For Birth Control "I started taking this around 8 months ago. After the switch from my first birth control to this, I noticed minor pimples on my cheeks, but I figured, hey, that's stress, whatever. Over the next few months, I exercised, ate healthy regularly, and got enough sleep. I gained 10 pounds. I continue taking it. I start getting zits on my chin and under my nose, some cystic acne. Never broken out there before, had cystic acne. In fact, my skin was flawless before I was on birth control and while I was on my first ever birth control. My acne on my chin gets worse. I speak to a skincare professional who tells me that breaking out in this area is due to hormonal imbalance. Today I have 2 cysts. Not cystic acne, 2 actual cysts on my chin, along with over 10 other zits surrounding it because this medication made it worse and worse. I am in severe pain. My insurance company alerted me that I was having a severe medical reaction and to get off the medication as soon as possible."

For Birth Control "I advise anyone to NEVER take this birth control ever. I always had clear skin and would get the occasional breakout here and there, and I used to take a birth control called Gildess. When I went to get my refill, they gave me this one, and they said it's the same thing. No, it was not, because not even within two weeks of taking this birth control, my entire forehead, cheeks, and chin broke out all throughout my face terribly. It has been 6 months since I got off of this birth control, and I'm still dealing with the spikes of hormones and the terrible acne. It makes me break down and cry every day. I really hope no one tries this birth control ever."

For Birth Control "I used to take Lo Loestrin but switched to Blisovi about 2 years ago because my insurance stopped covering LoLo. As far as preventing pregnancy, this pill has worked great, but everything else about it is terrible. I have persistent acne on my chin (including bad cysts), but worst of all is my anxiety has been through the roof since I started taking this brand. I'm constantly anxious, irritable, tired, depressed... I never in a million years experienced moods like this. It's affecting my relationship, and my mental health overall has completely gone down the drain. I've set up an appointment with my OBGYN to see if I can get off this stuff ASAP."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill for a while now, my pharmacy switched me from Junel Fe, and I genuinely thought everything happening to me was my own fault and that something was wrong with me. I started taking birth control for ovarian cysts and mild endometriosis. After doing tons of research, I’ve been finding that the crazy amount of hair loss, weight gain (I went from 120 to 130 in a short period), and cystic acne on my jawline and back is all from this pill. I’ve been so down and out from the way this pill has made me look and feel. Not to mention the back pain, anxiety, depression, low libido, and general lack of interest in my normal hobbies. I’m quitting immediately."

For Birth Control "I took this medication for acne purposes. I used to take the same brand but with a lower hormone level, and after six months, I was getting two-week-long periods while taking the pills (as in not in my placebo pill week), so my doctor upped my hormone level. From the moment I started it, I immediately broke out in the worst, incurable acne I’ve ever had. I have gone to the dermatologist to fix it, and I have only been on medications that dry out my skin but leave me with the same acne. I also gain an immense amount of weight that, no matter how much of a healthy diet or exercise I’m on, I can’t seem to shed. I am planning on switching birth controls ASAP."

For Birth Control "I have a very mild case of PCOS, so my gyno was practically begging me to begin a birth control. That being said, I have always had very negative experiences with birth control pills and hadn’t used one in years because of that. But I thought, maybe my body has changed. STICK WITH YOUR INSTINCTS, PEOPLE! I immediately began the consistent spotting, cramping, had painful gas and bloating, and my breasts were so swollen they felt like I was breastfeeding. The acne began around week 3, what seemed completely out of nowhere, and I was covered in it. I didn’t suffer insomnia, but the moodiness and sensitivity definitely increased, as well as vaginal dryness (I am 23 and NEVER had that problem before). After the acne began, I couldn’t take it anymore, it didn’t seem worth it to put my body through it. I stopped taking the pill almost through an entire pack, and I woke up in the middle of the night after 2 days of stopping it, bleeding so much. What is this pill?!?"

For Birth Control "I am currently on month 4. Pros: no period, no weight gain. Con: back acne (never had acne in my life), anxiety and depression (never really had either), and I am always tired! I know I have been going to bed at like 8:30! Wake up tired, tired throughout the day. UGH. I am done with this."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Blisovi 24 FE for my first usage of birth control pills ever. After reading so many of the negative reviews on here, I was extremely nervous and skeptical about starting the pill. But after three months, I'm happy to report I have not had one negative symptom. My period is four days and extremely light and I have little to no cramping. I have not gained any weight, seen an increase in acne, or felt any anxiety or depression as a result of the pill. The only change I am able to report is my boobs have grown and have been slightly tender as a result, but cannot complain. I am overall extremely pleased with this pill."

For Birth Control "I am torn about this particular pill because, in some ways, it has really helped me. I have insomnia pretty bad and, at times, I just didn't feel tired and would pull all-nighters due to sleep onset insomnia. This pill helps me feel tired, which is what I really needed. I have been sleeping really well. Another pro is that my periods are very light, short, and predictable. The biggest problem, however, is the weight gain! I gained 10 lbs that I cannot seem to lose, despite counting every calorie that I eat and working out to the point of nearly killing myself. I get on the scale, and the damn thing doesn't budge. Also, sex drive is almost gone. Acne flares up still. I'm not thrilled with this pill and will be switching."

For Birth Control "Gained about 10 pounds taking this birth control, and I have never gained weight in my life. It helped with my periods, which is why I switched to it, but made me break out more. Also, I took one pill about six hours too late and got pregnant. Do not recommend."

For Birth Control "I was initially prescribed Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. After 2 months of heavy breakthrough bleeding, my doctor changed me to Blisovi Fe 1.5. I've now been on Blisovi for 4 months. The only positive I can say is that it stopped the bleeding. My top 3 complaints are: anxiety, acne, and weight gain. I am constantly on edge and jump at everything. Every month, when I start Week 3, my face gets extremely dry overnight and peels as if I have a sunburn, then cystic acne comes in full force. I've never had an issue with acne in my entire life! I've also gained 10 pounds with zero diet change. My doctor asked me to give it a few months, and as of this morning, he agreed to change me to Yaz. If you are researching and are on the fence, DON'T TAKE BLISOVI!"

For Birth Control "Okay, ladies, do NOT use this birth control. I’m currently still on Blisovi 24 Fe, and I hate it!! It has made me depressed, break out, gain weight, have an irregular period, and have an extremely low sex drive. The only upside is that it has made my periods shorter. I began this birth control because my cramps were horrible, and my periods were heavy and lasted 8 days, it hasn’t helped with anything besides shortening it. I had a 3-day period a few days ago, and I’ve been off for a couple days now, and I’m already cramping again!!! There are so many better options."

For Birth Control "I definitely do not recommend this pill. I was also on Microgestin prior to changing my insurance and then got put on this awful pill. This pill made my acne get so bad! Wow, it was never this bad with Microgestin. I couldn’t figure out what was causing my acne to significantly get worse, I hadn’t changed anything and was actually on the Whole30 program, so eating better than I had ever been before, so nothing made sense! I realized the only thing I had changed was my pill and decided to do some research and read this pill actually has an ingredient that makes acne worse rather than helps it! Ugh! I got off it immediately and am hoping my skin goes back to normal. What a dreadful experience!"

For Birth Control "My daughter is 15 and has very heavy periods. Her doctor recommended this pill to help. It has been a complete nightmare! And it's only been 6 weeks. She has had some GI issues in the past, so we thought the issues were due to that. However, within the first month (close to her period), she was in severe pain: lower abdominal with back, shoulder, leg pains with tingling, headaches, dizziness, vomiting, 4 lb weight gain (and she's very active), bloated, loss of appetite, acne around her mouth and chin, and then all of a sudden the extreme depression and anxiety. Due to her previous issues, we didn't equate it to the pill. We've been to hospitals, specialists, and not once did anyone say anything about the birth control she was on. After reading the reviews of Blisovi, it all made sense. We are taking her off of this starting today. This is a very dangerous drug!"

For Birth Control "This was my first experience on birth control. The only pro to this was having lighter periods. However, I didn't get a period for 3 of the five months I was taking this medication. I gained about 10+ pounds, became extremely depressed, and my skin continued to break out. I just stopped taking it and can't wait to return to my normal self."

For Birth Control "As a teen, I never had acne or cramps, and once I became sexually active, I started taking a different birth control for obvious reasons. After 2 years with no problems, I went off it because I started getting acne. It was only after I stopped taking it that my skin became terrible. I'm talking a full chinstrap of god-awful acne for months. I then went on Lomedia/Blisovi, and it slowly but surely cleared my skin up. However, Lomedia/Blisovi completely stopped my periods. Won't complain about that, but it did result in very heavy, thick, constant discharge. I think it also affected my mood. Not sure if it was life or the pill, but I became anxious, moody, and depressed. Never gained weight or had cramps, but I'm scared to go off it for acne's sake."

For Birth Control "Just started taking this 3 months ago after being taken off Norg-fe due to a few cases of spotting and 2 cases of 3-week-long periods, and let's just say I'd rather have the periods back again. I haven't had my period since I started Blisovi, but every now and then I still get the killer cramps. It also caused me to gain about 5 pounds along with some severe acne or breakouts on my arms, shoulders, back, and even legs. Do not recommend at all."

For Birth Control "Well, I've been on birth control for a little over two years now (first Loestrin, then Microgestin when I had to change insurance plans, then Junel, then Blisovi). I have been on this one for two months. For at least the last six months, I have had no libido, which is sad because I am recently married. I come home from work, and after dinner, I am in bed ready to sleep at 7:30. I used to spend the evenings creating and being artsy in my art studio. Now, I have no energy at all! Since starting Blisovi, I have also broken out on my face immensely. Stopping this pill tomorrow to see if birth control is the culprit for my tiredness, lack of libido, and acne."

For Birth Control "I am so glad I looked on this website!! I'm glad I am not alone. Like many others, my insurance/pharmacy switched me from Microgestin (on for 2 years with no issues) to Junel (on for 3 years with no issues) and now to Blisovi (I've been on it for 3 months). I gained 10 lb in the first month with Blisovi. I work out and eat healthy and have been the same size since I was 18 (I am 29), and the weight is not coming off! In addition, acne has been uncontrollable and unpredictable. I have been bleeding more days than not since I've been using this pill (feels more like 3 weeks on, one week off), and I've been getting headaches and jitters. Stay away if you can!!!"

For Birth Control "If I could give a 0, I would. Asian female, 24 years of age. This is my first time taking this brand. Doctor prescribed these for ovarian cysts and irregular and painful periods. The first week; I noticed acne on my face, which was unfortunate because my skin is always clear prior to these pills. Second week; tiredness, bloating, and constipation. Third week; I have constant mild abdominal cramps. I started having hot flashes/waves during the day. I have trouble sleeping solidly at night and would get up to pee at least once a night. My throat started hurting. Fourth week, I wake up in a pool of sweat, even though the house is at 67 degrees! I’d pull out clumps of hair in the shower. I’m worried that it’s causing me more harm than it’s doing good. I’m stopping these today. WORST PILLS EVER. DO NOT TAKE THESE! Seriously, do yourself a favor and ask for something else."

For Birth Control "I was put on this birth control about a month ago. I know everyone has different experiences, but here is mine: At first, I really liked the birth control and did not notice anything different. About a week in, my acne started becoming terrible, my breasts became sore to the touch, and I was nauseous before every meal. About two weeks later, my anxiety went downhill. Panic attacks every night, constant worrying, not wanting to go anywhere because of the fear. I have a diagnosed anxiety disorder. I’m not sure, but that might be why the birth control did not work for me. My anxiety has been terrible recently, and I hope it stops once I get off this pill. I do not suggest this pill if you suffer from anxiety/depression, etc. This pill may be amazing for some, but not for me. I also got heavy periods with cramps. The only good thing about this pill is that my breasts got bigger!!"
