For Osteoarthritis "Been taking this for a while! I initially was taking OTC meds for the pain when I was 305 lbs. I cut my weight down to 265 lbs. Now that I’m taking meloxicam, my weight has gone back up to 278 lbs. Same diet with changes here and there and changes in workout (losing weight steadily) BUT NOW 13 lbs!!! In just a month!!!! I’ll take OTC. I doubt it works, for me anyhow, STILL WAS IN PAIN."

Meloxicam for Osteoarthritis "Mobic was prescribed to me by my podiatrist after finding that I have posterior tibial tendonitis, osteoarthritis in my big toe joint, and a heel spur all on my left foot. I find that 7.5 mg of Mobic has really helped with the osteoarthritis and other aches and pains that I have developed in the past few years. I find it best to take before bed, as I have a 4-month-old daughter to take care of. Throughout the day, I am taking Tramadol, wrapping, and icing my foot for pain relief. I find that the combination works really well. In the middle of the night, I am ready and able to take care of my baby girl."

Meloxicam for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have taken Mobic sporadically for the last 3 years. I only take it when I'm really in pain and cannot manage the pain through natural methods. It helps me to sleep, and it helps the pain in my hands and hip. I do not feel groggy when I wake up, but sometimes I am stiff and hurting from sleeping so deeply."

For Osteoarthritis "I have arthritis in my right knee. I am currently taking allopurinol and have been for 17 years due to gout in my left big toe. On the day in question, I took my allopurinol pill in the morning as I have since 2002. In the evening of the same day, at dinner time, I took one tablet of meloxicam 7.5 mg with dinner. To help with the inflammation in my right knee. Within two hours, my left big toe was causing me terrible pain and looked like a red bulb on a Christmas tree. I am writing this report 24 hours later, and my left big toe still hurts like someone stomped on it. I took another pill of allopurinol last night and one this morning, but the pain persists. My advice to you: do NOT take this medicine if you have gout. It will not cure your pain, but will cause you tremendous agony. I only took one dose. Never again!"

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have had back pain for years now. About a month ago, my doctor gave me meloxicam 15 mg. By the end of the month, I was feeling very weak and in pain. I was having pain in the middle of my stomach and it subsided. A week later, I experienced weakness and feeling like I was going to pass out. When I told my doctor, he said he did not know why I was feeling this way. The same day, I developed diarrhea and it was black. This continued to the next day. I called for an appointment because I was feeling worse. I was admitted to the hospital, and I was told I was bleeding and I have three ulcers: two gastric and one peptic, and every doctor said it came from the meloxicam. It was destroying my stomach. I will never use it again."

For Osteoarthritis "I am having carpal tunnel release surgery on Tuesday and have been off my Mobic for about 6 days now. I have pain in areas I had no idea hurt: left knee, neck, both wrists, all fingers, right elbow, and right shoulder. It was first prescribed for left knee pain only. I can't wait to get this surgery done and get back on it. I am in so much pain."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I have chronic lower spinal pain, pain from foot injuries, from a fractured pelvis 10 years ago, what my docs have said is arthritis and fibromyalgia. I was prescribed this med and took the first dose last night before bed. Woke a few hours later, could not go back to sleep, dizzy, still in pain, and had the worst early morning leg cramps I have ever experienced-cried out in pain. If my windows had been open, anyone who heard me might have thought I was getting attacked. Upon waking, I was still in pain and sooooo tired. Not taking another dose."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "When first diagnosed with RA, I was prescribed Mobic 15 mg a day. Yes, it did help, but pain returned (hands especially, acutely followed by knees). I was then prescribed Methotrexate 15 mg x 1 a week, but after 1 year, reduced that to 10 mg. After a severe fall and dislocation to my knee, torn meniscus, I began to use Mobic as PRN, and now I find it reliably reduces the pain in my knees if I am having a bad time. 1 tablet reduces the pain by 75% for at least 10 hours."

Meloxicam for Rheumatoid Arthritis "Have been taking it for 2 weeks and now wake up stiff and in a lot of pain. I can barely walk because I have arthritis in my ankle. I'm going to have to go back to my other medicine because this one does not work at all for me."

For Pain "Taking 15 mg of meloxicam for a pinched nerve until they can do an injection or surgery. It takes 2 hours to kick in after taking it, and then it wears off around the 20-hour mark, making it impossible to sleep. I wait exactly 24 hours to take the next dose since it says 1x per day, but that leaves me in pain 6 hours a day. I can take Tylenol, they say, but that lasts maybe 2 hours with the pain I have. I would need 6 Tylenol just to get through these last 6 hours."

For Pain "I've taken meloxicam for pain from endometriosis for about 6 months now. I used to take it with a different manufacturer, but insurance made me change pharmacies, which in turn changed to this manufacturer. Almost immediately, once I started taking this manufacturer's pills, all of my previous symptoms of pain and inflammation came back. It is almost like I'm not even taking the meloxicam anymore. I am now having to pay for it out of pocket so that I can actually get medication that works. It is crazy how much can change from manufacturer to manufacturer. If it doesn't work for you with this one, try another. I like ZYD the best."

For Tendonitis "The first day, unnoticed and stiffness in my back, but I had driven a lot that day, so I didn’t think anything of it. I began having more pain each day, like repetitive muscle use strain in my right mid-back (kidney area and up) and spreading around to my right side. On day 5, I stood up to walk, and my whole left side seized up and started spasming, from my rib cage and obliques all the way around my side to my back all the way up. I couldn’t catch my breath. Every time I moved, it would seize. The pain was unbearable. Tylenol helped, but it went on for hours. Luckily, my gut was the medicine, so I stopped. It started to slowly improve, but two days after, it was like someone had beaten me up. My muscles ache so bad, loose stools, burning in my abdomen. The nurse told me it might take me up to a week to get it out of my system. Thank goodness I stopped taking it. I don’t know what the outcome might have been."

For Osteoarthritis "I am one hour into my first 15 mg dose. I have been shuffling, having stiffness in my knee and pain for about 6 weeks now. I may be overly hopeful, but I swear I am moving better than I have in weeks. Fingers crossed."

For Osteoarthritis "I got switched to this brand last refill, I've been taking meloxicam for 16 years and no problem!!! But this brand is eating my stomach up, indigestion, burning, and slight pain, feel like I need a Tums or antacid every time I take it. Not working for me at all--"

For Pain "I was recently diagnosed with tennis elbow. My MD prescribed meloxicam. Two hours after taking it, I started experiencing intolerable leg pain (pain like I have never experienced), flu-like symptoms (chills, mild fever), fatigue, loss of appetite, loss of interest in work/hobbies, mild nausea. I discontinued the medicine twelve days ago. While side effects have improved, I'm still experiencing some. I can honestly say that I have never felt this bad in my life."

"I've suffered with a bad back for almost 40 years. I have spondylolisthesis, amongst other issues with my back. I was just trying to figure out when to have back surgery because I was sick of living with the daily pain. Asked my doctor why I hadn't tried anything for arthritis. They wrote me a script, and I am now a new man. Sure, I have some pain now and again, mostly from overdoing it, but I am very happy at this point with what this medicine has done for me. Prior to this script, I would use Tylenol 3 as needed. I haven't needed the codeine since taking this. I am very satisfied."

For Fibromyalgia "I’m 22 years old, and I was in two car accidents this past year. I found out I had dextroscoliosis at 19. And like all of the doctors out there, they don’t think I’m in any sort of pain and that I’m exaggerating because of my age. I’m so fed up; like if I wasn’t in pain, why would I go to a physical therapy appointment? I don’t really see a huge effect with Baclofen. Naproxen, some. I took Mobic at night, and it gave me relief, but it faded away by 3 pm the next day. However, my doctor only prescribed me 14 pills with no refills. I’ll have to wait a bit. I think I have fibromyalgia, but I don’t think I’ll find out for real any time soon. I’m hypersensitive to touch; I get random pains in my knees, legs, and hands. I’ve tried acupuncture, but the drive up there stresses me out, and only one person knows English."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I had to go to the ER 2 nights ago. My hips gave out, and I fell in my driveway for the 3rd time in four years. I've been taking it for 2 days now, and nothing. Absolutely no help. The Toradol shot they gave me at the ER didn't do anything either. I've literally been screaming and crying in pain for over 2 days now. I'm bedridden for the time being and can find no relief at all."

For Osteoarthritis "I have osteoarthritis in my fingers, thumbs, and both shoulders from 40 years of factory work. I have been taking Meloxicam for 2 and a half years. Without it, I don't think I could continue working. I take one 15 mg pill every morning, and it gives me relief all day. I get minor pain in the evening, but nothing I can't handle. I tried going off of Meloxicam due to reading about the risks of long-term use, but my pain came back with a vengeance. I tried Aleve twice a day instead. It didn't work as well for the pain, and it was harder on my stomach. My rheumatologist said I had to weigh the risk factors and side effects of long-term use of Meloxicam with my quality of life, so I am choosing Meloxicam because it works for me, and it's inexpensive."
