For Vaginal Yeast Infection "First time ever experiencing YI. My Dr. prescribed a 3-day treatment, but when I went to pick it up, they said my insurance doesn't cover it and it'll cost $375. Should've seen the look on my face. The pharmacist told me to just grab the over-the-counter ones. 1st day treatment had me SCREAMING, CRYING to GOD for help, JUMPING around all over my room like a swarm of fire ants found its way up my vagina! My brother checked on me to see what was going on. I yelled at him, saying, 'I HATE BEING A WOMAN!' And he just slowly backed up out of the room and closed my door. My 2nd day wasn't too bad. I was more prepared after finding/reading up on these reviews. I popped some ibuprofen, 2 probiotics, and 2 oxy that I had left over from a past surgery. Passed out like a baby. The next day, the itching and burning wasn't a big issue. The YI kind of cleared up. I'm on my 3rd day today. Did the same exact steps as day 2. Writing this review before I slowly doze off."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "My husband went and got me the three-day Monistat tonight because I have been having some really bad itching. Well, I inserted it and went to bed. Less than 10 minutes later, I jumped out of bed in excruciating pain. I mean, the burning is soooooo unbearable, I am literally in tears. I sat over the toilet and started pushing and wiping with tissue and got a chunk of it out, but I'm still in much pain from the burning. I tried letting the cold shower run over and up into me, and that only helped a bit. What has happened to this brand? I have used this in the past, and all I ever felt was a bit mushy in my panties at night from the cream. I am now having mild cramps and just want to tear my whole vagina out and throw it in the garbage. I will NOT be using this again. Ever!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "WISH I COULD RATE 0 STARS. I've used Monistat 7 before, and it burnt my parts like hellfire, but I would gladly face that again rather than experience the absolutely UNBEARABLE itching that Monistat 3 caused. I'm glad to know that I am not alone in this experience."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I purchased the Monistat 3 simple cure, where it's just 3 pre-filled suppositories; no wipes or itch relief cream included. I purchased after 2 days of intense itching and throbbing, and I just used Day 1 about 10 minutes ago. I currently do not feel any pain nor itching, and I am extremely sensitive to any body washes or laundry detergents. I'll give an update tomorrow on if I made it through the night. I'm not going to lie, the reviews had me completely terrified, but I couldn't take the itching or throbbing anymore, so I decided to try it out. Wish me luck; so far I feel fine."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’m a diabetic for about 3 years, and I’ve literally had yeast infections 1, sometimes 2 times a month, and never have gone through hell like this. Mind you, I have a pretty high tolerance of pain. I’ve had pancreatitis, and this Monistat has caused burning and itching. I felt like I had red ants running all over and inside my vaginal region, which was intensely uncomfortable. I washed off immediately and put ice in a slightly damp towel and laid down. Still some intense itchy and burning, but not to the point I was shaking and crying. I will now for sure use the 7-day, no matter what event is happening. For those that can take it, I salute you. Just remember, ladies, there is always someone going through what you are. I wish I would have researched it."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I bought the Monistat 3-day combination pack. I inserted it last night, and literally 1 minute later, I was tossing and turning because my vagina was so damn itchy. It was barely itchy before I inserted the cream. I woke up this morning, and the itching had ceased, however, after I peed, it started all over again. Now I am laying down in bed in hope that this itching will go away. It is UNBEARABLE, the worst discomfort/pain I’ve ever felt in my vagina. This is completely ridiculous. I’m wondering if other people who had the same experience as me continued and did the full 3 days? I just want to trash it. I don’t want to go through this 2 more times. Ugh. Vagina on fire."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was about to call 911 the first night due to the fire, fire, fire! I also used the cream that came with it to relieve the itching, and now I am feeling worse. After reading all these comments, I am afraid of taking the next two night treatments. Afraid of what may happen later on tonight. There has to be a number or something to call and report this."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was scared to take this because of the reviews, but I experienced ZERO burning or itching from the medication. I had itching from the yeast infection, but not excessive itching that was said in the reviews. Everybody reacts to medicines differently, so don't completely write off trying Monistat just because of the bad reviews below. I didn't experience any of that, and I felt relief on the second day, and now it is completely gone. I took it at night and tried not to get up a lot until the morning. The ointment also somewhat helped."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "The first day I used the pre-filled applicator was quite painful. I burned and itched a lot down there. However, the second day didn't bother me at all. I'm guessing that the second application didn't hurt so much because most of the infection was eliminated. I'd use this product again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’ve used Monistat once before, when I was about 15. I remember it burning, but I thought I was a teenager overreacting. I used it again after 10 years tonight as I’m pregnant and can’t take the yeast infection pill. The first dose wasn’t terrible, but as it starts to leak out (which it’s supposed to do), it’s itchy, burns, and feels hot. I ended up washing all of mine out. I recommend to NOT USE the external cream, only the prefilled applicators. But, I’m not in lots of pain or crazy itching like most. If you can bear it, stick with it, and it will cure your infection. I plan to try my second dose tomorrow night, wear a pad, take some Tylenol, and go to sleep!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I would have rated this a negative 10. The symptoms of the yeast infection were easier to bear than the side effects from the medicine. How is this stuff on the market? Why are doctors still prescribing this stuff? The burning and itching lasted over two hours until I found the reviews on this site - suggesting I wash it off and apply a cold compress. This really helped. Insight Pharmaceuticals need to be sued for this."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Oh. My. Gosh.... That is all I have to say. I don’t think I would ever buy Monistat 3-day product again. I’m trying to take my mind off of the unbearable itchy and burning feeling I’m getting right now. I’m on my first night of the 3-day Monistat treatment, and wow, I have never felt anything more itchy. I applied the cream, and an instant bad burn and itch was even worse than before I applied the cream. I was worried that something was wrong, so I googled symptoms of the product, and here I am on the review page, reading the same reviews as I have of this product. Definitely would rather suffer through a mild YI than this crap."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This product was invented by someone awful to torture women. Besides the miserable itch caused by the evil hot pepper cream, I am completely covered head to toe in itchy red hives. I finished the 3-day treatment 2 days ago, and I can’t determine if the itching and burning I’m feeling is chemical burns, remaining yeast, or the allergic reaction I’m suffering. I want to scream all the time because my whole body itches from the hives. I’m popping Benadryl as often as I safely can. This is the worst ever!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "OMG, I'm so glad I found this site! Using Monistat made me worse, not better. And like someone else said, I did the research and read that with one dose it would stop the itching and burning. But it caused more itching and burning! I finally fell asleep, and didn't really think about it the next day, but the symptoms of YI were better. Silly me, I thought: well, it was probably more irritated last night, and I don't want it to come back, so I'll put in another dose. Terrible idea! This treatment is worse than the infection. Never again. Thanks for sharing, ladies, it really helped to know I wasn't alone or crazy!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This was my first time using Monistat 3, and it was initially shocking because it does burn and itch at first. You have to get through it, for me, at least the first night. But in the morning, I did notice a difference with my infection, my symptoms clearing up. It was not as bad the second day."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I cannot believe that I actually thought I could endure the agony of going through with all 3 applicators. You’d think, after 2 nights of inserting lava inside myself, I’d learn. Well, here I am about to die of itching and severe burning in bed, just waiting for this to all be over with. For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have been on antibiotics off and on for the last couple of months, definitely not my first yeast infection. I've never used Monistat before, so I figured I would try it since it's Saturday and I can't go to the doctor till Monday. Used the cream right before bed and didn't last two minutes, literally couldn't take it, the burning and itching and pain. Miserable, it took me over an hour to remove the cream and I'm still uncomfortable! I will never buy this again, I'll just be uncomfortable till Monday. I don't suggest anyone purchasing this product, especially if they have a history of sensitive skin or anything. I'm not sure why they would continue a product that everyone is having the same result."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I gave this product a 9 purely on the fact that it did, in fact, hurt like hell using it the first night. It was VERY uncomfortable the first treatment: burning, itching, painful. Remember, I would assume the amount of pain that's caused is based on how bad the infection is. Being pregnant (24 weeks), I tried to wait it out without medication and couldn't. A few things to mention... The first night's treatment sucks, it's uncomfortable, painful, and lasts a little while (maybe an hour), but it does subside and you're able to sleep. Because I'm pregnant, I do wake up at least twice a night to pee, and the first wake-up I had there was no more pain, itching, or burning (RELIEF). That was worth the uncomfortable hour I had. STICK WITH IT, trust me!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I do NOT recommend this product! I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased Monistat 3. Minutes after inserting the product, you start to feel the burn. The pain from this product is worse than the actual yeast infection. The pain was unbearable, it felt like someone was pouring boiling water in my vagina. It also itched and stung. The pain lasted for about 45 minutes. I was kicking and screaming and crying. The cream and wipes that come with the product did NOTHING to help. I resorted to a freezing cold ice pack, which only helped a little. I ended up calling my doctor and getting a pill prescribed. I would not wish the pain from this product on my worst enemy. I do have damage from this product and hope it recovers."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So, I’ve used Monistat 1 before, and I never had any issues. I did my first dose of the 3, and it made my itching something I just couldn't deal with. After reading some reviews, I chalked it up to the product moving down. Ladies, use this in your bed, with your knees to your chest, and for the love of God, do not get up or move around a lot afterwards! You better not get out of that bed if you want to keep your sanity, lol. As long as you don’t move, there won’t be any insane amount of burning or itching, maybe just a very mild increase in itching."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Sadly, I decided to search the side effects too late! I lay here with “fire in the hole” from Monistat 3. I can’t help but think that there must be an error in production due to these comments and the fact that I have used Monistat off and on throughout the years without ever burning and itching like this, and I’m 46. I would have recommended to my own daughter in the past, but since this experience, I would caution her and tell her to go to her doctor. Never again will I buy/use this product!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Using Monistat for the first time, I was very nervous. I was aware that there was going to be itching and burning. I brought the 3-day product with cream applications. The first day, it was itching deep down but was not unbearable. The itching was mild and lasted for about 20 minutes before I fell asleep. The second and third day as well were mild itching. No burning. I noticed results immediately. I feel better down there. The reviews, I can’t speak for everyone. But the itching wasn’t bad. I don’t recommend using this product again. I rather wait the time to go to the doctors."
