For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've had many, many yeast infections since I was a child, so I know what they look and feel like. I've gotten a Monistat 3 before, and it worked well, no bad side effects. For a few days, I had consistent itchiness and thick white discharge, so I decided to buy a Monistat 1 instead to cut corners. WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. My vagina was swollen, burning, and peeling. Took an Ibuprofen, the swelling and burning went away. That was 3 days ago. Still have a mild itch and raw skin on my vagina. Some women don't have such a sensitive vagina, I guess I do."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had a slight infection, so I bought the Monistat. They were out of my normal 3-day, so I grabbed 1 day. This was the worst decision I've made. It's been 10 hours, and I'm still in pain with no end in sight, and I'm good with pain. About 15-30 minutes after putting in the medicine, I was on fire. Seriously, the worst poison I've ever had. It felt like I was ripped all open, and then someone poured lava on it. I then started to have bleeding about 5 hours in from it. The medicine drips a little, and it was coming out pink due to blood from what I assume is burning my vagina insides. I'm also so swollen down there, my entire vagina is raw and swollen. I'm giving it another day before I go to the doctor, praying I wake up better...but seriously, please, please take this stuff off the shelf. This burn is not normal! Yes, they say it may burn more slightly, but not enough to actually make you bleed! I'm wondering if it gave me a chemical burn."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Absolutely the worst product ever. Thought maybe it would be better to use some, Valentine's is coming, and it would only take a day to cure. I put the product in and immediately regretted it. It started burning and itching right away. I ignored it and went to bed around 11:30. I have now been up since 2 am crying in immense pain while my lady parts are on fire and swollen to the gods. The only thing keeping me going is the reviews. Do not recommend."

"So please don't scratch, rub, or mess with your vag before using this product for your own safety. Anyways, I got this product for the first time. At first, it wasn't bad at all. I did it during the day and then took a nap. First mistake. So now I know why it says to take it at bedtime, because when you walk around, it leaks and makes you look like you pissed yourself. And as the day went on, I spent a night at my boyfriend's house. Big mistake. The itching and burning came back with a vengeance. OMG!!!! I tried to hide it from him, that I was scratching and legit dying. I could not wait to go home. And with all the scratching I did when I applied the anti-itch cream, Lord, please help me now!!! It burned so bad, and the Monistat got my vag swollen and in pain."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I 100% do not recommend this product. I’ve taken Monistat 3 before for YI, and I had no problem. This time I tried Monistat 1 because I had plans for the next couple of days, and I just wanted to get it out of the way. However, this medicine caused severe burning and inflammation to my vagina. I inserted it around 11 pm, and at 1 am, the pain woke me up out of my sleep. I tried taking a bath and applying a cool towel, but that didn’t work. I decided to go to the ER because the pain was unbearable. The doctor prescribed some medicine and advised me to never take this again because a lot of people experience the same reaction."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Stay away from the fire egg. I inserted before bed and woke up with horrible burning and swelling, so bad it felt like I had a flaming golf ball up there while my organs were simultaneously trying to claw their way out to escape. I was convinced I had some sort of prolapse. Just go to the MD. The copay and RX are nothing compared to this."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This was rough. Intense internal and external burning, itching, stinging, along with external swelling and discomfort. This lasted for about 4-5 hours, the first hour being the most intense by far. While these side effects persisted, I was not able to function or even walk. I can usually deal with pain and discomfort relatively well (I felt basically fine after giving birth twice), but this was debilitating. After reading other reviews, it seems that this is pretty common. While some people do not experience the intense burning that I did, I would not take the risk. I thought this would be faster and easier than getting a prescription and would provide some relief. Nope, awful, awful experience. Absolutely would never take this again under any circumstances."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ok, what is going on here?! This is without a doubt the absolute worst pain I have ever felt in my kitty. I had a YI about 6 months ago because I took antibiotics for a sinus infection. I used a generic 7-day ointment that was also for internal use. The only symptom I experienced with that was a dull soreness the morning after the first dose, I had no real issues. Well, I got another sinus infection, so again the antibiotics gave me a YI. I was supposed to be going on a camping trip this weekend, so I decided to use the 1-day Monistat as I didn't want to still have to be inserting over the weekend. My kitty is burning like Satan himself is in there. I am really hoping the burning stops soon because this is horrendous! My kitty is red and swollen and literally feels like it is ripping open around my vulva. I am lying down in agony, afraid to even stand up. Even if I wake up completely cured, I do not see myself ever using this again. Never, ever again!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I thought I would give Monistat a try since the last time I used it was a few years back... biggest mistake of my life. I just sprinted from my dorm room to the nearest shower to try and wash that fire egg thing out. About to email my professors and ask for h/w extensions because in all honesty... kind of hard to focus when your bean is literally swollen and burning. @ Monistat, for the love of God, fix the formula."
