For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Take this stuff off the shelves!!! Intense burning and itching, way worse than the infection itself, not to mention swelling. I can’t even sit down! Wish to heck I had read the reviews before I used it!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I bought Monistat 1 and read the reviews. I was so nervous to try this, but I really didn't want to go to the hospital, so I tried it anyway. The first hour was okay, but after that, oh man, it was pretty intense. Lots of itching and burning, and I just sat really still, and then when that was too much, I laid down very still... it lasted for a couple of hours, but to be honest, it was bearable. I mean, it did burn, but the infection kind of requires that, I think, lol!!! This morning had lots of discharge but no burning or itching. I'm pretty swollen there though, but this is literally the next day. I would use this again. I really don't like how uncomfortable I was for the time I was, but I'd rather take this than go to the hospital. Our bodies are different, so don't be too thrown off by negative comments."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Stay away!! I used Monistat over a decade ago. Some reviews say that the burning is because it’s not a yeast infection. Untrue! This Monistat is a different formula, and whatever they put in it causes extreme burning! My labia minor and major burned in ways I cannot describe. The inflammation is not minimal! Please don’t purchase this product. On day 1, there was some mild discomfort and itching. Day 2 was by far the worst as the product began to slowly seep out, and I was up all night in pain and agony. Day 3, the “chunks” of the egg start to come out, and I finally felt relief. It is now Day 4, and there is some itching, but barely noticeable. Don’t use this product. Please! The FDA needs to investigate this."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "A day later and my pootang is still on fire! May as well have slashed it up with paper cuts and drenched it in lemon juice or hot pepper juice. I've had kids, I've been stitched, I've been in car accidents with severe broken bone injuries... I'd have a root canal with no anesthetic before I'd ever try this again. I'm scared! Glad other people had it too, otherwise I'd drive myself to the ER. Feel their pain, though, and do not want anyone to ever go through this. I had to put a frozen burrito on it! Only relief so far, not to mention the swelling :( I hope at least the YI goes away within the next day or two! Who can tell if it did or if I got a chemical burn!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "OMGoodness, get it out. Have a YI, thought okay, can't get into the doctor, will use this. Never ever again. Swollen, but the burning, dear Lord, the burning is so bad, and I can't get it to stop. Don't ever buy it."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Update: I finally went to the OB/GYN after excruciating burning and severe swelling. Guess what? They said I had a chemical burn. They said they never recommend this product to patients due to high alcohol content along with other irritants. They prescribed me a yeast pill and told me to use Desitin diaper cream for babies instead. Do not buy if you want to save your vag!!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am convinced Monistat was created by men who hate women! I have tried everything to get this intense burning to stop, nothing helps. A shower helped for a few minutes, but the burning is back along with swelling, and it feels like my inner vagina is having convolutions. Never ever again. I wanted fast relief from the YI, now I wish I had those same problems instead of this “cure.”"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Felt symptoms of YI coming on (irritation, swelling, and slight discharge). Woke up the very next day with a full-fledged YI. Couldn’t get ahold of my dr right away, so I did something VERY desperate and purchased Monistat 1. This little ball of fire fury is the worst, most lethal thing I think I have ever come across in my life. I went from having a YI to having the fiery depths of lava bubbling inside of my lady bits. It looks like I gave birth again and hurts to walk/sit. Did my best to remove it all after the burning intensified, but I’m still suffering after a whole 24 hours. Not worth the stress, trouble, money, and it does absolutely nothing but make things 1000x worse. Just call your gyno and ask for Diflucan or another prescription option because OTC YI treatment is NOT the way to go."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I can highly recommend this product to anyone eager for the sensation of shoving a tampon soaked in napalm up your twat, then experiencing an internal nuclear fallout for the next 10-12 hours. Last night I inserted this at around 8. By 8:30, I was squatting in front of the freezer crying. This went on for HOURS. Thank goodness for the women on this thread who posted their experiences. Otherwise, I would’ve gone to the ER. Perhaps by ambulance, I can’t know for sure. If you’ve come here to find out if your vagina will survive, the good news is it will. But it’ll take a good 12 hours to stop burning. I’m still tender and swollen this morning. I was only able to sleep last night because I found leftover pain medication from a dental procedure. I will never use this product ever again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'll just discuss the repercussions of this OTC medicine. Without doing any research, I purchased Monistat 1 ovule, and I regret making such a big mistake. Twenty-four hours after using, I had severe swelling, soreness, itching, and irritation of the entire vulva. Indescribable pain when I urinated because my skin had ruptured in certain areas. I thought that I just had a resistant yeast infection, but after seeing my OB/GYN, I came to the realization I had an allergic reaction. She thought I had herpes based on my symptoms and an examination, but it's not possible because I'm married, and my husband and I have been faithful. I was basically bedridden for three days, in debilitating pain. It's been almost a week now and my 'lady business' is still healing."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is the first time I've ever had a yeast infection. I'm 21, and it's probably because my diabetes is out of whack. I inserted the cream at about 2 am, and by 5, I was crying in the shower, washing it off. EVERYTHING is swollen. My vagina is swollen shut, my vulva is so swollen if my legs aren't all the way spread, they touch. I have broken my back before, and I'm 99% sure this pain is worse. I took a Vicodin an hour ago, and it hasn't helped. I'm NEVER using this product again!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Had a yeast infection. Used the 3-day product, which helped, but it was coming back after a few days. Decided to try the 1-day product. Within a few hours, I had HORRIBLE itching! The cream didn't help for more than a few minutes. It got progressively worse as the night went on. I am now swollen and raw! My skin is actually bleeding! My entire vulva area is swollen. This is horrible! I read some other reports here that Desitin helps, so I just went out and got some. I'm praying for some relief. If not better by morning, I'll have to go see my doctor. Can I sue the company that made this product? I'm losing time from work because of this!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I would NOT recommend this! I’ve used it twice and have had the exact same reaction both times. I inserted the medicine at 9:30 pm and literally within 30 minutes, I had severe swelling! I mean SEVERE SWELLING!! I could hardly walk. I had to sleep with an ice pack between my legs. I went to my gynecologist the next day around 4:00."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I bought the one-dose ovule because I'm a 'let's hurry up and get this over with' kind of person. It's been a little over 24 hours since I inserted the ovule, and I'm still on fire. I hurt so bad I almost can't walk. I'm swollen so bad that I can't stand even for the cotton cloth of my clothing to touch me. I had to sleep with an ice pack between my legs last night! I have a pretty high pain tolerance - given birth 3 times and have passed numerous kidney stones - but this is ridiculous!! I called the doctor today, and they phoned out some Diflucan. Don't waste your money on this product. It's not worth the pain!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Monistat has not helped one bit! I swear it made it worse! I am in agony! I left it in! It didn’t leak out because I have a bit of a prolapse after 3 kids. The inflammation, burning, and itching is unbearable! I can’t sleep or think. It’s been 5 days since I inserted it, and I’m in agony. Buy ice packs."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Worst experience ever! My meow was on fire! I inserted the ovule about 30 minutes before I fell asleep around 11:30 pm. I woke up out of my sleep sweating at 4 am! My vagina was inflamed! Itchy, itchy, itchy plus burning! I tried to ignore it and go back to sleep, but I couldn't. Finally, I applied the cream that came in the pack, which made it worse! (I didn't even think it could get worse!) I rushed to the shower and sat in cold water! Which only helped a little! I was up for about three hours tossing, turning, and burning! Finally, I grabbed a cold freezer pack and put it between my legs! I was so relieved I fell asleep immediately! I’ve used Monistat before, but it was just the cream! One-time cream that worked so nicely! So when I grabbed this one by mistake, I thought it was no big deal! Big mistake!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "DON’T DO IT. I had a mild yeast infection, so I bought the one-day Monistat and applied it at night before going to sleep. I inserted the ovule, applied the external cream, went to bed, then about 4 hours later, woke up with INSANE itching and burning. I’ve been up for almost 3 hours now trying to wash it out of me. It’s 6:45 am, and I can’t sleep or lay still! I took a Benadryl to help with the itching and inflammation, but it’s not helping much. I will NEVER take Monistat ever again. Call your doctor for an oral pill, don’t do this to yourself, ladies!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I experienced relief from the itching within a couple of hours, so I know it worked. However, it has made my skin irritated and inflamed. The exterior cream gave me a terrible burning and tingling sensation that lasted for days, even after repeated efforts to wash it off. Next time I will just go to the doctor and try to get a prescription because this isn't worth it."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "My doctor had forgotten to call in Diflucan to treat YI after antibiotics. I asked the pharmacist what he recommended, and he suggested Monistat. I used the 1-dose and was burning with a much greater intensity about an hour after use, I really could not recommend this to my worst enemy. Burning, swelling, and headache - similar to others. Thankfully, we have a bidet, and I was able to flush it out, but still painful."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "When I first inserted it, it felt fine. I didn't feel anything until about an hour later, and then it felt like toxic lava in my vagina. It itched so bad, and I was so swollen. It felt like my vajayjay was about to bust on the inside, but I kept putting warm compresses on it and applying the ointment. When the time came, I took a really hot bath and just soaked my vajayjay in the hot water, cleaned real good, and reapplied the cream. I felt so much better. The swelling went down, and currently no more itching and burning. It feels like complete relief."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Last time I had a YI, I used the generic brand, and it was the worst pain I had ever felt. But this time around, I went with the M-1. Things to note: my 1st YI was further along than my 2nd when I realized that something was wrong down there. I think that's what caused the painful aftermath of the inserted generic brand ovule. This time around, I caught it early and got the M-1. I braced myself for the burning, itching, and the swelling, seeing how most reviews described it and my own past experience resurfaced. But it never came. I'm happy to say that I did NOT have any pain or burning after the insertion of the M-1. It did itch a bit, but that has since gone away. The discharge is minimal. I did notice some of the medicine came out when I urinated, but nothing else. Where I feel things went wrong with my previous experience is that it was already burning, itching, and swollen by the time I did anything about it. I agree that this medicine may not be for all, but I'm sure glad that I used it."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I woke up with very mild itching and burning and immediately knew I was going to get a yeast infection. It had been 5 years since I had one but remember it well. I went to the store and bought the 1-day dose to just knock the infection out. Later that night I used it and it was fine for the first 15 minutes, then the burning and itching were intensified times 100!!!! It turned into the longest night of my life! The itch was so intense I didn't know what to do! The burning made me so uncomfortable! I tried rinsing it out but it wasn't working! By the time morning came, my vagina was so swollen and still itchy and burning. NEVER AGAIN will I use this!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "DO NOT BUY. At first, there was absolutely no burning or itching. About two hours later, I was running to the bathroom to try to rinse it out! It is now 2:53 am and I have an ice pack between my legs. LITERALLY BURNING! I can’t keep still because it’s so irritating! My vagina is all red and swollen and I can’t sleep. For the love of vaginas, do not get this product. It’s absolutely miserable!"
