For Pain "I suffered from sudden foot pain (probably a stress fracture). Aleve was working for me, but my podiatrist put me on meloxicam since my stomach was not bothered by the Aleve. After the first day, I had a very upset stomach. I did take the meloxicam for a second day, but was chewing Tums constantly so my stomach wasn't so upset. I stopped taking it after day 2. On the bright side, I had no pain in my foot for a few days. Now, I have some slight foot pain, but I'll live with that until the foot is healed."

For Osteoarthritis "So I've only been taking 7.5 mg once a day for 5 days, and I do feel a lot of relief in the pain in my hands, but not much in my ankles - which is the main issue for me. After reading all these reviews, I'm hesitant to continue using it. I have had some stomach issues and have felt a bit 'blue,' but thought it was because the weather has been overcast and cold the past few days. I think I'm going to stop for a few days and see how I feel. I might just go back to Aleve, though that didn't help much."

For Inflammatory Conditions "Meloxicam was prescribed to me 15 years ago for a very rare and short-lived inflammatory condition. I noticed while on it that all of my other pains disappeared. I now keep a supply around at all times but only take it occasionally and when needed. If, for example, my lower back acts up and sciatica kicks in, or I strain my shoulder and get an impingement, or my osteoarthritic fingers stiffen up badly, or my left knee does that thing it does sometimes... (yes, I'm 58!), then I take a 15 mg dosage once a day for two or three days. By the third day, I feel half my age! While I'm on it, however, I have constant ringing in the ears and a mild but annoying headache. When I stop taking it after two to three days, usually whatever problem I was having has now become much more manageable, and the headache disappears soon enough. In order to curb the stomach upset, I always take it with a small dose of omeprazole."

Meloxicam for Osteoarthritis "I too am in constant pain. Mobic worked wonders, but my stomach wouldn't tolerate it. My doctor gave me 7.5 twice a day instead of 15. Amazing results."

For Pain "I have been taking meloxicam for two weeks for knee pain stiffness, and it worked well for the pain, but the side effects are not good: stomach cramps and dark stool. I stopped taking it."

"My doctor prescribed this when the naproxen that was previously prescribed caused chest pains. (I have high blood pressure and am on 25 mgs Hydrochlorothiazide). The first day taking this medicine seemed wonderful, the pain was manageable and I felt okay. By the second day, I noticed a couple of little things like loss of appetite and upset stomach (although I took the medicine with food), but brushed it off as minor and okay. By the third morning, I was having major chills, blurred vision, nausea, and a migraine-level headache. Needless to say, I have not taken meloxicam again."
