For Birth Control "I was prescribed Blisovi for my excruciating period pain. I would vomit, faint, sweat, cry, and stay in bed in a fetal position for 5 days whenever I had my period prior to being prescribed a BC. Blisovi was my first ever BC. At first, I thought this was a magic pill because it took all my period cramps away and had a mild period that lasted 3 days. It is almost 1 year on Blisovi, I gained 15+ lbs (I exercise 4-5x/week and I have a very healthy diet), I become emotional over any stupid stuff, my face has breakouts to the point I am self-conscious (I haven’t had acne since I was 13), I have had high anxiety and stress, I wear glasses and my vision has gotten 5x worse, and the sweaty underarm is the icing on top of the cake. I did not think about all of this until I realized I didn’t have any of these symptoms a year ago when I was not taking Blisovi. As of today, I am stopping this pill, it is not worth it."

For Birth Control "I was put on this pill for my low estrogen, and it did the job but not without some unfortunate side effects. The first week I started taking it, my blood sugar would drop suddenly almost every day, and I would almost pass out if I didn't sit down and eat something immediately. I have never had issues with blood sugar before in my life, and I have noticed it only happens when I am taking this pill. I also have horrible anxiety attacks and frequent heart palpitations, which has also never happened to me before. Regarding weight, I have found that I lost several pounds instead of gaining (maybe the anxiety?). There are times I feel hungry no matter how much I eat, and other times I feel like I'm going to explode despite having eaten nothing at all. All in all, the pill did what it said it would and more...maybe another prescription is in order."

For Birth Control "This pill is the WORST. I just started my third month and have so much stress and anxiety. The pill has helped with my periods, but the toll it has put on my body is not worth it. I had started a new job around the time I was put on the pill and associated the stress to my job and school, I was WRONG. My face is always breaking out, except when I'm on my period (I'm assuming it's because I'm on the placebo pill those 4 days). I'm waiting for my third month checkup to allow my body to adjust to the pill, but I will come off this as soon as I meet with my doctor. I was naive and didn't do any research on the pill. After reading these reviews, I regret not looking into it and saving myself this emotional distress."

For Birth Control "Horrible, horrible, horrible!!! I've been on this pill for 4 weeks now. The worst 4 weeks of my life. Days after I started to take it, there is a zit party on my forehead! I have had extreme anxiety at least 3 times a week. My mood swings are uncontrollable, and sex drive is at an all-time low. I would not recommend this pill to anyone. Going from Microgestin to Blisovi due to insurance not covering it is so not worth it. I'll pay for the pill rather than have these awful side effects."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control, Blisovi 24 Fe, for about 4 months, and it works great at regulating my periods. I now have a steady cycle and no cramps or PMS at all, but it literally ruined the last couple of months of my life by affecting my mental health. I've struggled with depression and anxiety before going on the pill, and it was 100x magnified by this birth control. I cry over every little thing and am so depressed and anxious that I can't do my work or go to school. Switching off ASAP."

For Birth Control "I have never left a review on a medication, but I need other women to be warned! I was on this two months, and it was the WORST two months. I gained 13 pounds, my acne flared up like never before, I was constantly nauseous (throwing up almost every day), breakthrough bleeding if you are even 10 minutes late taking the pill, but the absolute worst side effect was how heightened my anxiety and depression became. Panic attacks almost every day, and they were so severe and worse than they have ever been. Crying LITERALLY all the time about everything. Did not have any desire to leave my house, and when I did, I was so anxious it wasn't even worth it. Even if you aren't sure how your body will react to this pill, I would NOT chance it."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS! This past year has been the worst year ever! All of a sudden, I have the craziest symptoms that don’t go away no matter what I do. Severe migraines all the time! I gained 10+ pounds! I have never had an issue with weight in my life. I work out 6 times a week, eat extremely healthy, and the scale is just going up! It’s affected my mental health so much because it makes you feel like you’re going crazy. I’m extremely tired no matter how much sleep I get. My anxiety has been out of control. I’m sad and tired. Irritable all the time for no reason. My stomach always hurts. My periods are so irregular, I won’t get a period for a couple of months, then I’ll spot and bleed randomly all the time. My vision has all of a sudden gotten bad? I’ve never had eye problems in my life. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to connect these symptoms to this birth control! STAY FAR AWAY!"

For Birth Control "I don't leave comments on medicines, but this was the worst birth control I've been on, so I want to make others aware. I'm just finishing my second pack and have gained weight, got cystic acne, and have been more prone to anxiety attacks. I've had a lot of headaches and very irritable. I'm switching off this birth control after this week since I only have 3 pills left, and my doctor wants me to finish this pack before starting a new one. I highly advise not taking this medicine -- the side effects have been unbearable."

For Birth Control "I started taking Blisovi 4 years ago. It was not until I discovered this page of reviews that I realized things that I thought were just wrong with me (high anxiety, fatigue, feelings of emptiness, pain during intercourse, bloating, hair falling out, etc.) were actually birth control side effects. I am stopping this pill now and getting an IUD instead."

For Birth Control "This stuff is the worst. I have ovarian cysts, so this is what my gyno recommended. I have been on it for 8 months or so and had spotting between periods for several months, and now I haven’t had a period in 3 months. Sounds great, right? Not so much. I am constantly bloated and uncomfortable. My depression, insomnia, and anxiety are worse than ever, as well as my acne. I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy."

For Birth Control "I was switched to this medication because every year I tend to 'outgrow' a medication and get non-stop periods. But this one was by far the worst out of the 10 I've ever been on over the past 10 years. I got acne so severe that I had to go on Accutane, and at age 28, that's really embarrassing, and my face is still covered in scars. I never had acne before this medication. Also, the cramping all month never went away, constant spotting, etc. Mood swings, bloating, crazy weight gain. And anxiety and migraines like you couldn't believe. I wouldn't give this medication to my worst enemy."

For Birth Control "I was on Microgestin for the last 5 years before my pharmacy switched to this medication, which they stated was just like Microgestin. I had NO side effects while on Microgestin, but this birth control has been a hot mess! I’ve been on it for maybe 2 months and didn’t really experience any issues. I stopped for about a month and recently started back, and oh my word. I have been an emotional wreck! I burst out in tears for absolutely no reason. I feel very anxious at times. And I do not feel like myself AT ALL! I am a very happy-go-lucky person, but this medication has completely changed my mood. I am stopping this IMMEDIATELY! I do not recommend this to anyone!"

For Birth Control "I’ve only been on this medication for a week, but I’m incapacitated by abdominal pain, bloating, vomiting, and diarrhea, and haven’t slept in two nights. I’ve also had really bad headaches and anxiety since I started it. I finally put two and two together and realized this medication was causing all of my symptoms. I’m going back to Taytulla (had to stop due to not having insurance, but my doctor offered 6 months of samples after hearing my reaction to this one). Blisovi is horrible for me. Taytulla caused no side effects, significantly decreased the pain I experience almost daily due to primary adenomyosis and endometriosis, and shortened my periods to one day. Try that one!"

For Birth Control "I already get occasional cystic acne, typically when I'm about to start my period. This pill made it so much worse. Since I started taking it, my skin has been consistently erupting, my face is puffy and swollen, and on top of that, I've been experiencing depressive symptoms. I already have anxiety, and it's hard to say if it's the pill making it worse or if it's environmental circumstances, but I don't have an external cause for feeling as depressed as I have since I've started taking this pill. I've been on other birth control pills such as Ortho Tri-Cyclen without any of these problems. I do not recommend this pill, and I am so disappointed with my experience taking it."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for about 7 months. I started getting terrible forehead acne (which I've NEVER had before), a 20-pound weight gain (as someone who exercises 5x a week and hasn't had sugar in years), back pain, and anxiety. I had no anxiety before and have now had 4 terrible anxiety attacks on this pill. I didn't realize all these symptoms were because of the pill, but starting yesterday I stopped the pill. I would not recommend this to anyone."

For Birth Control "When I was 18, I got put on Lomedia 24, but after a year on it, I noticed I had a constant tired feeling. My doctor then switched me to Blisovi 24, which I've been on for over 2 years. I did notice some weight gain, but it was minimal and I (luckily) was able to get it off. I loved this brand, never had any spotting, and my periods were always very light and short, and I never had any babies. The only real downfall was the week before my period, without fail, I would have really bad anxiety and be extremely emotional - way more than I normally was on Lomedia. Other than that, I would highly recommend Blisovi 24."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control! I have been on it for about 2 and a half months, and for the first month, I had light bleeding/spotting almost every day. I don't weigh myself very often, so I'm not sure if I have gained weight, but my appetite has increased a ton, and I am eating really unhealthily. I feel very tired in the mornings, even when I wake up at 11 AM or later, and I feel very lazy and just want to lay around all day. This pill has greatly increased my anxiety, which I have normally, and I am a lot more emotional (I cry at almost anything now!). I feel very irritable all the time, and the littlest things can set me off now (I am usually a calm person). I really hate this birth control and wish I had read reviews before I was put on it."

For Birth Control "I went on the pill because my periods were lasting 20-25 days with a 6-day break with no period. I have cystic acne and I had the perfect skin routine, so I knew it had to be hormonal issues. The doctor said it would take three months to regulate, so I waited. Within the FIRST week, my depression was through the roof, my anxiety made me scratch my head and bite my nails 24/7, and it was just not a fun time. My breasts were so swollen up in the morning, and I CRIED EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR NO REASON. At this point, I didn’t think a pill could do this, and I almost asked to go to the hospital. I thought I was going crazy. I took the pill, and after 4 months, I was seeing that my mood started regulating again and my skin WAS SO CLEAR. Girl, I swear I thought I went on accutane, it was so clear. My periods NEVER regulated and... LISTEN TO ME, MY CRAMPS GOT WORSE. I never cancel plans, but I couldn’t even get out of bed, I almost threw up because of the pain. So therefore, I will no longer be taking those meds."

For Birth Control "Before starting on this medication, I was on Minastrin 24 Fe and Lomedia 24 Fe. I recently switched to Blisovi 24 Fe because I was told Lomedia was on back order. Anyway, I've been on this medication for one month, and I was so scared I was going to experience the symptoms everyone else says on here. I did not have any breakouts while on Lomedia or Minastrin, and have had none with this medication. The week of my period, I did have one day of anxiety and some dizziness and light spotting, but that was only one day, and my doctor said that was normal. Overall, I will continue with this if I can't go back on Lomedia."

For Birth Control "I'm currently on the first week of my second month, but I am stopping. The third week of my first pack, I ended up throwing up, and I have been nauseous nonstop since starting this pill. It also made me extremely anxious and depressed and exacerbated my pre-existing sleep problems. Definitely calling the Dr on Monday to switch."

For Birth Control "I used to be on Loestrin FE and loved it, but the pharmacy switched it to Blisovi, and since I've started taking it, I'm up 15-20 lbs, depending on the day. I work out every day and have a very healthy diet, yet no matter what I do, the weight won't drop. Being someone who struggled with weight naturally, I got to a goal body fat/weight only to have it spike so rapidly is extremely upsetting. Not only is my weight up, but my face breaks out all the time, and my anxiety as of late has been awful. I do not recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "This birth control straight up ruined my life. I would wake up every morning with crippling anxiety/depression, I could not eat, I was constantly nauseous and vomiting. And it took me months to realize the Blisovi 24 was the problem, so by the time I quit taking it, I had already developed a vitamin D deficiency and was extremely low in progesterone, both of which can greatly affect your moods. Seriously, try ANY other birth control before this one. They should not be allowed to sell this stuff."

For Birth Control "I was recently switched from Gildess to Microgestin, and Microgestin was awesome! Very few side effects, and my cycle became regular, and cramps mild. I went to fill my prescription last month and was blindsided by this new brand Blisovi 1/20. The pharmacist stated it's the same formula as Microgestin. Yeah, right! Since starting this b/c I've experienced intense headaches/severe sinus problems, vision problems, anxiety, sleep issues, bloating, sore/swollen hands and joints, very tender breasts, and feeling so lethargic. I was actually starting to wonder if it even prevented pregnancy due to the symptoms. I thought it was just the holidays. Just finished the first pack and will never take it again! Do not recommend this pill!!"
