For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Wow. Let me just say, that “white egg” is something else. I had a yeast infection about a week ago for the first time, and I decided to try an “at-home treatment.” Worst idea ever, let me tell you. Monistat 1 is one of the stronger ones, and oh, sis, it sure is. I inserted that egg in my vagina pretty far up there. The first hour was fine, I actually felt soothed and less irritated. Then, hour two and holy, you better expect to stay up all night because there's no way you can escape the pain. I felt like red ants were climbing through my whole vagina. The next morning, I felt the same pain but less intense, and it finally went away after 2 days of treatment. The only thing that kept me sane that night was reading these comments all night. They were hilarious. But it’s really not funny when you're going through it. Note to self: go to the doctor and get a prescription!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It’s 3:32 am right now, I am on fire and can’t sleep! I woke up at 2:30 am to go pee, and I guess some of the cream started to leak out 'cause I am burning down there. (I inserted the egg around 10:40 pm right before bedtime.) My doc recommended this awful over-the-counter fire hazard (my doc is male. Go figure.) I wish I had read the reviews before inserting that awful egg inside myself! My irritation from YI was a lot better and tolerable than this horrible medicine! Don’t get me started on the cream that is “supposed to” relieve irritation! That cream is most likely made with Carolina Reaper (hottest pepper)! I hope this horrible feeling goes away soon because I have family coming over tomorrow, and I am not sure how I am supposed to function with my V on fire. I agree with all of you, ladies, this stuff should come off the shelves. Monistat does the opposite of what it is supposed to do."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It works, but holy mother of God, this stuff itches and irritates like crazy... for the first little while. Shortly after inserting it, it starts itching/irritating like crazy. I suggest just laying down for as long as you can stand it (about an hour), and then get up to pee. When you do, a great amount of the Monistat will leak out of the vagina. Clean yourself up, take a deep breath, and prepare to feel much, much better in about 15 minutes. Not all cures are pleasant. Suck it up. This stuff works."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "To begin with, I am very sensitive to all skin products. And unfortunately, I didn't read these reviews before inserting the damn Monistat egg thing. The worst thing I could have done!!! I was fine until the casing of the egg dissolved... Then it was FIRE!!! I wanted to tear my damn vulva and vagina off! I'm sitting in a bath now at 7:30 pm on a Saturday as my husband makes dinner because I can't stand still! This thing has me cursing like a sailor! I had been treating with coconut oil and was feeling much better until I inserted this little egg of a thing! I thought this might just kick this YI out for good.... I will NEVER use this product again! And yes, it should be pulled! It's absolutely awful!!! All I wanted to do tonight was enjoy a relaxing dinner with my hubby. Instead, my vagina is on FIRE!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Wow. Hour one, I was feeling fine... decrease in YI symptoms. Happy. Hour two? Burning, blazing fire, an inferno. Where do the flames come from? I was wailing, spread bald eagle in front of my AC. I took painkillers. I gently laid some wet paper towels. Nothing. Finally fell asleep after two more hours and lots of pain. It is now day two, and I’m still irritated (not as bad, but worse than my YI). According to other reviews, it should calm down in uhhh about a day or two but I don’t know. Just go to the doctor. I’m begging you. Just go to the doctor. Your copay and medicine price mean nothing in the face of this California forest fire. 0/10. Save yourself."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Do not use this product ever! I normally use Monistat 3, but vacation starts tomorrow, so I tried Monistat 1, thinking it would be better. My crotch is on fire! No amount of spread eagle with a cold wet cloth is making this go away! I would rather have a raging yeast infection than have injected this acid into my vagina."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Took the Monistat, and the first hour was really irritated, but I took some ibuprofen and felt much better. Got worried at one point when, after about 3 hours, I noticed a lot of the egg had kind of melted out of me. But I woke up this morning and haven’t had any irritation or burning :)"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "OMG, so I've taken the 3-day and 7-day Monistat in the past, no problem. My story: So after taking some antibiotics for 10 days, I had a visit from the YI monster. I took the 1-day, and holy hellfire. I woke up feeling like Satan took up a vacation home in my lady parts. I tried the flipping cream that came with it too, and nope, FIRE DOWN BELOW! I finally read below about a woman being told Desitin diaper rash cream from her doctor, and at this point, I would put tiger's blood on my burrito if it would stop this holy hellfire. Welp, after literally sitting in the shower for 20 minutes, my awesome partner went out and got me Desitin, and that worked. I think the combination of going in the shower and putting the Desitin cream on afterward helped. I even took 2 Advil. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. Unless you want to feel like napalm hit your va jay jay and its neighbor."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Felt symptoms of YI coming on (irritation, swelling, and slight discharge). Woke up the very next day with a full-fledged YI. Couldn’t get ahold of my dr right away, so I did something VERY desperate and purchased Monistat 1. This little ball of fire fury is the worst, most lethal thing I think I have ever come across in my life. I went from having a YI to having the fiery depths of lava bubbling inside of my lady bits. It looks like I gave birth again and hurts to walk/sit. Did my best to remove it all after the burning intensified, but I’m still suffering after a whole 24 hours. Not worth the stress, trouble, money, and it does absolutely nothing but make things 1000x worse. Just call your gyno and ask for Diflucan or another prescription option because OTC YI treatment is NOT the way to go."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’m eighteen and just had my first yeast infection due to an antibiotic. While the YI irritation is... irritating, it's NOTHING compared to the torture that you can experience if you use M1. Thirty minutes in, the itching increased. Thinking this was normal, I did an internet search for reviews. By the time I realized my mistake, I was too far gone. I live in a dorm, and the pain was so bad I had to get to the showers. Showering helps, but staying in there forever isn’t an option. I read that an ice pack was helpful. But alas, I don’t have a freezer. And of course, there is nothing in the communal fridge. I ended up purchasing old-fashioned popsicles and am hoping to help another poor soul make a better decision - with two popsicles wrapped in paper towels between my legs. Long story short - love yourself. Don’t use this. But if you do, rinse and any form of ice pack you can get your hands on."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'll just discuss the repercussions of this OTC medicine. Without doing any research, I purchased Monistat 1 ovule, and I regret making such a big mistake. Twenty-four hours after using, I had severe swelling, soreness, itching, and irritation of the entire vulva. Indescribable pain when I urinated because my skin had ruptured in certain areas. I thought that I just had a resistant yeast infection, but after seeing my OB/GYN, I came to the realization I had an allergic reaction. She thought I had herpes based on my symptoms and an examination, but it's not possible because I'm married, and my husband and I have been faithful. I was basically bedridden for three days, in debilitating pain. It's been almost a week now and my 'lady business' is still healing."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I really wish I would have read these reviews before I tried this awful product, which was probably formulated and approved by men. I had a mild infection, just slight itching and irritation, so I figured I’d try Monistat 1 first before making a big deal out of it and to avoid racking up medical bills... Boy, was that the wrong decision. I inserted what I now assume to be the awful lava egg into my vagina at 11:30 pm. I fell into a deep sleep shortly after, only to wake up out of my slumber at 3:33 am in excruciating pain. The itchiness, irritation, and burning were now 1,000 times worse! I thought this stuff was supposed to help, not torture me! It felt like Lucifer himself unlocked the fiery gates of hell inside me. And there was nothing I could do to soothe it. I didn’t sleep at all, and I’ve been using ice packs and cold washcloths, but it barely helps. It’s now 9 am, and I’m not sure I can go to work today."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "DO NOT BUY. At first, there was absolutely no burning or itching. About two hours later, I was running to the bathroom to try to rinse it out! It is now 2:53 am and I have an ice pack between my legs. LITERALLY BURNING! I can’t keep still because it’s so irritating! My vagina is all red and swollen and I can’t sleep. For the love of vaginas, do not get this product. It’s absolutely miserable!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "OMG. Do not use this. I've never felt such burning and irritation in my life. I sat on a cold washcloth off and on all night. This really shouldn't be sold or should have some kind of serious warning. The relief cream that came with it did not help at all. This was a horrible experience."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have never had a Y infection as bad as this before. I was using coconut oil for a few days, and I noticed at night I felt worse. But definitely okay during the day. Maybe it was doing its job. After two days, my mom suggested this and said it’ll work ASAP. I inserted and applied topically before bed and cried. Just cried, I was in so much pain. The pain and itching have been intolerable. My husband had no idea what to do for me. I’ve been up all night tossing and turning, filled with anxiety about the side effects. It’s now 4 am, and I tried to clean it out and put coconut oil over it. I will never use this product again or recommend it. I feel worse, and now it’s so irritated down there... it’ll take longer now to heal."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was terrified to use this after reading the reviews. I had already inserted the egg before reading anything about it. The reviews were mainly 1/10, but I didn’t have the experience that those reviewers had. I was expecting it to burn and even feel like “fire ants,” as one person said. I went to bed about an hour after inserting it, and I slept through the night. There was a tiny bit of irritation before bed, but it didn’t hurt. If your yeast infection is really bad, I may suggest not using this because I think that’s why it hurt them more than others. If it’s really bad, I think the 7-day option would be best."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This was my first experience using Monistat 1, and this thing is a miracle. I see a lot of women saying it burned and caused irritation. Maybe the severity of the irritation really depends on how bad your yeast infection is. Don't worry too much about it and take some pain relievers! Taking some drugs with Monistat will seriously help the burning and ease some itching. I took it around 8 pm and slept through the whole night. The next morning, I experienced a little discomfort, but nothing unbearable. I am feeling much better, and the itching is gone! Definitely use this before your yeast infection gets too bad. Good luck, ladies."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Purchased Monistat 7 because I'm very sensitive. Certain soaps, colored rags, and draws give me a yeast infection. So I keep it just in case. It was mild, so I did 3 days. Day 1 I went straight to sleep, so it was cool. About 2-4 a.m. last night (day 2) I awoke to severe itching, without burning. I took a hot rag and went to work. Whatever they put in this cream will have you angry and irritable! This morning I was just about normal, but not fully. So tonight (day 3) I used it, and the itch was unbearable. I hopped right back in the tub with hot, hot water and splashed it there. When the itch calmed, I got out and didn't wipe away the remaining medication. I recommend this."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I took Monistat 1 at around 12 a.m. Wednesday night, and it’s now Monday morning, and I’ve been dealing with burning and irritation for the past 4 days. It stopped the mild itching, but I have sharp pain in my vagina. I’m leaving to go on a trip for Thanksgiving, so I need this to stop. How long did it take for the burning to stop for y’all? Google says typically around 7 days it leaves your body, but literally I need this GONE before I escort myself to the ER."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Had a yeast infection a couple of years back and used the 7-day treatment, it worked. Had another one during pregnancy and got a 1-day pill, and it worked. I have another one after birth and decided to use the 1-day treatment because I didn’t want to insert the thing in me over and over again. Day 3 going on and my symptoms have been gone ... loving this product so far. I recommend using a liner to catch the medication as it comes out ... didn’t irritate me like I thought it would because the other one didn’t."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I bought the generic brand this morning close to noon because it’s way cheaper and they’re the same thing. I took it right after, and man, about 4 or 5 hours later, the itching was HORRIBLE. I got a wet towel and held it there. The itching is insane, I'm throbbing down there, it hurts, and it’s very irritated. It’s worse than when I started. It’s been 12 hours, and I feel the same-no relief. We shouldn’t have to take something like this. I came here to see if I was the only one, and looks like I’m not. We should be able to get Diflucan OTC instead of this."
