For Birth Control "I have been taking Blisovi 24 Fe for about 5 months after switching from Tri-Lo-Sprintec, which made my moods crazy. Blisovi 24 Fe has been nothing but good to me. I don’t get acne, I haven’t gotten pregnant (knock on wood), and my periods have become very light and only about 2 days long. Occasionally, I experience headaches and nausea, but any birth control will do that to you, so I don’t find it a big deal. My moods have been much better and less fluctuating overall. I guess everyone really just reacts differently to it."

For Birth Control "My doctor gave me the prescription for this pill, Blisovi 24 Fe, and I started taking them without reading the reviews. I’m actually surprised at the negative experience most of the people here had! Then I remember that everybody reacts differently to every medication, and I might have gotten really lucky with this one. I am about to start my second pack, and so far, I’ve had no problems at all with this pill. When I first started taking them, the only side effect I noticed was headaches that lasted for only a few days. After that, everything was fine and normal. My weight has stayed the same, and I’ve had no breakouts on my face. I can’t say what this pill has in store for me in the future, but so far, it’s been uneventful and easy. If you’re reading this and you are still unsure, I’d say just take it anyway and see if it works for you and your body. The negative reviews may seem overwhelming and terrifying, but keep in mind that there are people who had a positive experience with it."

"I was in Lo Loestrin for years but switched to Blisovi 24 Fe. I have been on this pill for about 2 months now. I’ve been having terrible headaches, nausea/vomiting, and my mood has been all over the place. I have anxiety, and as soon as I started this pill, I have seen it heighten incredibly. My anxiety is terrible now. My mood swings are almost as bad as the anxiety. I become angry and upset so quickly, and I’ve never been like this in my life. I feel insane and emotional. I’m so happy to know that I am not alone, I read all the reviews on this site because it makes me feel less crazy. I’m definitely getting off of this. Also, my face is starting to break out in places I’ve never broken out before (my chin + around my mouth). Please discuss other options with your gyno before switching to this birth control!!!"

For Birth Control "I decided to share after reading 4 pages of reviews in case this is helpful to anyone. I was on Taytulla for a year before switching to Blisovi for insurance reasons. I would like to clarify that I live a fairly unhealthy lifestyle. I've lost ~10 pounds since I started this pill, still unsure if that's related or not. I started an antidepressant 2 months before I started my BC, so I was having some trouble telling the side effects of the two medicines apart. With Blisovi, my first two periods came at weird times as my body was adjusting to the pill, but I haven't gotten a period at all for the last two months (I took a test, I'm not pregnant). I haven't experienced any back pain or headaches at all. However, my mental state has definitely changed over these past 4 months, but I'm unsure how much of that has been caused by the pill. I haven't had any acne problems. All in all, I don't THINK it has caused me any problems - wanted to post this in case anyone else was feeling the same way."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about 4 months now. It is the worst pill I have ever taken. The only positive thing about it is my periods last maybe 4 days and are very light. The negatives... I can't control my acne breakouts. I have NO sex drive. I have constant mood swings. I feel like I'm a teenager again. I also have headaches, and I have trouble staying asleep at night. It just makes me feel NOT MYSELF. I made an appointment with my gyno for a visit. I am never using this birth control again. I thought I was crazy, but I read other reviews, and I guess I have a lot in common with many others that have taken this pill before. It's horrible! I am grateful for those people that it helps, but this is definitely not the pill for me."

For Birth Control "I love this stuff. I had switched from Lo Loestrin because of price, but I'm really glad I did. My skin has been perfect ever since I started taking it. When I was taking Lo Loestrin, it made me have red bumpiness around my chin, but once I started taking this, it went away immediately, and my skin has looked so good ever since. I haven’t had any bad experiences, besides my breasts hurting (and they got bigger, which I'm happy about). Some reviews said they got headaches, nausea, weight gain, bad moods, but I haven’t experienced any of that. My periods haven’t been bad either, no heavier than what they were when not on birth control. Works super well for me!"

For Birth Control "I was previously on Loestrin FE for about 2 years. I had no side effects with this medication at all! So, one day I went to pick up my auto-fill prescription about 2 months ago, and the pharmacist informed me that the prescription had been switched to Blisovi, but it's the same exact medication. Oh no, it isn't! I've had a headache (varying from severe to mild) every single day. I'm tired, hungry, my back aches more than usual, gained about 10 pounds, broke out on my face, and this headache is a nightmare. I was beginning to think I'm going crazy until I read similar reviews. I was getting so mad over stupid stuff and crying out of nowhere. My boyfriend has handled it like a champ, but hopefully won't have to for long because I'm switching!"

For Birth Control "I was taking Gildess Fe 1/20 birth control, and my pharmacist changed it since it was on recall and switched me over to Blisovi Fe 1/20. It mucked everything up. I'm not too happy, but I can't do much about it. I haven't gotten my period so far. I have breast tenderness, I have horrible headaches, and I usually never break out, and so far I have since I switched my BC. No bueno, smh."

For Birth Control "My daughter was put on BC to regulate heavy periods and was also switched by the pharmacy to this medicine. She has been having headaches, breast tenderness, breakthrough bleeding, and sudden outbreaks of acne! I decided to look up reviews and possible comparables and found this site. Thank you all for posting, as I will be calling the DR. to switch! Be sure to let the pharmacist know when picking up meds, they shouldn't just blindly switch prescriptions without previously letting patients know beforehand so that we may make an informed decision on what medicines we take!"

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Blisovi 24 Fe after my insurance decided not to cover Minastrin 24 Fe. I have taken Blisovi for about 8 days now, and I have had terrible side effects. My breasts and nipples are in extreme pain all day, bad headaches, and today I fainted. Earlier today, I was speaking to a peer, and all of a sudden, I broke out into an entire body sweat, got extremely lightheaded, and extremely nauseous. My blood pressure was taken immediately after my fainting spell, and it read 85/60. I'm typically anywhere from 110-115/75-80. I will no longer be taking this medication due to the side effects. I told myself I would try it for a month, but after the fainting spell today, I will no longer be taking Blisovi 24 Fe."

For Birth Control "I have never written an online review, but I felt the need! I was previously on Lo Loestrin for years and just got Blisovi in the mail, claiming it is the 'same pill but looks different.' No way! Automatically, I experienced headaches every day, tiredness to where I can't even move, mood swings, and I feel hungover every day! I usually eat healthy and work out, but the first week I started taking the pill, I could barely move out of my bed. I eat less but crave greasy, unhealthy foods, which is not my usual diet whatsoever. I feel as if I'm retaining water. I also have cried every day the past week over nothing!!!!! So angry about this pill and that they can just switch pills without consulting! I also experience constant thirst. Stay away!!!!!"

For Birth Control "This has been the worst BC I've been on, mood swings, cramps, terrible headaches, it is a total downer. I've really noticed that I've been less engaged in communication and tired. I've been on it for about 6 months, and it's 6 months too long."

For Birth Control "I previously used NuvaRing, which I loved, but had to stop taking. After 5 months of no birth control, I started using Blisovi. I bled for 3 weeks solid, then had 2 periods/month for the 1st 3 months. Just started my 6th month, and only have one very light period/month (don't need to use tampons). But I am going off of this, as my hormones get worse the longer I'm on it. I have still been experiencing PMS symptoms 2x/month, even if no bleeding mid-cycle. During my last cycle, I was completely crazy, and also started having daily headaches. I'm now in week two of the pack, on the verge of tears 24/7, crying over nothing, picking fights with my lovely boyfriend. I'm NOT myself. Also made me gain noticeable weight - breasts got bigger, but so did other areas."

For Birth Control "I have switched to this medication because they discontinued Micronor, which was perfect for me. When I started taking Blisovi, I had headaches, and any birth control for me never makes cramps go away except for Micronor. So I still had cramps. A little bit of weight gain. I was super emotional and moody. Regular 5- to 6-day periods. After taking these pills for about 4 months, the side effects got better. I barely get headaches. My period is lighter than it has ever been, 1 to 3 days. The only time I'm emotional is on my placebo week. And I am not pregnant. :) Overall, it's a tolerable pill."

For Birth Control "I don't leave comments on medicines, but this was the worst birth control I've been on, so I want to make others aware. I'm just finishing my second pack and have gained weight, got cystic acne, and have been more prone to anxiety attacks. I've had a lot of headaches and very irritable. I'm switching off this birth control after this week since I only have 3 pills left, and my doctor wants me to finish this pack before starting a new one. I highly advise not taking this medicine -- the side effects have been unbearable."

For Birth Control "I started Blisovi 24 Fe birth control 4 months ago. At first, everything seemed okay, but these last 2 months have been horrible. I am 30 years old and I have NEVER had any issues with acne. Now I'm constantly finding new bumps popping up around my chin and forehead. The last 8 or so days left in my pack, I feel like complete crap. My stomach constantly cramps, I feel constipated, I feel nauseous, I have headaches, I feel tired, and I'm constantly hungry. I'm bloated all of the time. My doctor has now changed me to Junel... hoping for better luck."

For Birth Control "I took Lamed 24 Fe and then got switched to this. It seems the same except I've had a few headaches, but that could be due to being sick the past two weeks. I've gained a few pounds, but that could be because I went from a 32C to now a 30DDD. My skin is about the same, maybe a little less breakouts, nothing bad at all."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Blisovi for almost 2 years now. This BC regulated my period, cleared up my acne, and stopped the cramps. However, I had bad nausea and headaches at the start, which the doctor told me would stop as I continued, so I kept taking it. Eventually, the nausea went away, but the headaches didn't. I had terrible backaches. I gained at least 40 lbs since starting. I'm in college, so it's hard to eat healthy/exercise when in school & working, but gaining this much weight this fast is not normal. I was already depressed because of school, but this BC made me mean/irritable, I have lost my motivation, and I feel like a different person. I just stopped taking this pill and switched to a hormonal IUD, so I'll see if anything changes. The negative side effects were too much to bear."

For Birth Control "I’ve only been on this medication for a week, but I’m incapacitated by abdominal pain, bloating, vomiting, and diarrhea, and haven’t slept in two nights. I’ve also had really bad headaches and anxiety since I started it. I finally put two and two together and realized this medication was causing all of my symptoms. I’m going back to Taytulla (had to stop due to not having insurance, but my doctor offered 6 months of samples after hearing my reaction to this one). Blisovi is horrible for me. Taytulla caused no side effects, significantly decreased the pain I experience almost daily due to primary adenomyosis and endometriosis, and shortened my periods to one day. Try that one!"

For Birth Control "Awful! Took Microgestin for years. Pharmacy gave me this Blisovi because they were out of Microgestin and assured me this was 'the same thing.' No way! Took it for 6 weeks - cramps, spotting, nauseous, headaches, gained 5 lbs (and I hardly ate because I had no appetite!), broke out all over my chin/neck area, had my period for 10 days! Ugh. Never again."

For Birth Control "I was recently switched from Gildess to Microgestin, and Microgestin was awesome! Very few side effects, and my cycle became regular, and cramps mild. I went to fill my prescription last month and was blindsided by this new brand Blisovi 1/20. The pharmacist stated it's the same formula as Microgestin. Yeah, right! Since starting this b/c I've experienced intense headaches/severe sinus problems, vision problems, anxiety, sleep issues, bloating, sore/swollen hands and joints, very tender breasts, and feeling so lethargic. I was actually starting to wonder if it even prevented pregnancy due to the symptoms. I thought it was just the holidays. Just finished the first pack and will never take it again! Do not recommend this pill!!"

For Birth Control "I started Blisovi a little over a year ago. It was the first BC I had tried, and so far, the only bad side effects I've noticed are weight gain, which was minimal to begin with, and increased headaches. I was previously experiencing depression and anxiety, and I have not noticed an increase in that. Honestly, it's not a bad medication for its intended purpose. It has definitely helped with preventing pregnancy and stabilizing my periods. I read a lot of the bad reviews, and I think the problems are just specific to the individual people."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control ever. I had been on Gildess for years. Pharmacy switched me to Junel, which I had been on for a year with no change from the Gildess. Pharmacy gave me Blisovi this time, and I have been MISERABLE ever since. Terrible headaches, I can't even describe how bloated I am. I am probably two pants sizes larger in just a week of taking it. The worst part... I cannot have a bowel movement. I haven't had one since the day I started it, and I haven't had one in a week. Also have bad cramps on and off, and spotting. The pharmacy agreed to reverse the claim with my insurance company and switch me back to Junel, but they have to order it. I will be stopping this pill until I can get Junel. I can't eat because I feel like I am 100% full of... you know what."

This birth control is horrible, and honestly, after many reviews I’ve read, I’m not sure how this is on the market. My cycle is completely off schedule, bloating, nausea, mood swings, headaches, hot flashes. I would never recommend this, this product is a nightmare!"

For Birth Control "I recently started taking Blisovi Fe 1.5/30, and my experience has been awful! I started taking it to regulate my periods. I have had minor headaches, lots of fatigue, and nausea. I was vomiting towards the end of finishing my first pack (horrible). I can't sleep at all, I find myself staying up until about 5 or 6 a.m. until I force myself to lay down and sleep because if not, I could stay up all night! I have abdominal pain sometimes, and I have lost my appetite, and trust me, I like to eat. I have been sick for a total of about 3 weeks and a day now, and things are starting to concern me. I know it says that irregular bleeding is normal, but being on your period for 2 weeks with semi-heavy bleeding? I don't think so...."
