For Birth Control "I've been on this Blisovi 24 FE after Minastrin became unavailable on my insurance. Previously, I was on Loestrin 24 FE, and all of these birth controls have had the same effect. I used to have extremely heavy periods without BC, and now I almost don't have a period at all. Seriously, no negative side effects, no weight gain, acne, etc. I'm surprised to see such negative reviews."

For Birth Control "I decided to share after reading 4 pages of reviews in case this is helpful to anyone. I was on Taytulla for a year before switching to Blisovi for insurance reasons. I would like to clarify that I live a fairly unhealthy lifestyle. I've lost ~10 pounds since I started this pill, still unsure if that's related or not. I started an antidepressant 2 months before I started my BC, so I was having some trouble telling the side effects of the two medicines apart. With Blisovi, my first two periods came at weird times as my body was adjusting to the pill, but I haven't gotten a period at all for the last two months (I took a test, I'm not pregnant). I haven't experienced any back pain or headaches at all. However, my mental state has definitely changed over these past 4 months, but I'm unsure how much of that has been caused by the pill. I haven't had any acne problems. All in all, I don't THINK it has caused me any problems - wanted to post this in case anyone else was feeling the same way."

For Birth Control "This stuff is the worst. I was put on it to prevent ovarian cysts. But my hair is falling out, my acne is horrible, I have anxiety, insomnia, mood swings, crying spells, and dark thoughts. I’d rather just have cyst ruptures, honestly, and they’re so painful. :( Be careful what you put in your body, ladies. I’d advise you to avoid this BC at all costs."

For Birth Control "I was extremely hesitant to start this pill based on the terrible reviews. I was prescribed this pill after a ruptured ovarian cyst and mildly elevated testosterone levels, so kind of had no choice but to try it. I am on day 5, and so far, so good! I have not experienced any side effects at all. I was really worried about acne and weight gain as side effects. No acne, and I actually seem to be losing weight, which is amazing. I will update again after 1 month of use, but so far, so good!"

For Birth Control "Do not take this birth control! It is a nightmare! The first couple of months on Blisovi 24 Fe were fine, but starting around month 6, I was so depressed, wanted to sleep all day, not motivated. Horrible mood swings, no sex drive at all! The worst acne I have ever experienced! I have never had acne until I started this pill. I have been off this birth control for two days and already feel 100 times better! Find another pill to take because this is not worth it!"

For Birth Control "This was my first birth control, and I had a horrible experience. The first few days were fine, and then all of a sudden, my whole face and chest broke out. I’ve always had acne, but this was next-level acne that didn’t go away. I also experienced horrible anxiety and nausea. I was constantly nervous, and sometimes the anxiety and nausea would wake me up at night for hours at a time. I have a history of anxiety, so maybe I’m more prone to having panic attacks, but before going on this medication, my anxiety was under control, and I had no panic attacks a few months prior. A few days after stopping the medication, my acne cleared, I gained back my appetite, and I was no longer having panic attacks. Everyone’s experience was different, but mine was very bad with this medication."

For Birth Control "Was on the Gildess brand for almost a year and LOVED it! Went to the pharmacy to pick it up, and they gave me Blisovi instead, saying that it is the same exact thing. It's one month later, and I HATE it! My breasts have shrunk, and I have gained weight in my stomach, which is the last thing a girl wants! I have been having stomach problems and getting bad acne breakouts all over! It is far from the same thing I took before, glad to see I am not the only one having problems. Calling my doctor to have it switched!"

For Birth Control "I have taken Lomedia for years and have absolutely loved it. When I went to my pharmacy a week ago to pick up my prescription, they told me that Lomedia had been suddenly discontinued, and so they had given me Blisovi. She explained that it's supposed to be made by the same company as Lomedia and is supposed to be the exact same ingredients. That cannot be true. I have had no issues with my periods for years, and now I am bleeding heavily, am very bloated, and my face is suddenly breaking out. I do not believe it's the same pill, something is different. I do not recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about 4 months now. It is the worst pill I have ever taken. The only positive thing about it is my periods last maybe 4 days and are very light. The negatives... I can't control my acne breakouts. I have NO sex drive. I have constant mood swings. I feel like I'm a teenager again. I also have headaches, and I have trouble staying asleep at night. It just makes me feel NOT MYSELF. I made an appointment with my gyno for a visit. I am never using this birth control again. I thought I was crazy, but I read other reviews, and I guess I have a lot in common with many others that have taken this pill before. It's horrible! I am grateful for those people that it helps, but this is definitely not the pill for me."

For Birth Control "I've been on every generic for Loestrin under the sun and NEVER experienced bad side effects. Since I never had issues with other generics, it took me a while to figure out that this birth control was causing my issues. I got a bad yeast infection after taking this and became sensitive to getting yeast infections (despite that I never had one in my life before this). I also struggled with acne in the 'hormonal' region on my chin line and cheek area. Nothing would help the acne. I haven't encountered acne since my teens and had forgotten how awful and embarrassing it is. I switched back to Microgestin after talking to my GYN and realizing Blisovi was the culprit, and my skin is already clearing up. Avoid taking this if you can."

For Birth Control "Before taking Blisovi 24 Fe, I had taken Lo Loestrin Fe for 3 years and loved it! My insurance company stopped covering Lo Loestrin Fe, so I switched to Blisovi 24 Fe. So far, this pill has done everything I went on the pill to avoid! I have awful cramps, heavy bleeding, sore breasts, acne, mood swings, etc. I have given my body the suggested amount of time to adjust, and my symptoms still have not improved. My experience with this birth control was awful, and I am just waiting for my appeal to go through so I can get back on Lo Loestrin Fe again."

For Birth Control "I was previously on Loestrin FE for about 2 years. I had no side effects with this medication at all! So, one day I went to pick up my auto-fill prescription about 2 months ago, and the pharmacist informed me that the prescription had been switched to Blisovi, but it's the same exact medication. Oh no, it isn't! I've had a headache (varying from severe to mild) every single day. I'm tired, hungry, my back aches more than usual, gained about 10 pounds, broke out on my face, and this headache is a nightmare. I was beginning to think I'm going crazy until I read similar reviews. I was getting so mad over stupid stuff and crying out of nowhere. My boyfriend has handled it like a champ, but hopefully won't have to for long because I'm switching!"

For Birth Control "This pill is the worst!!!!! I'm a freshman in college and have been on it for almost three months, but I'm stopping it today. I can't take it anymore. I am so depressed to the point where I have spent the entire day crying on what is supposed to be a nice and relaxing family vacation!! I have terrible mood swings, gained 10 lbs, my skin is breaking out, and gotten depression (which I have had before while not taking BC), which has only been increasing during my time on the pill! I read the terrible reviews and at first thought Blisovi 24 Fe wasn't too bad, but after three months I am experiencing almost everything that everyone else who hated this pill experienced. The only plus is that my boobs got bigger lol. But seriously, do not take this."

For Birth Control "I was taking Gildess Fe 1/20 birth control, and my pharmacist changed it since it was on recall and switched me over to Blisovi Fe 1/20. It mucked everything up. I'm not too happy, but I can't do much about it. I haven't gotten my period so far. I have breast tenderness, I have horrible headaches, and I usually never break out, and so far I have since I switched my BC. No bueno, smh."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for a month and a half after my pharmacy gave it to me. I called to say you gave me the wrong pill (Junel Fe 24 is what I was on), and they said the manufacturer changed, but this is the SAME birth control. It's manufactured in India. In a month and a half, I have gained 7-8 pounds. I am very athletic, I eat a plant-based diet, I work out, I sit as a job, but that hasn't made me gain weight like this. I am annoyed. I worked for 9 months to lose 30 pounds, now I am gaining weight for no reason, crying all the time for no reason, self-doubting myself and my poor boyfriend's love for me, AND BREAKING OUT, which is why I got on birth control in the first place."

For Birth Control "My daughter was put on BC to regulate heavy periods and was also switched by the pharmacy to this medicine. She has been having headaches, breast tenderness, breakthrough bleeding, and sudden outbreaks of acne! I decided to look up reviews and possible comparables and found this site. Thank you all for posting, as I will be calling the DR. to switch! Be sure to let the pharmacist know when picking up meds, they shouldn't just blindly switch prescriptions without previously letting patients know beforehand so that we may make an informed decision on what medicines we take!"

For Birth Control "I don't normally comment, and I'm only here to see if any reviews talked about getting pregnant after stopping Blisovi (I plan to stop taking it soon to start trying for a pregnancy). However, I wanted to share my experience because it's been much more positive than the other reviews. I switched to Blisovi after taking the Depo-Provera shot for about 5 years. While on the shot, I was often depressed/anxious and had moderate acne. Once I switched to Blisovi, my anxiety and depression decreased, and my face has not been this clear since before puberty (even my acne scars are healing!). I don't take the sugar pill, so I have not had a period while on it (except after my COVID shot, which was weird). My weight has been consistent, and I have not noticed any other symptoms. I take the pill about the same time every day, plus it minus an hour or two. I haven't noticed any problems if I take it a bit later than usual. I've been on it for about 2 years now. It works for me and my body."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for 2 years, and I am so glad I saw these reviews. I’ve suffered with unprompted anxiety, but I always thought it was normal. I have gained weight, my acne around PMS is absolutely horrible, my back hurts, and the nausea is so hard to manage. I will never be taking this pill again. Please listen to the reviews and know you aren’t going crazy!!!"

For Birth Control "I had been on Gildess Fe 1/20 for about 2 and a half years until its recent recall. Like many others on this feed, the pharmacy automatically switched me to Blisovi FE. This pill has ruined my body. I haven't had this much acne on my face since I was a teenager, and I have gained so much weight in my stomach. I usually work out vigorously 4-6 days a week and seldom eat junk food or fast food, but with the way my body looks, I might as well be sitting on the couch from morning to night eating nothing but pizza and cheeseburgers. I guess this pill prevents pregnancy because no one wants to have sex with a whale. I will be starting Apri after I'm done with this pill pack...the next week cannot come soon enough."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Blisovi for my excruciating period pain. I would vomit, faint, sweat, cry, and stay in bed in a fetal position for 5 days whenever I had my period prior to being prescribed a BC. Blisovi was my first ever BC. At first, I thought this was a magic pill because it took all my period cramps away and had a mild period that lasted 3 days. It is almost 1 year on Blisovi, I gained 15+ lbs (I exercise 4-5x/week and I have a very healthy diet), I become emotional over any stupid stuff, my face has breakouts to the point I am self-conscious (I haven’t had acne since I was 13), I have had high anxiety and stress, I wear glasses and my vision has gotten 5x worse, and the sweaty underarm is the icing on top of the cake. I did not think about all of this until I realized I didn’t have any of these symptoms a year ago when I was not taking Blisovi. As of today, I am stopping this pill, it is not worth it."

For Birth Control "I went on this birth control to help regulate my periods, instead, I do not have a period at all. I’ve been on it for about a year and haven’t gotten it once, no complaints but makes me question if that’s safe. My skin was clear before I went on it, and now my chin is ruined from acne and scarring. I have to use so many products to help reduce the appearance of the scars. I didn’t gain any weight, but my boobs did grow."

For Birth Control "My doctor switched me from Loestrin to this because I was having some pains consistent with ovarian cysts bursting. I was only on Blisovi for about 6 months until I had to switch back to Loestrin! I had constant cramping pain, no sex drive, acne all over my chin, jawline, and mouth, quick weight gain, especially in lower stomach, fatigue, and loss of motivation. Now after 2 weeks back on Loestrin, my acne is gone, cramping is gone, feeling more sexual and awake, haven’t dropped any of the weight I gained but still working on it. Mind you, I was smaller my entire life and gained 20 pounds once on Blisovi, and it really made me feel like I wasn’t myself. If you feel these symptoms, stop taking immediately."

For Birth Control "I switched from Lo Loestrin Fe to Blisovi 24 Fe about a year ago, and thank goodness I did. In the short time I was on Lo Loestrin Fe, I had mood swings, exhaustion, depression, and I just didn’t feel like myself. When I switched to Blisovi 24 Fe, all of those emotional problems went away, and I feel like myself again. Also, my periods are a ton lighter than before, I used to have about 6-day periods with heavy cramping, and now I have light periods with no cramping that only last about 2 days. I haven’t had any issues with acne. I have gained about 10 pounds in the year that I’ve been on the pill, so that would be my only complaint. Overall, I feel healthy on this BC."

For Birth Control "This pill is the WORST. I just started my third month and have so much stress and anxiety. The pill has helped with my periods, but the toll it has put on my body is not worth it. I had started a new job around the time I was put on the pill and associated the stress to my job and school, I was WRONG. My face is always breaking out, except when I'm on my period (I'm assuming it's because I'm on the placebo pill those 4 days). I'm waiting for my third month checkup to allow my body to adjust to the pill, but I will come off this as soon as I meet with my doctor. I was naive and didn't do any research on the pill. After reading these reviews, I regret not looking into it and saving myself this emotional distress."

For Birth Control "I've been on Lomedia for over 2 years - no side effects, was very happy with Lomedia. Suddenly got switched to Blisovi 24 Fe because Lomedia was on backorder. Blisovi 24 Fe is the worst pill ever. I've been dizzy every day - my mood is terrible - can't stop complaining about stupid things. Got breakouts on my chin, around my nose, my skin got really oily. I've been taking this pill for 3 weeks now. This is my 1st and last month on ever taking this terrible pill. DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL!"
