For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have been on antibiotics off and on for the last couple of months, definitely not my first yeast infection. I've never used Monistat before, so I figured I would try it since it's Saturday and I can't go to the doctor till Monday. Used the cream right before bed and didn't last two minutes, literally couldn't take it, the burning and itching and pain. Miserable, it took me over an hour to remove the cream and I'm still uncomfortable! I will never buy this again, I'll just be uncomfortable till Monday. I don't suggest anyone purchasing this product, especially if they have a history of sensitive skin or anything. I'm not sure why they would continue a product that everyone is having the same result."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I gave this product a 9 purely on the fact that it did, in fact, hurt like hell using it the first night. It was VERY uncomfortable the first treatment: burning, itching, painful. Remember, I would assume the amount of pain that's caused is based on how bad the infection is. Being pregnant (24 weeks), I tried to wait it out without medication and couldn't. A few things to mention... The first night's treatment sucks, it's uncomfortable, painful, and lasts a little while (maybe an hour), but it does subside and you're able to sleep. Because I'm pregnant, I do wake up at least twice a night to pee, and the first wake-up I had there was no more pain, itching, or burning (RELIEF). That was worth the uncomfortable hour I had. STICK WITH IT, trust me!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I do NOT recommend this product! I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased Monistat 3. Minutes after inserting the product, you start to feel the burn. The pain from this product is worse than the actual yeast infection. The pain was unbearable, it felt like someone was pouring boiling water in my vagina. It also itched and stung. The pain lasted for about 45 minutes. I was kicking and screaming and crying. The cream and wipes that come with the product did NOTHING to help. I resorted to a freezing cold ice pack, which only helped a little. I ended up calling my doctor and getting a pill prescribed. I would not wish the pain from this product on my worst enemy. I do have damage from this product and hope it recovers."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "My pain wasn’t unbearably bad before using this product, but after 1 minute of inserting this, my vagina was screaming. I was unable to fall asleep, and now it’s almost 3 am as I write this. Worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life, the YI was doable. This I do not recommend unless you have an extremely high pain tolerance and don’t mind pulling an all-nighter to cry over your throbbing vagina. I’ve toughed it out, though. After an hour and a half, the pain is very slowly going away. I better wake up tomorrow at least half cured, or day 2 is not happening."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Oh my goodness, I just took the insertion, and I’m in so much pain. This is my first time taking it. After only twenty minutes, I wanted to die, I felt like my vagina wanted to throw up. I don’t know if this is normal, but why is it like this!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have had a YI for about a week. My friend recommended I should try Monistat. I went to Rite Aid today and bought it for $18! I just used it about 40 minutes ago, and as soon as it was done, it started burning worse than it was before. I am in so much pain now. I wish I would have read these reviews before I used this product. :("

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "First time using this. Usually buy the generic and never experienced pain like this. I feel like if I spread my legs, fire is going to shoot out of my vagina. It's only my first night, and I don't know if I will be brave enough to insert more tomorrow night."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is my first time ever getting a yeast infection, and I didn’t really feel like going to the doctor's office, so I googled ways to clear it up at home, and it said Monistat 3 would do the job. I went and bought some, thinking, oh, this should be fine, which it was fine until I got done inserting the cream, and my whole vagina caught on FIRE!! The pain is so bad you can’t even follow the directions and lay down because all you want to do is get whatever you put in and get it out. By far, the worst experience ever."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "After being on antibiotics, I developed a YI. After being unable to find clotrimazole at any of my local drugstores, I bought the generic version of this with the purple cap. I've used this product before without issues... that was then. This time, shortly after inserting the cream, I felt intense vaginal burning. By intense, I mean it felt like a fire and fire ant bites. The burning was so intense I couldn't feel any itching. I resisted the urge to rinse it out and suffered all night with little sleep. The next day, my vagina felt sore and swollen, which was not how it felt from the YI, only after using this product. I did not use any further doses of this. Instead, I called my doctor and got the Diflucan pill. Spare yourself, use an alternative."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!! I don't know what's going on because I've used the 3-day before and have never had issues. They need to recall this stuff, seriously. I have never been in so much pain in my life. I thought I would have to go to the hospital. I took 2 long showers, put Desitin on (Godsend!!), powder, took Aleve, and laid on my bed with my fan on for relief. AWFUL. I don't know if they changed their formula or not, but I know that I will never use it again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I can't say if it works or not because I just put it in about ten minutes ago, but it burns so bad. I thought something was wrong and that I needed to go to the ER. Once I read most of the comments, I've realized that most people die in pain when they use it. Currently soaking in the tub, but still in a crap ton of pain. Won't be using this again because it hurts so bad."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Why, oh why didn't I read these threads before I did this to myself? I had the very beginnings of a YI. Slight itching, a little discomfort. I decide to go buy Monistat 3. I make sure not to get an off brand that is cheaper. It's Monistat, and I've heard of it a million times. Women all over the world use it, right? Oh my gosh! What a terrible mistake. I hate the makers of this 'medicine'! I see people are saying it works after enduring the pain. I agree. It's only been 30 minutes since I lathered my insides with this lava. But this cream is melting the top layer of my vagina off, with it goes the YI. So, yeah, I guess it would work. Ugh. I am hating life right now, and after this heinous crime, I shouldn't even be allowed to have a vagina anymore... please, somebody, how long does this pain last? Somebody, anybody... how do I make it stop????!!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is the worst experience I've ever had with this stuff, and I refuse to finish the last day of the 3-day pack. My hooha is so swollen I wouldn't be able to fit the insert inside even if I wanted to! And the burning is unbelievable! Last night, after inserting the 2nd application, I was in so much pain I had to sleep with an ice pack between my legs and seriously contemplated going to the ER. I will tell anyone who asks to run far, and I mean far away from this 'medication'. I can't walk and have to go to work and about my daily life like I'm normal, and all I want to do is curl up in a ball and cry because this pain/burning is up there near childbirth."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Okay, so first night taking the 3-day Monistat, for the first hour and a half there was the worst feeling, but after it passed, I was relieved, no more burning or itching. I was able to fall asleep. I woke up for day 2, completely fine, but I know it couldn't be all gone. I recommend drinking a lot of cranberry juice and taking Aveeno oatmeal baths. On the 3rd morning, I'm in pain again but just itchiness, not really much burning. I take my last dose tonight, hopefully it works."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is horrible. Instantly burning! Pain is much worse than the yeast infection symptoms! Is there a recall on this? Find it very strange that so many people are having issues. Used Rx and other Monistats in the past and never had issues."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've used this product before with only mild discomfort on the first use. I used it two nights ago and was extremely uncomfortable, itching and burning like crazy, with no relief. I had heard that the first application was sometimes worse, so I used another dose last night, and WHOA NELLY, I was up at 2 am in extreme pain, in the shower trying to wash it off of me. Is there something wrong with this particular batch?"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "JUST GO TO THE DOCTOR!! It is currently 5:43 am, and I've been awake for about 45 minutes now with a bag of ice on my lady parts, so it can somewhat release the itch and burn. I should have read the reviews on this cream, so I advise you to just go to the doctor to get medicine - this is awful. I do not know what to do besides stay in pain... Ladies, just go to the doctor, I beg of you, so you do not have to be in so much discomfort!!!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is my first time ever getting a yeast infection. I got Monistat yesterday and used the first dose right before bed. I thought getting into bed a few minutes later would be fast enough… but y’all, I was so wrong. I seriously considered driving myself to the ER. I’ve never felt burning and pain like that in my life. It felt so much worse than the actual infection. I was beyond uncomfortable for a good hour. The only thing that got me through was this forum. All day I was dreading having to use the second dose tonight and going through that pain again, but it’s actually so much better! What I did differently was to lay down immediately after the cream insertion. I mean like not even 5 seconds of standing. I also made sure to have an ice pack and a TV show on to distract me, just in case. I’ve been laying here now for over 2 hours and I haven’t felt any burning at all. I just hope that means the medication is working. Keep pushing through the pain. This stuff works!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’ve tried all the Monistats 1-3 and 7, they all do the same thing: burn and itch 100% worse than before I put the cream inside. This product is not cheap and should be removed. Don’t waste your money, it’s not worth the pain and itching you get from it."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm 18 y/o, this is my first yeast infection. I didn't go to the doctor, but I read the symptoms online and diagnosed myself to have a yeast infection, so I went down to the drug store and bought Monistat 3-day treatment. I didn't experience any severe pain or burning like any of the other ladies (which, by the way, is why I was hesitant about getting any Monistat product). But today was the 3rd day of the treatment, and the initial pain and itchiness from the yeast infection are almost gone. I still have some damaged skin around my vagina that hurts, but hopefully it'll be gone soon. I'm content with the product, and I'm glad I didn't listen to the people saying they went through extreme pain (I wonder why it is that some people experience severe burning)."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've used this product before, I always get yeast infections when I have to take antibiotics. But oh my gosh! My vagina is on fire, I swear. I cried for an hour and screamed into my pillow. I can't sleep, and I have an ice pack between my legs. My stomach hurts so bad! This is worse than the yeast infection itself. I really hope it works. I also hope this melatonin kicks in soon so I can just pass out. I should have just gone to the doctor because I'm in so much pain."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I should've read the reviews before using this product because here I am at 2 a.m., yesterday, it was 3 a.m., and I'm awake! I woke up feeling like my vaginal area had been set on fire! To be honest, I felt more relief before I started using this! I'm in so much pain that I'm considering going to the ER. I do not recommend this product at all."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Okay, listen - do you want to crave the sweet release of death? Do you enjoy sending your vagina to the fires of hell? Do you want to physically endure the unbearable pain of the patriarchy? Then this medication is just right for you! Does it work? Sure. Is it worth the experience? Definitely not. I would rather have a yeast infection for the rest of my life than ever spend another night with that burning wand inside of me. I'm not even being dramatic. The pain and itching that come with these applicators is otherworldly and will leave you crying in a cold bath trying to wash your insides out. All I can say is if this was a medication for men, it would NOT be on the shelves. On a more positive note, the external cream is relatively helpful. It brings itching down from a 7 to a solid 4.5, which is tolerable. You'll be able to sit through a conversation without what would otherwise be impossible."
