For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Holy moly!!! I had no idea this product burns as bad as it does. I was still under the impression my yeast infestation was getting worse, not realizing that this medication I inserted was causing so much discomfort. I am squirming and screaming that I’m in so much pain. I noticed after taking antibiotics I had gotten a little itchy down there, but I didn’t know it would go from 8 to 10,000. I’ve tried the cream. I tried rubbing the honey pot vulva cream to soothe it. I’m having trouble sleeping and behold, I was laying down commando style, and of course, the leakage gets everywhere, so not only is my vagina on fire, but my pearl is begging for mercy. Lord, hear my prayer and everyone who submits a review. Please invent something better. Amen."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Every time I’m on antibiotics, no matter what, I end up getting a yeast infection. Even when I take the pill that comes along with the antibiotics to prevent a yeast infection, I still end up with one. I don’t remember in the past having this much pain, maybe the formula has changed or something? The cream used to be somewhat soothing... Now... my area is on fire, and I have an ice pack pressed up against myself. So far, it seems to have been about an hour that the pain has been constant. It sucks that women have to go through so much, not only do I have an infection and had to take antibiotics for two weeks, but I am suffering with a yeast infection also, and then the pain and fire from the medicine to correct that problem. This has got to be fixed."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It works, but it hurt so bad I had to rinse it out. I was yelling, it hurt so bad. I have sensory processing, and that alone made this horrendous. I feel like I have a million of the worst mosquito bites in there and have a chemical burn. This should be illegal due to how badly it hurts. I felt like I was going to pass out due to the severe itching and pain, and I honestly wish I would've. I'm going to find a safer alternative."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I tried Monistat 1 for mild YI a few times. It worked a little bit, but YI didn’t completely go away. So after the research, I wanted to give Monistat 3 a try. As soon as I put that cream into my vagina, I started feeling a burn like lava. It hurts so bad, as if someone sprayed acid directly into my vagina every second. I am still tapping my vagina while I’m reading these reviews. Wish I had read this before I tried it. Do not buy this product."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am currently on day 3 of Monistat 3 and am in the worst pain ever. I was able to finally fall asleep last night after 800 mg of ibuprofen finally kicked in after something like 2.5 hours of pain. I thought tonight wouldn't be as bad, but oh my goodness, 2 hours have gone by and I'm worried if my vagina will ever recover from this. I will say that I woke up okay after day 2 and didn't have any discharge all day...but treatment 3. Ouch! I hate this and will never ever endure it again. He can just wait for the full 7 days next time!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had a very severe case of vaginal yeast infection. I first tried using the cream insert of 3-day Monistat, followed all the directions, and spent 3 nights in horrific pain and woke up with a really swollen vagina. The anti-itch cream only increased the pain. Then I switched to the ovules. Immediate difference!!!! No pain, no mess, easy application. Leakage basically gone. Soooooo much nicer!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I have had many YIs, and I usually go to the doctor to get prescribed medication for it. This time I didn’t want to go to my gyn, so I got Monistat 3. I’m familiar with the applicator and pill for it. First time using Monistat 3, and it was painful. My vagina was burning, on fire, and itchy for an hour. At first, I thought I was going to die. I just laid down in pain, and it stopped in another hour. I don’t feel pain, I actually feel relief. Hopefully, in the morning, I don't have to use it anymore, but I do feel it’s doing its job. I won’t get this again, though."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm in the first trimester of my pregnancy and developed a horrible yeast infection. Everything was itching, and I couldn't find any relief. After noticing yellowish, thick white vaginal discharge on my panties, I called my OB/GYN asking what I should do. They recommended buying the over-the-counter Monistat 3-day treatment. Night 1, I looked at the directions, which indicate 'inserting the suppositories right before bed as far as you could insert.' So, that's what I did. I inserted the ovule, used the external cream, placed a pad on, and went to bed. Woke up the next morning able to pee without the horrible itching I once felt, and my external itching had decreased. Day 2, I repeated the directions and woke to minimum itching on Day 3. Tonight, I inserted my last dose and hopefully will be yeast infection-free. The Monistat ovules and insert wand are a bit intimidating but caused no pain or burning, but they worked well, and I had no problems."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "You may be reading these comments because, like many of us, you were horrified by the burning and itching the medicine caused. If that is the case, I wanted to let you know that the one thing that helped me get to sleep was pressing a cold washcloth against the outside vulva area (NOT WIPING), then gently laying down and trying very, very hard not to move. Moving, wiping, and itching will make the pain and irritation even worse. Of course, try to get as much of the cream out if you can't bear it. I only suffered through one night/day of it, then, thankfully, I was able to get a Diflucan pill. If Monistat doesn't make your symptoms worse, then count your lucky stars!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used this once before with no problem. This time, however, is horrifying. I'm 6 months pregnant and was told to use this for this YI. The burning itch is driving me crazy. I'm over an hour in pain and have used the wipes, cold shower, peeing, anything to get this stuff out of me! I'm praying 1 dose of the 3 days will do some good because there is no way I can do another night of this. I'm writhing in pain so bad the baby inside me is upset and kicking like mad! I'm curled up with an ice pack in my crotch, after cleaning out all I could, having taken 2 extra strength Tylenols, with very little relief yet! Definitely not using this again! This is supposed to help the infection from hurting the baby, but so far it's making it worse by not being able to get rid of the itch and the burning!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "People are not kidding when they say that this product itches and burns!! Within half an hour of inserting the cream, my itching intensified to a whole other level to a point where it was almost unbearable. The only way to somewhat soothe it was by applying jojoba oil and tea tree oil topically. Then, I woke up multiple times in the middle of the night, not to itching, but an extreme burning coming from inside. It was the worst pain I had ever experienced. It kept me up tossing and turning all night. The next morning, it was back to the severe itching again. Much worse than before I had started the treatment. I couldn’t bear to take a second dose of this treatment, so I returned it and bought Canesten 3-day combo pack instead. Much better!! A tad bit more expensive, but totally worth it."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Literally in tears in a fetal position because the burning is so bad! I had a YI and got 1 day, didn’t burn so bad, but it didn’t work. I then started to eat a lot of yogurt and put some down there too. It got better, but I was scared it was just easing the symptoms, so I bought the 3 day. The pain with this first dose is worse than I’ve ever felt."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I usually read reviews before I try anything, but I figured that it would work the same as the prescription one that the doctor gives for a yeast infection. Boy, was I wrong, as soon as I inserted it, not even five minutes later, it was burning and itching (like an itch that you can't scratch). It hurt so bad that I literally tried to wash it out and then just put some yogurt down there, and it sort of relieved the pain."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have used Monistat 3 two or three times within the last few months. The first time I tried it, I felt severe itching and burning down in my vagina. I was tossing and turning in pain, and I felt like I needed to go to the hospital and get all of the cream washed out. I felt as if hundreds of mosquitoes bit me down in my lady area, and at the same time, I felt as if a fire had started down there too. However, after a couple of minutes, the pain started to ease down, and I took an Advil so I could sleep. The pain was terrible and caused a great amount of discomfort at first, but I continued to buy the product because at the end of the three days, my yeast infection had either healed or healed a couple of days after. However, I think I may try using another yeast infection medicine, hopefully not as painful. So before using Monistat, I recommend you should try another product or brand first."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I wished I had read these reviews earlier. I'm on day 2 of the 3-day treatment, and I cannot sleep because of the pain and itchiness. I thought there was something wrong, so I googled 'Monistat and itchiness' and found this site. If I had known it was going to be this bad, I would have gone to the doctor. They should recall this product. Something is not right with it, it shouldn't hurt like this. Don't waste your money!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Day 1 treatment caused horrible itching, and I couldn't fall asleep. In the morning, I was burning and now sore from this medicine. Never had this experience with over-the-counter treatment before. Will be getting something else today to finish treatment, they should recall this 3-day treatment. It shouldn't make you feel worse."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It has been over 10 years since I've had a YI. I got M3 because I've used M7 before and never had a problem. I didn't want to go through the whole 7 days, so I chose the 3-day. The worst mistake of my life! I used the first tube, went to bed as suggested, and immediately started burning and itching so bad I was in tears. I will never ever use Monistat products again. I will be calling my doctor in the morning for Diflucan. I did feel a little better the next day from the product and the infection, but I will not be doing day 2 of the cream. The pain is just too unbearable. I checked the ingredients, and it said benzoic acid, cetyl alcohol, and stearyl alcohol. Those 3 ingredients are enough to let me know this should not go inside my vjay-vjay! NEVER AGAIN!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I honestly feel so bad for all the bad experiences. Reading all of them makes me cringe. I am very familiar with yeast infections, I usually get them when I'm on a lot of antibiotics. So, when I became very itchy and uncomfortable, I knew it was a yeast infection. The pain was awful, and I finally bought Monistat 3. I used the first application last night, and today I feel no itch or discomfort. So far, so good!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Monistat 3. I usually use Monistat 7 but tried the 3. Figured if I got through the first night, that nights 2 and 3 would have to be easier. Nope. Not slightly. Night 2 was as bad as night 1, pain in my who-ha for hours and hours. Finally, night 3 was not as bad as night 1 and 2. Like, still burned to tears but not as bad. Comments helped me through. I’m doing Monistat 7 now because Monistat 3 didn’t completely cure it. It helped but still not well."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It’s day 1, and I’ve never been in more pain in my life... this is the most unbearable feeling I’ve felt. Not sure how something this terrible can be sold at the stores... there has to be a better way because I’m literally pulling my hair out in pain."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ok... The burning and itching are insane! I feel like I just got an acid blast in my vagina! It’s been years since I’ve had a YI and have used Monistat 3 in the past, but don’t remember it ever being this painful. I just read all the reviews, and now I’m afraid to pee! Although everyone on here is in pain, some of the reviews are pretty funny. How I’m laughing while my vagina is on fire is beyond me. It must be to keep from crying."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took an antibiotic and had external itching-never internal. I bought the medicine and held off a few days, thinking the itching would stop. I tried the internal meds last night before bed. I used the tube and said, 'OK, this doesn't burn,' then I stood up. The pain and burning were so bad that I was nearly screaming. Thank God my fiancé wasn't home. I was jumping and then on the floor trying to soothe the pain. After laying down didn't help, I ran to my bathroom and began to pour water on myself and tried to wash the medication out. After 40 minutes of pain, it subsided enough to close my legs and waddle to bed. Another 2 hours went by, and then it was better (enough to relax and try to sleep). I will not be using the other 2 doses or the cream. I've never had issues with Monistat in the past. This was a horrible experience."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "A few years ago, I got my first yeast infection when I was about 16. I had no idea what was happening for about 2 weeks, and once I told my mom, she brought me Monistat 1-Day. I took it and woke up the next day burning and itching and in so much pain. I went to the bathroom, and my whole vagina was so swollen. I freaked out and went to the doctor, and everything got cleared up, and I swore I would never use Monistat again. Now I woke up, and I know immediately what I have, but I caught it very quickly, so the pain was about a 3/10. I purchased Monistat 3-Day because it's New Year's Eve, so I can't go to the doctor. I have not felt any discomfort with this product, and I'm on day 2, and it feels like it is clearing up. I think the faster you catch it, the less pain you will have while using this product."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I chose this one because it’s only for 3 days, which is shorter than the 7-day. I’m on the second day, and my bits are on fire. I wouldn’t recommend this to anybody. Currently crying from coochie pain, typing this."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've had a yeast infection for about 5 days, bought this product today. After 5 minutes of inserting the cream, my vagina feels like all my symptoms intensified! Burning, itching, and pain! I don't even want to imagine the next couple of days; this product was expensive."
