For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have never itched so much in my life! I have used Monistat in the past and didn’t have any adverse reaction, so naturally, I figured I would just stick with what worked for me before. I am miserable and so regret using this. The itch and burn are 10x worse than what I initially had to begin with. I took 2 showers and tried coconut oil and am still in so much discomfort. I really don’t want to take the other 2 dosages if this is what I have to look forward to."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have used Monistat for all of my adult life. Never, and I mean, NEVER has it done this to me before. My hoohaw is so swollen it feels like I've had sexual encounters with a horse...(not something I'm into, by the way). I've been on antibiotics for another illness, and of course that messes with the lady bits. So, because I've used this many times before, I bought it with confidence. I'm used to discomfort, I'm used to slight burning. This is like rubbing menthol on an open wound. A million tiny cuts and swelling. So now I wince in pain every time I move. My fiancé is certain my other illness is not getting better and doesn't quite understand that it actually is, but now I have an inferno between my legs and I don't mean the sexy, alluring kind. Word of advice...get an RX for antibiotics? Go ahead and ask for Diflucan. Whatever you do, don't put this stuff in your cart, let alone anywhere on your body."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used Monistat 7 as well as their vulvar cream. While I didn’t have the intense, fire burning with application, at the end of the treatment my vulva and vagina are still very irritated and I am very, very dry. I went to urgent care and tested negative for BV and yeast, so while the infection is gone, the medication left that area a mess. I have found things that have helped: I stopped using toilet paper after peeing and am just rinsing with water and patting dry with a towel, and that has made the biggest difference. I also rinse off after sweating because the sweat burns. Hydrocortisone ointment (not cream because it’s drying, and make sure the only ingredient it had is petrolatum—some have alcohol, which will burn) once or twice a day has helped. A thin layer of olive oil has helped the discomfort caused by any rubbing from walking, sitting, or clothing. I will never use this medication again. Next time, I’ll go straight to urgent care and ask for Diflucan."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I've had a yeast infection maybe 3 or 4 times. 2/4 went away by themselves. The first time I used Monistat 7 and felt fine. Today I bought Monistat 1 with the egg, and as I'm writing this in bed at 2:40 a.m., all I can think about is how much itchier it is! OMG. I just want to scratch. It's so uncomfortable, and I cannot fall asleep. When I used the 7-day, it worked. This one better work."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Do not buy this!! 1 min after using the cream, the itch started, then it turned to a terrible burning. This causes more pain and discomfort than a YI ever could. It feels like I put Nair inside me. The package says minor itching and burning. Nothing about this is minor! I just want this medicine out of me now!!!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Why, oh why didn't I read these threads before I did this to myself? I had the very beginnings of a YI. Slight itching, a little discomfort. I decide to go buy Monistat 3. I make sure not to get an off brand that is cheaper. It's Monistat, and I've heard of it a million times. Women all over the world use it, right? Oh my gosh! What a terrible mistake. I hate the makers of this 'medicine'! I see people are saying it works after enduring the pain. I agree. It's only been 30 minutes since I lathered my insides with this lava. But this cream is melting the top layer of my vagina off, with it goes the YI. So, yeah, I guess it would work. Ugh. I am hating life right now, and after this heinous crime, I shouldn't even be allowed to have a vagina anymore... please, somebody, how long does this pain last? Somebody, anybody... how do I make it stop????!!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I got the 3-day Monistat. I haven’t had a yeast infection in quite a while, so last time I used Monistat it was the suppositories, which I actually liked. I used the first cream applicator last night and... wow, my vagina was on fire just MINUTES after inserting this stuff. Somehow, I fell asleep and woke up with so much burning the next morning (today). Around lunchtime, my vagina started feeling SO much better for the rest of the day, so I decided to give the cream another shot before bed... bad decision. It started burning all over again, and this is more painful than the yeast infection itself. I would never recommend this. Maybe the suppositories are still good if they still make them, but this is a NIGHTMARE. I am seriously burning so much and in so much pain and so incredibly uncomfortable and itchy."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "So, everyone on here is pretty much right. The itching and burning is a thing for sure, and I don’t really know how I’m going to sleep well tonight, but it’s honestly not THAT bad. At least not for me. Like, I definitely considered washing this out to the best of my ability since it is pretty freaking uncomfortable, but it’s only the first night, so I’m gonna try to stick it out to see if I have any improvement with my original issue. But yes, the burning and itching is real and is something to take into consideration, especially if you have a low pain tolerance."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Within 5 minutes after inserting the cream, I felt more itching and burning than I did with just the infection. Yes, the cream works, but I don't know if the side effects are worth it. It's impossible to stand up. All I can do is lie in bed and just take the discomfort. I refuse to hop in the tub because I do not enjoy wasting my money."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Reading all these reviews is really helping me get through this terrible burning/itchy feeling. Def helps keep my mind off the pain. I'm on day 2 of the Monistat 3, and within a couple of minutes of inserting it, I was screaming and crying like a baby. Finally fell asleep and woke up a few hours later to use the bathroom, and it's still uncomfortable. But the good thing is, while using the bathroom after wiping, I didn't see any white little chunks anymore, so I know the medicine is working. But it's super uncomfortable. I can't wait for this to be over with."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Omg, whatever you do, please don't use!!! I have had several YIs in my day, so the other day, after some itching and discomfort, I decided to grab the three-day miconazole... WOW, within seconds of inserting, I ran out of the bathroom crying for my mom to help. I have never been in more pain in my life. I thought my skin was melting off. I literally dug out all the cream with my fingers and flushed my poor vag out with water... I'm laying in bed 30 minutes later, and I'm still in pain... I will be calling tomorrow to get my money back. It should be illegal to sell this vaginal acid."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm not sure why this product is still on the shelves. Within 5 minutes of using this, I was burning so badly I literally cried. I went to take a shower to wash it off, and I started bleeding. Even after the shower, I'm still in pain and uncomfortable. I'm so angry. I can't believe this product hasn't been pulled from the shelves yet. How many more women will have to roll over in pain before this product is banned?!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Equate brand 1-day treatment Miconazole 1 - DO NOT USE! I REPEAT: DO NOT USE! This product was created by some mean person. I inserted the tablet via the applicator, and within minutes, the itching was worse than ever before. I figured I’d use the cream to help with the itch, but it was the flame that lit the gas on fire. It felt like my vagina went up in flames. It even started to throb. I was so uncomfortable I tried showering it off. To be honest, the only thing that’s helped has been reading these reviews. I feel as though I’m now part of a support group called the Burned Vaginas. We need to be compensated for the physical, emotional, and psychological pain this awful “medication” has caused. Maybe Ellen will have us on her show. I WILL be calling the number and demanding a full refund. I will be sending them my therapy bill too. So sorry for everyone on this forum. We are in this together, ladies. Best of luck."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "So everyone saying this was horrible and burning them, they felt horrible. Just know the product was working. A yeast infection causes basically a rash in your vaginal canal, which is a fungus, so it’s irritated and will be because the product is getting rid of the infection. The first few nights it was kind of uncomfortable. I’m on day 4, still a small amount of itching, but the cream helps during the day, and at night I use the vaginal cream. So far it’s worked for me, pain is inevitable. It’s a yeast infection...."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "First night using, and it's a little uncomfortable, but it's probably the medication doing the job right. My symptoms before this were similar to an angry dragon. My lady bits were uncomfortable, sore all day, a burning feeling not just when peeing, but did occur while urinating as well, and very little itching here and there. This slight pain will hopefully result in a happier atmosphere down there. I see lots of reviews pointing out the burning and itching, but it's gotta get worse before it gets better is what I think, but it honestly depends on each individual what you are willing to tolerate. Pills are easier, less messy, and no dealing with any discomfort, just wait for your body to react. This is what my doc told me to take since I am pregnant, and unfortunately, pregnancy tends to throw your body off track. Hopefully, this will be the only time I have to do/deal with this."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've had several YIs before of varying levels and used brand name and generic of Monistat. I've used 1 day, 3 day, and 7 day. NEVER have I had pain, burning, itching like this upon application. I wonder if there is some problem with this batch and it should be recalled? Hopefully, someone will look into this further. Some discomfort is normal, but this is way beyond what I've ever experienced and feels abnormal."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I got the itch and burn, so my husband, who is an OB, told me to get some Monistat. Got the prefilled applicators for the 3-day treatment, also came with some cream to put on the outside as well. Day one, I was already itching and burning, then the cream got in there and oh, good grief! It felt like the fires of Mordor in there!! I was pacing and fanning, and my poor husband was trying to figure out why it was doing this - finally just offered to pour me some wine. I tried to put the cream on the vulva to see if it could help, and it got WORSE even when I didn't think it possible. I ended up trying to get everything out and off, and after an hour was back to the regular itch and burn of a YI and thankful for it. Did NOT take day 2 or 3's."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Usually, every time I take antibiotics, I get a YI, and usually use the Monistat 1-day treatment kit. But this time I opted for the 3-day treatment. At first, when I inserted the egg, it was fine. Nothing burned or itched. I then used the cream, and it all seemed fine. Then, as I was falling asleep 15 minutes later, I started to experience this intense itching sensation from the inside of my vagina. And then it started to slightly burn. The feeling was so uncomfortable I started to cry. I figured since I had used it before, it would be ok. But I don't know what went wrong this time. After around 2 hours, it went down a bit but was still uncomfortable."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "JUST GO TO THE DOCTOR!! It is currently 5:43 am, and I've been awake for about 45 minutes now with a bag of ice on my lady parts, so it can somewhat release the itch and burn. I should have read the reviews on this cream, so I advise you to just go to the doctor to get medicine - this is awful. I do not know what to do besides stay in pain... Ladies, just go to the doctor, I beg of you, so you do not have to be in so much discomfort!!!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Absolutely terrible! I'm lying in bed crying uncontrollably in agony! This is absolutely terrible, it burns so much! Who in their right mind thought this terrible thing was a good idea? My dad got me the three-day treatment box, and tonight was my first dose. Immediately after inserting the tube, I already felt discomfort, but within 1 or 2 minutes, I was sobbing and screaming in pain. My vagina, internally as well as externally, feels like I shoved a million needles in it. Do not use this product. My infection had been going down, and I figured that some medicine like this would finish getting rid of it, but no way will I apply this ever again. I'd give it a -10 out of 10 if I could. Absolutely horrible. $20 wasted on a useless product."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I wasn't irritated badly, but once I went and bought 7-day Monistat, as soon as I put it in, I went to burning like hell. I was very uncomfortable, then about an hour later it started to calm down. But I am going to continue to use it till my 7 days are up. It's a good product, everybody's body is different. Putting ice on it didn't solve anything because my inside was on fire."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "So, a few years ago I got a YI and decided to use the 1-day treatment. I ended up in the emergency room and had to apply an anesthetic ointment for a week. Jump to this week, another YI. I went for the generic brands, but Walmart was out of stock, so I figured the 7-day treatment would be more manageable. Day 1, I cried. I figured, hey, first day, I'll roll with it. Day 2, I rolled in pain, day 3, same thing. I started to think I had another condition. The thought didn't occur to me that the thing I was using to treat my condition was making it worse. I'm persistent, so I didn't quit. While researching, I discovered reviews that listed the same symptoms and realized it was the stupid cream. Day 6, I was, man, I don't know how much more of this I can take. Used it, ran to bed, and waited for the discomfort and pain, it didn't disappoint. 1 more day to go, and I'm thinking about quitting."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used Monistat 7 day for the first time a few months ago. The burning and itching was bad (okay, horrible), but not unbearable. After the fourth day, I was pretty sure my YI cleared up, but went ahead and finished the remaining days of medication. This time around was no different. Last night was day 1 and there was a lot of burning and itching (eventually had to get in the shower to get some of it out), however, this morning, I feel 20 times better than I have this past week. The medication is beyond uncomfortable, but it’s not unbearable. And it does work. For someone who can’t shell out 100+ dollars for a doctor's visit, this is the next best thing."
