For Vaginal Yeast Infection "The only thing getting me through this literal nightmare of a situation is reading these comments and knowing I’m not alone. I took Monistat 1 when I was younger and I’m not sure if my pain tolerance has lowered after childbirth, or if they changed the formula, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. Unless you want to be up at 2 am holding yourself with a wash rag trying to search ways to get the demon out of you."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used this product last night, and after about an hour, I was in severe discomfort. The burning was like nothing I experienced before, my skin down there was on fire, really painful. I can’t believe that a medication to treat itching and burning could be so abrasive. I eventually took OTC pain meds (ibuprofen and Tylenol) and a cold compress to get to sleep. Today is better, and the original itching is basically gone. But you really have to go through the fire to get to the relief. Hope the folks at Monistat will work on a gentler formulation that would be just as effective."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Stay away!! I used Monistat over a decade ago. Some reviews say that the burning is because it’s not a yeast infection. Untrue! This Monistat is a different formula, and whatever they put in it causes extreme burning! My labia minor and major burned in ways I cannot describe. The inflammation is not minimal! Please don’t purchase this product. On day 1, there was some mild discomfort and itching. Day 2 was by far the worst as the product began to slowly seep out, and I was up all night in pain and agony. Day 3, the “chunks” of the egg start to come out, and I finally felt relief. It is now Day 4, and there is some itching, but barely noticeable. Don’t use this product. Please! The FDA needs to investigate this."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was a bit skeptical about trying this one because of all the reviews saying it caused burning and itching worse than the infection itself. But I had the worst burning and itching sensation ever and didn’t have access to a doctor right away, so I had no choice. I was up all night because I was in so much pain. Then finally at 7 am, I went to Walmart to buy this product. I inserted the little egg at 7:43 am. And I put the cream everywhere on the outside. I instantly felt relief and was able to go to sleep. It’s now 5:16 pm, and I’m still feeling okay. Still a little discomfort, but a lot better than what I was feeling before. I read from the reviews it takes a couple of days for it to fully disappear, so hoping these next few days fly by."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "These reviews are crazy. I usually don’t do reviews, but I felt it was necessary to share my experience. So I had been diagnosed with BV and was prescribed antibiotics. After finishing the antibiotics, the itching and burning were still present. I researched to find that taking antibiotics could cause a yeast infection. I bought probiotics, and I also bought the Monistat 1. My yeast infection had just arrived, so I caught it before symptoms could get worse, so I didn’t experience burning or pain after inserting the ovule-just a little discomfort. I then applied the cream. It says it could take up to 7 days to cure. By the 4th and 5th day, I wasn’t experiencing any more burning or itching. It took some time, but it worked. I applied cream for 7 days just for assurance. I’m all better now. I’m also taking my probiotics daily to try and prevent any more infections trying to attack my precious vagina! Everyone’s different. Good luck!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Beware! This product makes you burn and itch like crazy down there. I bought the 1-day version, and honestly, I wish I didn't. It's like putting a burning ghost pepper in your lady bits. I've never been more uncomfortable. I had to take an Advil to numb the burning. I don't know how effective it is, since I just started it. Fingers crossed I wake up and bye-bye yeast infection."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Okay, so I feel a lot better after reading everyone’s comments - and I most likely will continue reading them until this horrible burning and discomfort ends! I inserted the egg around 7 pm last night and had no issue until waking up at 6 am with some of the most discomfort I have ever experienced down there! It is so extreme that it is all I can think about! My YI symptoms weren’t severe, and it was my first ever, so I didn’t think a doctor's visit was necessary—I am currently regretting that. Now, I am not laying here crying, but I have been up for hours with an extreme burning sensation researching when this is going to end. If it is more than today, I will need to go to a doctor. I do not recommend ever taking this. I know I will not."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I cannot believe this product is allowed to keep being sold. Within minutes of using Monistat, for feeling slightly itchy, now I feel like I am on fire, being bitten by a thousand ants. How can all of the reviews for a product be having similar horrible reactions and this product still be on the market?"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Antibiotics always give me a YI, but I never learn... I finished a round of Augmentin last Tuesday. On Friday, I felt a little itchy/burny on my outer vulva, so I requested a Diflucan script from my doc. Took the Diflucan Saturday morning. By Monday, everything from the rawness to the chunks had gotten worse, so Tuesday morning I set out to buy this little gem. Inserted at 9:30 a.m. Had to pee at 11:15 a.m., and that seemed to be the accelerant. Yes, it burns. Yes, it’s super uncomfortable. I had to leave work and come home. But by 2 p.m., I was chipper and burn-free. It’s now 11 p.m., and my lady bits feel about 95% back to normal. Granted, the Diflucan also probably helped that a bit. But nothing works like the ovule. I know it’s a “day or night” dose, but I do not recommend trying to be a daytime hero battling this egg internally. It’s a dose of medicine that they also sell spread out over three or seven days. Of course, it’s gonna be a lot more intense. But it WORKS."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I've had a yeast infection maybe 3 or 4 times. 2/4 went away by themselves. The first time I used Monistat 7 and felt fine. Today I bought Monistat 1 with the egg, and as I'm writing this in bed at 2:40 a.m., all I can think about is how much itchier it is! OMG. I just want to scratch. It's so uncomfortable, and I cannot fall asleep. When I used the 7-day, it worked. This one better work."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Well, this is my second time using Monistat. The first time, I had the cream, and it was so uncomfortable, but it worked after a week, and that was like 4 years ago. Now, this second time, I had made my mind up that I was going to try a home remedy, so I used apple cider vinegar, and that relieved the burning and itching. But I didn't feel like it was getting better quickly enough, so I just ended up buying the ovule pack, and I must say it's getting better. I had no problem with the insert, it was just the cream that you applied for the itching and burning. Oh my goodness, it burns, but remember, that's just because it's working. I feel so much better."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had no idea the reviews on this product were so negative. That was until I used it, and just like everyone else, here I sit with dramatically increased itching and burning. Now in the bath trying to soothe my vagina and distract myself from, at best, a very uncomfortable and at worst, truly painful experience. This sucks. Medicine should not make your symptoms worse! Why hasn’t the manufacturer changed the formula?"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am a diabetic. Was at the doctor for A1c results and mentioned that I had a yeast infection. She told me to buy Monistat. And so I did. Inserted the ovule or whatever that egg thing is called, and OMG, I thought fire was shooting out from down below. It has calmed down somewhat, so I think I can sleep, but I will NEVER buy this product again!!!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Yes, it burns, but for me it wasn't too bad. The instruction packet discloses that it also says to begin treatment before bedtime. I will accept having some discomfort from a medication that will make my vagina stop feeling like it did."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "After putting this in, I felt okay for a couple of hours, slight discomfort but nothing too bad. Around 4 hours later, the excruciating burning and itching started, I wanted to call 911. It was so uncomfortable and painful, I followed others' advice and took a Benadryl and some ibuprofen before trying to sleep. I also put a tampon in overnight to absorb this stuff because I needed to get rid of this feeling - and I will say that helped. Woke up today feeling okay - not 100%, but definitely nowhere near as bad as last night. That pain is not worth it - I would go with the 3 or 7 day or suck it up and call your doctor for fluconazole."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "When I inserted the ovule, it was so uncomfortable. It’s not tapered on the end, so getting it in is uncomfortable and kind of a challenge due to its shape. Then, after you do get it in, it burns like fire for hours. I finally fell asleep, though, and woke up, and I’m feeling much better down there. So, I think it worked. This was after 2 doses of Diflucan hadn't completely cleared it up. Hopefully, this will take care of things, lol."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Took the single dosage ovule last week and thought it had worked, but unfortunately, my yeast infection never really went away. I'm going to try the three-day suppositories and hopefully that will work. Years ago, the 7-day cream worked great but was just so uncomfortable and messy."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I tried this drug when I couldn't get into the MD close to a holiday. I saw it listed in an article for 'best OTC treatments' for YI and decided to give it a go. I read through the pamphlet and expected a bit of discomfort, but got much worse. At 9:30 pm, about 20 mins after inserting the ovule, I assume it broke, and I got this wave of pinpricks from my scalp to my toes, my HR increased and I got super lightheaded and cold like I was going to pass out. I immediately went to the bathroom trying to get the thing out. After the episode passed and I calmed down, I tried to go to sleep and let it pass, but continued waking up all night long with the same symptoms in waves but also including hot flashes and chills. The only thing I could do was stand in the shower and try to get it out with a washcloth. By 6 am, the lightheadedness had decreased, but the uncomfortable heat in the nether regions had set in. It wasn't unbearable heat, but I still felt like garbage the rest of the day. NEVER again!!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had burning and itch and cottage cheese discharge, so I bought Monistat 1. I inserted it at 9:30 a.m., and it’s almost 2:00 p.m. and I’ve been on fire ever since! I took a bath with baking soda that helped, but now I look like I am blistering outside my v-jj! It is seriously uncomfortable, and it’s the weekend! I’m not about to go to the ER or Urgent Care to a total stranger. I guess I’ll be up most of tonight in intense pain! Take this off the market!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I don't know why everyone calls it an egg when it's really a volcano waiting to erupt hot lava. After about two hours, I was on fire. I couldn't sit, I couldn't stand, I had to jump in the shower and use the handheld spray to try and power wash the medicine off. I took two Aleve and called my doctor, who prescribed Diflucan anyway. I wish I would have read the reviews here before I used it and called my doctor first. My husband is still laughing at me jumping around the house, yelling, 'I'm on fire!'"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Not as bad as I expected! I was a bit nervous because I read the reviews after I used it. I opted to use it at night and only insert about halfway up (the infection felt very focused towards the opening vs. having chunky discharge). Within a half hour, I definitely felt the more intense burning and itching. Having a head start on the reviews after already using it put me at ease a little - in my mind, it was working! I was able to fall asleep but woke up a few hours later with the same intensity of burn/itch. I went to the bathroom, reapplied the external cream, and hoped for the best. When I woke up, the burn/itch had subsided a bit but was still there. It was uncomfortable, and I was upset thinking after all that, the product didn’t even work! But about three hours later, the burning and itching (from the original infection) were practically gone! So if you can wrap your head around the potential added pain and plow through it, it’s all worth it in the end. Oh, definitely wear a pad!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is bad. I felt relief for about an hour after inserting this awful egg, the second I went to pee, my vagina lit on fire. I couldn’t walk straight, and every breath was a new intense itch. I can’t afford this pain and discomfort because I have a big day tomorrow, so ladies, pray for me and stay away from this. It’s literally a tunnel of fire inside of me right now."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It was 11 pm on a Tuesday night. I was sitting in my dorm room, getting ready for bed. I was nervous for my midterm and was also suffering from an uncomfortable, yeasty beast. I borrowed my roomie's one-day Monistat, which I had never taken before-hoping it would go away quickly in preparation for Halloween weekend. Little did I know, as I closed my eyes, the fiery red ants stole my soul. All of a sudden, I was flopping around my bed like a fish without water, trying to put the fire out. I am also basically blind, and I could not find my glasses by my bed. My imagination got the best of me. I was in the dark, wondering when the demons would go away. I fell off my bed onto the floor, crying, reaching for the nearest Tylenol pill in sight. I finally managed to get Tylenol and slowly inched my way back into bed as the ants kept running in. I shut my eyes and prayed to God for mercy. I was planning on being an angel for Halloween this weekend, but now that the devil egg is in me, I'll be the devil."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used the Equate generic brand of the Monistat one-dose egg, same exact dosage and ingredients compared to Monistat, along with the external cream that comes with the egg. Two hours after inserting it, an increase in burning and itching happened. It wasn’t unbearable like some of these reviews are saying. I was able to fall asleep still, and when I woke up the next morning, I had no itchiness in my vagina or yeast infection feeling. It’s been a week now, and my infection is gone. If you are sensitive and can’t handle an increase in uncomfortability, then I suggest you see a doctor. If you don’t want to end up with a bill, just use Monistat over-the-counter and be a little bit more uncomfortable for a few hours to kill off your yeast infection. 10 out of 10, I would recommend it to someone to use."
