural than anything you'd find in a lab. I think I'll use distilled water."

For Dry Eye Disease "I have used Restasis and also Xiidra for my dry eyes from Sjögren's disease. Big mistake on using either one. Both are very costly and created more problems than help. Started using Blink Gel Drops and was getting along fine. No irritation, etc. Then saw my eye professional. She instructed me to use drops AT LEAST 4-6 times a day. This has made for very blurry vision. Also making my eyes feel more tired than ever before. Wish docs would use some of these products themselves."

Ocular lubricant ophthalmic for Dry Eye Disease "I went to purchase Refresh Tears (I have been using them for 9 years) and discovered the store was no longer carrying them. I purchased Systane Ultra and used it that evening. I then continued to use it twice a day. On the third day, my right eye was irritated, and my large floater was more irritated and painful. I put in the drops several times that day, but to no avail. I consider the product harmful to my eye and a waste of my money."
